If You’re Not First, You’re Last: 5 Fastest Muscle Cars for Those Who Want to Go Fast
New Post has been published on https://coolcarsnews.com/if-youre-not-first-youre-last-5-fastest-muscle-cars-for-those-who-want-to-go-fast/
If You’re Not First, You’re Last: 5 Fastest Muscle Cars for Those Who Want to Go Fast
Tumblr media
So you understand you want a muscle car and you wish to go fast, too. What are the quickest muscle cars on the market?
There’ s more than one cause to buy a muscle car, and they’ re not all about speed.
There’ s have all-American good looks and oodles of torquiness. A throaty roar down the stretch out and the chance to own a piece of traditional American auto history.
First, some parameters. Are we all talking 0-60, or flat out max speed? For our purposes here, we’ ve combined the two.
Therefore here they are in reverse order, the particular five fastest muscle cars for individuals who want to go fast. Take your choose.
Cadillac CTS-V
Cadillac phone calls it the most powerful Cadillac actually built. With a claimed top speed associated with 200 mph, and the 640 hewlett packard supercharged V8 engine pushing 630 pounds of torque, who’ s to dispute?
Possibly, it may be people who see Cadillac’ s fabled high-class as no place for a muscle vehicle. Except this one’ s created to go and that changes everything. We’ d have placed it increased up the list, but a slow 3. 7-second 0-60 performance didn’ t do it any favors.
2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
Run by a supercharged 6. 2 liter OF V8 650 hp with an official 0-60 time of 3. 5 seconds, the particular ZL1 is designed to excel.
At Germany’ s 7. 6-mile oval Papenburg track it broke the 200 your barrier . It was clocked in a startling 202. 3 mph plus staked a claim to the name of world’ s fastest muscles car. Marking 193. 3 your on the return, the result was the official top speed average of 198 your.
Equus Largemouth bass 770
Equus retains the muscled motoring associated with American classics and couples this with the modern era’ s sophisticated technology with notes of ultra-cool luxuriousness.
The result is definitely 6. 2 liters of a high performance engine that waves sixty farewell in a mere 3. 4 mere seconds. Breaking out at a top speed associated with 200 mph, so says Equus, the 770 lights up the highway like a pack of quality H4 bulbs .
2019 Dodge Opposition SRT Hellcat Redeye
The Redeye is right presently there with the quickest street cars out there.
If your thirst to get speed isn’t quenched by the Hellcat’s zip to sixty in 3 or more. 4 seconds, the quarter-mile from 11. 4, or flat out rates of speed that have seen 203 mph within the rear-view, you’re dryer than Avoid knows what to do with.
Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat
Except probably for the Hellcat Charger. Is this the particular fastest American muscle car available?
In 2015, Avoid named it the particular fastest family sedan on the planet. Hellcat doesn’t sound like it had been named with the kids in mind with 206 miles an hour with the wind flow behind, it doesn’t behave enjoy it.
Using back to back again runs, Dodge marked the official typical at 204. 55 mph plus pointed out that their tested model had been no different from what you’d purchase in the store. Except for the tires.
The Fastest Muscles Cars of All Time
So there they are, the 5 fastest muscle cars, all designed with speed in mind.
Plus whether you’re talking about how rapidly they hit sixty, knock away the quarter-mile mark, or their own rubber-burning, throat-spurting, road-blazing flat out rates of speed down the tarmac, it makes almost no distinction. Each one is ridiculously quick.
Which one is the fastest? Who actually knows. It’s the never-ending discussion in bars, clubs, and publication reviews across America. Long might it continue.

2019 Audi S6 Price, SPecs
2019 Audi S6 Release Date
2019 Audi S6
  2019 Audi S6
2019 Audi S6 Review – The current S6 is one of the fastest four-door sedans on the market, with one of the most discreet aspects that makes it very impressive to watch. Unfortunately, however, the current model is going out of style, but that was to be expected since the A6 has been around for a while. Fortunately, the car will be replaced in the near future by a new vehicle. With the new model, they will also launch the Audi S6 2019, a new high-performance sedan that could easily become the fastest car in its class.
