Acting and Characters: What a immense, high powered, and astounding acting Kriti Sanon has done in the role of Mimi; this role is the most challenging and well built of her film career so far; it is unbelievable that this is Kriti Sanon, who is completely lost in her role and has put her whole heart into it, whether it is her humor, facial expressions, dialogue delivery, and Rajasthani language accent, Rajasthani dresses, emotional scenes, what an acting she has done with such a Pankaj Tripathi's acting in the character of Pandey is also great; he is a specialist in playing comedic roles.His acting is also excellent; there are no flaws in his performance; he has given this role his all. Sai Tamhankar's acting in the role of Shama is also very good; her and Mini's chemistry is amazing, and she left no stone unturned in whatever role she was given. Supriya Pathak, Manoj Pahwa, Evelyn Edwards, and Aidan Whytock's acting in supporting roles is also good; the acting of all of these people contributes to the story's strength. in a small Indian village, Billu (Irrfan Khan) is a struggling barber who lives a simple life with his wife Bindiya (Lara Dutta) and two children. his fortunes change when the villagers learn that a famous Bollywood superstar, Sahir Khan (Shah Rukh Khan), is coming to town for a movie shoot. Billu’s past connection with Sahir sparks curiosity, scepticism, and expectations among the villagers, leading to moments of reflection on friendship, fame, and identity.

Billu is not a typical Bollywood movie filled with glamour and larger-than-life characters. instead, it tells a simple and grounded story about a poor barber in a rural village. watching this movie, I feel connected to its theme of lost friendships and the pressures of people’s expectations. it feels closer to reality, especially compared to most Bollywood movies that focus on extravagant lifestyles. the protagonist, Billu, is an ordinary villager. his struggles and humility make him relatable. the glamour, however, comes from the supporting character, Shah Rukh Khan’s Sahir Khan, a movie superstar. this contrast between Billu’s modest life and Sahir’s stardom is one of the things I love about this movie. it feels so real, like a story you could hear in any small town. when I first watched this movie, I was at college. I didn’t know much about Irrfan Khan back then. some people might recognise him from Life of Pi or The Amazing Spider-Man, but for me, this movie introduced his brilliance. his performance left a huge impression on me, so much so that I felt he outshone even Shah Rukh Khan, who is one of the biggest names in Bollywood. Irrfan’s portrayal of Billu made me an instant fan.

every time I rewatch this movie, I end up crying. the emotions in Billu are so powerful. it’s a story of lost friendship and how society’s scepticism and expectations can weigh down an individual. the dialogues and scenes feel raw and heartfelt. I think it’s impossible to watch this movie without feeling moved by Billu’s struggles and his quiet dignity. for me, this movie is about finding value in simple life. it’s emotional without being too melodramatic. it also shows how fame can both connect and distance people. I feel frustrated by how the villagers treat and take advantage of Billu, but I also love how the movie resolves these conflicts. in the end, Billu is a beautiful story about friendship, hope, and identity. it’s one of my favourite movies, and I have watched it so many times. it’s a gem that stands out for its simplicity and emotional depth.
