Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Trim Levels Roar The Year 2020!
The 2020 Chrysler Pacifica continues the journey it started a few years ago. Flexible and energy-efficient, it offers a large cabin for a growing family. Drivers love the car feel, and parents like lots of extras.
There are many ways to get to Pacifica. Pacifica comes with Touring, Touring L, and Limited editions of gasoline or hybrid engines. Each level brings more luxury, and special packages add color and style.
Let's See What More These Hybrid Trim Levels Have To Offer
2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Touring:
The V6 engine controls the Pacifica. It produces 287 hp, which is enough for this vehicle. The nine-speed automatic transmission helps you manage torque from 262 pound-feet.
With seven seating, the passenger volume is 165 cubic feet. Second-row teenagers don't complain about 39-inch legroom and 40-inch headroom space. The second-row has retractable sunroof to keep the kids calm, and the third row also has 36.5-inch legroom.
The 7-inch touch screen includes Bluetooth phone and voice text response. Expanding on what the system can do, Chrysler offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity. The driver will meet many requirements in this edition. Heated side mirrors improve visibility, and the blind-spot monitor takes care of the sides. Simultaneously, the Rear Cross-Traffic Alert is a good companion for rearview cameras, especially with the ParkSense automatic braking system.
2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Touring L:
Along with the V6 engine, the Touring L is also introduced in the electric hybrid. It uses an innovative dual-motor eFlite transmission. The Pentastar V-6 gas engine ensures that the owner always has the necessary power, even when the charge is exhausted. The one-way clutch sends torque to the wheels.
The driver's 8-way electric passenger seat is standard. The Touring L version includes memory features and a full-length console. Second-row Stow 'N Go bucket seats are standard. It also provides in-floor bins for storage when the seats are in use. The third row is Stow 'N Go bench.
Touring L will add retractable shades to the third row. It has an audio control on a leather-wrapped steering wheel. Driver seat memory allows drivers to move seats where needed. Premium fabric seats are available for McKinley perforated Leather Trim.
Select Advanced SafetyTech Group for a long list of driving assistance features. These include rain-sensitive wipers, Park Sense, Park Assistance, 360-degree camera system, and adaptive cruise control. Chrysler consists of a forward collision warning plus and a lane departure warning to prevent damage to the van.
2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Limited:
The Limited comes with advanced gasoline engines or hybrid engines. This adds the ability to stop and start. Pacifica Limited can save fuel at the red light by turning off the main engine and relying on an auxiliary battery. This increases the city fuel economy to 19 miles per gallon. The model can go straight up to 32 miles with a single charge. Even if you don't want to tow, the 2020 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid towing capacity is up to 3,600 pounds.
It includes warm and ventilated front seats. It has a dual-zone HVAC voice activator, and the memory settings place the driver's seat exactly where it is needed. Warm seats from the second row are also on the board. An integrated navigation system helps you find the best way. Power slide doors add a hands-free advantage. The Limited also has a power-folding rear seat. This Stow ‘N Go is easy to use. Parents will prefer common space to keep things clean.
This model has additional lighting with puddle lamps to help you see the road. Front door indicator lights are located to the right and left for added visibility. Electrically heated side mirrors are auto-dimming and power-folding. They have courtesy lights to help you when you get to your car. They also adjust automatically when reversing.

The Ultimate Dodge SuperBee

The Ultimate Dodge SuperBee
By Mark Weisseg
Let’ s come back ourselves back to 1968 again. The particular Dodge SuperBee was in production through 1968 to 1971 in the United States. For a few odd reason however you could get the Bee in Mexico from 1970 to 1980 as a bit distinctive from the US models. Then in regular Chrysler fashion again in 3 years ago to 2009 and then for the this year -2013 line up. Confused? Me as well. It’ s Chrysler mandate to bring back old names that were the as soon as popular. Rarely does it work in the sense which you feel you are really driving the Bee in 2013 that was such as the 1968 Model.
Avoid pulled this stunt back in ’ 68 to compete against the Plymouth Road Runner. Sales were therefore , so but the car really was great. Some people hated the front grill yet loved the taillight set up. Obviously the engines under the hood had been really the standard Chrysler engines. It had been a B body car using the 383, 426, and the 440.