The S6 also offers better performance and fuel economy through a lighter platform, improved materials and new or revised engines. The new A6 should start in the first half of 2018, but the S6 should not be far behind.
The S6 will have the same style tracks, but as usual, will have a more aggressive exterior and a more powerful powertrain.
SpecsCompetition
0-60 time: 4.2 sec. (Est.) Top Speed: 155 mph size: Mid-Size 450 HP and 406 pound-feet
BMW 5-series Cadillac CTS Lexus GS Mercedes-Benz E Class
2019 Audi S6 Interior
The new grill has three horizontal bars at the top, three more in the center with the bottom of plastic and one below. While the main grille does not have the honeycomb mesh seen on the RS models, the side vents on the bumper have a similar design.
The headlights are also based on the A8. Not only are they thinner, they also have a more angular design. Together with the new grille, they give the car a more sporty and wider look. The rounding of the new S6 is the element in the form of a separator in the lower part of the bumper and a more muscular engine bonnet.
The rear is also completely camouflaged and equipped with prototype taillights, but I’m sure I can see a thin bar of light that runs just above the location of the license. This means that the taillights will mimic those of the A8, in the same way that the new E-class takes much of the larger S-class. Two characteristics seem to distinguish the S6 from the standard model: a small spoiler on the boot lid and the bottom
2019 Audi S6 Interior
The 2019 Audi S6 will present a much smaller cabin. This will allow Audi to concentrate on providing the best experience without having to give the driver the impression that there is no place for it.
Expect a standard digital driver screen, a massive panoramic infotainment system and all the best Audi materials. The S6, being the performance model, will probably receive carbon fiber inserts, Alcantara in the seat reinforcements and the possibility of an Alcantara upholstery.
A large screen should replace the board and provide data on speed, rpm, fuel economy and much more. The screen should have a custom start screen and some unique features compared to the A6 standard, but we will learn more about this when the sedan is released. Although performance cars are usually equipped with sports steering wheels, the S6 will probably not be equipped with a flat bottom unit. Instead, the steering wheel should be identical to the A6 backrest for some additional buttons, and an “S6” badge on the lower radius. However, Audi will probably offer an optional RS-style flat bottom wheel.
Leather should be standard on the S6, but customers will also have the opportunity to obtain Alcantara inserts. The carbon fiber edge can also be offered in addition to the usual aluminum, but you will have to pay extra for the lightweight material. As usual, the standard upholstery will be black, but if you prefer a sharper contrast, you can find some bright colors, such as white and red, in the list of options. Contrasting stitching, red “S6” badge and very bright surfaces must complete the design.
2019 Audi S6 Engine
The current S6 is a powerful sedan thanks to its turbocharged 4.0-liter V6 engine, with 450 horsepower and 406 lb-ft of torque, but production is expected to increase significantly for the new model. On the other hand, Audi has recently trimmed some engines, and we have seen the V-8 replaced by a smaller twin-turbo V-6 of 2.9 liters. A similar motor has been introduced for the new RS5. In the coupe, the V-6 presents 450 horsepower and 442 foot-pounds. A similar start would not be a major improvement in the S6, but the lighter bases and improved aerodynamics should bring significant improvements in the performance department. However, I think Audi will push the V6 a little further, probably around 470 hp and 460 lb-ft.
With these numbers, the improved automatic transmission and all the improvements mentioned above, the sprint from 0 to 60 mph should go from 4.4 seconds to 4.2 or 4.1 more attractive tics. On the other hand, the maximum speed will remain blocked at 155 mph. The S Tronic automatic transmission must be new, while the standard Quattro all-wheel-drive system must be delivered in a revised version compared to the outgoing model. Software changes and new electronic components will make the new S6 more responsive and agile.
2019 Audi S6 price and Release
Like most new generation vehicles, the next S6 should be a little more expensive than the outgoing model. With the A6 base prices likely to increase from $ 47,600 to almost $ 50,000, the S6 should be around $ 72,000 or $ 73,000 before the options. The current sedan starts at $ 70,900 in the United States.

