3. What fandoms do you write for?

stargate atlantis is the runaway lead, then sg-1, 90s/00s treks, the x-files, and a grab bag of other things. only two fics so far for m*a*s*h but the forecast looks good!

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

no sooner met (star trek voyager, j/c, eight years of friends-to-lovers in 5k or less)

career day (stargate sg-1, clone!sam/jack, damn that sure was a choice to go back to high school amirite)

next chapter (the good place, chidi/eleanor, the intimacy of reading)

first date (star trek voyager, j/c, falling in love again)

occupational hazards (the good place, chidi/eleanor, eleanor would rather not be the architect)

5. Do you respond to comments?

eventually!!!! i tend to keep nice ones on my home page for a while to cheer me up and then sometimes they get buried. i wake up nights like "damn the good place fandom really went all out with amazing comments on that random fic in like 2018 and i never replied," so maybe i need to go through my inbox and belatedly clear my cosmic debts.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

twilight (stargate atlantis, sheppard/weir, what if john didn't break the cycle). strong on style but real weak on comfort.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

weaving loose ends (stargate sg-1, sam/jack) ends with a wedding! in twenty years of writing romance fic, that has maybe only happened once?

8. Do you get hate on fics?

not yet! but the year is young.

a fic of mine did cause a dramatic fandom schism once, in the dancing with the stars fandom no less. a splinter fan group created in exile! a mod claiming to be personal friends with the stars! everybody storming out and then blocking each other! so my fic did cause hate, but somehow i personally escaped unscathed. i didn't even get blocked. (lesson: in some spaces, rpf is encouraged until They Fuck. second lesson: if you start a fire and then stay very quiet, everyone forgets about you.)

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

i do!! i guess!! but i'm struggling with it right now and it's giving me a complex. and "what kind" is like......... vanilla het fic for the most part tbh. gauzy curtain vibes, even. basically, i have to really sit and think about whether to rate something M or E, you know?

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

nope!

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

nope!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? 

yes, but not since the x-files days. rip geocities webrings we salute you for your years of service.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

no, but i think i'd like to! passing chapters back and forth sleepover style like "haha write your way out of THIS" would be fun. (or collaborating in a more mundane way, i guess....)

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

john sheppard/elizabeth weir (stargate atlantis). first fic in the tag and i'm still fuckin there. three years on tv and a lifetime in my goddamn brain.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

realistically, i'm feeling pretty down on the chances that i'll ever finish ANY wip that's longer than 20k, but the two long ones withering on the vine that i'd like to finish are a sam/jack sg1 episodic soulmate fic and "what if janeway went undercover with the maquis instead of tuvok: the novel."

16. What are your writing strengths?

stealing one of geneeste's answers because "character complexity" is a good one! i don't feel satisfied with any fic unless i feel like i have learned something new about a character, or highlighted it in a new way.

my more specific strength, according to @coraclavia, is missing-scene fics that weave through an entire series canon to make a thesis statement (they are In Love).

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

😭 i can't write anything long 😭 i really wish i were different 😭 i envy those of you with staying power who can return to a story after going to work or writing something else and keep plugging away at it. i used to write sprawling things when i was a teen, but since becoming Adult With Job now many years ago, i've totally lost that skill!!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

haaaahahahaha. talk about a weakness. i literally couldn't bring myself to write a fic that required dialogue in Ancient from stargate, a language that -- i cannot stress this enough -- is not even real. i'm like "well maybe i'll study latin for three years and then analyze all the episodes where they speak it to reverse engineer the differences so i can write the bastardized space latin correctly" GIRL WHY. JUST FUCK IT UP.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

first completed story that i recall would have been star trek voyager in my early teens, and by the grace of rural internet and some kind of prescient sense of self-preservation, it does not live online. first internet-published fic was several years later, for the x-files. for better or worse, that one can still be found.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

i think pieces (stargate atlantis, sheppard/weir, catharsis through sex pollen) might be the new best, and i had a lot of fun writing erasers on pencils (stargate sg-1, clone!sam/jack, catharsis through truancy).

I always respond because it seems like the polite thing to do especially now that people don't leave as many comments as they used to back the 00's on ff.net

You Can't Stay Blind - (SuperWho (SPN/Doctor Who)) - the Eleventh Doctor runs into Crowley who's wearing a too familiar face

In the Pasture of a Vale (Supernatural) - Dean runs into Adam and Ben five years post-season 5 (written back in 2010)

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

 I think I always end up with a kind of mixed emotion ending like Best Laid Plans or Our Soulmate Academia, so it's difficult to remember the truly happy ones. The most recent happy ending would be The Mystery in the Fog (ACD!Holmes) where Holmes and Watson end up at the same secret wedding of an underground queer club they're both members of unbeknownst to each other and have some revelations

