If you own a belt grinder you understand just what an investment replacement belts for that tool can be. @benchmarkabrasives sent me two products to test and I'm very pleased with the results. One of them is an eraser type material that cleans the build-up out of your belts and I would say it rejuvenates them so you get more life out of them. The other is a belt lubricant or almost like a belt Greece or belt butter. You apply it lightly to the belt before you grind with it it keeps the belt cool extendeding the life of the belt and also prevents buildup. On top of smelling good I prefer this method over water to cool my belts and work pieces. My submission for the Dirty Smith Zombie Apocalypse Weapon challenge.  Hand-forged out of some leaf-spring, handle is red oak.  Most modern piece of equipment used was a 2x72 belt grinder.  This challenged my skills as a blacksmith with this being one of the largest blades I’ve ever made, as well as a new handle technique.  Learned a lot and had lots of fun. @dirtysmith

Still waiting on my 2x72 #ameribrade #ameribrade2x72 But it is still backordered. However, the knife making must continue. First thing tonight was make the table for the grinder. I almost welded it, then realized I would be unscrewing bolts to change belts. That is unacceptable, so I grabbed some magnets, and it works like a dream. Because the bolts stick out of the file guide, and the pins are a little proud as well... I got to use my brand new 1,2,3 blocks tonight. What an awesome tool to have around. That may have been some advice from @evaderknives Thanks Dave! Tonight I got all my bolsters' scale edges clean and square. Soon soldering....
