I think you're so good knowing what his aesthetic taste would be
Thank you so much for asking, this has been rattling around in my brain for so long and I appreciate you so so so much for giving me the opportunity to talk about his cars and watches. I'll start with cars first because hnnng I love them.
Overall, I think his choice in cars would be very refined. He has a nice collection of modern cars and old cars, but I think that his taste is definitely less angular and more soft edges. Someone told him once that the curves of a car are meant to mimic the curves of one's lover and that stuck with him.
1956 Ferrari 250 GT Berlinetta — $9,000,000 — Beautiful curves, the round headlights, the slope to the back, they all drew him in. This is his self-indulgent car, the one he drives to brunch and when he needs to feel better about himself.
1962-4 Ferrari 250 GTO — upwards of $80,000,000 — Kisaki is a Ferrari man (I've decided it) and this is one of the most sought after Ferraris. This car set records for being one of the most expensive cars sold at auction and you can bet your ass it was to him.
1970 Lamborghini Miura P400 S — $1,500,000 — A classic Lamborghini with nice body lines, and I love the idea that he is a little obsessed with the color gold so this one is a no brainer.
2010 Audi R8 V10 — $170,000 — Is it selfish of me to give him one of my favorite cars? Maybe but I am and there's nothing you can do to stop me. He bought it the first day it came out and loves it to death.
2018 Ferrari 812 Superfast — $340,000 — Ferrari man. The body lines, the grill: it reeks of sex appeal. This car actually makes my brain short circuit a bit, and the idea of him getting out of it is too much.
2021 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300 — $4,100,000 — Hot boy shit. Like truly. It's a Bugatti, what more do I need to say? It's hot, it's fast, like my brain is turning to mush.

2018 Maserati GranTurismo — $134,000 — This car is probably one of the least “flashy” in terms of sports cars but it's the one that he uses for everyday tasks or for driving to the airport. You know, just your everyday car that costs as much as a small house.
Mercedes G-Class SUV — $166,000 — They are hot but also every rich person probably has one and he does too. This is how he gets around when he has a driver.
And shout out to any Koenigsegg because he would absolutely have one but I couldn't choose!
As for watches, I think he has a plethora, my personal views probably played into this a lot because I am not the biggest fan of silver, but Kisaki’s style is very timeless so I think that these are all very good options for him.
Breitling Navitimer 1 Automatic 38 — $6,140 — The cream face and gold accents would match pretty much anything and he loves the way that the cluttered lines draw your eye to the bare center.
Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Moon 43mm — $28,900 — The use of the negative space draws in your eyes to the stunning blue of the moonphase, and the gold embellishments really make it pop.
Rolex Sky Dweller 42mm — $57,500 — There had to be at least one Rolex on this list right? The black band and face of the watch have such a nice contrast against his skin. This is probably his go-to for business meetings.
Jaquet Droz Magic Lotus Automation — $210,000 — This beautiful piece is the most special to him because it's the one he wears on dates with you. It's gotten its most uses for Sunday brunches and visits to the Ashikaga Flower Park to see the large wisteria tree.
Breguet Marine Chronograph Mens — $298,000 — The diamonds… this classic silver and black piece is what he always wears to galas and events. It also looks the best when he wipes blood off of it.
Breguet Marie-Antoinette N°1160 — $1,200,000 — I don't think this watch is actually for sale, but I don't care. It's a replica of a watch that was made for Marie Antoinette that was lost to time, but it's super complicated and he would love to have it.

