Lamar Jackson
Lamar Demeatrice Jackson Jr. (born January 7, 1997) is an American professional footballquarterback for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Louisville Cardinals, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2016, and was selected by the Ravens with the final pick (No. 32) in the first round of the 2018 NFL draft. Intended to serve as a backup in his rookie season, Jackson became the Ravens' starting quarterback after an injury to the incumbent Joe Flacco. He went on to clinch a division title with the team and became the youngest NFL quarterback to start a playoff game at age 21.[1]

as a College Football Enjoyer it’s fascinating to see NFL fans collectively discover Brock Purdy over the past few weeks. Because in my mind it’s like “oh yeah, Brock Purdy, it’s cool that he’s still around” because I’ve been hearing about him since like 2018. And meanwhile all of y’all are like “what a cool out-of-nowhere story!” No judgment just think it’s neat
Yeah all things considered I feel like Brock Purdy is really just a testament to what a complete goddamn crapshoot the NFL draft is. Like I'm sure there are reasons why every team in the NFL felt he wasn't cracked up to be a starter but clearly none of those ultimately panned out.

Welcome to Atlanta - Mike Penix Jr!
Kirk Cousins is coming off an injury and we don’t have a solid number 2 QB on the team. Heineke has only 1 year left on his contract. Outside of Penix’s injuries from 2018-2021, he’s a top 5 pick in this years draft. Statistically, he has the most yards and attempts in CFP in 2022 and 2023. (Best since Mahommes in 2015-2016). He was also runner up for the Heisman trophy. If the Caleb hadn’t won last year and Jayden this year, they probably wouldn’t have been drafted higher. (No shade to those guys) Also, Heisman winners haven’t guaranteed winning seasons or championships in the NFL. (Mariota)
Penix Jr. has proven that the ACL is fully healed and that he can produce at high levels post surgery. Cousins has not.
Considering Cousin is only on a 4 year contract and aging out (36 years old), this pick represents a “best available” player and allows us to have someone in place to learn the new system with a very high upside.
Cousins was the best QB available in free agency this year. The decision to acquire was made with that in mind. Penix Jr. in the draft fell into our lap as “arguably”one of best QBs in CFP.
Also, his age (2-3 year older than the other drafted QBs) does not equate to longevity against players who will not sit behind another QB. Think mileage on a car that’s only driven locally and on weekends. The sooner these guys are on the field the soooner they begin their “wear and tear”.
Just my opinion…
I was surprised by this pick as much as everyone else. I just spent the last 3 hours researching it myself, to better understand why that was the best choice for Raheem, Terry, and the rest of the front office. I’m comfortable saying this was a very good pick. It’s ok if you disagree, drop it in the comments.

These 3 Receivers Have the Most TDs in Seattle Seahawks History
Louis Abalos is a Puyallup, Washington-based Marine who works as a career planner. He's a former Navy League of the United States Seattle Council Recruiter of the Year and has won seven Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals. Outside of work, Louis Abalos is a fan of the National Football League's (NFL) Seattle Seahawks.
Nine receivers have scored at least 20 touchdowns with the Seahawks since the team's inception in 1976. Below is a look at the three all-time leaders in that category:
1. Steve Largent - A member of the Seahawks from its inaugural season in 1976 until 1989, Largent scored a franchise-best 100 touchdowns in 200 regular season games with Seattle. He is also the Seahawks' all-time leader in receiving yards with 13,089. Largent was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995.
2. Tyler Lockett - A one-time Pro Bowl receiver, Lockett has scored 54 touchdowns in 127 games since being selected by the Seahawks in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He scored a career-best 10 touchdowns in 2018 and 2020.
3. Doug Baldwin - Undrafted out of the University of Stanford, Baldwin signed with the Seahawks in July 2011 and spent eight seasons with the team, during which time he scored 49 touchdowns and recorded 6,563 receiving yards. He led the NFL in touchdowns with 14 in 2015.

