HBO Max New Releases: September 2021

The summer movie season may be winding down, but HBO Max is keeping the movie ball rolling in September 2021. HBO Max’s list of new releases this month is heavy on the film side of things – both in library and original offerings.

Two Warner Bros. films of note arrive this month. The James Wan-directed horror tale Malignant premieres on Sept. 10 and is followed by Clint Eastwood’s Cry Macho on Sept. 17. The next installment in Adventure Time: Distant Lands (which is kind of like a film series!) is titled Wizard City and opens the month on Sept. 2

Of course, it wouldn’t be a new month of HBO Max releases without some interesting evergreen Warner movie titles. Sept. 1 finds all eight Harry Potter movies returning to WarnerMedia’s streaming service. They will be accompanied by The Goonies, The Evil Dead, Cloverfield, and more. Later on in the month, Mortal Kombat (Sept. 9), Mad Max: Fury Road (Sept. 9), and Promising Young Woman (Sept. 25) all come back to the streaming world.

On the TV side of things, HBO Max is bringing back DC’s strangest heroes for season 3 of Doom Patrol on Sept. 23. And for those who need their true crime fix, The Way Down should fit the bill. This docuseries about a weight loss cult is timely for reasons you’ll definitely want to Google.

『Osaka LOVER』 Good evening everyone. The joy of being able to do things I love is linked tightly to my motivation Yet I also wanna try challenging myself to do things I am not particularly good at. It’s very warm at a place where the sun shines strongly. Let's try converting this heat into positive and warm energy! How is everyone doing? The other day I mentioned that we would hold our first Official Fan Club "Harmony" events in Osaka On September 8th: Kalafina “Harmony” ～Premium LIVE vol.1～@Billboard Osaka On September 9th: Kalafina “Harmony” ～Talk EVENT vol.1～@NHK Osaka Hall Everyone who came to see us, thank you! Everyone who shared their feelings with us, thank you! We still have a Premium LIVE in Tokyo coming up so I cannot share any details ... Being able to sing these songs in this particular environment, it was only possible at this LIVE…I can’t say more *laughs* In this special time we were able to come face to face with all of you and managed to convey what we wanted to convey! Some part here, another part there, certain aspects of our music could only be created because all of you were there with us. Also, for this live, there was a meal included! Here’s the Osaka limited drink "Alleluia" which already made an appearance in Keiko-san’s toast picture from the other day. We wanted it to have a warm gradating colour, the taste is a mix between sweet and sour, the freshness of lemon and ginger combined with the sweetness of plums. Of course you got the option to choose between alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Now here’s a picture of the Osaka Limited meal. Huge amounts of roast beef, three types of bruschetta, truffle scented French fries. Three types of bruschetta!! Amazing! We also got to enjoy this yummy meal after our live ♪ Regarding our Talk EVENT! We finally got to talk properly with you. We had a packed schedule! (*´꒳`*) ◆ Kalafina History footage While looking back at our past and the progress we have made we also talked about what we felt at that time. I kept wondering when all of our fans first came across Kalafina while we were watching that video together (^-^) ◆ Harmony Magazine Solo Corners: Footage of our personal experiences The solo corners of our magazine ... We showed you super secret footage of each of us visiting a location together with one of the other members in order to experience something very personal with them. *laughs* Everyone's reaction was great *wry laughter* [As you may remember from one of my previous posts, Hikaru joined Keiko at the kickboxing gym, Keiko joined Wakana at the aquarium, Wakana joined Hikaru during a manga reading session] ◆ A cappella performances of summer themed songs which you requested In advance, we invited fans to choose a summer themed song you wanted Kalafina to perform... From all the songs that were suggested, we picked three and performed a few verses a cappella on stage. The part where we talked about your reasons for choosing those particular songs was also very interesting and left a lasting impression! ◆ Replying to everyone’s questions! We invited fans to send in questions for Kalafina in advance ♪ Questions for each of us individually as well as questions for all three of us, we answered as many questions as possible within this limited time period. As for the questions we couldn’t answer, we shall try to reply to them on this blog at a later date (^-^) ◆ Rock-paper-scissors showdown: Audience VS Kalafina’s strongest player a.k.a. me Hehe! I was picked ! ＼＼\٩(���`^´๑)۶//／／ For our regular radio program 「Kalafina Club」 we always decide who is gonna host the episode by playing a round of rock-paper-scissors. My winning percentage is the highest among the three of us so I was chosen to compete against the audience! ◆ Getting to the bottom of our music (all in all we analysed 5 songs individually and as a group) We tried to delve into the meaning of Kalafina’s songs by reading out the lyrics and discussing them. I was very nervous to stand in front of you all by myself and read the lyrics out loud. However, it was very refreshing to listen to the other members reciting their lyrics! While reading out the lyrics of the final song, we ended up breaking into song ♪ I felt like the transition from reading to singing happened very easily. This alone wasn’t enough though, until the very last moment we wanted to connect with you so we decided to see you off at the end. I was very happy I was able to make eye contact with you so I could convey my gratitude to you. I feel like having been able to do this event has made our bond stronger, “Harmony” and many more “+ONEs” were created among us. For our first talk event there were just too many things we wanted to do and even though our program was cram-packed, the time went by in the blink of an eye. Whenever happy times like this are over, a feeling of loneliness is creeping up on me, but having been able to spend this time together with all of you has empowered me and provided a lot of strength for the future! Filled with all this energy Kalafina got to hold a special release event for 『Hyakka Ryouran』 in Tokyo today where we were able to meet selected fans who bought our single! Everyone who came to see us, thank you! Everyone who shared their feelings with us, thank you! Tanto en las radios de rock como las de otros formatos, los hits de ELO continúan calando en la cultura pop. En 2017, "Livin' Thing" apareció en un importante anuncio de Volkswagen, mientras "Mr. Blue Sky" puso música a una escena fundamental en el éxito de taquilla de Marvel Studios, Los guardianes de la galaxia Vol. 2.