The New 2019 Audi R8: Power and Refinement
Powerful V10 naturally aspirated engines in two output ratings

“Born on the track, built for the road.” This is how Audi is positioning the new R8 following the world premiere of the R8 LMS GT3 at the 2018 Paris Motor Show. Apart from the sportier design, the Audi R8 Coupé and Spyder have more power and better reflexes.
There’s no doubt that the R8 encompass everything from Audi: mid-engine racing sports car heritage, design, capabilities, luxury, and performance.
Visual changes for the 2019-model-year update are subtle but include a redesigned grille with 3D optics for a honeycomb effect and the removal of the aluminum bar that crossed the grille of the old model.
“The R8 occupies a unique position for Audi in every respect,” says Michael-Julius Renz, Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH. “It’s now even more powerful and faster.” adds Oliver Hoffmann, Technical Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH: “Motorsport is part of our DNA. With around 50 percent shared parts with the R8 LMS GT3 and even 60 percent with the R8 LMS GT4, no other automobile is so close to motor racing as the R8.”
The honed character of the new R8 models also becomes clear visually. The Single frame radiator grille has a wider, flatter line. Thick bars divide up the large air inlets. Flat slits in the hood are reminiscent of the Audi Ur-quattro brand icon. The new front splitter is now wider, as is the striking low-set air vent grille at the rear. The grille rounds off the diffuser that extends quite some way up. All of which underlines the sporty look of the Audi R8. In the engine compartment, the air filter is situated under a new three-part cover – available in a choice of plastic or carbon fiber.
You can now choose from up to three exterior packages, depending on the engine variant; these packages add various highlights to the front splitter, the side trims, and the diffuser. As an option, the Audi rings and badges on the exterior are painted in high-gloss black. The new metallic colors Kemora Gray and Ascari Blue add to the paint range. The Audi exclusive range gives customers the opportunity to customize many details of their Audi R8 – inside and out.
The big news mechanically is the changes to the 5.2-litre V10. ECU and other revisions boost the standard R8 from 533bhp to 562bhp, with torque up by 10lb ft to 406lb ft. The Performance, expected to be the biggest seller, takes it a step further again thanks partly to a new titanium valve train, with power rising from the old V10 Plus’s 603bhp to 611bhp and torque by 4lb ft to 417lb ft.
The standard car is now capable of 0-62mph in 3.4sec (3.5sec for the Spider) and the Performance in 3.1sec (3.2sec for the Spider). The power boosts help offset the addition of 20kg worth of emissions-reducing tech to both models to ensure they meet the new WLTP regulation standards.
Depending on the selected engine, the three additional programs dry, wet and snow are added to the well-known Audi drive select modes with the performance mode. They adapt the key dynamic parameters to the friction coefficient of the road. Thanks to the enhanced Electronic Stabilization Control (ESC), the top-of-the-line model brakes from 100 km/h (62.1 mph) to a standstill up to 1.5 meters (4.9 ft) earlier; the stopping distance from 200 km/h (124.3 mph) is up to five meters (16.4 ft) shorter – in each case depending on the exterior conditions.
The new Audi R8 is equipped with factory-installed 19-inch wheels. Ultralight 20-inch fully milled wheels in five-V dynamic design with new summer and sport tires, which convey even more precise handling, are available as an option. Audi offers ceramic brake discs as an alternative to the standard steel discs. The stabilizer at the front is optionally made from carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) and aluminum, which cuts weight by around two kilograms (4.4 lb).
Pricing for the R8 is expected to be similar to that of today’s model. And it is going on sale in the UK early next year.

It looks stunning, it sounds stunning, and it’s got brilliant performance to boot. The Callaway Corvette has long been a fan-favourite in the GT3 class. BMW M8 GTEĪ car famed for its size, the M8 is still surprisingly nimble! Even tearing up the likes of Daytona and Sebring in 2021, it’s still proving more than a match for the fresh-out-the-box entries that Corvette and Ferrari are throwing at it.

