2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB: Compact SUV, Redesign, Powertrain, Price. The all-new Mercedes GLB has been caught during the testing and from the spy shots, we can conclude that the brand’s latest SUV will be a combination of familiar boxy design and some modern new details. In terms of dimensions, the GLB will stand between the small GLA and the larger C-Class, GLC. When it comes to the styling, the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB will be inspired by the G-Class model.
The newest Mercedes GLB will use the same platform which is used in the A-Class and B-Class. Like the A-Class, the brand-new GLB will most likely offer similar engine options. The GLB’s main competitors will include BMW X2, Jeep Renegade, Volvo XC40, and Audi Q2.
Engines and performances of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB will most likely use the same engines which power the newest A-Class model. And there will be several-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The base unit will be a 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine which is able to deliver 163 horses and 184 pound-feet of torque.
For the European market, there will be a diesel option. It is a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine which will have the output of 116 horses and the torque of 192 pound-feet. This powertrain will work with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
On the other hand, the newest GLB also available with a plug-in hybrid engine, but we still not get information about the exact specifications.
Exterior and interior
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB will ride on the updated version of the MFA2 platform which underpins the A-Class and B-Class models too. Looking its exterior, the new GLB will feature a typical boxy, SUV shape which is inspired by the G-Class model.
The cabin of the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB will look very similar to the one of the A-Class model. The dashboard will be covered with black fabric; it will feature a large, most likely 10.25-inch touchscreen with latest MBUX infotainment system. The upcoming Mercedes should arrive with a 64-color lighting system, wood trim, all-digital instrument cluster, navigation, voice control, and so on.
Release date and price
The 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB should enter the market sometime during 2020. Its starting price should be in a range from $38,000-41,000.

2020 Mercedes-Benz CLA spy shots and video
https://bestcaritems.com/?p=6177&utm_source=SocialAutoPoster&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=Tumblr Despite Mercedes-Benz having just launched a new A-Class compact sedan, the automaker’s other compact sedan, the CLA, won’t be disappearing after the current model runs its course. A redesigned CLA has been spotted once again, this time with minimal camouflage gear. The car is due for a reveal next spring as a 2020 model, meaning it will trail the A-Class sedan by about a year. Thanks to the latest shots, we can already tell the new CLA will resemble a scaled-down version of the latest CLS. You’ll notice Mercedes’ sportier Panamericana grille poking out of the camouflage gear on the tester’s nose. Compared to the A-Class sedan, the roof line is lower on the CLA. The C-pillar also tapers back more gracefully, creating a coupe-like profile. But the CLA is very much a sedan, so don’t start calling it a coupe. If you happen to disagree, this article will enlighten you. Underpinning the car is an updated version of the MFA (Modular Front-drive Architecture) platform used by Mercedes for its current compacts. Referred to as MFA2, the updated platform brings weight savings plus the capacity for alternative drivetrains. Standard powertrains should be turbocharged inline-4s. There should also be high-performance inline-4s for CLA35 and CLA45 models from AMG. The latter could have more than 400 hp. The MFA2-based cars will also benefit from a much more advanced interface. Dubbed MBUX, short for Mercedes-Benz User Experience, the new interface features digital screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, much like on the pricier E-Class and S-Class models. However, there’s also touch capability for the infotainment screen and you’ll also be able to use natural speech to control many vehicle functions. Mercedes-Benz MBUX user interface Production of the new CLA for the United States is tipped to take place at a plant in Mexico, while for other countries production could take place in China or Hungary. A new generation of the CLA Shooting Brake is also planned, but like the current model it isn’t expected in the U.S. It’s still too early to talk pricing but expect the new CLA to come in at roughly the same $33k starting price as the current model. The A-Class sedan is expected to be priced from about $30k, which is where the current CLA started when it was introduced for 2014. The success of Mercedes’ current-generation compacts, of which more than two million have been sold since they first arrived in 2012, has prompted Mercedes to add three more compacts to its lineup. In addition to the A-Class sedan, we can also look forward to a GLB SUV. Via MotorAuthority
