2020 Subaru Impreza Sport Review, Release, Price
2020 Subaru Impreza Sport Review, Release, Price– Modifications of Subaru made cycles for producing 5 years with considerable changes and modifications from the fifth or 4th calendar year. For Subaru Impreza 2020, it is actually not likely the business considers this gadget. Whatever we have is “big tiny changes” when the firm chooses to take into account the automobile, but without having…

HKS Super SQV4 Blow-Off Valve w/ Return Kit GRB/VAB for Subaru Impreza
HKS is excited to announce its all-new Black Edition of the Super SQV4 Blow-Off Valve with Return Kit for the 2008-2020 Subaru Impreza WRX | STI. The HKS Super SQV (Sequential Blow Off Valve) Kit uses a special valve structure and differential pressure control system to deliver the best results possible. This design is different than other kits on the market and allows for a wider operating range from low boost all the way to high boost. What’s more, this kit supports new generations of turbocharged vehicles, including stock and highly tuned models.
Click Here To View HKS Inventory
The HKS Super SQV kit maximizes the charge response that repeats pressure charging and pressurized air relief by the throttle on and off. It also ensures stable actuation through the adaptation of HKS’s own sequential valve structure and special pull-type relief design. As aforementioned, the Super SQV can operate across the entire pressure range without leaking – unlike pull-type BOVs out there. At low boost ranges, the primary valve opens; at high boost ranges, the secondary valve also opens, delivering a linear response and optimal blow-off operation no matter the level.
The new Black Edition of the HKS SQV4 Blow-Off Valve with Return Kit features a body and upper part that have been painted in a semi-gloss black color with a wrinkle-black coated funnel. Installing this product on your Subaru WRX | STI will deliver a unique, sharp, and high-frequency SQV sound that suits the sport compact car perfectly. This unit is designed to be located beside the engine to enhance the overall appearance of the underhood compartment and make it stand out at your next show or event.
Features:
A special color edition for the HKS Super SQV (Sequence Blow-Off Valve)
Significantly increases its presence and improves the engine compartment appearance.
Once HKS Super SQVIV is installed, its unique and sharp high-frequency sound demonstrates its existence.
To match with the appearance created by HKS Intercooler Piping Kit, the buff-polished casting pipe is included.
Blow-off valve kit is manufactured specifically for your vehicle application for perfect fitment and optimal performance.
Includes all flange and hoses required for a seamless installation process.
Fitment:

[11-5-2020] It doesn't feel like it but I bought my 2006 Subaru Legacy 2.5GT Spec.B (184/500) 2 years ago [11-3-2018]. I named it ZGMF-X13A "Providence" after the Providence Gundam from GundamSEED because the darker gray exterior and red interior reminds me of the Gundam's color sceme. I've said it many times but I love this car much more than my previous one (2002 Subaru Impreza WRX "BugEye" which I named ZGMF-X10A "Freedom" after the Gundam with the same name. There was also major significance why I named it that but that's a whole story on its own). My car is completely stock but when I'm done paying it off, there's many things I wanna do to it. I had an opportunity to get the hail damage taken care of [at no cost to me] but I never got around to it and that ship has sailed. Still wanna get the JDM double-din conversion done. Probably get the bolstering on the driver seat done as well as the motor on the passenger seat. Also, either get 5th gear fixed or look at swapping to a 6-speed. Seeing all these beautiful LGTs makes me jealous yet hopeful. EVENTUALLY, I'll get around to building my car to how I envision it. In the meantime, I just wanted to appreciate my car so I drove somewhere to take pictures of it. Because it's mine~ #Subaru #SubaruLegacy #SubaruLegacyGT #SubaruLegacySpecB #SpecB #LimitedEdition #SpecialEdition #Rare #Stock #Sleeper #Slacking #SubaruNation #Subie #SubieNation #FixerUpper #ILoveMyCar #Otaku #SuccessfullyUnSuccessful https://www.instagram.com/p/CHO2Rt5p2so/?igshid=9m0gfutam8sm

2020 Subaru Legacy review: A feature-rich sedan with a vanilla wrapper

2020 Subaru Legacy review: A feature-rich sedan with a vanilla wrapper
It won’t win any fashion contests, but the Legacy’s real beauty is found within.