Behind that screaming V10 engine you’re still able to find plenty of grip as well as a weight distribution that helps you glide through those pesky mid-speed corners. Not as up-to-date as its more recent counterpart, the 2015-spec Audi R8 isn’t exactly a slouch either. Aston’s GTE offering is the same V8 Vantage as the GT3 but turned up to 11. Aston Martin Vantage GTE 2019Ī car that’s at the pinnacle of GTE racing, a collaboration with the legendary Prodrive that has yielded great success around the world. Definitely as much of a fan favourite here as it is in Assetto Corsa Competizione. This thing loves kerbs, and it has a sense of agility that you usually won’t find in other front-engine GT3 cars. The e-tron GT is Audi’s first fully battery-electric gran turismo. The polished design of this pinnacle performance car veils an awful lot of cutting-edge technology, namely expertise gained from sister brand Porsche and the electric Taycan project. The design, an evolution of the 2018 concept, is largely directed by the electric drive system beneath. The e-tron motors are mounted on the axles, while the large battery sits low in the floor space, which means, despite the car’s super-low coupé body form, the cabin space is large enough to sit four adults comfortably. Since there is no combustion engine under the hood, the front section is pushed forward, the large wheels sit at the far edges of the car and the overhangs are kept minimal for a subtle expression of electric power.
It is largely with the details where Audi wishes to make an electric statement with the e-tron cars. The marque’s signifying “Singleframe” grille features here, but modified to be relevant for an electric car that doesn’t require much engine cooling. Instead, it houses the sensors and is visually inverted to be the same color as the car but with a dark surround. The exterior is finished with advanced digital lights, while the taillights are linked by an animated light strip.
2021 Audi e-tron GT
The e-tron GT is being produced at Böllinger Höfe, a small-series production facility at the Audi’s Neckarsulm site in Germany – where the R8 is made – expanded, upgraded and converted specifically to be mainly automated. And for the final touch, the e-tron GT comes replete with its own engine note – a computer-designed sound with characteristics that can be adjusted to signify a clean drive.
I get on a video call to Ingolstadt, the home of Audi, to virtually meet up with Marc Lichte, head of Audi design since 2014.
Nargess Banks: What is Audi’s electric car design philosophy – your approach to visualizing battery electric cars?
Marc Lichte: As you know the car industry is going through a huge transformation. Electric car companies are doing a great job, but unlike us they don’t have a long history of car making. Some of the other carmakers, on the other hand, are adding what I see as bizarre elements to say their cars are EVs. Our philosophy is exactly the opposite. The electric drive system allows us to create the most beautiful cars in our history – be it the e-tron GT or the upcoming Q4 e-tron. Our approach is to use technology to create the most attractive cars.

It’s interesting to see that you’ve retained many of the classic Audi codes, namely the unique Singleframe grille, which now has other functions and a new expression.
The Audi grille is one of the key areas to help differentiate the combustion engine and electric cars. The unique Singleframe design has given us such a strong face since it was introduced in 2004. On the GT we introduce it as an inverted design. Since with electric drive the grille is no longer used purely as an air intake, but rather a sensor rack, we have painted the internal part body color and the outside black. It is a detail that you will see in our future e-tron cars to distinguish our battery-electric family.
You say you are using design to express the evolution of the drive system.
Battery range is a huge topic with electric cars. Some car companies put bigger batteries in the car, but that adds weight. Our approach is to work on sophisticated aerodynamics, which we’re using as our design principle and is best expressed on the e-tron GT. We visualize the air curtains, and we have a huge diffuser at the back, so the GT has one of the best aerodynamics in series production cars.
Audi’s visual identity for the GT
User experience is increasingly driving design, and you’ve spoken passionately about designing cars from the inside out. How do you direct a uniquely different user journey for electric driving?
You’re absolutely right in that for the last 100 years we’ve been designing cars from the exterior in – created a package and decided if it would have two or four or six seats. This car, though, has been designed from the inside-out. It is an extreme sports car and a modern interpretation of a GT but with four doors and it is real four-seater. I am very tall and have enough head clearance in the rear. This is all thanks to the battery-electric drive and the Porsche platform it has been built on.
Can you go through the design process?
Without a combustion engine, you can have a super low bonnet and a very slim and low cabin that sits on a wide body. The battery pack is located on the floor, but rather than being on a straight line, it is placed on different height levels so at the rear passenger area it dips to have extra room for the foot area. This package, therefore, enables a real functional but attractive car with the usability of a four-seater. Only the Porsche Taycan offers this.
Audi’s design philosophy for the e-tron GT
With the idea of premium and luxury advancing to offer alternatives to the traditional codes in car design, it is nice to see the GT offered with a sustainable interior package.
We are a premium brand; our customers expect leather, but their attitude is changing. So, for the first time, we’re offering an interior with carpets and seats made of recycled plastic bottles and recycled fabrics from our cars. It looks super attractive and sophisticated too. In my opinion, it represents the new premium. And we will offer this option on all-out future e-tron cars.

