Elvis had never lived away from home before, and he was miserable, homesick for his mother, Gladys. “He needed someone to look out for him,” Mansfield says, “and Sergeant Norwood was a good one to do that.” William Norwood, the master sergeant, saw the despair in the kid’s face and took him home so he could call his mother. “When you come in my house, you can let it all out” was Norwood’s fatherly advice. “But when you walk out of my front door, you are now Elvis Presley. You’re an actor. You’re a soldier. So, by God, I want you to act! Don’t let anybody know how you feel on the inside."
When GIs from other companies razzed Elvis during marches, Sergeant Norwood would stop the proceedings and dress the offender down.
Presley reportedly turned down opportunities to tour as a military entertainer or serve as a recruiting pitchman when he was drafted, and generally wanted to be treated as an ordinary soldier. His entry into the Army created a media circus. But officials at Fort Hood, where Presley was assigned to the 2nd Armored Division and underwent basic and advanced training, ordered the media not to interfere with his training, since he was to be treated as any other recruit.
Yet the legend of a young Elvis who lived for about six months with his parents, Vernon and Gladys Presley, in a sprawling one-story house in Killeen has endured in Central Texas lore. Elvis was known to drive a Cadillac, go grocery shopping with his parents at the Piggly Wiggly and sometimes come out onto the front porch in the evenings to sign autographs.
Stories abound of the summer of '58, when Presley, tanned by the Texas sun, would be seen around town. His family rental house on Oak Hill Drive has been a novelty for longtime Killeen residents who drive by to see "the house where Elvis lived."
Teri Hospers, a pediatric cardiologist in San Antonio who attended Nolan Middle School in Killeen in the 1970s, remembers a story one of the teachers there often told about a dog he had as a boy who once bit Elvis. After Presley left Killeen, the dog appeared in a local parade with a sign around its neck, proclaiming "I bit Elvis Presley."
Bitten in backyard:
"To avoid fans gathered at his house, Elvis would run through the neighbors' backyards. That's how he got bitten," Hospers said. "We all thought it was a funny story. In a town like Killeen, it was exciting to have a connection to someone that famous."
Elvis letter to Fort Hood mentor:
Presley had written a heartfelt, two-page letter while serving in the Army in Germany. The letter, signed, "your friend, PFC Elvis Presley," was written by the King of Rock 'n' Roll at a pivotal time in his life, less than three months after his mother died, to a Fort Hood sergeant who mentored the young private and helped him deal with his grief.
In a similar dispatch he wrote from Germany to one of his cousins:
In that letter, sent the same month as to the one to Norwood, Presley wrote of his sadness over the loss of his mother, who had died of a heart attack at age 46.
He even mentioned longing for the "last few wonderful days at Fort Hood" that he spent with her, Livingston said.

chart made for Kylie Landry x Shota Aizawa x Hizashi Yamada for my buddy @eraserisms
wedding HCs below
Kylie trains w/Logan to learn the tea ceremony
they go to Japan for the wedding
Hizashi is either Shota's best man or 2nd husband in this scenario
Remy is Kylie's "man of honor"
Eri's the flower girl, DUH
the cats are there, ofc - wearing bowties as is their duty
Kylie wears a white kimono, then changes to a nice shirt & pants
as far as Japanese wedding traditions go, they do: wedding portraits (before the wedding), the daytime wedding, dress rentals (& changes), gifts for guests/hikidemono, the large bouquet/hanataba given to Shota's parents
the rest is pretty much a typical Western wedding & reception
reception has a mix of Japanese, Cajun & American food...it's a badass buffet w/a lot of spicy stuff, pretty much
the tea house/chashitsu & the traditional meal is the X-Men's wedding present; the house is constructed behind the school near some flowering trees
the tea ceremony is done between the wedding & the honeymoon 😎😘; the 5 people there are Shota, Kylie, Hizashi, Eri & Remy

2nd June 2024.
Welcome to Rome, Rome.
