Used Vehicle Market Overview
Key Report Findings
The global used vehicle market was valued at over US$1.5 trillion in 2021.
The average age of a used vehicle in the U.S. is 11.8 years.
In 2020, 40.4 million used vehicles were sold in the U.S., compared to 14.5 million new vehicles.
The top-selling used car brands in the U.S. are Toyota, Honda, and Ford.
The Asia Pacific region is expected to account for a significant market share over the forecast period.
The average mileage of used cars sold in the U.S. is 68,000 miles.
Growth Drivers
Affordability and the Need for Private Conveyance
According to the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA), the automotive industry contributes about 4% to the global GDP, which is estimated to grow at a CAGR of 20.78% by 2028. This highlights the increasing global car ownership, with a substantial share attributed to used car ownership. The launch of new entry-level cars also boosts demand, impacting used vehicle sales.
Despite the shorter ownership duration of new cars, the used car segment offers a wealth of options for first-time car buyers who find it safe to buy second-hand cars until they become proficient daily drivers.
Franchise Dealers Aim to Offer Better Financial Schemes
Competitive pricing has been a significant advantage for companies in the used vehicle market. This market benefits from substantial investments by key industry participants who are setting up new dealership networks. Online sales of pre-owned cars are a critical growth factor for the global used vehicle market. However, financing options for used vehicles are relatively expensive compared to new cars, posing a potential challenge to market growth.
The used vehicle market is expected to benefit significantly from certified used vehicle programs. Franchise dealers offering better financial schemes have created favorable conditions for used car sales. Several online platforms, such as Vroom and Fair, have partnered with OEMs to ensure the reliability of their certified used vehicle programs.
Compact Passenger Cars Segment to Lead, SUVs to Follow
Compact or entry-level cars are expected to account for the largest volume share in the used vehicle market. This aligns with growing consumer preferences for economical and compact passenger cars. From the supply side, high production rates and significant inventories favor franchise owners, leading to better supply chain management.
Conversely, SUVs are on a profitable growth trajectory, offering both spacious and compact attributes compared to premium vehicles. Their high distribution network and residual value drive the rising demand for SUVs.
Key Market Players Engaging in Used Car Dealerships
Historically, automotive industry operators focused on new vehicles, but the potential and market worth of used vehicles are now recognized. Global auto giants are actively involved in used vehicle dealerships, responding to intense competition and shifting consumer behavior. New entrants, often unorganized local companies, are likely to form strategic partnerships, adding to the market's fragmented nature.
Luxury car brands, such as Mercedes and Audi, have established used car dealerships, contributing significantly to their revenue. Used passenger cars enjoy a larger share in the global market, prompting several brands to launch specific networks for used cars, like Toyota’s U Trust and Maruti Suzuki’s True Value. Mainstream companies are also investing in strategic expansions through collaborations.
Growth Challenges
Adoption of Ride Sharing Trend
While ride sharing offers economical transportation, it poses challenges for used car dealers and financers. Fewer car owners over a vehicle's lifespan reduce transaction volumes in the used vehicle market. However, the COVID-19 pandemic has shifted attitudes towards private conveyance, boosting demand for used vehicles, especially in developing economies, due to their affordability. The temporary negative impact on new vehicle sales could benefit the used vehicle market.
Growth Opportunities Across Regions
Used Car Market to Gain Traction in Asia Pacific
North America is expected to hold a significant share of the global used vehicle market over the forecast period, driven by an extensive presence of used vehicle dealers, favorable economic growth, financing availability, and the popularity of SUVs and trucks. In contrast, the Asia Pacific region is projected to experience significant growth, supported by higher disposable incomes, booming populations, urbanization, and increasing car popularity.
Key Market Players – Used Vehicle Landscape
Prominent companies in the global used vehicle market include True Car, Droom Technology Pvt Ltd., CarMax Inc., Penske Automotive Groups, Lithia Motors, Pendragon PLC, and Emil Frey Classics AG. Established industry players are focusing on new product launches, partnerships, collaborations, acquisitions, and alliances to gain a competitive edge.