Yes. Currently, I’m working on a very exciting project – that I cannot sadly discuss with you – which has a radical new approach to design. That is the future.
Talking of the future, we are going through some extraordinary times. The pandemic aside, we are navigating the anxieties and opportunities of machine learning and the information age. Is it important to offer a more “human” experience in transport as we head deep into the AI future?
The Audi e-tron GT will go on sale from May 2021
AI is an enabler for us. Going back to the project I can’t talk about right now – but will be on the market in less than four years’ time – it’s based on a technology that will allow the car to be autonomous. It changes everything. Until now, the driver simply has had to sit in the driving position. But with AI, it completely changes the possibilities of the interior. I wish I could show you what we’re working on – it’s unbelievable what can be achieved.
Can you discuss it conceptually?
Imagine, today you sit in the driving position with everything operational by touch or voice. When the car drives by itself, you can relax and move in the interior. So how do you operate the car when you’re not in a fixed position? And what about safety when you’re not in a fixed seating area with airbags? We are working on all these elements which will change the car completely.
What is your favorite element of the e-tron GT?
The Quattro is in our DNA and we visualize it on our exterior design on the four wheels. The GT takes this expression to a new level where the muscles are so extreme – especially on the rear – a huge engineering challenge. This section took us three months to develop. It is the biggest muscle we have ever done at Audi and it looks unbelievable.
As a designer, this must have been a dream assignment.
Honestly, this car is a dream project. It has taken me twenty years as a professional designer, but it has finally happened.

Audi A7 Essential History
If German naming conventions have you all twisted-up, understanding the Audi A7 is simple. Think of the A7 simply as a more elegant, stylish Audi A6, incorporating most (if not all) the A6's powertrain options and interior design. Make sense? We hope so, considering you've had eight model years to figure the A7 out. Launched globally in late 2010, Audi's swoopiest four-door didn't make it to the States until the 2012 model year, filling a Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class-sized gap in the automaker's lineup.