Plaxico Burress Net Worth, Biography, Career, Income, Home & Age
What is Plaxico Burress' Net Worth? American professional football player Plaxico Burress has a $1 million fortune. Wide receiver Plaxico Burress spent 12 seasons in the NFL. Before joining the Pittsburgh Steelers again for his final NFL season, he originally played for the New York Giants, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh Steelers. Burress defeated the previously unbeaten New England Patriots in the Super Bowl XLII while playing for the Giants. Burress is also relatively well-known for a gunshot incident from 2009 in which he unintentionally shot himself in a nightclub in New York City. According to reports, Burress entered a club with a loaded gun and shot himself in the thigh. Two days later, he handed himself up on charges of unlawful possession of a pistol. Because of the ongoing legal saga, the Giants released him. Burress agreed to a plea agreement that resulted in a two-year jail sentence. He has engaged in a number of additional court cases including claims of moving violations, auto accidents, and contract violations with automobile dealerships. Career Earnings Plaxico Burress earned approximately $29.5 million in salary over the course of his NFL career. Here is a breakdown of his salary by year: - 2000: $1.23 million (including signing bonus) - 2001: $450,000 - 2002: $550,000 - 2003: $650,000 - 2004: $2.2 million - 2005: $1.5 million (including signing bonus) - 2006: $6.75 million - 2007: $3.29 million - 2008: $3.46 million - 2009: Did not play (suspended) - 2010: Did not play (suspended) - 2011: $3 million - 2012: $925,000 Total career earnings: ~$29.5 million Financial Problems In Totowa, New Jersey, a 5,500 square foot estate was purchased by Plaxico for $1.5 million in 2005. The property was reportedly in foreclosure in 2018, a year after Burress allegedly stopped making mortgage payments. For $999,00, the house was sold in 2015. Early Life Plaxico Burress was born on August 12, 1977 in Norfolk, Virginia. He has two brothers. As a teenager, Burress attended Green Run High School in Virginia Beach, and graduated in 1996. He went on to spend one year at Fork Union Military Academy. Collegiate Career When he was in college, Burress played football for Michigan State. As a Spartan, he was an immediate success, catching 65 passes in his debut season to set a new mark for the most in a single Big Ten Conference season. The following year, Burress outperformed himself with 66 receptions for 1,142 yards and 12 touchdowns. He had 131 receptions, 2,155 receiving yards, and 20 touchdown catches in his two seasons at Michigan State. With a school-record 13 receptions for 185 yards and three touchdowns in a victory over the University of Florida in the 2000 Citrus Bowl, Burress wrapped up his undergraduate career. Pittsburgh Steelers The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Burress with the eighth overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft. His role in a historic mistake, in which he spiked a ball he thought was dead but was actually live, allowing the Jacksonville Jaguars' Danny Clark to recover it and gain 44 yards, made his first season with the team somewhat difficult. Burress improved in his second season with the Steelers, breaking the 1,000-yard barrier. However, his best season was his third with the team, with new career highs in receptions (78) and yards (1,325). Burress also participated in his first playoff game. Altogether, Burress recorded 261 receptions for 4,164 yards and 22 touchdowns during his five seasons and 71 games with the Steelers. New York Giants In 2005, Burress shifted to the New York Giants. His first season with the organization was productive; he caught 76 receptions for 1,214 yards, which helped the Giants win the NFC East. In the end, the Carolina Panthers eliminated the team in the first round of the playoffs. Burress set a new career best in touchdowns in 2006, scoring 10 despite playing in only 15 games due to injuries. His best NFL season may have been the following one, when he assisted the Giants in their run to Super Bowl XLII. The Giants defeated the previously unbeaten New England Patriots 17-14 after Burress grabbed the game-winning touchdown pass. Burress was unhappy with his salary after his outstanding performance in Super Bowl XLII and refused to participate in mandated mini-camp practices with the Giants. In his opinion, he received a lower salary than other notable NFL receivers. He was briefly suspended in September 2008 after failing to arrive for work. Burress eventually made a comeback, but not before receiving four fines for various unsportsmanlike conduct offenses. In the midst of his accidental shooting court case, he played his final game with the Giants in late November before being released by the team in April 2009. Final Playing Years With the New York Jets, Burress returned to the NFL in 2011. Before re-signing with his first squad, the Steelers, in late 2012, he spent one season with the group. He grabbed a touchdown pass from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger on December 30 for the first time since 2004. The pass was a 12-yard score. Burress later agreed to a contract to stay with the Steelers until 2013. Nevertheless, his NFL playing career came to an end when he was placed on injured reserve in August after tearing his rotator cuff during practice. Legal Troubles Over the years, Burress has run into numerous legal issues. The most serious incidents happened in late 2008 and early 2009, starting with his unintentional self-inflicted gunshot wound at the LQ nightclub in New York City. When Burress grabbed for a revolver that had become loose in his pants pocket, the gun shot into his right leg. He spent a short time in the hospital before turning himself in to the police, who had strangely not been informed of the occurrence. Burress only had a Florida concealed carry license that had expired, it turned out. He was charged by a Manhattan grand jury in the summer of 2009 with two counts of second-degree felony criminal possession of a firearm and one count of second-degree misdemeanor reckless endangerment. Burress later consented to a plea agreement that included a two-year prison term and an extra two-year period of supervised release. He finally served 20 months before being freed in 2011. Beside the unintentional shooting event, Burress has faced other civil lawsuits for a variety of reasons, such as failing to uphold a publicity arrangement with Chevrolet, which had also leased him a car that was wrecked, and for allegedly inflicting lasting harm on a woman whose car he struck. Then, in 2015, Burress ran into difficulties after being charged by the State of New Jersey with failing to pay income taxes. He might have received a conditional jail sentence and up to five years of probation during his sentencing hearing in early 2016. Personal Life In 2005, Burress married Tiffany Glenn. The couple has a son named Elijah and a daughter named Giovanna, and lives in Totowa, New Jersey. Read the full article