No need for an RV with these great camping cars

No need for an RV with these great camping cars
Consider this the summer in limbo, and not just because we have to bend over backwards to make any plans at all. With summer plans scrambled due to the coronavirus pandemic and more Americans wary of airline travel and hotel stays, it’s time to restore that timeless American adventure and hit the road.
It won’t take an RV or a vacation rental to explore America’s national treasures while still maintaining distance from other Americans. Camping requires some gear—glamping requires an excess—but our list of camper-ready vehicles come from the factory ready for adventure.

The versatile family hauler can become a cabin on wheels if the weather becomes unbearable. Available now in all-wheel drive, the 2021 Pacifica comes with second- and third-row seats that fold into the floor (the hybrid model does not come with second-row Stow ‘N Go seats). Other vans have heavy, removable seats that become a pain in a pinch, such as during that surprise hail storm or when that shrill animal cry gets closer. And closer. With 140.5 cubic feet of space behind the front seats and room enough to fit four-by-eight sheets of plywood, the Pacifica could fit a full-sized inflatable mattress with just a little squeezing on the side. If that’s not enough space, it can tow up to 3,600 pounds (when a $995 towing package is equipped), good enough to tow everything from recreational toys to small travel trailers.
2020 Subaru Outback
2020 Subaru Outback
2020 Subaru Outback
2020 Subaru Outback
The poster child for the outdoorsman, the predecessor to the do-it-all SUV, the Swiss army knife of cars, the Sultan of Swat, the King of Crash, the Colossus of Clout—you get it, even if you’ve never seen “The Sandlot” or visited Colorado. The Outback is all grown up, and handles suburban outings with the same capability as back-country romps. The low, wide, flat floor, and wide door openings make loading and unloading gear a cinch, and dogs love jumping in and out. Collapsible roof racks with tie downs come standard, as does all-wheel drive and a slew of safety features. Available water-repellent interiors, skid plates, a trailer hitch with 3,500-pound towing capacity and so many aftermarket roof-top tent options make this classic as modern as ever. And it’s the only vehicle on our list that can answer the call of the wild with efficient urban driving.
2020 Honda Ridgeline
2017 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition
2018 Honda Ridgeline
2018 Honda Ridgeline
Any pickup truck could make our list, but since the Ridgeline shares a platform with the Honda Pilot crossover SUV, it’s the smoothest-riding pickup and our pick for an impromptu camper. The truck bed extends from 64 inches to 83 inches with the tailgate down, which is long enough to be a makeshift bed in a pinch. With 50 inches across, a twin mattress could fit, or a full-size could get squeezed by the wheel wells. If not being used as a pillow, the dual-action tailgate swings out to the left for easier bed access and a clever floor locker can double as a cooler. A truck-bed audio system on the RTL-E trim sweetens the deal, and an available bed extender or roof-mounted bike carrier means you can bring along the toys. There are some pretty sweet aftermarket tents that extend over the bed, as well.
2020 Jeep Gladiator

2020 Jeep Gladiator
2020 Jeep Gladiator
Jeep’s mid-size pickup truck, or the Wrangler with a bed, offers all the capability of a Wrangler with the added versatility of a pickup that can tow up to 7,650 pounds. And you can take off the roof and doors for a night under the stars. For off-roaders, the long wheelbase limits its breakover angle compared to the Wrangler, though there are few places that would worry the Gladiator. The 5-foot steel cargo bed might not be the best for sleeping, but the available Trail Rail system with a 115-volt AC outlet and all the Mopar parts means you can equip the Gladiator in a way that tells others: “I’ll sleep when I die.”