Forbidden Fruit Review: 2019 Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic Wagon
Mercedes has for years owned the performance wagon segment in the U.S. Mind you, it’s a vanishingly small piece of the market. Between the demise of the achingly quixotic Cadillac CTS-V wagon in 2014—556-hp supercharged V-8 under the hood, and 514 of them built with a six-speed manual transmission—and this year’s launch of the Audi RS 6 Avant, the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S wagon and Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo Turbo S have been the only players in the segment.
Over in Europe, though, go-fast wagon enthusiasts are spoiled for choice. The midsize Mercedes-AMG C 63 and Audi RS 4 Avant sell alongside their larger siblings. BMW fans can order the 455-hp Alpina B3, based on the 3 Series wagon. Mini offers a 306-hp John Cooper Works version of the Clubman wagon, and Volkswagen a 296-hp Golf R wagon. Hell, even Škoda is in on the act, its front-drive 245-hp Octavia vRS wagon fitted with 19-inch alloy wheels, an electric limited-slip diff, and available with a six-speed manual transmission.
Of them all, the 2019 Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic wagon is perhaps the Goldilocks option: quick and full of AMG character, but not too big and not too expensive.
Europe’s C 43 4Matic wagon is mechanically identical to the recently refreshed C 43 sedan that is part of the Mercedes lineup in the U.S. That means an AMG-massaged twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 under the hood that develops 385 hp at 6,100 rpm and 384 lb-ft of torque from 2,500 rpm to 5,000 rpm. The engine drives all four wheels through the nine-speed AMG Speedshift TCT 9G transmission, with 69 percent of the torque directed to the rear axle. AMG Ride Control sport suspension is standard, as are 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/45 tires up front, and 245/40 items at the rear. Cosmetic upgrades include more aggressively styled AMG fascias front and rear, side skirts, and four bazooka-sized exhaust pipes peeking out from under the rear bumper.
Price? In the U.S. the AMG E 63 S wagon is listed at $111,750, a four percent premium over the E 63 S sedan. Applying the same 4 percent premium to the AMG C 43 sedan’s price of $55,950 would suggest a theoretical U.S. market price of about $58,200 for the wagon, or about $1,200 more than Mercedes-Benz USA currently charges for the AMG GLC 43 sport ute.
If you like driving, it’s worth the premium. The all-wheel-drive C 43 4Matic wagon delivers pretty much all the practicality of the GLC 43 SUV (which, let’s face it, no one will actually take any further off-road than the local supermarket parking lot) with none of the dynamic compromises. Weighing 376 pounds less than its SUV cousin, the C43 wagon gets to 60 mph with less effort—it’s at least a tenth of a second quicker—and, helped by its lower center of gravity, feels more agile and planted through the twisties. It rides better, even on the optional 19-inch wheels fitted to our tester, and the lower seating position means lateral body motions are less exaggerated. There’s more oily precision in the steering, and the 4Matic all-wheel-drive system gives you exactly the same traction on snowy roads as the GLC 43.
The GLC 43 makes sense if you really need an extra 3.2 inches of ground clearance or have to haul around 3.2 cubic feet more stuff. If you don’t, the AMG C 43 4Matic wagon is way more satisfying to drive, a quick and comfortable cruiser that will devour the interstates yet put a smile on your face on a winding two-lane as you surf the growling twin-turbo V-6’s fat torque curve. And it looks cooler, too; low slung and sleeker, with none of the faux-utilitarian design clichés automakers seem obliged to stick on even the most road-oriented SUVs.
Maybe, once we’re bored with SUVs that are heavier and thirstier than they need to be, and less useful than they pretend to be, America will fall in love with the wagon again. Let’s hope so, because that would open the door to the U.S. market for the engagingly fast, supremely competent, and relatively attainable Mercedes-AMG C 43 4Matic wagon, the sports car for the modern family.

