This can lead to engine noise, engine smoke, warning lights/malfunction indicator illumination, an audible chime sounding, and/or, in some cases, engine overheating and possible internal mechanical engine damage, said Toyota in a statement.Affected vehicles with a coolant leak could stall while driving, which could lead to an accident if it happens without warning. Lexus ES thế hệ thứ 7 ra mắt lần đầu tiên tại Việt Nam cuối năm 2019, vừa chính thức bán ra thị trường. Thừa hưởng những tinh hoa từ "đàn anh" LS, ES được tạo hình dựa trên ngôn ngữ thiết kế kế L-Finesse từng mang lại nhiều thành công cho hãng xe sang Nhật Bản.
Phần đầu xe gây ấn tượng với lưới tản nhiệt hình con suốt cỡ lớn. Đèn chiếu sáng cụm 3 bóng LED tích hợp đèn định vị ban ngày hình chữ L cách điệu. Đèn báo rẽ LED chạy tia. Đuôi xe điệu đà hơn với hai đường xẻ lớn, ôm trọn phần ống xả phía dưới. Đèn hậu LED có thiết kế 3D tạo chiều sâu, kết nối với nhau bằng dải crôm nối liền.
ES thế hệ mới nhất sử dụng hệ khung GA-K toàn cầu của Lexus. Xe dài hơn thế hệ trước 65mm, thấp hơn 5mm và rộng hơn 45mm. Thiết kế mới mang hơi hướng lai giữa sedan và coupe thời thượng.

Nội thất ES là nơi khách hàng cảm nhận sự sang trọng đến từ Lexus. Vô-lăng ốp gỗ, trang bị chức năng sưởi tùy chọn. Ghế lái chỉnh điện 10 hướng. Cụm đồng hồ có màn hình LCD 7 inch và màn hình HUD trên kính chắn gió. Màn hình giải trí trung tâm 12,3 inch cảm ứng. Kết nối Apple CarPlay và Android Auto. Hệ thống âm thanh 10 loa cao cấp. Xe trang bị tính năng sạc không dây.
Theo Lexus, vật liệu cấu thành nội thất xe đều thuộc hàng cao cấp, từ gỗ Shimamoku sang trọng, da Semi-aniline trên ES 300h đến hợp kim trên đồng hồ analog thiết kế đơn giản, tinh tế. Dưới bàn tay của những nghệ nhân Takumi, vật liệu sử dụng ở từng vị trí đều được tính toán cầu kỳ và tỉ mỉ. Để được gọi là nghệ nhân ở Lexus, họ đều phải trải qua quá trình rèn giũa và hoàn thiện kỹ năng trong 60.000 giờ.

"Rõ ràng và sâu sắc là triết lý tạo lên ghế ngồi của Lexus ES. Khi ngồi lên, bạn sẽ không phải điều chỉnh nhiều để tìm đúng tư thế ngồi", ông Shin Maezawa, Trưởng dự án phát triển ghế ngồi Lexus nói. Khả năng cách âm là một trong những yếu tố quan trọng trên dòng xe hạng sang, nhưng Lexus cho rằng sự yên tĩnh không nên nhầm lẫn với cách âm tuyệt đối. Việc tạo nên bầu không khí yên tĩnh thực chất là cho phép những âm thanh dễ chịu được phát ra và ngăn ngừa tối đa những tạp âm gây khó chịu.
"Mọi thế hệ ES đều nổi danh với sự yên tĩnh", ông Hirotaka Tsuru, người thiết kế hệ thống kiểm soát tiếng ồn, độ rung và âm thanh trên ES thế hệ thứ 7 nói. "Chúng tôi luôn xem xét khoang lái yên tĩnh là điều quan trọng nhất trong quá trình phát triển mẫu xe mới". Theo Lexus, dòng xe LS và các đối thủ ở phân khúc cao hơn được coi là chuẩn mực để các kỹ sư hoàn thiện ES.
Ở phiên bản mới, ES được trang bị công nghệ an toàn Lexus LSS +2 gồm hệ thống cảnh báo tiền va chạm PCS, cảnh báo lệch và duy trì làn đường, hệ thống điều khiển hành trình chủ động (DRCC) và hệ thống đèn chiếu sáng tự động thích ứng (AHS). Bên cạnh đó, phiên bản mới kế thừa các tính năng an toàn từ phiên bản tiền nhiệm như: cảnh báo điểm mù BSM, cảnh báo phương tiện cắt ngang phía sau RCTA, cảnh báo áp suất lốp TPWS. Trang bị tiêu chuẩn có phanh ABS, EBD và 10 túi khí.
Lexus Việt Nam bổ sung thêm phiên bản ES 300h, tăng lựa chọn cho người dùng. Xe sử dụng động cơ hybrid, kết hợp giữa động cơ xăng 2.5 4 xi-lanh và động cơ điện. Tổng công suất đạt 176 mã lực, sức kéo 221Nm, hộp số vô cấp CVT. Mức phát thải CO2 của ES 300h giảm 30% so với ES 250. ES 300h có thêm trang bị ghế da Semi-Aniline, hệ thống âm thanh vòm 17 loa Mark Levinson và điều hòa ba vùng độc lập.
Bước lên một bậc mới, giá bán ES tăng nhẹ so với đời cũ. Lexus ES 250 và ES 300h có giá bán lần lượt 2,54 tỷ đồng và 3,04 tỷ đồng. "Lexus LS hiện có giá bán thấp nhất 7,28 tỷ đồng, trong khi giá khởi điểm ES ở mức 2,54 tỷ đồng, nhưng công nghệ và thiết kế ở mức tiệm cận", Anh Tuấn, một người đang có dự định mua xe sang trước Tết Nguyên đán nhận định.