2020 Dodge Durango SRT

2018 Dodge Durango SRT first drive
2020 Dodge Durango SRT
As much as we love the performance from the 475-hp 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 in the Durango SRT, we prize the three-row SUV here for its towing capacity of up to 8,700 pounds ($1,195 package required), which is the most for any SUV not based on a truck. That’s good enough to tow some 30-foot travel trailers, and when you unhitch it at the campsite you can cruise around the local sights with gusto. Or find a straight to hit 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Careful on arriving at the campground late or leaving early; the unabashed V-8 rumble might cause your neighbors to enact social distancing in a much more hostile way. It seats six, too, with comfy buckets in the first two rows, so if you had to sleep in the car, you could recline and cocoon yourself in blankets or catch a flick on the rear entertainment center ($1,995). That’s not really camping but at least you’re out of the house.
2020 Toyota Land Cruiser
2020 Toyota Land Cruiser
2020 Toyota Land Cruiser
2020 Toyota Land Cruiser
It doesn’t matter that this three-row SUV is nearly old enough to get its own driver’s license, the Land Cruiser is beloved the world over for its rugged capability and SUV versatility. The 381-hp V-8 and truck frame give this heavy 4×4 the kind of off-road confidence expected in a truck but with a boxy body. It seats eight but no one will be happy about that. The third row can never get out of its own way, however, even if it’s split and swung out to rest against the wall. The off-road ready Heritage Edition deletes the third row to seat five, and comes with a mega roof rack coveted by posers and brozers alike. Options are limited but tow hooks, skid plates, mud-and-snow tires, a split liftgate/tailgate, and an integrated hitch capable of towing 8,100 pounds come standard. What it lacks in interior refinement and features, the Land Cruiser makes up for in bona fide go-anywhere capability. It’s not the roomiest if you need to crash in it overnight, but there are so many aftermarket accessories and roof-top tents you may never need to.
2020 Land Rover Defender
2020 Land Rover Defender
2020 Land Rover Defender, 2019 LA Auto Show
2020 Land Rover Defender, 2019 LA Auto Show
Land Rover might be the only brand with an off-road reputation on par with the Land Cruiser, and the return of the boxy Defender two- or four-door SUV puts the British brand firmly back in the bush. Thick bumpers, big wheels, heavy cladding, and a tailgate-mounted spare belie the blend of luxury and rugged finishes found inside, such as a touchscreen, alpine lights, and exposed rivets. The Defender X off-road model has locking center and rear differentials, and all Defenders come with four-wheel drive and 11.5-inches of ground clearance, which is nearly an inch more than a Wrangler. An available jump seat could let you sit three up front to get the best shots on safari, and other options such as a 1.7-gallon water reservoir for cleaning off muddy pets or shoes, an electric winch, or roof and side carriers let you customize your outback adventure. The various “packs” are almost as cool as the Defender itself; the Adventure Pack comes with a seat backpack and integrated air compressor.
2022 Volkswagen Microbus
Volkswagen ID Buzz electric bus concept with 1964 VW Microbus
Like the Defender, the Bus is back. Almost. And when it arrives for 2022 as the ID Buzz or the Electric Bus or whatever it’s going to be called, it will be an all-electric van. Little is known about the reboot of the 60s counterculture icon except that it will be a key part of Volkswagen Group’s plans to build 27 different electric vehicles across all brands. Since most established campgrounds have electricity, finding one with EV chargers is getting easier. Ride on, plug in, drop out.

Xe MG cua nuoc nao san xuat? Top cac mau xe MG tai thi truong Viet

“Passenger car to be the largest market for automotive glazing, by vehicle type”
Passenger cars include vehicles such as hatchback, SUVs, and sedans. According to OICA, the production of passenger cars accounted for the maximum share of the total global vehicle production for all the regions including in 2020 and is expected to dominate during the forecast period. Due to the better adaptability to complex design and glass-like transparency, nearly all vehicles are equipped with polycarbonate front and rear lightings. Applications such as sunroof and rear quarter glass, which are used mainly in passenger cars, are estimated to have high potential for polycarbonate installation. With the increasing installation of sunroof and rear quarter glass applications in passenger cars and usage of polycarbonate for these applications, passenger car is estimated to be the largest segment by vehicle type.