Formada en Birmingham, Inglaterra, en 1970, ELO fue diseñada para crear música pop moderna progresiva combinando elementos de rock y música clásica. Lynne siempre ha sido la fuerza impulsora y guía detrás de ELO, escribiendo prácticamente la totalidad del material original del grupo a la vez que producía los álbumes.

Desde 1972 hasta 1986, la época dorada en la que grabaron y ofrecieron giras, ELO acumuló más hits Top 40 en Reino Unido y EEUU juntos que cualquier otra banda en el planeta entero, llegando a vender más de 50 millones de discos a nivel mundial. Durante este mismo periodo, ELO sumó veinte singles Top 20 en la lista de Singles de Reino Unido y quince canciones en el Top 20 en la Lista Hot 100 de Billboard.  

ELO pasó a formar parte del Hall de la Fama del Rock & Roll el 7 de abril de 2017.

El próximo viernes 27 de julio a las 9 pm, se estrenará un nuevo concierto documental titulado "Jeff Lynne's ELO: Wembley or Bust" en la cadena SHOWTIME de Estados Unidos, que también estará disponible a demanda y a través de internet. En esta celebración del legado musical continuo y perecedero de ELO, el director Paul Dugdale documenta la actuación sold-out de ELO en el famoso Estadio Wembley de Londres para un público de 60.000 personas en 2017.

El 3 de agosto de 2018, Legacy Recordings publicará —por primera vez en vinilo 12”—Secret Messages, el décimo álbum de estudio de Electric Light Orchestra, que se publicó por primera vez en CD en 1983. La edición 35º aniversario de Secret Messages, disponible en una edición de 2 LP de 12” y 150 gram, presenta la “creación ecléctica” de Jeff Lynne como “se concibió originalmente” con seis canciones inéditas, “todas ellas, con un innovador sonido de sintetizadores al igual que un evidente dominio de la guitarra”, que finalmente son recuperadas en la obra maestra de ELO.