Four speed manual or perhaps a three speed automatic. Does this particular all sound familiar? It does and other than the usual really big stripe at the trunk area not much was different. Continuing to move forward into the current life of the 2007-2009 and the 2012-13 models the car had been ho hum. Chrysler or Fiat or who ever owned all of them that week tried very hard to restore some car sales. How? Place the stripe on the trunk area of the 4 door Charger, paint it yellow-colored, and call it a Super Bee. Do you hear the thud? In general 1 cannot go home again after many years. The chrysler has still not learned that yet today they have nothing except the Chrysler 300, a mini vehicle named Pacifica ( which was utilized previously too) and of course the Ram memory line up. But let’ s return to business here.
The particular Super Bee was a cool vehicle. Many buyers liked the front billet grille and the big stripe. They understood the power plant under the hood would definitely deliver and overall knew the actual were getting. The recent SuperBee cars are awful and ideally they never see the sun once again.
The problem with the outdated or original Super Bee vehicles is they never caught upon with collectors. Road Runners possess, Chargers, Super Birds, and so on yet Super Bee cars just get handed down over. Is it because everyone knows it truly is no different than any other B entire body? Is it that many just are not about?
Well, if you want to differ than the status quo then find an Extremely Bee and restore it. Couple of ever show up at shows I actually attend. And when they do most people display no love to them. That is a pity because a B body car continues to be a B body car. The particular B body cars are poor ass.
I very own one and I know from encounter. Certainly I would love to see really these out and about. Especially at most associated with today’ s car shows plus cruises. They are all packed with the requirements. Corvette, Camaro, Mustang, Charger, Street Runner, Chevelle’ s and a scattering of Nova’ s. Certainly components would be available if you found the Bee and with some salesmanship you could be the only one at a car cruise along with one. So , is it worth the problem??? Yes said the wise aged owl.
The Mopar cars of yesteryear were poor ass cars with a mean position. They were loud, fast, and adored. So , the Super Bee has a place in today’ s vehicle world. We all need to pray towards the hot rod Gods that Fiat does not bring back the name again on the four door family car hoping that the name will draw once again. Please.

Future Trucks and Minivans: Coming Soon
Pickup trucks are still the best-selling vehicles in America. Millions and millions sell every year, for moving furniture, hauling construction gear, or towing your boat to the river. Throw in higher profit margins than SUVs or cars, and you have a vehicle segment the automakers will always covet and want to expand. A ton (or half-ton) of redesigned trucks have hit the market in the past few years, but there are still more to come in this highly competitive segment.
Meanwhile, minivans may still be fighting to shed their image of parental capitulation, but it’s a fiercely fought segment all the same. We may not be buying as many crumb cruncher carriers as we used to, but when we do, we want them to be the absolute pinnacle of family transportation. So work continues to make them more comfortable, more functional, and more kid-friendly than ever.
Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon
What’s New: Updated exterior designs are in store for the refreshed trucks. The Colorado’s previous base trim has been discontinued, making the Work Truck the new entry model and raising the truck’s starting price. On the Canyon, the AT4 trim replaces the All Terrain, and the Denali receives minor updates, including a new grille design and interior color theme.
What’s Not: Mechanical bits stay the same. Engine options will continue to include a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, a 3.6-liter V-6, and a 2.8-liter turbodiesel.
When: Late Spring 2020
How Much: $26,395
Toyota Sienna
What’s New: The 2021 Toyota Sienna marks the model’s first redesign in a decade. Resting on a variant of the Toyota New Global Architecture TNGA-K platform that also underpins the likes of the Toyota Camry sedan and Highlander crossover SUV, the fourth-generation Sienna trades its predecessor’s upright styling and 296-horsepower V-6 engine for lower-slung looks and a standard hybrid powertrain that relies on a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors to produce 243 hp. A third motor mounts to the rear axle on all-wheel-drive models. Yep, it’s hybrid only, which will mean 33 mpg fuel economy in the combined cycle, better than the Chrysler Pacifica minivan, and far better than the gas-only minivan pack. Standard safety and convenience items include automatic front braking with pedestrian protection, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and lane centering. Along with its polarizingly muscular styling, the latest Sienna welcomes available niceties like a vacuum cleaner, a refrigerator, kick-activated sliding doors, and second-row “Super Long Slide” bucket seats with 25 inches of fore-and-aft travel.
What’s Not: Save for its name and minivan body style, the 2021 Sienna shares little else with its forebear.
When: Late 2020
How Much: $35,000 (est.)
Chrysler Pacifica
What’s New: A new all-wheel-drive option, Pinnacle trim level, front and rear styling revisions, and a major upgrade to the speed and capability of the Uconnect system highlight this midcycle refresh. Available only on gas models, the AWD system preserves Stow ’N Go seating and can idle the driveshaft to save fuel. Pinnacle models get opulent quilted leather seats and pillows, a suede headliner, and platinum chrome exterior trim. Uconnect 5.0 is five times faster and features Alexa integration plus a higher-resolution 10.1-inch screen that can mirror two Android or Apple phones.