“BEV is projected to be the fastest-growing Automotive Glazing Market for electric vehicle”
Vehicle weight reduction is the predominant criteria in BEVs. As polycarbonate usage in glazing will reduce the vehicle weight by 20–25 kg, it will have a huge impact on the BEV range. Additionally, a majority of BEVs such as Tesla Model X, Model S, Model 3, and BMW i3 fall under the premium vehicle category Premium vehicles are equipped with sunroof and rear quarter glass. These applications are estimated to garner a high potential for polycarbonate glazing. Increasing sales of BEVs coupled with the increasing penetration of polycarbonate glazing applications will result in BEV being the fastest-growing segment.

As consumers in the region are showing an increased inclination toward convenience and safety, the region has witnessed higher growth than the matured markets of Europe and North America. Because of high vehicle production, the total market size is greater than North American and Europe because of which Asia Oceania is estimated to be the largest Automotive Glazing Market.
Some of the key players in the Automotive Glazing Market are SABIC (Suadi Arabia), Covestro AG (Germany), Teijin (Japan), Webasto SE (Germany), Trinseo (US), Mitsubishi (Japan), Chi Mei Corporation (Taiwan), Freeglass (Germany), KRD Sicherheitstechnik (Germany), and Idemitsu (Japan). SABIC and Covestro adopted the strategies of expansion, and new product development, to retain their leading position in the Automotive Glazing Market.

Testing, testing... Autocar‘s top new car reviews of 2020
Whether it's a new trim level, an addition to the engine line-up, a complete overhaul or an entirely new model, if it's new we want to drive it. Against the odds, you might say, 2020 has been a particularly busy year for the Autocar reviews desk, with everything from £300,000 SUVs to hybrid superminis passing under our microscope. It's only been on sale since the start of 2020 but already the Puma is well on its way up the bestsellers list. Clearly, See: bluedriver lsb2 review. Ford's pilfering of a hallowed 1990s nameplate for a Fiesta-based crossover was a canny marketing decision, and you know what? Put the curvy old coupé next to its modern namesake on a particularly bendy bit of road, and the taller car won't embarrass itself half as badly as you might expect. Plus, it's got a hidden storage box in the boot and fuel-saving mild hybrid tech. No wonder it only just missed out on a five-star verdict.First there was the Beetle, then came the Golf and now we have this: an all-electric family hatchback that begins Volkswagen's third age but blends elements of the two that came before. Thus, it's a sensibly sized five-door family hatchback (there's your Golf) with a motor at the rear (there's your Beetle) and a charging port on its rear flank (there's your future...). Important, for sure, then. But does it truly move the game along? You can hardly say we've not given the new Defender a good going-over. Fully aware of how crucial the model's successful revival was - not just to Land Rover, but to its hordes of loyal fans - we tested its off-road mettle in Namibia before returning to the UK to try multiple variants on our battered tarmac, stage a vital off-road showdown with its key rivals and then conduct a full road test. The long and short of it? Forget its more rounded edges and higher list price, this is a Land Rover Defender that thoroughly deserves to wear its badge."You're looking at the quickest car in the world." If that sentence doesn't hook you in, we don't know what will. But this is no gratuitously gushing opening salvo; the 641bhp Turbo S variant of the latest Porsche 911 is truly in a class of its own on a point-to-point dash across the twisties, and our tester reckons whatever was joining you for the journey would stay firmly in the rear-view mirror. Whether it's also "the best supercar" in the world is another matter entirely, however...The most potent series-production Golf was always going to cause a stir, and when it promises not just enhanced straight-line performance over its predecessor, but also to excel dynamically, you know it's going to be something special. Our first stint at the helm failed to disappoint, and chances are when it touches down on UK roads in the next few weeks, the Honda Civic Type R will be quaking in its boots.A brand with the esteemed sporting reputation of Porsche was never going to have an easy time launching its first electric car. The original Cayenne, diesel Panamera and four-cylinder-powered 718 were each controversial in their own right, but