Jon Wong/Roadshow
Despite not looking all that different, the 2020 Subaru Legacy pictured here is a brand-new sedan. And while it might not stir emotions with its design, those who look beneath the conservative sheet metal will discover a spacious interior chock full of new technology, not to mention a more robust chassis that makes the Legacy much nicer to drive.
Like
Standard all-wheel drive
Cushy ride comfort
Massive infotainment screen
Don’t Like
Bland exterior styling
Base engine is somewhat gutless
Beneath the skin
The 2020 Legacy rides on Subaru’s new global platform that also underpins the Ascent, Crosstrek, Forester, Impreza and Outback. This stiffer, stronger frame forms the bones of a sedan that’s about the same size as before, with a 108.3-inch wheelbase.
2020 Subaru Legacy: Sleepy styling, but filled with substance
See all photos
For those hoping the stiffer platform translates to tighter, more responsive handling, I’m sorry to say that’s not the case. Tossing the Legacy Sport into curves, you’ll experience some dive under braking and a bit of controlled roll at turn in. The car’s road-holding abilities are just OK through bends, but pushing it moderately hard results in howls from the 18-inch Yokohama Avid GT BluEarth tires. Even with the most aggressive Sport Sharp drive mode activated, the Legacy’s steering is numb off center, though weight builds progressively as you turn. The brakes boast strong initial bite at the top of the pedal stroke and are easy to modulate.
Where the Legacy really shines, though, is in the ride comfort department. The softer-sprung suspension and 50-series sidewall tires are great for comfy jogs around town, smoothing out impacts from bumps and ruts along the way.
Updated base and new turbo engine options
The 2020 Legacy has a new 2.4-liter turbo engine option that replaces the old boxer-six. Rated at 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque, it’s the same turbocharged flat-four you’ll find in the Ascent and Outback.
The 2.5-liter flat-four should return 35 mpg on the highway with all-wheel drive.
Jon Wong/Roadshow
My Sport trim, however, rocks an updated version of Subaru’s 2.5-liter naturally aspirated boxer-four with 182 hp and 176 lb-ft, mated to a continuously variable transmission and standard all-wheel drive. In the Sport Sharp setting, the engine delivers adequate grunt to get the Legacy hustling up to speed for highway merging. With the car in the default Intelligent mode, however, and acceleration is leisurely at best.
The Legacy’s CVT does a fairly seamless job of switching between ratios so the engine won’t annoyingly buzz like mad during wide-open throttle applications. Opting to change ratios yourself via the steering wheel paddles can be done, too, but the responses are so frustratingly muted that it’s best to let the computers handle “shifting.”
As for fuel economy, the base drivetrain setup returns an EPA-estimated 27 miles per gallon in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. That’s not shabby considering the Legacy comes standard with all-wheel drive.
The cabin is comfortable and cleanly styled.
Jon Wong/Roadshow
Clean styling with fresh tech
The Legacy is unquestionably understated compared to more fashionable midsize sedans like the latest Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Mazda6 and Nissan Altima. Even with the Sport model’s additional touches like its unique grille, black mirror caps, black wheels and trunk spoiler, the car simply gets lost in the crowd. Then again, if you prefer to fly under the radar, this might be the sedan for you.
Things do get more interesting inside, at least. The Legacy’s cabin is airy with a lot of glass letting in oodles of natural light. There’s generous room for passengers up front or in back, with the latter gaining an additional 1.4 inches of legroom compared to the old Legacy. The interior has a relatively straightforward design and everything is built from high-quality materials with leather-wrapped, soft-touch and nicely stitched surfaces throughout. Even the hard-plastic portions feel sturdy and are nicely finished. The seats are cushy, there are numerous cubbies to stash things and the trunk, with 15.1 cubic feet of space, will swallow just about anything you throw at it.
The 11.6-inch display is colorful and easy to use.
Jon Wong/Roadshow
There’s a massive, 11.6-inch center touchscreen housing the Subaru Multimedia Plus infotainment system. It’s packed full of goodies such as a TomTom navigation system, Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio and Bluetooth. While those occupy the middle portion of the display, the bottom houses climate adjustments like fan speed, vent settings and three-stage heated front seats. For the most part, I like the intuitive infotainment interface. It’s got big, clearly labeled icons and quickly swaps pages between different menu screens. Thankfully, Subaru doesn’t put everything in the touchscreen, with a couple of knobs and a few hard buttons on the side to adjust radio volume, tuning and cabin temperature.