The seventh generation ES will be introduced to the UK from January 2019.  Renowned for its comfort, refinement and luxury appointments, the new, seventh generation mid-size saloon, ES builds on its strengths with an all-new chassis that allows for a more dynamic exterior design and even better driving performance.
It is a further expression of Lexus’ design direction and commitment to crafting vehicles that provide more excitement, emotional connection and passion, helping bring the brand’s vision for its future to a wider audience. Traditional buyers will find the new ES more spacious, quieter and safer than ever before, while a new generation of customers will be introduced to a saloon with sharpened performance, class-leading safety technology and a level of craftsmanship rarely found in this market segment.
The eye-catching styling, made possible by the use of an all-new Global Architecture-K (GA-K) platform will have particular appeal to customers, together with a more engaging driving experience and higher safety provisions. The new ES is longer (+65 mm), lower (-5 mm) and wider (+45 mm) than its predecessor. 
Yasuo Kajino, ES Chief Designer, describes the car’s new look as “provocative elegance”. “The ES has always been an elegant luxury saloon. For this generation, we have added daring design elements that challenge buyers’ traditional expectations,” he said.
The design features a fast roofline that emphasises the vehicle’s lower stance and slippery aerodynamics and the rear end is clean and sharply chiselled. A palette of 12 colours includes new beige and green shades alongside Ice Ecru which mimics light reflected off fresh snow and Sunlight Green inspired by ocean water in sunlight. Two exclusive colours – Heat Blue and F White – are available for F Sport models.
When designing the look and feel of the ES’s cabin, Kajino’s team’s starting point was the Lexus Future Interior concept, which blends a driver-centric cockpit with a spacious and comfortable area for the front passenger. The driver’s focus is kept on the road by locating the centre display screen, instrument panel and head-up display in a tight cluster within the field of view. The interior of the F Sport models features a new kind of metallic cabin trim inspired by traditional Japanese sword-making, the Hadori trim has fluctuating wave patterns.
It will be a connected space with optional navigation system with a range of connected services. This system also provides a 12.3-inch multimedia display and second generation Remote Touch touchpad control. The 17-speaker Mark Levinson PurePlay system makes its debut and is created to immerse each individual in the most powerful, precise and pure audio experience yet. 
This ES has been built to deliver a fundamentally higher level of performance than any of its predecessors. Chief Engineer Yasuhiro Sakakibara said: “We knew that this ES had to feel responsive and easy to drive, no matter what kind of road it was on. That can only be achieved with a solid foundation.”
The ES 300h is equipped with a new, fourth generation self-charging hybrid drive system that can deliver exceptional fuel efficiency, responsive performance and minimal emissions for a mid-size luxury saloon. It will be equipped as standard with the latest Lexus Safety System + and can provide added protection for driver and passengers to help prevent an accident from happening. The new features include daytime cyclist detection which is part of the comprehensive Pre-Collision System (PCS) and a two-stage adaptive high beam system (AHS) to turn high beams on and off automatically for the driver.
The ES will usher in a new era for one of Lexus’s longest-established and most popular models designed to engage a wider range of customers. Stronger styling, more dynamic performance, high-quality interior finishes and the latest safety technology will help recast the image of the ES into one that is new and unexpected.

Prodej vozů s dieselovým motorem v Evropě poprvé za poslední tři desetiletí klesl pod 30 procent. Kvůli přísnějším emisním limitům je nahrazují hybridy, elektromobily nebo modely využívající jiný alternativní pohon. Koronavirová epidemie poslala celý trh dolů o čtvrtinu, hybridy a elektromobily byly jedinou rostoucí kategorií.
Vozy na alternativní pohon zaznamenaly v 1. čtvrtletí podle údajů asociace evropských výrobců automobilů ACEA meziroční nárůst prodejů o 46 procent na 544 000 aut, což je téměř 18 procent trhu.
Nejprodávanější ekologickou kategorií byly hybridy, kterých si evropští zákazníci pořídili 310 308, což představuje meziroční nárůst o 49 procent, následují elektromobily se 130 297 prodanými vozy a plug-in hybridy s nárůstem dokonce o 126 procent na 97 913 prodaných vozů.

Alternativní paliva neklesala, nejmenší propad měla Toyota
Značky nabízející modely s alternativním pohonem se v prvním kvartálu letošního roku dokázaly úspěšně bránit poklesu. Zatímco celý trh zaznamenal pokles o 25 procent, například Lexus vykázal růst o 1,4 procenta.
Konkurenční prémiové značky Audi nebo Volvo naopak o 18 až 19 procent klesaly. Z mainstreamových značek byla nejúspěšnější Toyota s poklesem pouze o 7,3 procenta. Její největší soupeři během prvního čtvrtletí zaznamenali dvouciferné ztráty prodejů. Volkswagen se propadl o 24 procent, Renault o 31,8 procenta a Ford dokonce 38 procent.
