210317 Gong Jun interview with Nanfang Daily

To Gong Jun, the popularity of WOH is unexpected. But also expected, he did think that it'll be liked by people. Because from the filming to the set design, back & front of the camera, every single aspect, the crew put lots of attention into it.

After he was casted, Gong Jun pre-read and researched the script, immersing himself into it, and having a deeper understanding. He also had martial arts and physical training, to become more similar to the character's disposition and aura.

His sincerity in creating this character can be seen. To become familiar with the fan-spinning, he tied a rubber-band to his hand and practiced it repeatedly.

Even now, many months after filming has wrapped, he fan-spinning skills are still good. It is at a standard where it can demonstrate it at a live event.

There are rumours that WOH has two different kinds of endings. Gong Jun thinks that no matter if its WOH, scripts he chooses himself, or when he is an audience, a "happy reunion" type of ending isn't a must for him.

Gong Jun says "I'm alright with either a happy ending or a bad ending, a good/bad ending caters to the whole storyline, so every kind of ending exists for a reason."

Gong Jun about portraying Wen Kexing:

"He is someone who is very emotional, in one scene he could have many emotion changes, one second he's happy, the next second he's angry. The interchanging of emotions is really difficult."

To portray such a complex character well, Gong Jun tried many different methods, adjusting his expressions, as well as discussing it with the directors, screenwriters and other cast members in the scene. Finding inadequacies in the takes, and improving them.

Gong Jun: "I worked hard to turn myself into Wen Kexing, thinking that in the moment I am Wen Kexing, if this is me, what would I do when facing these situations?"

Face expressions and emotional control of several important WKX scenes are the result of Gong Jun's hard work.

Besides the important Wen Kexing scenes,Wen Kexing's entire way of thinking. motives and behavior, are also the results of Gong Jun's hard work. This includes the differences in Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu's knowledge/perception.

Gong Jun: "Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu two people with completely different personalities, they save each other and complement each other."

Gong Jun: "I have a preference towards the process, the process itself is a form of enjoyment. All the efforts given isn't completely for the purpose of achieving a good result. But definitely, to have a good result is the best thing."

At this moment, Gong Jun thinks that the greatest benefit is being able to choose a script that he wants. He says: “Following this, I definitely have to put a heavy focus on acting, I am an actor after all, I hope to act in some suspense-themed works.”

Besides acting, are there any things you want to try?

Gong Jun: I want to sing, hahaha don't laugh, release my own song, fulfil my dream of having a small-sized concert hahaha.

Looking at your weibo, you are a loyal fan of gaming, which squad do you like?

Gong Jun: Hahaha, I am indeed a fan of gaming, I like all (the squads), I support them all.

Are there any special words you want to say to your fans?

Gong Jun: Thank you for supporting and liking me, I will carry your liking with me and continue to work hard, I hope we'll be prosperous together, be happy everyday.

최종보스 강휘...

Bad Ending : 明晳夢

당시 할나를 재미있게 했었는데 최종보스인 광휘랑 여강휘라는 이름의 어감이 비슷해서ㅋㅋㅋㅋ 패러디 식으로 그렸는데 더 생각해보니 하무열에게 있어서 가장 찬란했던 시간이자 흑역사였을 것 같아서 아이러니함에 잘 어울린다고 생각했었음... 그리고 아래는 이야기에 살을 더 붙여서 그린 그림...

이것도 장편 만화로 그리려고 이야기를 덜 풀고 있는데 나중에 시간 나면 그리고 싶다...

여기 그린 것까지만 쓰자면 하무열이 최종보스 강휘를 계속해서 마주하고 싸우는데 강휘에게 지면 누나와 행복했던 시절의 꿈을 꾸며 다시 처음 시작지점으로 돌아가서 깨는... 그런 스토리를 구상하고 그렸다

그래서 은성이 말풍선 속 글자 색도 강휘 그림자 색으로 했던 기억