New Post has been published on http://fastmusclecar.com/muscle-cars/if-youre-not-first-youre-last-5-fastest-muscle-cars-for-those-who-want-to-go-fast/
If You're Not First, You're Last: 5 Fastest Muscle Cars for Those Who Want to Go Fast
So you know you want a muscle car and you want to go fast, too. What are the fastest muscle cars on the market?
There’s more than one reason to buy a muscle car, and they’re not all about speed.
There’s have all-American good looks and oodles of torquiness.  A throaty roar down the stretch and the chance to own a piece of classic American auto history.
First, some parameters. Are we talking 0-60, or flat out top speed? For our purposes here, we’ve combined the two.
So here they are in reverse order, the five fastest muscle cars for those who want to go fast. Take your pick.
Cadillac CTS-V
Cadillac calls it the most powerful Cadillac ever built. With a claimed top speed of 200 mph, and the 640 hp supercharged V8 engine pushing 630 pounds of torque, who’s to argue?
Possibly, it may be those who see Cadillac’s fabled luxury as no place for a muscle car. Except this one’s built to go and that changes everything. We’d have placed it higher up the list, but a sluggish 3.7-second 0-60 performance didn’t do it any favors.
2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
Powered by a supercharged 6.2 liter V8 650 hp with an official 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds, the ZL1 is designed to excel.
At Germany’s 7.6-mile oval Papenburg track it broke the 200 mph barrier. It was clocked at a startling 202.3 mph and staked a claim to the title of world’s fastest muscle car. Marking 193.3 mph on the return, the result was an official top speed average of 198 mph.
Equus Bass 770
Equus retains the muscled motoring of American classics and couples it with the modern era’s refined technology with notes of ultra-cool luxuriousness.
The result is 6.2 liters of a supercharged engine that waves sixty goodbye in a mere 3.4 seconds. Breaking out at a top speed of 200 mph, so says Equus, the 770 lights up the roadway like a pack of quality H4 bulbs.
2019 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye
The Redeye is right there with the quickest street cars on the market.
If your thirst for speed isn’t quenched by the Hellcat’s zip to sixty in 3.4 seconds, the quarter-mile at 11.4, or flat out speeds that have seen 203 mph in the rear-view, you’re dryer than Dodge knows what to do with.
Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat
Except maybe for the Hellcat Charger. Is this the fastest American muscle car ever made?
In 2015, Dodge named it the fastest family sedan on the planet. Hellcat doesn’t sound like it was named with the kids in mind and at 206 miles an hour with the wind behind, it doesn’t behave like it.
Using back to back runs, Dodge marked the official average at 204.55 mph and pointed out that their tested model were no different from what you’d buy in the store. Except for the tires.
The Fastest Muscle Cars of All Time
So there they are, the five fastest muscle cars, all built with speed in mind.
And whether you’re talking about how quickly they hit sixty, knock out the quarter-mile mark, or their rubber-burning, throat-spurting, road-blazing flat out speeds down the tarmac, it makes almost no difference. Each one is ridiculously quick.
Which one is the fastest? Who really knows. It’s the never-ending debate in bars, clubs, and magazine reviews across America. Long may it continue.

Cadillac XT5 Platinum; sexy, inviting and not too shabby on the road.
Text and Photos by Michael Hozjan
Tumblr media
Open the door to the XT5 and you immediately want to jump in the driver’s seat – it’s that inviting. The combination of brushed suede, leather and wood accents is attractive, to say thee least.
Tumblr media
Introduced in 2017 as the replacement for the slab sided SRX the XT5’s design is refreshing and clearly Cadillac with its signature V-shaped grille and hockey stick lamps.  Furthermore it gives this crossover a Cadillac Family look with their sedan line rather than a gussied up Tahoe.