On the driver-assistance technology front, every Legacy comes standard with Subaru’s EyeSight suite of features including adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist with lane-centering and pedestrian detection. My test car is also outfitted with available blind-spot monitoring, reverse automatic braking and lane-change assist that all work as advertised.
How I’d spec it
After spending a week with the serviceable, but slightly underwhelming base engine, my ideal Subaru Legacy would have to have the turbo. I’d go with the Limited XT that begins at $35,095, including $900 for destination. With options like heated seats, a heated steering wheel, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert standard, I’d leave it at that and be happy as a clam. It’s a fair amount more than the $30,090 car reviewed here, but trust me, if you can swing the turbo, get it.
The Legacy offers solid all-wheel-drive value.
Jon Wong/Roadshow
All-wheel drive value play
Midsize sedan entries offering all-wheel drive aren’t as sparse as before with the Nissan Altima and Toyota Camry now available with this tech, though the Legacy remains the only one in the category with it standard. And with its $23,645 base price, the Subaru is the most affordable option if you are on the hunt for a midsize sedan with power going to all four wheels. To get all-wheel drive in the Altima you’ll have to part with at least $26,575, while the Camry will set you back $27,365 to start.
Yes, the Legacy lacks standout style and isn’t a hoot behind the wheel, but it’s a very well-rounded, comfortable sedan, packed with tech and features a spacious cabin at an affordable price point. It won’t set hearts ablaze, but those are nevertheless some strong merits to stand on.

One of my New Years Resolutions for 2020, restore and fix my RS and start driving her again after putting it on the backburner for 3 years cause of getting scammed for a 22b kit 😭 but after driving her for the first time again after 3 years, it was a nostalgic moment lol Anyways, installed the version 6 wing today that I had sitting in storage for the longest time and an 04 sti steering wheel i got from a buddy of mine 😁👌🏻 probably gonna look for some sti front seats next to complete the interior and then get the exterior all one color and fix/replace the transmission so I can daily her again. —— #Subaru #Impreza #25rs #Wrx #Sti #Gc8 #Nasioc #Rs25 #PristineParts #OsakaOutlaw #JohnFobMovement #Element6Design #TNAautosports #EighthSicGc8 https://www.instagram.com/p/B6zJzfLnx9x/?igshid=h395f63a8grx

New Crossovers Under $20,000 (Plus Other Cars to Consider)
You ready for the truth? Very few crossovers start under $20,000. But wait! Before you go, let us show you highlights from new crossovers you can get for around $20,000 (including destination, before incentives). Plus, we’ll reveal a few surprises—cars that deliver part of the subcompact SUV experience you crave for an equally affordable price.
Curious? Let’s dive in.
Nissan Kicks
A debate rages on about what distinguishes an SUV from a hatchback-pretender, but one thing’s for sure: Nissan is going for a crossover look with the front-drive Kicks. Serving as Nissan’s entry-level crossover, the Kicks is more spacious than you think and, unfortunately, louder than you may like. A CVT automatic is standard, but the SR’s available Bose sound system—one we said was better than what you’ll find in an entry-level Bentley SUV—is out of reach.
Feature highlights on a $20,000 Nissan Kicks: Automatic emergency braking, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and three USB ports.
What you don’t get at $20,000: Alloy wheels, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, the awesome extra-cost two-tone paint options on higher trims.
More on cheap SUVs:
11 Well-Equipped SUVs Under $25,000
10 Best SUVs Under $25,000 for New Grads
Kia Soul
The 2020 Kia Soul picks up where the last-gen model left off, in a gray area between blocky hatchback and small crossover. However you classify this bold four-door, call it affordable. Because for under 20 grand, a base Soul LX comes with a more powerful 147-hp four-cylinder to the Kicks’ 122 hp. Then again, even though the Kia has a longer driving range, the Nissan is more efficient in the city and on the highway. The front-drive-only Kia boasts a higher seating position than you might get in other $20,000 hatchbacks.