Austrailian-born offensive tackle Jordan Mailata took a gamble on himself, left his homeland and tried out for the NFL's International Player Pathway Program. It paid off -- he was selected by the Eagles in the 7th round of the 2018 draft.
Mailata is 27, 6'8" and 366 pounds and is a force to be reckoned with as he protects QB Jalen Hurts. And the team just rewarded him a 3-year, $66M extension for his outstanding play.

Will Cowboys trade or cut Ezekiel Elliot?
By: BenJarmin Munguia
Date: November 3, 2024
The second reunion for running back Ezekiel Elliot and the Dallas Cowboys almost looks like they are coming in for another divorce.
On Saturday, it was announced that running back Ezekiel Elliot would not be traveling with the team to Atlanta to play the Atlanta Falcons. He’ll be inactive for that matchup due to disciplinary actions. According to NFL Reporter Jane Slater, Eliiot has been “distracted this season” and has missed three team meetings, with Friday’s meeting being the final straw.
At First, Elliot was drafted in the 2016 NFL Draft from Ohio State; he was drafted 43rd overall by the Dallas Cowboys. Elliot was the NFL’s rushing leader in 2016, and in 2018, everything fell off afterward, and he was cut after the 2022 season.
After spending a year in New England, the Cowboys needed a running back after Tony Pollard signed with the Tennessee Titans in free agency. They tried the Ezekiel Elliot experience again, signing the former Ohio State standout to a one-year $3 million contract, this time with more negative results.
Elliot has only rushed for 148 yards on 41 carries, scoring 2 touchdowns in his second reunion with Dallas. It’s also important to note that the Cowboys are last in rushing yards on the season, with 519 yards.
It’s pretty possible that Elliot could be traded before the trade deadline on Tuesday, or the Cowboys could pull the plug on the reunion early and release him since they do have Dalvin Cook and Rico Dowdle on their roster.

He played college football for the Stanford Cardinal, beginning his career as a wide receiver before moving to cornerback as a junior. He was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL draft. He was selected to the Pro Bowl five times and voted All-Pro five times, including three times to the first team, and led the NFL in interceptions in 2013, when he helped the Seahawks win their first Super Bowl. He is regarded as one of the greatest cornerbacks of all time.
During his time as a member of the Seahawks, he was part of the “Legion of Boom”, the Seahawks’ starting secondary which contributed to Seattle having the best pass defense in the NFL in 2013. This unit helped the Seahawks win Super Bowl XLVIII; their 43–8 win over the Denver Broncos matched the third-largest margin of victory in the history of the Super Bowl. The Seahawks made it to Super Bowl XLIX the following season, losing in a close game against the New England Patriots. During his time with the Seahawks, they led the league in scoring defense for four straight years (2012-15) making them the first team to do so since the 1950s Cleveland Browns.