Initially, Audi's ubiquitous 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 served as the only source of motivation, with 310 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque routed to the Quattro all-wheel-drive system via an eight-speed automatic transmission. Soon after, the nerd-tastic 3.0-liter turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel V-6 hit our shores, now offering 240 hp and a thick 428 lb-ft of torque through the same eight-speed automatic.
With a 0-60-mph run tested somewhere in the low five-second range and a top speed of 155 mph, the bog-standard A7 was hardly a slug, but the later S7 added an extra dollop of speed and performance onto the platform. As the A7 is to the A6, the S7 is essentially a rebodied S6 of the same generation, incorporating the S6's excellent 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 and slick seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. A total of 420 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque are on tap, returning a 0-60-mph run in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. Model year 2016 saw updates across the board, with the A7 upgraded to 333 hp and the S7 to 450 hp. Along with extra power, the S7 also added upgraded suspension, brakes, tires, wheels, and interior components over the regular A7.
Still not enough? The mighty RS7 is one of the most potent of all Audi four-doors, boosting the S7's 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 to 560 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The RS7's 0-60-mph dash takes just 3.7 seconds, while upgraded brakes—and optional carbon ceramics—and revisions to both chassis and aero improve braking and handling. Finally, for the truly power-mad (and wealthy), Audi's 2017 updates brought the debut of the RS7 Performance model, rated for 605 hp and 553 lb-ft and capable of 0-60-mph times in the low three-second range.
Second-Generation Audi A7
The second generation of A7 arrived for the 2019 model year, and landed with the newest variant of Volkswagen/Audi's MLBevo platform, a new turbocharged V-6 engine, and a 48-volt mild hybrid system. Stick with the A7, and you'll get a 3.0-liter that puts out 335 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque through all four wheels and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 0-60-mph dash takes 5.2 seconds, and top speed is limited to 130 mph.
By now, you should know how this goes. The second-gen S7 wasn't long behind the new A7, upping the ante with the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V-6 pulled from the current RS5. This means 444 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic, cutting the 0-60-mph sprint time to 4.5 seconds, but keeping the top speed limited to 155 mph. Scarier still is the new RS7, packing an updated 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 with 591 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque that allows for a 0-60-mph scuttle in 3.5 seconds. Not convinced? Audi A7 Highlights
The effortlessly handsome Audi A7 wasn't the first fastback sedan, but it was one of the cars that established the segment alongside the groundbreaking Mercedes-Benz CLS, and the A7 remains a staple of Audi's lineup. The A7—and subsequent high-performance variants—aren't at the top of the Audi dogpile in either price or size, but the A7 family possesses some of the strongest aspirational pull and consumer recognition. For many, the RS7 is about as good as a modern four-door can get, both aesthetically and dynamically, and we can't say there isn't a kernel of truth in this. Better yet, even if you don't make the jump to the S7 or RS7, the regular bog-standard A7 is still one of the most luxurious and beautifully packaged vehicles on sale today.
Audi A7 Buying Tips
Figuring out which member of the A7 family to buy breaks down to what you want out of your style-forward German luxury car. If you're in the market for a reliable, trouble-free daily driver, go with a new A/S/RS7; there's little point pumping endless dollars into a second-hand A7 unless you're already a die-hard Audi enthusiast.
If you're OK with driving a used S7 or RS7 as a second or third car for long distance trips or medium-distance use around town, look for a strong maintenance record. If you can't find a good one or maybe can't afford one of the cleaner ones, we say keep walking—this is a case of pay now or pay big later.
When you do find a nice pre-owned example, have it checked out by a local Audi dealer or independent specialist to make sure there isn't anything insidious hiding under those sumptuous bodylines. If there are issues, you shouldn't have any trouble finding parts, however expensive they may be; Audi still provides factory support for A7s both old and new.

Extremely limited-edition Audi R8 V10 Plus Competition Package

The 2018 Audi R8 V10 Plus Coupe Competition boasts an array of upgrades that should make it even faster on a racetrack. Audi claims it’s the most performance-oriented R8 production model ever.
The changes are subtle but significant. Titanium backing plates for the R8’s carbon-ceramic brakes shave 2.2 pounds off its curb weight. New 20-inch alloy wheels — similar to the ones used on the R8 GT4 race car — cut an additional 26.4 pounds.
The R8 V10 Plus Competition also gets a carbon fiber aero kit that significantly increases downforce, according to Audi. Downforce is airflow that pushes the car onto the road or track surface at high speeds, increasing grip and allowing the driver to go faster. At 150 kph (93.2 mph), Audi claims the Competition model generates 114.6 pounds of downforce, or twice the amount of the base R8 V10 Plus.
The downforce-generating spoilers also add aerodynamic drag, which slows the car down. While the base R8 V10 Plus has a drag coefficient of 0.36, the Competition’s aero kit increases that to 0.42. That creates a corresponding decrease in top speed: from 204 mph to 196 mph. But at that 196-mph top speed, the Competition still generates more downforce than the base R8 V10 Plus. Audi traded ultimate velocity for more precise handling and stability in this case.
No changes were made to the powertrain, so the 5.2-liter V10 still produces 602 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque. That power is fed to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Competition does get model-specific three-way adjustable coilover suspension, though.
All 10 Audi R8 V10 Plus Competition models are painted Suzuka Gray on the outside, with a mostly black interior. Seats are black racing shells with red contrast stitching. An Alcantara steering wheel with red 12:00 marker and carbon fiber shift paddles add more touches of sportiness. If the driver gets sick of listening to the V10 engine’s wail, a 13-speaker, 550-watt Bang & Olufsen sound system can provide some tunes.
Suggested retail price: $237,350. A $43,000 increase but due to its limited availability, actual sale prices will be much higher.