Feature highlights on a $20,000 Kia Soul: Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an available interior color other than black.
What you don’t get at $20,000: Alloy wheels, automatic emergency braking.
Chevrolet Spark Activ
The Spark subcompact hatch is about as far away from SUV as you can get, but if all you really want at this price are SUV-like styling details, the Activ trim could do the trick. We might choose other cars at this price point, but the Spark Activ does come with black cladding all over, tall roof rails, and an advanced four-wheel-drive system inspired by the comparison-winning Chevrolet Colorado. We’re just kidding, of course; the Spark Activ gets front-wheel drive and a raised suspension.
Feature highlights on a $20,000 Chevrolet Spark Activ: Lots of color choices, leatherette seats, alloy wheels, and money in your pocket.
What you don’t get at $20,000: Respect from owners of real SUVs, a spacious interior, more than 98 horsepower.
Subaru Impreza
All-wheel drive at $20,000 (before taxes) is a tough ask, but Subaru is up to that budget challenge. In sedan or hatchback form, the 2019 Impreza compact offers standard all-wheel drive at just $20,000. We hope you don’t mind shifting the car’s standard five-speed manual, however, as the $1,000 CVT automatic pushes the Impreza sedan and hatch above $20,000. Active safety tech including automatic emergency braking is also just out of the budget, but if AWD is a must-have and you can’t swing payments on the mechanically related Crosstrek—a MotorTrend favorite—the Impreza could work.
Feature highlights on a $20,000 Subaru Impreza: Standard AWD, choice of sedan or hatchback body style, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto.
What you don’t get at $20,000: Subaru’s full suite of advanced active safety tech, SUV-like design cues.
Honda Fit
Before the next-gen Honda Fit arrives potentially with a Spark Activ–like trim, the current hatch offers way more space inside for people and stuff than you’d think. The interior is incredibly flexible, and because the 2019 Fit has absolutely no crossover curb appeal, you can get tons of standard equipment under $20,000. Plus, we’re fans of the Fit.
Feature highlights on a $20,000 Honda Fit: An available moonroof, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto on the Fit EX. Or sporty styling on the less expensive Fit Sport.
What you don’t get at $20,000: The Honda HR-V’s crossover styling, the upcoming Fit’s potential improvements.
What Else?
A number of other crossovers and crossover-like cars are available for around $20,000 after some aggressive incentives. The Hyundai Kona, a comparison-winning crossover and SUV of the Year finalist, slips in after a current cashback offer. After some negotiating, the fun but cramped Mazda CX-3 could fit this budget, too. The Ford EcoSport is also in this tiny crossover class, but even with the deals you can get, we wouldn’t recommend it.
New Crossovers Under $20,000 (Plus a Few Others)
Nissan Kicks
Kia Soul
Chevrolet Spark Activ
Hyundai Kona
Mazda CX-3
Subaru Impreza
Honda Fit

First Drive: 2019 Subaru Ascent
MCMINNVILLE, Oregon — Much to Subaru’s regret, mid-size three-row family sport/utilities all look pretty much the same. Subaru, the automaker that has successfully grown its business as a quirky brand full of SUVs for people who don’t like SUVs, tried unsuccessfully to buck convention with its 2005-14 Tribeca. Subaru needs a seven- to eight-passenger model for its very enthusiastic fans, so what is it supposed to do?
The idea of a stretched, three-row Subaru Outback Grande did come up, planning manager Peter Tenn admitted to me at the Ascent’s first-drive program. The automaker nearly lost its way with a Toyota Highlander-based Tribeca replacement it began planning after Japan’s number-one automaker bought a minority stake in Subaru. While Toyota got a boxer engine-powered sports car shared with the BRZ under that deal, Subaru wisely stepped away from a program that would have netted the marque an SUV with an inline four and maybe a V-6. The 2019 Subaru Ascent’s new, 2.4-liter turbo H-4 sits low in the engine bay, and lends this conservative looking family hauler the distinction of being among the best vehicles over 70 inches tall (71.6 inches, with its standard roof rack) in terms of ride and handling.