pale in comparison to the prospect of a 2.3-tonne, four-door EV from Stuttgart - with a Turbo badge on the back, no less. Just as well then, that the Taycan - even in ludicrously quick 751bhp Turbo S guise - manages to conceal the heft of its electric innards to the extent that it can behave like a true sports car that doesn't need the "...and it's electric" caveat. Our 100th Porsche road test and the first EV to land five stars: a milestone indeed. Not one to rest on its laurels, Toyota has completely reinvented its best-selling Yaris supermini. The fourth-generation car doesn't just mark a radical design departure from its predecessor, but also offers more space, improved efficiency and - perhaps most surprisingly - boosted driver appeal. It's one of the priciest cars in its segment courtesy of its hybrid-only powertrain, but with character and charm high on its list of traits, it's a welcome return to form for one of our long-time favourite urban runarounds.Ten years ago, if you'd have said a company called Tesla would be battling another company called Polestar for executive EV supremacy, we'd have told you to go and have a lie...

2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz Spied: This Compact Pickup’s for Urban Adventurers
We spotted a camouflaged 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz crossover-based pickup on a trailer in the middle of the SoCal desert, possibly en route to Death Valley for some real life testing in hotter-than-hot conditions. After all, we saw a temperature of 110 degrees at the location we saw the truck, suitable to give any vehicle a healthy workout.
Hyundai has been teasing us with the Santa Cruz for a very long time—since the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, in fact, when it was introduced as the diesel-powered Santa Cruz Crossover Truck Concept. It was then greenlit in 2016 to arrive in 2018 as 2019 model, but that didn’t happen. It now seems production at Hyundai’s Montgomery, Alabama, facility will start sometime in 2021. Pricing could start around $25,000.
Hyundai, recognizing the need to increase its presence in the truck and SUV market, hopes the compact unibody pickup will do the trick. Is it even a truck? To the disappointment of diehard body-on-frame truck enthusiasts, the 2022 Santa Cruz is going to be a unibody, crossover-type truck reportedly built on the compact SUV Hyundai Tucson’s platform. It’ll most resemble the Honda Ridgeline, but smaller, perhaps making it better suited for city duty. Its traditional pickup-truck competition—if you could even manage to put the Santa Cruz in the smallest of current truck categories, the midsize—would be the Toyota Tacoma, Ford Ranger, GMC Canyon, Chevy Colorado, Nissan Frontier, Jeep Gladiator, and aforementioned Ridgeline. A more direct competitor is on the way in the form of Ford’s Maverick, and Ram plans to enter one of the two segments with its reborn Dakota.
However, the Hyundai Santa Cruz is not targeting truck people. It’s hoping to appeal to the young, active lifestyle crowd and urban adventurers who need a vehicle with a bed to haul gear and stuff that’s too dirty, stinky, and/or big for inside the cab. These buyers won’t need or want the expense, capability, max towing, payload, ground clearance, physical presence, and truck-like ride quality of a regular pickup. In that sense, it will be a relatively economical, compact runabout that combines the utility of a small bed with carlike ride quality.
And unlike a traditional truck, it’ll be front-wheel drive, with all-wheel-drive probably optional. It would be cool to see a diesel option, but more likely power will come from some sort of turbocharged four-cylinder gas powerplant.
The clandestine four-door Hyundai Santa Cruz that we spotted seems spot-on with the naked body revealed in a leaked image a few months ago. Although much of the body was clad so that the body lines couldn’t be seen, all of the glass was exposed—and the shape of the side-window glass and trim all line up with the leaked image. The windshield has an aggressive carlike rake, creating a sleeker, narrower, more rectangular cab in line with those of today’s pickup trucks as opposed to the more upright windshield and squarer, taller cabs of yesterday’s trucks. Although we can’t tell much because of all the coverings, the silhouette of the front end seemingly reveals an SUV-like front end with a flat hood. The hood looks to have a small cant at the front that leads to a blunt fascia; it presumably can’t be more polarizing than the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, however.
