Ford Mustang Bullitt production extended to 2020 Ford has extended the production of its special edition Mustang Bullitt into 2020, after the initial run of cars sold out almost as soon as they were made available. Prices now start from £48,210 for the limited-run muscle car, which makes the Bullit just under £6000 more expensive than the regular 5.0-litre Mustang GT on which it is based. It gains additional equipment including Recaro seats, upholstery finished with green stitching, an 8-ball gearknob and the Bullitt Electronics Package, which adds sat-nav, a premium sound system, blind spot monitor and cross-traffic alert, as well as driver memory seats and mirrors. Each car will have a unique chassis number plaque on the interior.  The Bullitt is marked out by Dark Highland Green paint (black is also available), with gunmetal finished 19in torque thrust aluminium wheels, red painted brake calipers and a black front grille. At the rear, the Bullitt false petrol cap shows the car’s significance. The Bullitt also gets a series of mechanical modifications to cement its status as the most special non-Shelby Mustang in the range. Ford Mustang GT Performance Kit Delivers Bullitt Muscle for Much Less Money

Shortly after introducing a power kit for the EcoBoost Ranger pickup, Ford Performance is back with a similarly enticing performance package for the V-8–powered Ford Mustang GT. The kit kicks up the stock Mustang GT‘s 5.0-liter engine from 460 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque with an additional 19 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 18 lb-ft at 4,500 rpm. At 2,000 rpm, the torque bump is a whopping 42 lb-ft! Along with kit’s extra power, Ford is promising sharper throttle response.

To take advantage of the upgrade, you’ll first need a 2018–2020 Mustang GT, with either the manual or automatic transmission. Then, you must purchase the $1,275 Ford Performance kit, which includes a cold-air intake and the 87-mm throttle body lifted from the Mustang Bullitt. It also has an adapter for the throttle body and a new software calibration. Considering the upgrades bring the Mustang GT’s power up to Bullitt levels, the kit seems like a steal. While the Mustang Bullitt starts at $48,900, you can get your hands on a new Mustang GT for as little as $36,825. Add in the cost of the kit, and you’re staring down a $38,100 Bullitt-adjacent ‘Stang.

Worried about sullying your brand-new Mustang with warranty-eating performance parts? Don’t be. The Ford Performance kit comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile warranty when installed by a Ford dealer or ASE/Red Seal certified technician. The calibrations are for U.S. and Canadian vehicles only, and Ford says premium fuel is required once the calibrations are installed.

We enjoy the smooth power delivery and visceral roar of the Ford pony car’s V-8 engine, which only gets better in the burlier Bullitt. We’re less impressed with the Mustang’s ride and handling, however, so if power and affordability aren’t your only concerns, we recommend looking at the Bullitt, the Shelby GT350 (while it lasts), or the 700-hp-plus Shelby GT500.

Mustang fans must feel like they have been kept in limbo having been promised back in 2017 a supercharger kit for the 2018 Ford Mustang GT and recently the news of the 2020 GT500 with rumors of it having more than 700 HP when released. Now, the supercharger kit has been released and promises 700HP with 610 pound-feet of torque, available for both 2018 and 2019 Mustang GTs.

The supercharger kit developed with Roush Racing, comprises of a 2.65-liter TVS positive displacement supercharger with 12psi, fuel rails and injectors, air-to-water intercooler and larger throttle body. The other great news is that its legal in all 50 states. The kits will fit GT models, but that excludes the Mustang Bullitt edition.

The price of the kit is $7,699 with an optional 3 year/36,000-mile warranty available, but only if the kit is installed by a ASE-certified technician or Ford dealer.

This is clearly going to be a tasty proposition for Mustang GT owners. Not only to get your ride past the 700HP+ mark to keep up with the Jones’s in the muscle car world, but it’s also value for money. Considering you can buy a 2018/19 Mustang GT and the supercharger kit and still have change from $50k.

There are clearly other supercharger kits on the market, so why go for the Ford option? As a comparison, you can check out the video below showing you the fitting and stripped down of a Procharger P1SC and VMP Gen2R and a VMP Gen 3 blower. The Ford kit also gives the benefit of the warranty option and a full Ford workflow, making resale values possibly better.