Amazing how much better everyone felt after a huge night of sleep. As soon as we were dressed and ready we headed to the hotel roof top to get our complimentary breakfast. Sadly they were out of the mini donut balls but we had plenty of other delicious pastries and found some fruit for Roman. So like…we’re back on track with being good parents again right? The staff at this hotel are SOOOO lovely and so forgiving when Roman continues to spit out food and spill his juice. Unfortunately the weather was wet and rainy so we weren’t sure what we should do as we had no wet weather gear with us. Not only was it Ashley’s bday it was a public holiday in Rome. So at 9:30 fighter jets flew over the sky shooting red, white and green smoke across the city. Being on the roof we had a great view and Roman loved watching them. So great breakfast!
Being public holiday everyone was out and about and lots of streets were closed for a a parade we think which kind of changed our plans as we were hoping to go to a restaurant/the Trevi fountain on the other side of the blockage. So instead we just walked around the back streets of Rome on the rain. Which was actually a lot of fun! And before too long it was nap time so back to the hotel to get a couple hours of rest. We got some takeaway pizza and lasagne to share which Roman loved and ate a heap of. Great success.
On the other side of nap time the rain had cleared and the sun was starting to come out. So out we ventured, but the roads were still closed so we ended up heading down towards the colosseum again. Surrounded by beautiful ruins and crowds of interesting people and music playing, the only thing Roman cared for was chasing pigeons. We have pigeons in Sydney. Moving towards the giant Xxxxxxxx we began climbing the white marble stairs and instantly regretted forgetting our sunglasses. Roman insisted on climbing the 500+ stairs himself so several hours later and with a security guard encouraging him on we made it to the top. Roman loved rolling around on the cold marble and yep, chasing more pigeons. We found a little cafe up the top and grabbed and aperol each (water for Roman!) and had a break. We then went to take in the views and that’s when Roman discovered giant sea gulls. So that was another win for Roman!
Then it was another wander around the ruins and beautiful streets of Rome until we found a little restaurant that was covered in green plants and lights and I thought, yep. That’s where I wanna eat tonight! But of course there was a line, and lines with toddlers are no fun…so we went to a smaller meh one just up from it and ordered some pasta to share between the three of us. We were opposite the cutest little wine bar that also had green plants all over it and an adorable lil truck out front they had converted into a seating area. I couldn’t help but think it was the perfect spot for Ash and I pre Roman. But alas, Roman we have. And he is fun and cute and happy. So I guess that’s better. After dinner it was time to get our tired boi home, he was so tired from the days adventures we didn’t even bother with a shower and he passed out within seconds of his head hitting the pillow. Ash and I poured ourselves a wine, had several sips before we realised we were also exhausted and joined Roman in the land of nod. Only to be rudely awoken by him at 4am which is when he decided we would begin our day. What a great start for our travel day to Sicily. What could possibly go wrong with an EXTREMELY overtired 2 year old and 2 tired stressed out parents travelling by car, plane and rental car to their next adventure…

How to Sell 2nd Hand Wedding Dress: A Complete Guide
Are you looking to sell your gently used wedding dress? Maybe you're looking to make some extra cash, or perhaps you want to give someone else the chance to experience your dress's magic. Whatever your reason for selling, it's essential to do it the right way to get the best possible price.
In this guide, we'll take you through the steps to sell 2nd hand wedding dress successfully.
Step 1: Assess the Condition of Your Dress
Before you list your dress, you need to assess its condition. Take a close look at the dress and note any stains, tears, or damage. Be honest with yourself about the condition of the dress, as this will affect the price you can expect to receive.
Step 2: Determine the Value of Your Dress
The next step is to determine the value of your dress. Check online marketplaces such as eBay or Poshmark to see what similar dresses are selling for. You can also check with local bridal shops or consignment stores to get an idea of what your dress is worth.
Step 3: Choose Where to Sell Your Dress
There are several options available when it comes to selling your dress. You can sell it online through marketplaces. You can also sell it locally through consignment shops, bridal boutiques, or wedding dress rental shops. Choose the option that suits you best based on convenience and the potential for profit.
Step 4: Create a Compelling Listing
Once you've decided where to sell your dress, it's time to create a compelling listing. Take high-quality photos of your dress from different angles and write a detailed description that includes the designer, size, and any unique features. Be honest about the condition of the dress, and don't forget to include the asking price.