Based on the new Subaru Global Platform, the Ascent is the third model on this architecture after the Impreza and Crosstrek. The next Forester becomes the fourth such model later this year. Even with a widened and lengthened version of SGP, the Ascent design has not been “protected” to accommodate an H-6 engine—just the H-4, in this case a 2.4-liter turbo one rated at 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet, and of course hooked up to a Lineartronic CVT with Hill Descent Control and selectable eight-speed manual shift mode (with paddle shifters) feeding the standard Symmetrical All-Wheel-Drive.
That means that when the next-generation Subaru Legacy and Outback premier in time for the 2020 model year, they will almost certainly be four-cylinder only. The marque will also introduce a plug-in hybrid later this year. It’s expected to be a Crosstrek, AWD of course, based on the Prius Prime technology from partner/16.4-percent shareholder Toyota, which should turn out to be a much better deal for Subaru than the rejected plan to base the Ascent on the Highlander.
The 2019 Subaru Ascent feels nicely planted, handling the curvy roads near Coastal Oregon, some 50 miles south of Portland—where Outbacks are as common as Ford F-150s elsewhere in the country—without giving up comfort over uneven road surfaces. The chassis is fairly firm over bumps, like any 4,500-pound SUV with 18- or 20-inch wheels, but overall, the ride-handling balance compares closest to the smaller Mazda CX-5, and that’s a big compliment.
Its steering precision and feel is exceptional. Subaru concentrated on steering that doesn’t require the sort of minute corrections that can fatigue the driver, Tenn says, and the engineers succeeded. Tall SUVs typically are better with steering that’s not so quick it becomes twitchy at higher speeds, and that usually results in the need for minor steering corrections through long, sweeping turns. The Ascent’s combo of a relatively low center of gravity, and the well-tuned steering makes that unnecessary.
There’s also a distinct lack of head toss over bumps and pavement dips, which can help reduce fatigue among the kids and dogs on those long family vacations.
The new 2.4-liter turbo is all the engine the big SUV needs, with aggressive throttle tip-in and a wide torque band that nicely covers the midrange. There is no turbo lag in a straight line, though there’s some minor stumble coming out of tight corners. Try the CVT’s paddle shifters, which I did only after my drive partner prompted me, and you’ll be pleasantly surprised by crisp, torque converter-like upshifts and downshifts, though the CVT upshifts itself as you approach redline.
Its tow capacity of 5,000 pounds, most-ever for a Subaru, was demonstrated with a sleek Airstream trailer hooked up, on a piece of parking lot at the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum, home of Howard Hughes’ Spruce Goose. The Ascent’s tow control made pulling the Airstream smooth and easy, at least in this limited space. Subaru says it recorded a 14.7-second 0-60 mph time with the Ascent pulling a 5,000-pound test sled.
Like most Subarus, the Ascent is designed to attract the REI crowd, which means, potentially, a bit of light off-roading. The Subaru Ascent is no Jeep, though, at least not in its all-season tires. The standard X-Mode variable transfer clutch lock control changes the AWD mapping and throttle control, and kicks in the Hill Descent Control, but the tires required me to use some momentum to traverse some Pacific coast sand to the lunch spot. Symmetric AWD and the HDC will get you up and down a steep gravel quarry, but not without some slippage with these tires.
Speaking of which, the tire/wheel size make a difference on the EPA test cycle. This is unusual, because most car and SUV models (though not trucks, with their multiple variations) are usually counted as in one test-weight category. But the Subaru Ascent base and Premium trim models, with 18-inch wheels, are rated 21/27-mpg city/highway, with 23 combined, while the Limited and Touring models, with 20-inch wheels, are rated 20/26-mpg city/highway and 22 combined. With its 19.3-gallon tank, the Ascent boasts a 500-plus mile range.
All trim models, from the $32,970 base model on-up comes with Subaru’s EyeSight automated driver assist technology, including pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure and sway warning with lane keep assist, pre-collision throttle management and the new EyeSight Assist Monitor, which flashes alerts on the windshield via head-up display.
Base, Premium, and Limited Ascents come with a second-row bench seat for eight-passenger seating, while the Ascent Touring comes standard with comfy captains chairs in the second row—and every factory option plus exclusive Java brown leather interior trim standard—for $45,670 all-in. You can order the captains chairs for the second row of the Ascent Limited and Premium, and these chairs come with a nice little feature: grab handles for the third row passengers on the outer tops of the seats, inspired by the grab handles on Japan’s Shinkansen bullet train.