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Sometimes I do. The most infamous incident was the time I wrote a fic speculating on who Castiel's vessel might have been before I got to Jimmy's episode in my binge watch back in the day. The reviewer went into gruesome detail on how I was going to burn in Hell for my fic. It was unreal. I just deleted the fic and then went on to write several more SPN fics as you do.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I've written smut a handful of times for fics and more often than that for RP since that's part of the RP culture I fell into in university. Most of my smut fics have been orphaned now, but the one that remains is Swallow My Fang at Night Island (Interview with the Vampire (AMC)) I approach smut like I approach fight scenes so I can keep track of the flow of action. I keep my own personal kinks out of it and try to write a scene I think the audience would look for instead

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I've written 15 crossovers. I enjoy them tbh. In terms of plot, the craziest one I wrote was Distortion (BBC Sherlock/My Life in Film) where Jones was hired to play Moriarty and things get way too real. In terms of titles crossed over, the craziest one is probably The Hokage (Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle/Naruto)

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes, ages ago. It's why I'm my own beta reader or Kitty Britpicks me because I can trust her

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I had some requests but I've never been alerted to the final products

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

My brother and I regularly cowrote fics together when I was in high school and he was in middle school. If you ever read a Trigun script-based crack fic in the 00's with the phrase "Love and peace! Doves and geese! Change the world!" or "Another carnival ride with cotton candy," that was us.

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

I don't think I actually have one because I'm a multi-shipper and I have so many favorites. That said, it might be inuyasha/Kagome since I always had an Inuyasha fic in rotation (usually more than one though) from 2001 - 2007 or so. Unfortunately they've all been lost to time. According to my AO3 relationship toggle in the filters sidebar, it's Destiel (7) and Devil's Minion (7)

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I have a BnHA fic from before we learned what Hagukure's powers were where she sent Class-A and Aizawa back in time to Yagi's high school years to do a kind of Tenchi in Love (1996) type of plot where they had to stop a time traveler from murdering Yagi. I wrote quite a bit of it but it stalled on me when Midoriy and Nana interacted and I wasn't completely sure how to get that to work

16. What are your writing strengths?

The most consistent thing I get complimented on are my fight sequences, which is why it's sad I lost all my IY fics because I wrote so many fights for them

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

My memory is a sieve and some of the holes are too big

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've done it before because I was a weeb and it was a trend in the 00's. Not sure I'd do it again now that I've matured past that.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Technically fairytales. I retold Cinderella when I was so little my mom had to write it down for me because I couldn't write yet. I drew pictures to go with the narration

20. Favourite fic you’ve written?

The Land Across the Sea (Black Clover/Boruto) - Boruto ride a tsunami to Clover Kingdom and the knights have to take him back home, which is also Yami's homeland.

I got the idea for this fic when a friend and I were talking about what we'd want the Black Clover movie to be about when it was first announced. Then I took my idea of Yami getting to return to his homeland and made it a crossover because I like the idea of Yami and Naruto knowing each other from back in the day.

‘Mulder, stop. Stop running after your sister,’ she knew it was the wrong thing to say before she even said it. But she said it anyway, ‘this won’t bring her back.’

He looked at her, a scathing, disappointed look that she loathed to get. ‘Come with me or don’t come with me but until they find a body, I’m not giving up on that girl.’

And surely, surely this is what she found so intriguing about him in the first place; his determination and his drive to find the truth; to save anyone resembling his sister. She’d noticed it in their first case together, his desperation to save the teenagers.

But his fire and passion put the X files and himself in danger – the man chased after wolves, tore apart a grave. She just wanted to get through to him.

The car ride to Darlene Morris’s was held in stony silence. Mulder grinding his teeth, hands white-knuckling the steering wheel.

Silence until the breaks squealed and the car veered off onto the verge. The snap of the seatbelt buckle hitting the car interior, driver’s door slamming shut as Mulder stormed out.

After giving him a moment to blow off steam, she followed him past the treeline, ‘Mulder...wait. Mulder,’ his long legs had only carried him a few paces, ‘Mulder.’

‘I told you about Samantha in confidence, Scully. I...I trusted you.’

‘No,’ he snapped, twisting on his heel to glare at her, ‘no, you don’t get to bring her up. You don’t get to talk about her. You don’t get to use her against me.’

She squared her shoulders, set her jaw and lifted her chin to him, letting his tirade wash over her. It wasn’t the first time she’d been yelled at by a man, and it wouldn’t be the last. And, whilst his lanky frame towered over her diminutive one, she was not, and would not be, intimidated by him.

Not even when he stalked towards her did she flinch, nor when her back hit the solid trunk of a tree behind her and his hands grasped at her shoulders.

She should have been afraid. In hindsight, she would look back and wonder why she wasn’t terrified. But she knew. She knew that he wouldn’t hurt her. He looked like a scared teenager, missing his sister.

His voice a low growl as he bent his head to hers, nose brushing nose and eyes so close she couldn’t focus on them, ‘she’s mine.’