Step 5: Promote Your Listing
To get the most exposure for your listing, you'll need to promote it. Share it on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook. You can also list your dress on wedding forums or bridal groups. The more exposure your dress gets, the more likely it is to sell quickly.
Step 6: Negotiate and Finalize the Sale
Once you've found a buyer, it's time to negotiate and finalize the sale. Be willing to negotiate on the price if necessary, but don't go too low. Make sure you have a written agreement that outlines the terms of the sale, including the price, shipping details, and any guarantees.
Conclusion
Selling your 2nd hand wedding dress can be a great way to make some extra cash and give someone else the chance to experience your dress's magic. By following the steps outlined in this guide, you'll be able to sell your dress successfully and get the best possible price. Remember to be honest about the condition of the dress and to promote your listing for maximum exposure. Good luck!

Honestly same... I would say Meghan’s looks from engagement to very early post-marriage were good. At the very least, everything was tailored to some extent.
I'd like to point out that she wore very dirty shoes and a cost that looked like a bathrobe to her engagement photos. On the 2nd most important day of her life, when she had all the time in the world to look perfect. That's not good. She wore dirty shoes often. She wore pants that dragged on the wet ground. Her coats frequently swallowed her. Her undergarments ruined looks that could've been successful. Her *ideas* of looks or outfits during that time might have been ok, but her execution let her down almost every time. Not dressing for her height or size, not dressing for the occasion (although granted this was moreso after the wedding) and lack of attention to detail even in those outfits that you and anons pointed to as her best make them "misses" not hits, imo.
So the rumor was that they were not living at KP and she was being driven in from their rental in the Cotswold's. I guess that is where the mud was supposed to have come from.
But I agree, so many of her pants were way too long for her.
I have a theory about that. She claimed she was 5'7" right? We think she is more like 5'3-5'4. If she was having her clothes altered or she was ordering them to her specifications, she was ordering for someone 3-4 inches taller and that is why her pants look about 3 inches too long.

fine morning F41° inside and 42 ½° outside at 9 am A- had a motion on getting up and seems rather better A- got up a little before 8 – backwards and forwards with A- breakfast at 9 in ½ about ½ hour – with A- about – out at 10 ¾ - to Listerwick – all seemed going on tolerably – Robert Mann and William Lord and Ben and Thomas Sharpe began this morning filling for my own carts and George Naylor (my 3 horses and his 2) stuff from reservoir water drift in John Oatess’ field down to the meer embankment-breach – Jack Green following after the carts – then to Sunwood – the frost had been so severe they had not been working – one man there dressing wallstone about nearly 2 roods done and about 2 roods to dress then across the fields from the quarry to Langleys’ farm (Booths’) at Hipperholme – Booth and his family slept there last night 1st time – Mrs. Booth shewed me over the house – she takes pride in it, and all will be very nice – told Booth to see about the bit more baring wanted at Sunwood (to loose a mass of stone by the natural seam) to see about parpoints for Listerwick blacksmiths’ shop, and to go to Spa house and see what wall had tumbled down, and to see what could be done in the kitchen here about an iron boiler for having hot water – home again in 1 ¾ hour as the servants dinner-bell rung (at 12 ½) – then with A- at her luncheon – then walked 10 minutes with her in front of the house Mrs. Parkinson came to speak to A- sorry she had not paid the ten pounds – but times very bad – then till Mr. Jubb came – all right, she did not take 2 more pills last night – to take one tonight and the remaining 3rd of the mixture tomorrow morning – 1 ¾ gr. calomel in each pile – the mixture in a 6oz. bottle = 12 tablespoonfuls – Mr. J- staid perhaps 20 minutes then walked with A- again till she was tired – perhaps walked this 2nd time 20 minutes or more – then left A- lying on her sofa and I came upstairs read last nights’ paper and ate gingerbread till A- came to me a little before 3 – at 3 or before Joseph Mann came to say Robert would not manage the drum – they had narrowly escaped accidents