The interiors are rather warm and inviting, premium enough for a commodity brand. Imitation wood accents, when used, looks fairly convincing, and the Ascent Premium has heated cloth seats and imitation carbon-fiber interior accents, the latter in an odd (quirky?) cream color. The third row is advertised as a full third row seat, with 60/40 split and three cupholders on each side so the kids or dogs can stow their toys, as well as drinks and mobile phones. Comfort for adults back there depends on how far forward the second row seats are slid, which of course can affect comfort in that second row, but even without filling all seven or eight seats, I’m pretty confident in saying the Ascent is one of the more comfortable big-family SUVs available for under $50,000.
There’s also a large compartment under the rear load floor, useful for stowing a bag of dog food for long family trips. Cargo capacity ranges from 17.8 cubic feet with the second and third row raised, to 86.5 cubic feet with them lowered, or 86.0-flat if you order the panoramic moonroof. And there are the much-discussed 19 cupholders scattered around the interior.
Quirky, for sure, but the 2019 Subaru Ascent maintains its marque’s flavor most by delivering maximum family usefulness combined with the inherent ride/handling advantages of its low-CG boxer engine.

7 Cheapest Cars to Own: Did Your Favorite Make the List?
We all know that the price you pay at the dealership isn’t the final indicator of how much a vehicle will cost. You have to take into account a whole host of factors, including depreciation, insurance, maintenance, repairs, financing, state fees, and fuel to understand how much your car will truly cost to operate. With this in mind, we have compiled a list of seven cars with the lowest cost of ownership over a five-year period, based on data from our partners at IntelliChoice.
Honda Fit
5-Year Ownership Cost: $24,991–$29,189
IntelliChoice Value Rating: Excellent
The Honda Fit is a marvel in interior packaging, with reconfigurable seats that allow you to store a bike, small couch, or even a surfboard inside. Along with its 40-mpg highway fuel economy rating, its low cost of ownership also makes it a very practical car.
Chevrolet Spark
5-Year Ownership Cost: $26,143–$30,108
IntelliChoice Value Rating: Average
This tiny car comes with a tiny starting price of $14,095. It also benefits from a low cost of ownership—and whimsical color options, including Passion Fruit, Raspberry, Caribbean Blue Metallic, and Orange Burst Metallic.
Kia Rio
5-Year Ownership Cost: $27,560–$28,057 (sedan), $28,418 (hatchback)
IntelliChoice Value Rating: Above Average (sedan), Average (hatchback)
When the Rio hatch competed in our 2018 Car of the Year competition, we were surprised how refined it had become. It offers a solid, quiet ride and a high-quality interior. This subcompact also impresses in sedan form.
Toyota Yaris sedan
5-Year Ownership Cost: $25,359–$27,470
IntelliChoice Value Rating: Excellent
The Yaris sedan is essentially a rebadged Mazda2. It slots below the larger Corolla as a subcompact car, packing a 1.5-liter four-cylinder making just 106 hp. But at least it achieves a favorable fuel economy rating of 32/40/35 mpg city/highway/combined.
Subaru Impreza
5-Year Ownership Cost: $28,187–$31,635 (sedan), $31,867–$31,867 (wagon)
IntelliChoice Value Rating: Above Average (sedan), Excellent (wagon)
Available as a sedan or wagon, the Subaru Impreza benefits from excellent visibility, a well-mannered CVT, and a ride that minimizes road imperfections.
Hyundai Accent
5-Year Ownership Cost: $28,350–$31,146
IntelliChoice Value Rating: Average
Hyundai dropped the Accent hatchback, but the sedan is still kicking. Driving dynamics have improved with the recent redesign, and this subcompact boasts a generous amount of standard features on each trim level.
Kia Soul
5-Year Ownership Cost: $27,203–$31,913
IntelliChoice Value Rating: Above Average–Excellent
The Soul has a lot to offer, including a powerful turbocharged engine, quick steering, and a spacious interior. Our data references the outgoing 2019 model, but we expect the redesigned 2020 version will remain a great deal.