The 2019 Cadillac XT5 comes in four trim levels: the base XT5 aptly named Standard is the sole front wheel drive model. Next up the corporate ladder are the all-wheel-drive models starting with the Luxury, followed by the Premium Luxury, and lastly the Platinum. I suspect most buyers will be satisfied with the feature loaded Standard model starting at a meager $44,795, one of the lowest base prices in the class. Even the all-wheel-drive rendition starts off nicely priced at $54,295. From there, the options and prices add up real quick with the Premium Luxury starting at $61,795 or my top-of-the-line Platinum edition’s starting price of $72,195.
For 2019 you’ve got the choice of some new colors; Shadow Metallic, Red Horizon Tintcoat, Manhattan Noir Metallic, and Dark Mocha Metallic. As well, there’s a new Kona Brown leather interior with Sapele wood trim.
Tumblr media
No matter which drive train or trim level you choose, the only available engine is a 3.6L V6 that punches out 310 horses and 271 lb-ft of torque. Incidentally that’s the same combo that powers the ATS, CTS and CT6 sedans. While other luxury midsize crossovers and SUVs do offer stronger engine options, particularly the performance-oriented marques, the Caddy’s power output should prove more than adequate and holds its own against the most. The V6 is quiet and well isolated from the cockpit, however, mash the go pedal and the engine gets loud.
The AWD trims have three driver-selectable settings, fuel-saving front-wheel-drive only, Sport mode which sends power to the limited slip rear axle, and the AWD setting that continuously maintains all-wheel power for slippery conditions. The system can distribute 100 percent of torque to either axle as conditions warrant, and the differential can split the rear axle’s share left to right enough to put all the power to one wheel, masterfully distributing torque to manage traction and optimize handling.
Like the XT4 reviewed here last week, the V6 also features cylinder deactivation, enabling it to run on four cylinders under a light load. The V6 also includes automatic start/stop. The V6 comes mated to a smooth shifting eight-speed with the only downside being an awkward up-and-over shift into Reverse.
On the road a stiff chassis and quick steering response provide a composed curve-hugging ride with a minimum amount of body sway. The optional adaptive suspension is standard equipment on the Premium Luxury and Platinum trims and although it’s not a sports oriented crossover like the Macan, it does help the XT5 challenge the twisties with confidence.
Hit Quebec’s third world pavement, however, and you’ll feel jitters reverberating through the cabin –not the Caddy of old. I’d like to get my hands on one of the base wagons equipped with 18” wheels to see if this trait would be improved over my tester’s 20” units. The fad of going with thin profile tires as a performance excuse vs. smoother rides is something I’ll discuss another day. For now let’s leave it as food for thought in your purchasing decision.
Like I mentioned earlier the XT5’s cabin is inviting, combing elegance and modern design into a sleek airy package with good outward visibility. My Platinum came with leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear-outboard seats, and a heated steering wheel.
Tumblr media
The centre dash panel is clad in suede, visually appealing but a poor choice in a high-traffic area. It feels great, but I wonder how well it will wear as my tester had two rings on the each of the door panels. (see above)
Tumblr media
Rear seat passengers will appreciate the sliding and reclining second row. The XT5's wireless smartphone charging pad gets an upgrade for 2019 and offering 15 watts of juice (over last year's 5 watts) to speed charging times and no, my Android didn’t get charged and I had to revert to one of the four USB ports. As mentioned in the XT4 review, Cadillac’s CUE infotainment system has been greatly improved. The 8.0-inch infotainment touchscreen, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and an onboard 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot is standard. Base trims get a Bose audio with eight speakers and audiophiles can upgrade to a 14-speaker system on Luxury and Premium Luxury versions while Platinum model offers the upgraded sound system as standard equipment.
Tumblr media
All 2019 XT5 models come with a rearview camera and rear parking sensors. Standard fare on the Platinum but available on lesser equipped trims include rain-sensing windshield wipers, rear parking sensors, rear cross traffic alert, forward collision alert, a safety alert seat, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane change assist, blind spot monitoring, pedestrian braking, forward and reverse automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, a rear-camera mirror (see XT4 piece), active park assist, a head-up display, and a surround-vision camera.