and not a man about the place would go down again till there was an alteration – Joseph had drawn up David Mann with the jenny – durst not trust the engine – David would have been killed – for Robert could not stop it – told Joseph to put the few coals we have up into the cabin to be ready for the engine, and lock up and have the place, and go for Holt who must see me directly – Joseph and his man to begin tomorrow to do up for Pearson about the water wheel whence we have just removed the scale – wrote all but the 2 first lines of today till 3 25/.. – then with A- making out her cottage rental = about (upwards) £270 per annum Booth came about (before) 5 – to send his cart tomorrow for parpoints (1/2 rood ready) to Sun-wood quarry, and then to bring the tower windows glass from H-x where it has lain in the warehouse about a month – he is also to get, and send by his cart a 12 gallon iron boiler for the kitchen – my own carts too busy at the scale in John Oates’s field to be taken off – about ½ rood of wall down at Spa – Robert Mann to send William Lord to do it up immediately – the passage flagging finished this evening except the last flag up to the south door left unlaid till Mr. Harper says what is to be done about moving the door a little forwarder into the porch – with A- till dinner at 7 10/.. she read 3 ½ pages of French – she seems rather better this evening? – left the dining room about 8 ¼ - wrote the last 9 lines – coffee – read tonights’ paper and then a few pages of Mitford vol. 1 to p. 97/450 4to London 1784. fine day – F42 ½° inside and 35 ½° outside now at 10 ¾ pm came upstairs at 10 ½ A- and I stood talking in the blue room ½ hour -

7 and 8 for the band of brothers asks (if you're still doing them!) Can you believe I've had the show on my to watch list for YEARS and only watched it fully for the first time over the Dec 2021 - Jan 2022 winter break.. and I've since watched it multiple times. So happy to see a cozy fandom still thriving here !
omg yes I was just talking today about how wonderful it was to have this fandom thriving SO LONG after the original airing of the show!!
7. how did you first find out about the show
8. when did you first watch the show?
the answers to these questions go together! in the summer of 2004 I was a junior going into senior yr of high school. my cousin and I went on a high school study abroad trip to France and England through the college I eventually attended, end of June/beginning of July that yr. it was a ww2 history course. we spent a couple days on campus and then flew to paris, did some stuff there, took a bus to the Normandy coast for a few days, then a ferry to England and did some stuff in and around London, then flew back home.
while we were on campus we watched 'the longest day' and I really liked it! I asked the boys if there was anything like that but more recent and they said "well there's saving private ryan, but that one isn't as good as the HBO show band of brothers." I only retained the name of the movie UNTIL
on July 4 we were in Paris at the eiffel tower and there were these really old guys all dressed the same and the boys in our group were freaking out like they were looking at a bunch of movie stars. we began talking to them...
and learned their names - don malarkey and buck compton. real ww2 vets!! it was so neat. afterward, the starstruck boys asked us girls if we knew who we'd been talking to. we were like yeah, vets, and they said "NO YOU WERE TALKING TO EASY COMPANY OF THE SECOND BATTALION OF THE 506 PIR OF THE 101ST AIRBORNE" and when were were still like 'yeah... veterans.....' they said "no like, BAND OF BROTHERS."
so when we got home I used my fam's Hollywood video acct (unlimited rentals, one DVD at a time) to watch the show. first time I'd binged a TV show, ever, those days in July 2004. then it was like, holy shit we met malarkey and compton!!!!
so then after that I'd watch the marathons on spike TV around D-day anniversaries or memorial day weekend or whatever, but usually I'd fall asleep to the sound of machine guns and not really pay too much attention beyond "oh I met malarkey and compton." it wasn't until a random half-interested watch in 2018 when I happened to look up at the TV right when nix got dinged outside of nuenen and I sat up straight and said "WHAT HAVE WE HERE???" that I found a ship that obsessed me. (I had read fic before, EVEN THAT SHIP!! but in an abstract way of "I read fic for every media I consume because that's just what I do even if I don't ship anything it's just another medium to consume" [who else does this??]).
