Mazda Chantez kei car with a 13B from an FD3S RX7 transplanted. Engine converted to high comp NA with fuel from a Weber carby. Front suspension and gearbox from an SA22C RX7. Custom 4 link rear suspension.

This year Mr. Shimoyama's Chantez came in 2nd place with a difference of one vote. This Chantez is a remake of a car that RE Amemiya once built. However, it is not a complete remake at all.

This can be said to be the reason why we were able to score points. The installed engine has been replaced with a 13B-REW for FD3S. The 13B is set to NA, and a high compression rotor (compression ratio 9.7) is installed in the side port tune. Also, instead of using injection, the engine was intentionally changed to Weber's downdraft, producing a maximum output of 246PS. Of course, exhaust manifolds, mufflers, etc are custom items and are made of stainless materials.

And that's not the only thing that makes this Little Gang style Chantez so great. The rear suspension has been completely rebuilt. From normal leaf to original 4-link subframe

(It's also full pillow) and there's a lot left.

They are now able to accept the power that comes with it. On the other hand, a new strut tower has been installed for the front suspension, and the suspension from the SA22C has been reused. By the way, the cost to modify this model of Chantez was over 3.3 million yen. Since the modification has been so thorough, I guess there's nothing that can be done about it. Now, the owner, Mr. Shimoyama, is currently putting this Chantez up for sale for 1.98 million yen.

In order to absorb this power, the rear suspension has been made into a 4-link structure. The interior is also lined with linkage, making it fully covered. The differential is a pre-rotary one.

For an intimidating style

Since this size is equipped with extremely thick tires, it is inevitable to install over fenders. Everything is filled with putty and the bodywork is beautiful. By the way, the amount of offset is

-10 or more.

It's a scorching hell inside the room.

Since this body is equipped with a rotary engine that generates a lot of heat, it gets quite hot inside. Heat countermeasures will be taken with heat shield tape. The shift lever position will be changed to accommodate the SA mission.

Housed in it's original printed plastic sleeve, this first and only die-cut cover edition showcases all aspects of the design work of the pioneering Californian fashion company, ESPRIT, from the years 1984-1986. Through it's wonderful, quintessentially Californian 1980's post-modern design, this book profiles ESPRIT's product packaging, clothing and home-ware design, pop accessories, catalogue campaigns, advertisements, various identity and event collateral (party announcements , posters, flyers, business cards), apparel print graphics, and retail interior design by Ettore Sottsass and Sottsass Associates one-of-a-kind, visually dazzling book and a wonderful, rare piece of commercial design history that led ESPRIT and Tamotsu Yagi to win the AIGA design leadership award in 1986. In 1968, American environmentalist, adventure film-maker, conservationist and founder of The North Face outdoor clothing company, Douglas Tompkins, his wife Susie, and her friend Jane Tise began selling girl's dresses out of the back of a VW bus. In 1971, they incorporated the booming business under the name "Plain Jane" which later became ESPRIT, one of the hottest and most successful clothing companies of the 1970's, 1980's and 1990's.From the early days running out of the Tompkins' apartment in San Francisco, Douglas Tompkins titled himself "image director", overseeing all aspects of the company's image, from store design to catalog layout, while his wife served as design director. In 1984 the role of art director was taken up by Japanese designer Tamotsu Yagi. All facets of design were of primary importance to ESPRIT. From the iconic logo design by John Casado (who aslo designed the first Apple Macintosh Computer logo and album covers for the Doobie Brothers) to the ESPRIT store and office interiors by Ettore Sottsass (of Memphis Design Group and Sottsass Associates) to the fashion campaign photography of Oliviero Toscani (also well-known for his controversial campaigns for Benetton, work with Fiorucci, and co-founder of Colors magazine), ESPRIT was a total design vision of the 1980's .
