I figured that was why you didn't post it, apologies for wasting your time with it. I did read a reliable source about it, but then looking into it yesterday i found newer, more up to date info saying it wasn't a bird or any other sort of dinosaur at all.
(also, in my defence, my 'reliable' source still comes up as like the second result in google with no indication it's outdated. Shame on you LA NHM, you need to put an outdated banner on your article. (https://nhm.org/stories/tiny-dinosaur-and-big-discovery#:~:text=It%20was%20about%20the%20size,eyes%20and%20lots%20of%20teeth.))
Oh asks I delete are not wasting my time, you have nothing to apologize for
and yeah, you'd be surprised how hard it is for museums to keep up with things and correct misinfo. why do you think I want to get into museum work?

Week 8: Digital Citizenship and Software literacy: Instagram Filters
Face filters and editing programs that only hide or accentuate imperfections have become so commonplace in today's culture that people have forgotten how their bodies and features genuinely look. As a result, people may compare themselves to unrealistic standards set by social media, which could lead to an inaccurate sense of attractiveness and self-worth. Around 2010, Instagram introduced basic photo filters that altered the color and style of images. These weren't interactive or real-time filters, but they marked the beginning of social media image manipulation (YordStudio, 2020). During 2011, Instagram launched "live filters" which allowed users to see the filter effect while taking a picture and in late 2015, most people agree that this was the pivotal moment for social media filters. Snapchat debuted "lenses," interactive augmented reality (AR) filters that instantly added effects and animations to selfies using facial recognition technology. Similar to flower crowns or dog ears, these filters gained immense popularity.
Filters are a key tool for manipulating photos, smoothing imperfections, and altering appearances ans being able to understand how filters contribute to image manipulation is relevant to the book's themes. (Katz, Louise, 2021). Studies suggest a high prevalence of filter use. One study found over 90% of Bumble participants (women and non-binary people aged 18-30) used beauty filters or edited their photos on social media. A Dove Self-Esteem Project study revealed that 90% of women reported using a filter on photos before posting them online
Of course misused filter are also a controversial topic to debate, especially using Deepfakes to imitate the voice, the movement of characters, to fake out or to initiate hatred or being bashful and disrespectful to individual. Deepfakes are a subset of synthetic media in which photos or videos are altered to look authentic using machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI). They might be employed to give the impression that someone is talking or doing something they are not. People using Deepfakes for laughters, for fun without thinking any consequences, and it is really easy to use since AI has been developing nonstop. Donald Trump is one of the many celebrities that becomes a victim to the fake motion AI, as people consistently faked his speech or his camera movement by just a single click! Here is a footage of someone adjusting his speech into a clown.
For picture modification and self-expression, social media filters can be an imaginative and entertaining tool. They let users experiment with various aesthetics, edit images, and post a well-curated version of themselves online. But, it's critical to consider any possible drawbacks. Overuse of filters can impede real communication, contribute to unattainable beauty standards, and even cause mental health issues. The secret is to use it responsibly. Through a harmonious equilibrium between relishing filters and upholding a positive self-concept, individuals can adeptly traverse the virtual realm with assurance and genuineness.

The Importance of Dental Care
There are many reasons why dental care is important. Firstly, good dental hygiene helps prevent tooth decay and gum disease. These conditions can be extremely painful and may even lead to tooth loss if left untreated. Secondly, maintaining good oral health can prevent more serious health problems such as heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. Yup! So just make extra sure you brush (and floss) frequently. It’s not a huge dramatic increase, but it’s worth noting!
the two things they ACTUALLY don't warn you about when you go on testosterone are 1) the bellybutton lint, and 2) you will become the Very Hungry Caterpillar

Animal Anatomy for Creators: Dentition in Age, Illness, and Injury - Part 1
Source: Horses' teeth. Clarke, William H., Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons
Anyone watching a crime show knows how much we can tell about a person through their teeth. But what about animals? How can we translate perfectly-drawn anatomy to character?
Since teeth are used regularly in many species, they wear and change along with the animal’s history. Most animals have adult teeth for life. Some teeth are designed to grow fast enough to compensate for heavy wear, which can be problematic if the environment or diet changes (such as a domestic vs. wild rabbit).
I’m going to focus on species which don’t continually replace teeth, as I haven’t worked with a lot of crocodilians or sharks directly. I’ll need to do a bit more digging before I explore that topic.
Under the Cut (Part 1)
Diet & Dentition
Herbivores
Carnivores
In the future (because I got really tired and I need food)
Maybe an apology for biasing towards feline teeth
Omnivores
Specialized teeth
Wear types
Gum & Tooth Color
Infection & Abscess
Behavioral Impacts