and then summer of 2020 I was just really desiring some good leadership in my life and started thoughtful re-watches where I gave a shit about what was actually going on in a broader sense, FINALLY read the ambrose book, and on like my second re-watch I sent Google a question
then posted this on my instastory like "wow gliders seem like a death trap" and my mom responded, "your grandmother's fiancé was a glider pilot, that is how he died during the war, that's all I know about him except oh his name was ray and he was from columbus, oh" and that kicked off a research jag which led to me learning literally all there is to know about 2nd lt. ray schott's military career and being named as his granddaughter (close enough) in the glider pilots memorial newsletter. there were no portraits of him online in uniform until I got a scanned copy of him from my aunt.
my grandmother lit a candle for him every year in his birthday, August 25, and the anniversary of the day he died, December 27 (1944, yes he was KIA at Bastogne resupplying the 101st). when I learned this in 2021 I began lighting a candle on those days in her place. she passed away in 2009. ray was the love of her life. she married my grandfather about a year after Ray was killed. she was an anti-war activist up until her death.
#omg thank u for the meme ask I will reblog it and uh#feel free to ask more!!!#band of brothers#donald malarkey

Marianne owns an upscale Flea Market shop and rents an apt. on Logan Blvd., in Chicago. She calls her decor style Parisian belle époque parlor with some updates from the 1970s and 1980s mixed in.
This sofa was too large to bring up to the 2nd fl., so Marianne’s husband created a pulley to lift it up the back stairs.
Marianne is always coming up with new rental friendly ideas. She hung this removable matte black “crocodile skin” wallpaper in the hallway.
People lucky enough to own used furniture stores have the most wonderful pieces.
An art-filled hall leads to the kitchen.
The way it’s decorated, doesn’t even look like a kitchen.
The bedroom is tres chic with it’s black painted bureau.
A sconce and some French antiques dress up a standard apt. bathroom. Very classy apt.

Disco Love | M. Rantanen
Words: 2,129
This is dedicated to my girl @grenawitka
A/N: I randomly had a dream about a future significant other taking me out to a 80s-style roller disco as a date because I’m a freak who loves 80s disco a little too much. Since I’m single af and my attraction to the male species mostly revolves around hockey players, I figured I would make it about a player. Mikko was suggested by my girl @grenawitka and thus, this was born. In this, COVID-19 never happened and the season and offseason take place at their normal scheduled times
Warnings: excessive amounts of disco, swearing, references to sex, and light sexual content
-
You’re in your room curling your hair to try and make it look as 80s as possible. There’s a new roller disco that just opened up in Denver and you haven’t shut up about it since they announced they were opening it. It literally got to the point where you were talking Mikko’s ear off about it and since he’s a great boyfriend, he agreed to take you there on a date.
You finish curling your hair before throwing a headband over it to keep it in place and putting it into a high ponytail with a colorful scrunchie. You also put on very colorful makeup. You have a rainbow-colored leotard on with a pink skirt over it. You have leg warmers and armbands on and look like you belong in an 80s music video. You put on hoop earrings just to add to the look and take a picture to send to the WAGs group chat. The older girls definitely appreciate the look more than the younger ones who think you look lowkey ridiculous.
Before you can defend your look to the younger girls, Mikko comes out of the bathroom dressed in a dark t-shirt and shorts.
“Really babe, that’s what you’re wearing?” you scoff, not believing he didn’t even put an ounce of effort into it.
“What’s wrong with my outfit?” he whines.
“It’s basic and not 80s enough!” you huff in frustration.
You drag him into his side of your walk-in closet and you give him a whole wardrobe change. After a while, you’re satisfied with his new look, which consists of a bright muscle tank, dark 80s style joggers, and sneakers.
“Alright now go look at your look,” you inform him, gesturing to the mirror.
He takes a look at himself and grimaces. This is definitely something he would never wear on his own accord.
“You look great, baby and it’s one night to make me happy,” you assure him.
“I just hope no one recognizes me,” he grimaces thinking about being caught dead by the media wearing what he has on.