The Buffalo Bills acquired Amari Cooper in a trade Tuesday with the Cleveland Browns, adding a true No. 1 wide receiver for star quarterback Josh Allen.
The Bills received Cooper and a 2025 sixth-round draft pick for a 2025 third-round pick and a seventh-round selection in 2026.
Cooper, 30, fills the No. 1 receiver void for the Bills that was opened when Buffalo traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans before the season.
Fewest completions per game targeting WR
Only three qualifying quarterbacks are averaging fewer completions per game when targeting wide receivers than Josh Allen this season. It's also the lowest mark for Allen through six games of a season since 2018, his rookie year.QBCompletions per gameJacoby Brissett7.2Will Levis7.4Justin Fields7.8Josh Allen8.5-- ESPN Research
The Bills (4-2) completed the deal hours after their AFC East rivals, the New York Jets, made their own blockbuster trade for a wide receiver when they acquired Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders.
In recent weeks, the Browns had fielded multiple offers on Cooper, who is in the final season of a five-year deal he originally signed as a member of the Dallas Cowboys. The fact that Cleveland converted the majority of Cooper's $20 million base salary into a signing bonus made him more attractive as a trade candidate.
After recording a career-high 1,250 receiving yards in 2023, Cooper has struggled along with a Browns offense that has failed to score 20 points in each of its first six games. Cooper leads Cleveland (1-5) with 250 receiving yards and two touchdowns, but his 4.7 yards per target ranks second worst in the NFL among qualifying pass catchers. His three drops are also tied for the sixth most in the league.

"Move or rust," Cooper posted on his Instagram story.
"We appreciate Amari's hard work, professionalism and on-field contributions throughout his two plus seasons with us," Browns general manager Andrew Berry said in a statement. "He created many memorable moments with us and was an integral part of our 2023 playoff team. We wish him the best in Buffalo as he continues his NFL career."
Adding Cooper gives the Bills significant and needed help at receiver. Without Diggs, the team embraced an "everybody eats" mindset with the goal of getting a variety of players involved in the offense at all times, but too often, especially in the past three games, the receivers struggled to get open downfield.
Bills wide receivers rank 25th or worse in targets, receptions, receiving yards and receiving first downs.
"First and foremost, we believe in the receivers that we already have in the room," Bills coach Sean McDermott said. "We'll see when Amari gets here and how we can get him up to speed and get him integrated into what we do and how we do things. It's never about one guy. We're thankful to have him, but it's never about just one guy. It's about the team, so we're anxious to get him on board here and get rolling."
The Bills released wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling on Tuesday to open a roster spot for Cooper.
Cooper, a five-time Pro Bowl selection, has 691 receptions for 9,736 yards and 62 touchdowns in his 11-year career. This is the third time he has been traded in his career. The Raiders traded him to the Cowboys in 2018 and Dallas traded him to the Browns in 2022.

Buffalo Bills Acquire Wide Receiver Amari Cooper From Cleveland Browns
On Tuesday, the Buffalo Bills signed a contract with the Cleveland Browns to bring into the team Amari Cooper in exchange for Josh Allen, a top-tier wide receiver. The contract includes the Bills giving Cleveland a 2025 third round pick and a 7th round pick in 2026, while the Bills also receive Amari Cooper and a 2025 sixth round draft pick. Cooper, who is now 30 years old, is expected to fill the vacuum left after Buffalo traded Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans earlier this season; he will be standing in as the Bills number one receiver. This contract was made possible immediately when the New York Jets, who are AFC East rivals to them, made a trade for Devante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders. Cooper becomes one of the most sought-after from the Browns, who is in the final year of a five-year deal that he formerly signed with the Dallas Cowboys. This is possible because Cleveland turned most of his $20 million salary into a signing bonus. The player had also suffered a lot of challenges this season, and he is yet to reach 20 points in its first six games for Cleveland after he posted a career-high 1,250 receiving yards in 2023. While Cooper has an average of 4.7 yards per target, which happens to be the second lowest among qualifying received in the league, along with three drops tied for the six most in the NFL, he is currently leading the Browns with 250 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The Bills will miss Cooper so much, as he provided the team with much-needed strength at the receiver when he was with them. The Browns are well prepared to make room for Cooper by releasing wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling on Tuesday. Cooper also boasts of 10 season careers with 9,736 yards and 62 touchdowns and 691 catches. This new contract marks the third time that Cooper has been moved from one team to another; he was moved in 2018 by the Raiders to the Cowboys, while Dallas also traded him to the Browns in 2022.