What’s Not: The powertrains remain the same, as does styling on lower-spec Voyager models, which replace the Dodge Grand Caravan.
When: Fall 2020
How Much: $35,500–$52,000 (est)
Honda Odyssey
What’s New: You’ll see numerous safety, technology, and design upgrades. With a redesigned front fascia, grille, and new housings for the foglights, the Odyssey is receiving a pretty extensive midcycle upgrade. The second-row seats can now fold flat (a packaging boo-boo now fixed), allowing more room for larger objects. The Odyssey is also getting a new rear-seat reminder that works with the CabinWatch camera to alert drivers what still resides behind them when they turn off the engine. As with all recently updated Hondas, Honda Sensing is standard on all 2021 Odysseys.
What’s Not: The engine, platform, and infotainment system are the same. All Odysseys will continue to be powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 with 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed automatic will continue to sFuture Trucks and Minivans coming soon concept carsend power to the front wheels.

2021 Toyota Sienna minivan goes hybrid-only with a radical new design
Toyota’s Sienna minivan has been given a radical, bullet-train-inspired makeover.
Toyota
It’s been over a decade since the current, third-generation Toyota Sienna minivan debuted, and in recent years, it’s grown a bit stale, overtaken by newer rivals like the Chrysler Pacifica and Honda Odyssey. But Toyota on Monday officially unveiled the new 2021 Sienna, which has been redesigned from the ground up and is gunning for the minivan segment crown. (See how the 2021 Sienna compares with its rivals in our Sienna, Odyssey and Pacifica spec comparison.)
This fourth-generation Sienna was designed by CALTY’s Newport Beach, California, and Ann Arbor, Michigan, design teams, but it looks wholly Japanese. Toyota describes the new Sienna as “bold, sexy and provocative,” and says the front end’s massive grille was inspired by the Japanese Shinkansen bullet train. More than anything, it reminds me of the awesome, boxy, overstyled JDM minivans that we don’t get in the US.
I don’t think the Sienna looks as outright aggressive as other recent Toyota models, and that’s a good thing. The bulging rear fender is lifted from the Highlander but looks more natural and soft here, and there are a number of nice, subtle surfacing changes like the lines coming off the LED headlights. The rear is a bit more angular, with slim LED taillights and a lot of creases, and the tailgate has a slight whiff of a ducktail spoiler. An XSE model (the one shown in red) gets a sportier body kit, dark 20-inch wheels and different interior trimmings.
2020 Toyota Sienna vs. 2021 Toyota Sienna
2020 Toyota Sienna 2021 Toyota Sienna Engine 3.5-liter V6 2.5-liter I4 hybrid Power 296 hp 243 hp (net) Torque 263 lb-ft N/A Transmission 8-speed auto CVT Fuel economy 21 mpg combined 33 mpg combined (est.) Length 200.6 in 203.7 in Width 78.1 in 78.5 in Height 68.9 in 68.5 in
Toyota gave the interior a radical overhaul, too. The automaker says minivan owners don’t want to feel like they’re driving a bus, so the wide dashboard is more similar in design to the brand’s SUVs. It’s got a high-mounted infotainment display and a nice mix of colors and materials, and it looks more upscale overall. The biggest change is a huge “bridge console” between the front seats that’s connected to the dash, which Toyota says is positioned for better ergonomics and comfort. That console offers cup holders, a wireless phone charger and some additional storage compartments, while the open area underneath is large enough to fit a purse or a backpack.
But I’m most interested in the second row of seats. The new Sienna has available as an option Super Long Slide captain’s chairs, which can slide up to 25 inches fore and aft. These reclining seats can be equipped with built-in ottomans, too. Lower trims get three-across seats in the second row with a stowable middle seat. On the top trims the seats are covered in leather with both heating and ventilation for the front two occupants, while the second row can be heated. (The second-row seats aren’t removable and can’t fold, though, due to integrated side airbags.)
Now playing: Watch this: 2021 Toyota Sienna comes standard with outrageous looks,…
3: 04
New platform, new powertrain
The new Sienna rides on Toyota’s modular TNGA-K platform, the same one underpinning cars like the Camry, Avalon and Highlander. Compared with the 2020 model, the new generation is 3.1 inches longer overall and rides on a 1.2-inch-longer wheelbase, and it’s slightly wider and a little lower in height. Toyota worked to make the new Sienna quieter and less affected by external vibrations, as well.