You roll your eyes at how dramatic he is and get ready to leave. After a few minutes, you leave the condo and make your way to the car. Mikko insists on driving, which is better for you because you get to control the music and like the pest you are, you play nonstop disco in the car. The entire ride you subject Mikko to the likes of Evelyn Champagne King, Donna Summers, The BeeGees, Gloria Gaynor, Chic, KC and the Sunshine Band, Fire, Diana Ross, Earth, Wind, and Fire, and more.
After what must feel like an excruciating long time for Mikko, you finally arrive at the roller disco. The parking is shit, as it usually is in the city, so you have to park a few blocks away in a parking garage. You make the walk to the roller disco, braving the chilly air of the early September night in the city. You make your way inside the building and Mikko pays the fee for two. You then head over to the rentals to rent out old-fashioned roller skates. Mikko had wanted to bring his rollerblades, but you told him that it defeats the purpose of going to a roller disco, since it’s with old-fashioned roller skates.
“What are your sizes?” the guy working the rental booth asks, before recognizing Mikko and his face drops.
Mikko talks to the guy and lets him know their sizes. The guy wishes he could get an autograph but settles for a picture with him instead. After the exchange is done, you put on your skates with Mikko tying the laces up for you. You both then head to the hardwood rink holding hands. Since your skating isn’t the best, Mikko leads you at a much slower pace than he would go normally.
The song Stayin’ Alive by the Bee Gees starts playing and you feel like you’re being taken back in time to 1979 or something. You start singing along to the song as you skate alongside groups of friends and other couples.
“Aren’t you glad we’re back in Denver?” you ask him.
“Yeah, being back in Denver means a new season is starting and another shot at the cup,” he replies.
“I really believe you guys can win it this year, babe,” you assure him.
“That’s what everyone said last season and look what happened,” he replies bitterly, referring to their latest 2nd round exit.
“Yeah well that was last season and this season is different! You guys are a year older and wiser and you’re going to make it out of the West this year!” you assure him again.
“I sure hope we do,” he smiles weakly.
“Anyway, we need to start planning our halloween outfit for this year!” you suggest, already coming up with cute couple ideas.
“Babe, it’s September,” he replies, throwing you a look.
“Yeah, I know, but we need to be the best dressed couple at the party,” you reply.
“Why don’t we just dress like we’re dressed now? I think being a 80s roller disco couple will make us best dressed at the party!” he teases.
“As long as I get to see you in tight pants,” you giggle.
“I’m not wearing tight pants, babe,” he replies.
“You’re going to wear tight pants,” you add.
The song Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough by Michael Jackson comes on and you start singing and swaying to the beat. As you get more comfortable with your skating, you start picking up your speed. Mikko starts showing off by moon-walking on his skates and doing fancy moves.
“You’re such a show off!” you whine.
“You act like you don’t love it!” he adds.
“Whatever, I’m hungry,” you reply, dragging him out of the hardwood rink and towards the concessions area.
You both look at the menu and decide to split nachos, as well as ordering two slices of brooklyn style pizza and drinks. You wait for your food while I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor plays, with you managing to sing all the lyrics into Mikko’s ear. Your food is ready and you sit down to eat it in old-school booths that remind you of old pizzerias.
“Have you been having fun?” you ask him, afraid that he’s only pretending for your sake.
“Surprisingly it’s been fun. I’m not really into disco like you, but it’s been really fun. The old-school vibe is nice. I feel like it’s 1989 or something,” he admits with a small smile.
“Not gonna lie, I was scared you were only pretending to like it because I do. I always wanted to go to a roller disco and get that old school nostalgic experience,” you inform him.
“Well I’m glad I brought you here tonight. Does that mean I get the boyfriend of the year award?” he asks hopefully.
“You still need to stop leaving your clothes thrown all over the floor, leaving the toilet seat up every time you use it, and put in a new toilet paper roll instead of just leaving it on top of the holder for me to give you the award,” you explain, shooting him a look.
“I’m sorry,” he replies sheepishly, kissing your cheek. “I’ll be better about those things.”
He’s lucky he’s hot because you honestly would’ve killed him already from how much you have to baby him, like as if you’re his second mom.
“Thanks I know I’m hot, but it’s great to hear you say it,” he winks, before taking a bite of his pizza.