Instead of having more traditional, clearly delineated “cab” and “bed” sections (think new Honda Ridgeline), the Santa Cruz has an angled, chunky C-pillar with paneling that connects the roof to the bed, more resembling an SUV with the back part of the roof removed (think of the first-generation Ridgeline). The camo completely concealed the bed and tailgate area, keeping us from really examining the one area—the bed—that gives the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz any excuse to remotely be considered a truck. We don’t yet know for sure if the short bed will be equipped with a standard or optional extender, although such an accessory, as well as items like tonneau covers, will surely be available to allow lifestyle types to customize the small pickup.
At one time, word was Hyundai planned to sell 50,000 to 70,000 Santa Cruzes a year. It remains to be seen if those targets hold, or if they’re even attainable, but with a reasonable price point, potentially attractive fuel economy, modern convenience and safety tech, a good warranty, and truckish utility in a car-based package, it just may have a shot. As for now, we wait for the Santa Cruz to shed the camouflage and show us what it’s made of.

Looking For A Good Inexpensive Car? The 2020 Hyundai Venue Subcompact SUV Is The Answer
The Hyundai Venue may be the simplest-to-describe new car of 2020. It is a two-row SUV with impeccable fit and finishes, an engine and acceleration that help you avoid traffic tickets, virtually all the driver assists you to want, and a price that lets you buy new rather than used. There are not many cars available fat its price with an 8-inch color LCD standard and Android Auto / Apple CarPlay built-in.
Hyundai describes the buyer as a young “urban adventurer.” You don’t pay extra for roof rails or for the two-tone paint on the Denim edition.
On the road, the Hyundai Venue felt fine cruising. The length, three inches less than a Honda Fit, made it effortless to navigate the crowded capital city, the noise insulation made the ride pleasant on highways, and the air conditioning made it bearable for visiting Northerners admiring the humidity outside — at least until we opened the doors to admire, but not sample, a microbrewery and distillery. The interior is nicely done for the money. Still, window sill armrests are hard plastic with no padding, and there’s one seatback pocket.
Enough Engine to Move You Down the Road
The engine is okay for everything other than passing on two-lane country roads; 0-60 times are around 10 seconds. The engine delivers 121 hp through the continuously variable transmission available on all three trim lines; there’s a six-speed manual on the entry SE line and 15-inch steel wheels.
The rear suspension is a torsion beam, which is simple, elegant, workable, and takes up less space than a multi-link independent rear suspension. A console dial lets you adjust throttle response via Normal, Eco and Snow settings; the Snow position keeps one wheel on ice from spinning and taking traction away from the wheel on snow or dryish pavement. The modes have no effect on steering effort.
Hyundai is proud of the wide ratio of its CVT (IVT, or “intelligent variable transmission”), about 7:1, and notes it’s less complex than Toyota’s CVT that uses a mechanical first gear before handing off to the CVT. Hyundai says it has a metal chain not a metal belt in the CVT and believes it has resolved any rubber-banding issue. It also helps that a 121-hp engine doesn’t make heavy demands on the transmission. It’s rated at 30 mpg city, 34 mpg highway, 32 mpg combined (27/35/30 for the manual).
Hyundai Venue Models
You could think of the Venue as a Hyundai Kona Lite since both are subcompact SUV/crossover vehicles. It’s a little more complicated: They’re built on different platforms. The Venue is more a replacement of sorts for the Hyundai Accent hatchback that went away in 2018 when the Gen 5 Accent arrived. The Kona is a premium-feel low-cost SUV and the entry model goes for more than the base Venue SE.