For the first time, the Sienna is available as a hybrid — and only as a hybrid. The sole powertrain is the same basic setup found in other Toyota hybrid models like the RAV4, using a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with two electric motors and a battery pack mounted under the front seats. The Sienna’s hybrid system puts out 243 total horsepower, 53 hp less than the current model’s V6 engine. But power isn’t the point: Toyota says it estimates the 2021 Sienna will get 33 miles per gallon combined, way better than the 21 mpg that the 2020 Sienna gets. It also bests the Odyssey and Pacifica, both of which use V6 engines and get 22 mpg combined.
Toyota wanted the Sienna’s interior to feel less like that of a bus.
Toyota
Not giving the Sienna a plug is intentional, Toyota says, and there are no plans for a PHEV version. A lot of Sienna owners are repeat customers, so the new one needed to feel familiar, with no need to plug it in to achieve maximum efficiency. In addition to the standard three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty, the 2021 Sienna has a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty and an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty for all hybrid components including the battery.
All-wheel drive is an option on all trim levels, with the system using a separate electric motor for the rear wheels instead of a traditional transfer case and driveshaft (no word on if it adds any extra horsepower). It’s able to send up to 80% of torque to the rear wheels, and Toyota says the all-wheel-drive model is more agile in the corners. I expect the AWD Sienna to get slightly worse fuel economy than the FWD model, though Toyota hasn’t released official numbers.
2021 Toyota Sienna design was inspired by Japanese bullet trains
See all photos
The 2021 Sienna has multiple driving modes including one for EV-only operation (for very short distances at low speeds), and there’s an adjustable regenerative braking feature that mimics the act of downshifting, ideal for hilly terrain. A new Predictive Efficient Drive feature remembers driving habits, road conditions and repeated routes to optimize when the battery is charged by the hybrid system. This feature is also found in the new 2021 Venza hybrid.
Like the current Sienna, the new one is able to tow up to 3,500 pounds, and it has an available 120-volt AC outlet and 1,500-watt inverter to power gear and accessories. Toyota will offer accessories from Yakima that have been designed for the Sienna including a bike rack, cross bars and a rooftop carrier. Who needs an SUV when you have a minivan?
I don’t think it’s a stretch to call this the best-looking Sienna ever.
Toyota
Segment-first tech and features
More than anything, minivans are all about interior functionality, and the 2021 Sienna has it in spades. There are as many as 18 cup holders, six more than the maximum offered by the 2020 model. Standard equipment for every Sienna includes power sliding doors, auto up/down windows, three-zone automatic climate control and second-row sunshades. Climbing the trim level ladder — LE, Limited, XSE and Platinum — adds features like kick-activated sliding doors and power tailgate, four-zone auto climate control, a sunroof, sunshades for the third row and a power tilt and telescoping steering wheel that’s also heated. The Limited trim gets a built-in vacuum and storage box, while the Platinum replaces the box with a refrigerator.
The “base” infotainment setup is a 9-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa and SiriusXM capability, six speakers and seven USB ports. Moving up in the trim levels adds HD Radio, onboard Wi-Fi, navigation and a 1,200-watt JBL audio system with 12 speakers and a subwoofer. There’s an available 11.6-inch rear entertainment system with 1080p resolution and an HDMI input, a remote controller and a pair of wireless headphones. A 7-inch screen in the gauge cluster can show hybrid system info, while an optional 10-inch head-up display can project navigation info, as well.
The new Sienna is longer, lower and wider than before.
Toyota
Toyota’s Safety Sense 2.0 suite of driver assist features is standard across the board, including automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning with steering assist, road sign assist and automatic high beams. Every 2021 Sienna has 10 airbags, including curtain airbags for all three rows and the aforementioned side airbags built into the first and second-row seats. A digital rearview mirror and a 360-degree camera with a curb view are new options, and there’s also a rear-seat occupant reminder system.
Toyota hasn’t released any pricing yet, but the Sienna will go on sale toward the end of the year and will continue to be built at Toyota’s plant in Indiana. It will have to face still-tough competition in the form of the face-lifted Chrysler Pacifica and Honda Odyssey and an upcoming next-gen Kia Sedona. (See how it stacks up against those competitors in our spec comparison story.) But, at least for now, the 2021 Sienna seems poised to be a major contender.