Tumblr media
As good as some of these items are, I’d gladly trade them all in for Cadillac’s Night Vision system that was discontinued in 2004 for whatever reason.  While most of theses systems are little more than driving aids for the inattentive, Night Vision actually helps you see beyond the high beam’s illumination.  Common guys bring it back.
Oh and while I’m nit picking, why is there no knob for the audio system’s volume? There’s a command on the steering wheel, yes, but otherwise you need to use the touchscreen, which is about as quick as molasses on a warm day. Why have knobs gotten so taboo?
Oh and pray tell why is it that when I have a comfortable volume level on sat radio, switching to AM that it nearly breaks my eardrums and when the nav system gives me directions I can barely hear it? If we can put a man on the moon…
On a positive note, top marks for giving us real buttons to control seat temps, and the heated steering wheel, instead of burying them in computer menus like some manufacturers do.
Tumblr media
There's 30 cubic feet of cargo space behind the XT5's second-row seats, and 63 cubic feet with the rear seats folded completely flat. That's about average for the class. You can slightly increase the total cargo space by sliding the rear seats forward. A metal divider in the back slides and locks in place to keep cargo from sliding around (nice), and there’s a storage bin hidden under the floor.
Tumblr media
The XT5 isn’t perfect but it drives well, has a roomy airy cabin that coddles. It’s not the cheapest crossover on the market and it certainly isn’t the priciest. It’s not a performance SUV but a sporty luxury crossover. If you’re shopping luxury crossovers, don’t dismiss it on your list.
 Price as tested: $74,445*
*Includes A/C excise tax, destination charges and optional block heater.

Nearly 150 Collector Cars Seized in an FBI Raid Head to Auction
In December 2018, federal agents from the FBI and U.S. Marshals Service raided the offices of DC Solar and the home of company founders Paulette and Jeff Carpoff, exposing the supposed maker of solar-powered generators and light towers for an $800-million-plus Ponzi scheme. Started in 2008, DC Solar attracted investments from Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway and Progressive insurance. The company brought in $810 million in total, $340 million of which came from Berkshire Hathaway. Now, almost a year after the FBI showed up at the Carpoffs’ 4,100-square-foot California mansion, 149 collector cars seized during the raid are going up for auction.
So if you thought auction season was over, you thought wrong. As it turns out, the hottest (in more ways than one) car auction of 2019 has yet to take place. The auction is set for October 26 in Woodland, California, near Sacramento. The entire collection is valued at more than $6 million, and there’s a lot to pick from. We’ve narrowed the field down to the 15 best cars on the list. If you ever wanted a car with a rap sheet, this is your chance. Check out our picks below.
1993 AM General Hummer
There are actually four Hummers for sale next weekend, all of which are H1s and one of which doesn’t start. The Hummer H1 was essentially a military M998 HUMVEE that was modified by AM General for civilian use. Production started in 1991 and the H1 was built until 2006. Fun fact: Arnold Schwarzenegger bought the first two H1s that came off the production line.
1964 Austin Mini Cooper
The current Mini Cooper isn’t really “mini” anymore, but this Austin Mini, originally designed as a compact city car for a bustling 1960s Britain, is true to the name. This Mark 1 Mini has just 10,000 miles on the clock, but the listing on the website reads “Start?: Yes, but difficult.” Are there any master Mini mechanics out there who want to take a look?
2017 Cadillac CTS-V
At MotorTrend we’re big fans of the last CTS-V. In 2018 the Alpha platform-based CTS won MotorTrend’s coveted Car of the Year award. Even though the CTS is out of production, the CTS-V is still one of the most powerful and best handling big sedans in the business.
1939 Cadillac Limousine
There are plenty of good American cars on the docket for next weekend’s auction, but if you’re looking for something extra patriotic this 1939 Cadillac Limousine with two American flags on the front is the perfect car for you. Not to mention it’s one of the most unique vehicles featured here.