The Venue does give every buyer a very good standard safety package built around a forward-facing camera:
Forward collision-avoidance assist (FCA-Ped) with Pedestrian Detection – warning of cars ahead, pedestrians, and braking to avoid collisions or at least reduce the severity
Lane keep assist (LKA) – incorporating departure warning, also tugs at the wheel to pull the car back from lane edge
Driver attention warning (DAW) – drowsy driver warning
Should You Buy?
Hyundai is on a roll: The Sonata sedan is the ExtremeTech Car of the Year. The Sonata and Palisade SUV were finalists for the North American Car and Truck of the Year (NACTOY) Award. Hyundai hasn’t brought out a bad car in years.
If you want a sub-compact SUV that is affordable, and if you want new, the 2020 Hyundai Venue is your best choice.
The Venue and Kona are within a half-inch on most interior dimensions. The Venue’s rear-seat legroom of 87cm is reasonable for such a small car. Total interior volume is pretty good, really good for something just over under 4m long.
We’d recommend the Venue SEL with at least the Convenience package to get blind-spot detection.
Hyundais have a 5-year/60,000 mile warranty (10/100 on the powertrain) so it still has more warranty left than most 3/36 new cars.
Our bottom line on the 2020 Hyundai Venue: This is the best car at Group 1 Hyundai if you want an urban-small, SUV with reasonable space inside (great space for just under 4m in length), excellent core safety features, and a large standard center stack LCD that connects to Apple or Android phones. If you believe you need all-wheel-drive, you’ll probably do just as well with winter tires and wheels. If you need adaptive cruise control, you want the Kona. Nonetheless, Hyundai did an amazing job putting that much tech into an affordable car.

New Year Brings An Exciting New Range Of Cars On The Market
Now we are full steam ahead into 2020, the motoring world is all revved up for the latest cars available to buy at showrooms across the UK. So, which are the hottest new vehicles coming out the New Year? What make or model is going to make you fork over your hard-earned cash in the next 12 months?
Tumblr media
For starters, with the release of the new James Bond film, why don’t you pick yourself up a new Aston Martin? But this summer, with the release of the DBX, the car giant is entering new territory. The upcoming Aston Martin DBX marks a turning point, being the company’s inaugural sport utility vehicle or SUV. Boasting a 542bhp twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
The beginning of the year sees a revamp of the Jaguar F-Type, which first appeared in 2012. The popular sports car has been given an eye-catching new outer design, with exceptional interior tech and trim. The R model will also come complete with a 5-litre, 567bhp supercharged V8 engine.
2020 also sees the return of the popular Land Rover Defender, but in a brand-new form. The car firm maintains their new model, taking the place of the classic 4×4, is a durable terrain crosser. The Defender will be equipped with spanking new features, such as parking cameras, 14-speaker premium sound system and touchscreen infotainment set up, amongst other additions.
Audi is bringing out new cars in 2020, with their pure electric sports car coupe, the Audi e-tron GT, garnering a lot of attention, due for release at the end of the year.
The end of 2020 also sees another SUV coming out, the Ford Mustang Mach-E. A pure electric vehicle derived from the world-famous muscle car. This economical, ecological vehicle can reportedly travel up to 370 miles without needing to be charged.
As well as SUVs, the new year also sees the arrival of zero-emission superminis like the Honda e, an urban commuter car with a torquey electric motor. The vehicle can also allow you over a hundred miles with half an hour battery charge.
By the look of these exhilarating new cars coming out, 2020 is gearing up to be a year to remember. If you are planning on buying a brand-new car, the next 12 months could be a boom time for the automotive industry. So, don’t miss out.