And of course, of fucking course, that had to be the moment her fucked up little brain noticed just how close her partner was, with his hot breath and green green green eyes and that pouty little mouth that he’d been popping sunflower seeds into all afternoon. And God, if there wasn’t a not-so-little part of her that wasn’t incredibly turned on by his possessiveness, wondered if he’d ever be that possessive over her. She could feel it, that urge to push against his controlling behaviours and rebel against him, just like she always did. Usually, it took longer. Fourteen years to rebel against her father. Three with Daniel. Two and a half before she started pushing her luck with Jack. With Mulder, it had barely taken five months.

‘Are you done?’

‘I think so,’ he huffed.

‘Good. My turn. I understand how sensitive a topic Samantha is, but you have to realise, Mulder, that I am trying to protect you, protect the work you are so passionate about,’ she shook her head, ‘I’m trying to keep the x files open so you can find your sister.’

‘You have a funny way of going about it,’ he interrupted snidely.

‘Mulder, stop. Just...think for one goddamn minute, will you? This isn’t the way to go about it. You can’t just go ranting and raving about aliens – you end up being dismissed and sounding like poor Darlene. You need to have a rational process, a discrete one. And you have to separate the search for your sister from other cases that you have no proof are connected,’ she took a breath, head thunking back against the rough bark of the tree trunk.

‘There’s no separating them, Scully,’ he growled, grip tightening on her shoulders, ‘you don’t understand what it’s like!’

‘I know, Mulder! And I’ll never understand what it’s like, but you have to compartmentalise, you have to be sensible, not just for your work but for yourself, too. It’s not...it’s not healthy, Mulder,’ she reached up, held a hand against his cheek, felt the clenched muscles in his jaw, sighed, ‘Mulder...’

‘Why do you care, Scully?’

She sighed, ‘because someone has to, Mulder.’

He swallowed, frowned, and she moved the hand that had been cupping his cheek up to soothe out the wrinkles on his forehead as he deflated. He shrugged out of her grasp and dropped his forehead against the trunk next to her, arms still bracketing her either side.

His body started trembling and she wrapped her arms around him, nestling her head into his shoulder as he sobbed. Her passion shifted, heat and anger coiling in her gut, not now aimed at Mulder but at everyone who never cared for him.

She became aware of him shifting, nuzzling his face into her hair, pressing kisses to the top of her scalp, and if she wasn’t so desperate to both please him and rebel against him all at once, she might have flashed on transference and worried about him becoming too attached to her. But her mind was preoccupied with his hand dropping down to her neck, thumb rubbing along her collar bone and tracing her arteries up to her pulse point, lingering there. She knew he’d feel her increased heart rate, the rapid thump brought on by being so very close to him and the adrenaline still lingering from their argument.

He nudged her face up with his nose so they were again locking eyes, and it was with a start that she realised just how clear his were. Her hands dropped to his hips, holding him steady, or holding herself steady, she wasn’t quite sure.

He dropped his forehead to hers, leant in, and maybe she had lost all rationality, but maybe she wanted it, and so she opened her mouth instinctively, reached up to him, darted her tongue out to flick at his lips, tasting salt.

‘Tell me what you want, Scully,’ he murmured into her opened mouth.

‘Tell me what you need,’ she countered, chest heaving with heavy breaths.

‘I think you know what I need.’

She nodded, eyes almost as desperate as his, crashing her lips into his, one hand kneading into his side as her other reached up to hold his shoulder, leverage herself into him further. She had to wonder, as his thumb pressed harder on her pressure point whilst he kissed her roughly, just how long he had spent profiling her. And then he was dropping a hand to cup her over her pants and all thoughts of profiling went out of her head. All thoughts of propriety, of anything but him - his whole body surrounding her, engulfing her, pressing in around her – slipping away.

‘Can I?’ he asked, grazing his teeth across her jaw, tugging her earlobe, biting down as she whimpered, and God, that was an unexpected noise.

Her hips were already shifting, grinding down into his palm, and that was all the incentive he needed to tug at her zipper, slipping inside to finger the elastic waistband with the little ribbon bow on the front. At the back of her mind, she wondered if he’d consider her underwear choice plain; he’d seen her in worse on their first case together, but still, she had seen glossy pages with flesh and a little lace peeking out of one of his bottom drawers in the office. His fingers distracted her, though, as they dragged across the cotton of her panties, down and up and down and up along the sodden gusset, tracing her slit over and over and bypassing her clit every single fucking time.

Her head dropped back to the trunk of the tree he had her pinned to with a thunk, her hair catching on the bark and tugging, only spurring her on more as she writhed, fingers clasping at every inch of him in her reach.

‘Of course,’ he nodded, running a hand through his hair, ‘and, uh, I apologise. For...for...’

‘Mulder, forget it. Forget it all happened, okay,’ she brushed him off, knowing as she climbed into the passenger seat of the car that she wasn’t going to be forgetting any of it any time soon.

     » Depends on the format of writing. Headcanons, discussions, and reactions take the shortest amount of time; short stories take anywhere from days to months for me to complete which is why I do not do any emergency requests.

     » I am a full-time college student, part-time worker, and I play third-parent for my younger siblings as well as taking care of the house and meals.

     » My motivation spikes at random times and is never consistent.