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle
The second-generation Chevelle was redesigned with new front and rear bumpers, Coke-bottle hips, and most importantly a longer hood. It looked tough. It was also the perfect size to accompany a massive engine swap, and it looks like this car has had an LS motor dropped right into it. No details are given on which LS motor it is, but this retro-modern Chevy mashup has us excited.
1969 Chevrolet El Camino
There are plenty of reasons to want this sweet El Camino. First of all, it’s got a killer almost-British-Racing-Green paint job. It’s got what looks to be a modern engine. It’s basically a second-generation Chevelle with a truck bed. Not only that, but it’s only got 1,020 miles on the odometer. It might be one of the cleanest El Caminos on sale right now—or at least the cleanest one formerly owned by a millionaire scam artist.
1935 Chrysler Airflow
Manufactured for just four years, the Airflow was one of the first cars that took aerodynamics seriously, hence the name. It also ditched the ladder-frame chassis that was popular at the time and stretched the wheelbase of the common American sedan to give a better ride and stability at speed. It was marketed as “the first real motor car since the invention of the automobile” because of all the innovations that were baked in. These cars are rare, too. Less than 30,000 were made over the course of its four-year run.
2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon
This might be the strangest way to get your hands on a Demon. As you’re probably well aware, the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon was a one-year-only drag racing special that packed an 840-hp version of the Hellcat’s motor and was able to run a quarter mile in less than 10 seconds. Just 3,300 units were made, and used examples are still trading hands for well over the original $84,995 base asking price. This one is apparently no different; as of this writing, it already has an $83,000 bid on it.
1969 Dodge Daytona/1970 Plymouth Superbirds
This 1969 Dodge Daytona is joined by three Plymouth Superbirds on the docket. The Dodge Daytona and the Superbird were the fastest muscle cars of their day. The Daytona was the first car to do more than 200 mph during a NASCAR race. The Superbird is the car the Daytona essentially birthed. The Plymouth got numerous changes based on lessons learned during the Daytona’s NASCAR run. Hard to go wrong with any of these if you’re looking for a cool piece of muscle car royalty.
2002 Dodge Viper RT-10
The Carpoffs apparently had a thing for good old American muscle, and even this 2002 Dodge Viper made its way into their garage. Infamous for being a little too hot to handle, we still think this Viper would make a sweet addition to any enthusiast’s garage.
1973 Fiat 500
The Fiat 500 will no longer be sold in America. That was the declaration made by FCA this past August. As sad as that may be, the original 500 is still one of the cutest little cars ever made, and this red example is extremely clean. Small cars like the 500 and the Mini represent back-to-basics-driving, and all for one heck of a low price, too.
1967 Ford Mustang GT
This 1967 Shelby GT500 “Eleanor” clone is one of the coolest cars on this list. If you grew up watching 2000’s Gone In 60 Seconds, this is the perfect Mustang for you. It’s only got 1,600 miles on the clock, too. So it’s just waiting to be driven.
2007 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500
This isn’t just another Shelby GT500. It’s THE Shelby GT500. This is the only car Carroll Shelby personally OK’d to wear the white racing stripes. It also included one-of-a-kind memorabilia signed by both Carroll Shelby and Bill Ford when it was new, and they’re still in the car. Check the photos to see the autographed monroney sitting pretty in the trunk. Jeff Carpoff paid $1 million for it at an auction in 2017 and it’s currently going for just over $30,000. Talk about depreciation…
2014 Jaguar XKR-S GT
What happens when Jaguar’s Engineered to Order division get their hands on the already special Jaguar XKR-S? You’re left with the lighter, harder-riding, and even more capable XKR-S GT, of course. We liked this car when we tested it in 2014, and as of this writing the winning bid for this example is just $40,025. That’s one heck of a deal.
1961 Volkswagen Beetle
The original people’s car, the brainchild of Ferdinand Porsche, and one of the best-selling cars ever made, the Volkswagen Beetle is a bona-fide automotive icon. The VW Beetle had the longest production run of any model, with more than 21 million units built between 1938 and 2010—easily making it one of the most influential cars of all time. Want a piece of automotive history that actually runs? This is your chance.