Best cars of the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show
Joe Holding 2017-10-27 12:45 Lots of new cars and concepts have been on display at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. Our experts reveal the best The 2017 Tokyo Motor Show has been a frantic operation, with several new cars and concepts being revealed at the Tokyo ‘Big Sight’ International Exhibition Centre. Our team has been working tirelessly across the stands, and now that things have settled down, they’ve had time to pick out the best cars of the show. There has been plenty to choose from, with many cars vying for attention in Tokyo. Honda has pulled off the same trick it managed with the Urban EV Concept at the Frankfurt Motor Show, by revealing the similarly-styled Sports EV concept. • Tokyo Motor Show: news round-up While there are no performance details available at present, Honda’s concept EVs demonstrate that electric cars don’t have to be without character; a reassuring thoughts for petrolheads. Then there’s the Mazda Vision Coupe, which has impressed at Tokyo with its sophisticated style and gorgeous detailing. Though it won’t be going into production, we will surely see something similar to the KAI concept, which previews the 2019 Mazda 3. It too subscribes to Mazda’s ‘Kodo’ design language, and points towards an elegant future for the Japanese marque. Nissan too has done its very best to grab headlines, revealing the Leaf Nismo Concept in Tokyo. The manufacturer says it would produce Ford Focus RS levels of performance and complete 0-62mph in under six seconds. It may seem odd that Nissan would offer a hot version of what is supposed to be an economical car, but given that it has committed to boosting sales by 15,000 units globally using the Nismo brand, there could well be an appetite for it. Those are just a handful of highlights from the show, but what did our team of experts think? Scroll down to find out… Mazda Vision Coupe concept By James Batchelor, editor-at-large Image 2 of 5 Image 2 of 5 Anyone who knows anything about cars knows that Mazda creates some of the prettiest designs around. Mazda designers seem to have a different attitude to car styling than their European rivals – it’s more about beauty of form rather than sharp creases and ugly surfaces. Mazda’s current line-up conforms to the firm’s ‘Kodo’ design language – a style that was created in 2010. But that was seven years ago and it’s time for Kodo 2.0. The new Kodo is more about elegance this time around and while it’s a shame the Vision Coupe won’t go into production as a high-end four-door coupe to rival the Audi A7, it’s a tantalising snapshot of how Mazda’s more humdrum models will look like over the next few years. It was easily the star of the show. Mitsubishi e-Evolution concept By John McIlroy, deputy editor Image 3 of 5 Image 3 of 5 Mitsubishi’s e-Evolution concept is my Tokyo hit - not because I think the world needs yet another SUV (and a coupe-esque one at that) but because of what it represents. Three years ago this brand was pretty much on its knees. Now it’s part of the world’s largest car manufacturing group, along with Renault and Nissan, and under the guidance of canny Brit Trevor Mann, it has announced bold plans to invest heavily in new products, with more than 10 due before 2020. There’s renewed optimism, then - and if cues from the ultra-angular e-Evolution end up on some of those new products (with Renault-Nissan oily bits underneath), this could be the show and the concept that mark a real awakening for the brand. Honda Sports EV concept By Jonathan Burn, news editor Image 4 of 5 Image 4 of 5 Honda once again hogged the Motor Show limelight this time with its Sports EV Concept. Bosses haven’t decided if they will build it but if feedback is positive it could be enough to persuade them to give it the go ahead for production. The Sports EV is exactly the sort of car Honda needs in its product range in order to give its European presence a much needed boost. And the brave new design direction the concept features appears to have unanimous approval - it looks fantastic. Nissan Leaf Nismo concept By Lawrence Allen, senior staff writer Image 5 of 5 Image 5 of 5 It might just be a concept – and it may not even come to the UK – but the very fact Nissan is showing a Leaf Nismo at the Tokyo Motor Show is a promising sign for car enthusiasts. The idea that the Leaf, which is known primarily for its environmental credentials, could realistically be offered with a hot variant, is a strong sign that the electric revolution can still serve those after a practical, good value performance car. The idea of a hot hatch EV greatly appeals, too – instant torque mixed with an uprated chassis could make a seriously entertaining Golf GTI rival. What was your best car of the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show?