2019 Chicago Auto Show: Hits, Misses, and Revelations
The 2019 Chicago Auto Show was one big anniversary celebration. Mazda staged a white NA, a blue NB, and a red NC MX-5 Miata just offstage from the Racing Orange ND convertible and RF coupe 30th Anniversary editions of the sports car. NA design chief Tom Matano and “Father of the Miata” Bob Hall were on hand for the unveiling, and a couple of hours later, the U.S. allotment of 500 Anniversary models were sold out.
Acura’s stand had an original ’90 NSX and a new one, both in red, as John Ikeda, who was Honda R&D of America chief in the late ’80s, waxed nostalgic about the first Japanese supercar’s development and introduction, with spokesman Sage Marie and former Car and Driver editor-in-chief Csaba Csere. There was a big crowd and Acura ran out of bubbly for the champagne toast.
Both the Miata and NSX, as the NS-X concept, made their global premieres at this show in 1989. Elsewhere this year at McCormick Place, Fiat Chrysler celebrated 35 years of the minivan, with a special-edition Chrysler Pacifica and Dodge Grand Caravan, and a 1984 Plymouth Voyager on display. Volkswagen unveiled its new Jetta GLI with a 35th anniversary edition of that model.
But it’s the 30th anniversary of the Miata and NSX that got us to wondering whether the 2020 Chicago Auto Show might finally once again have a number of big introductions and grab some important premieres when Detroit moves next year from January to June. Or will those introductions go to Los Angeles in November and CES in January instead? For now, here are the cars and trucks you need to see at the 2019 Chicago show:
HIT: 2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Sometimes it’s best to do what’s expected. We figured the all-new Jetta GLI would return to being a GTI with a trunk, as it was known for a long time, and that’s exactly how the product manager described it to us. Having started my family at a young age, I’ve always preferred the GLI to the GTI, and this one delivers what I want: subtle sportiness that speaks of security rather than a need to show off. Past GLIs have generally been a bit softer than GTIs, but VW says this won’t be the case for the new car; it has used the GTI’s handling as the benchmark, and given the minor weight differences between the Golf and the GTI, that’s doable. The new Jetta GLI fills me with hope, and there’s little chance it will disappoint.—Aaron Gold
While I find the base Jetta to be uninspired, and figure it’s going to age rather quickly, I’m impressed by the latest GLI. It ditches the regular Jetta’s torsion-beam rear end for a multilink suspension, and 228 horsepower with 258 lb-ft of torque are numbers many other sport-trim FWD compact sedans would love to have. I’m taken with the ghost gray model on display on the show floor, with its six-speed manual gearbox. I put the over-under on this car at $35,000 (it was $30,000 not long ago). Load up too many options and there are other, more interesting competitors in the $35,000-to-$40,000 range.—Todd Lassa
MISS: 2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI Okay, so, what’s with making the DCC adaptive-damper system exclusive to the limited-run 35th Anniversary Edition? Why does Volkswagen always seem to hobble their performance cars a little bit? Back when the current-gen GTI came out, it charged extra for the most powerful engine tune and a limited-slip diff. It has cut that crap, but now it’s narrowing availability of DCC to a limited-run model which will no doubt demand a price premium. I wouldn’t object to making DCC an optional extra, although if VW really cared about making the right impression, it would fit it as standard to the Jetta GLI. DCC really hones the GTI and Golf R’s edge, letting the driver choose between super-sharp handling and a more comfortable commute. But not even offering it as an option means that buyers who want a GLI with leather—or who don’t want to pay extra for a limited-edition car—have to do with second-rate handling. That’s just silly, and if I were a VW fan, I’d be insulted.—AG
REVELATION: The 2020 Subaru Legacy goes premium. I can’t call the new Legacy a hit. The sheetmetal is more “anodyne midsize sedan” than “interestingly awkward Subaru.” I can’t call it a miss, because it’s on Subaru’s impressive new global platform, so it’s likely to ride and handle better than it looks. With this new midsize model, Subaru is on board with most of its Japanese brethren and Volkswagen in figuring the midsize sedan segment isn’t going to shrink much more, and so it can pick up market share from the larger players discontinuing their car lines. With its new top trim level, the turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four-powered Touring XT, Subaru has the opportunity to rake in SUV-sized profit margins with the new Legacy.—TL
REVELATION: 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata 30th Anniversary Edition paint. I thought the Miata would look good in any color. I was wrong. Maybe it was the harsh show lights, but to me, the Miata in “Racing Orange” looks like a molded-in-color plastic model.—AG