Diet & Dentition
Herbivores

Note the difference in molar color between the older and younger hippos.
Source: European rabbit, skull, Coll. Museum Wiesbaden. Wikimedia Commons.
Herbivore teeth are the pickup trucks of dentition. They experience and need to be made for heavy, constant wear. Herbivores may chew fibrous, often starchy material that might be protected by thick cell walls or irritating structures.
Herbivorous teeth have evolved to compensate for this wear. In fact, when many herbivores don’t eat regularly, they are prone to conditions like overgrown teeth and ulcers.
These giant jawbones support strong chewing muscles. These animals are meant to be eating for most of the day.
Since I should have realized herbivore teeth pics would be harder to find, have a skull!
Source: giraffe skull model, Brevard Zoo.
Note the teeth for two main purposes: pulling and chewing. Get a look at those jawbones too. Those anchor very strong, very well-used muscles.
For some examples of abnormal wear, check out this veterinarian’s article on horse dental problems. This isn’t a perfect example of what occurs in wild animals but since we take closer looks at horse teeth it’s a nice set of pictures. Slight content warning for dental disease. https://www.texasequinedentist.com/equine-dental-care/common-equine-dental-problems.html#:~:text=Horse%20teeth%20wear%20in%20specific,issue%20for%20today's%20domestic%20horses.
Carnivores
Source: Clouded Leopard Mouth Open. Eric Kilby via Wikimedia Commons. (fox skull, seal skull)
Carnivorous animals eat less frequently, but need to remove and pick apart flesh from bone. They experience less frequent and more specialized use.
Consider several tigers and their dentition. What is different about them? Which individuals are older?
Source: https://www.flickr.com/photos/shebalso/528669501/
See: Pink gums, little discoloration, little signs of wear especially on the back teeth.
Source: Flehmen on a tiger. Wikimedia commons.
See: Wear, slight inflammation between gums/teeth, yellowing, missing incisor. Possibly a chip on the right upper canine? Could be the image quality. Look at the discoloration on those molars.
Source: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dont-know/3278985641/
See: What happened to those incisors? I’m pretty sure those are adult canine teeth and those usually come in last, and we can’t see the lower incisors....it could be that those are coming in and I’m just not sure on the tooth order. This cat doesn’t look old but I’m not sure what went on with the front teeth here.
Source: Young Panthera tigris altaica, Wikimedia Commons.
See: Here come the grownup canines! Notice some slight inflammation around the gums where they’re erupting, and how the rest of the teeth are whiter and healthy.

Journal Post: Week 2
Before reading this article, I would define design as creating something for human use, whether it is useful or for looks, that comes from the mind. Design can come in all shapes and forms, and it isn’t just one type of “design”. There are countless ways to understand design and humans can take it to the next level. Design is ever-changing. Design thinking in a product I use is an electric toothbrush. Standard toothbrushes can’t “clean” your mouth like they should, so designers have created what is known as an electric toothbrush. Designers included pulse action to take over the whole brushing motion. Ditching the whole manual cleaning has implemented an electric takeover. “Electric toothbrushes, especially those with heads that rotate in both directions, or 'oscillating' heads, are really effective at removing plaque. This helps keep tooth decay and gum disease at bay. Health experts have been speaking about the benefits of electric toothbrushes for many years. This latest piece of evidence is one of the strongest and clearest yet – electric toothbrushes are better for our oral health.” (Dentalhealthorg, 2019) A design in better toothbrushes will help keep our oral health in check and we are able to move in a brighter direction of better design for toothbrushes themselves. What I thought was the most significant conception from this week’s reading is the inspiration to ideation to implementation. You need inspiration to get an idea of what you want to design. You observe what you see and understand what can become something. You write everything important down. Then you get into the ideation of it. You brainstorm and create frameworks, etc. You test prototypes and then you execute your vision. That moves into the implementation section. You then can repeat the whole cycle and start again. Design is limitless and the possibilities are for you to decide.