Clearly, you said the “you’re lucky you’re hot” part out loud and you curse yourself for inflating his already huge ego.
You two finish your food before throwing out your food and heading over to the old-school arcade area. There’s a couple skeeball machines, pac-man, super mario, and a few other old-school games.
“Babe, I hope you know I’m gonna kick your ass in these games right?” you ask, as you make your way to the ticket machine.
“I don’t think so, my love. I hope you know I’m not gonna go easy on you,” he retorts, buying the tickets from the machine.
“We’ll see about that Rantanen,” you smirk, confident in your ability.
“You’re on, Y/L/N,” he adds, not backing down.
You head over to the skeeball machine and manage to kick his ass in that game.
“I thought you said you weren’t gonna go easy on me, babe,” you smirk, knowing how much he hates to lose in anything.
“I was, but I won’t be this time around,” he lies, trying to play it off.
“We’ll see about that,” you scoff.
You head over to the pac-man machine and battle against each other and Mikko manages to beat you in a very close match.
“I thought you were gonna kick my ass,” he teases, making fun of you.
You just shoot him a look and take him over to the Super Mario machine to redeem yourself. After a very close match, you manage to beat him. You two go back and forth and after playing a few more games, you record more wins and therefore are crowned the ultimate champ.
“I’d like to thank God first and foremost,” you say, giving a fake award acceptance speech.
He just shakes his head in amusement and hip checks you lightly.
“I don’t think that’s how you treat a champ, babe,” you tease, still rubbing the victory in his face.
“Yeah yeah yeah, I’m still the better skater,” he retorts, causing you to laugh in response.
You both head back over to the hardwood rink as the song Love Come Down by Evelyn Champagne King comes on and you literally start singing your heart out to the song, as you skate along with him. That song can definitely express your feelings for Mikko perfectly.
“Babe, did you know?” you ask, stifling a giggle.
“Know what?” he asks in confusion.
“That you make my love come down,” you add, before laughing.
“That was corny, babe,” he chuckles, kissing you.
“It’s true! I just can’t help the way that I feel!” you add, referencing the song again.
“You’re lucky I love you,” he groans.
“I love you more,” you smile, kissing him.
You skate for a little while longer listening to all the jams and even watch as some guys start having a battle right in the middle of the rink. After a while, you decide to head home and you return your skates back.
You leave the roller disco and walk down the streets of Denver, getting the occasional weird looks by people for your 80s style attire. You eventually make your way back to the car. You take the aux once again and play Dancing Queen by ABBA causing Mikko to groan.
“Really ABBA? I hear enough of them from Gabe,” he groans.
“You’re acting like this isn’t a great song!” you retort, as you start heading back home.
You torture Mikko with more disco music durignt he whole drive back home. Eventually, you arrive back at the condo and go straight to the bathroom. You remove your makeup and tie your hair up before changing into one of Mikko’s old team Finland shirts with nothing underneath and heading into the room to see Mikko in bed and scrolling on his phone. He looks up and smiles when he sees you wearing his shirt. You join him in bed and straddle his waist, his hands going automatically to your hips.
“Have I told you before that I love when you wear my clothes?” he asks, his fingers running under the seam of the shirt.
“You may have mentioned it before,” you tease, running your fingers through his curls.
His hands go to your butt and he grabs both cheeks in his hands.
“Someone’s being handsy,” you tease, before rolling over onto his side.
“Such a tease,” he groans in disappointment.
“Quit whining you baby! We’re watching a movie tonight and I’m picking,” you inform him.
He hands you the remote and you choose Saturday Night Fever, the iconic 1977 disco movie.
“Really?” he groans, shooting you a look.
“Just shut up and turn off the lights, Mikko,” you order him.
He gets up begrudgingly and turns off the lights before climbing back into bed. You start the movie and Mikko gets over the movie choice after a while. You two don’t even watch the entire movie, abandoning it halfway because he got too handsy, which was part of his agenda from the second he saw you wearing his shirt. The soreness that you feel the next morning was worth it when he wakes you up with breakfast in bed.
