Edmond, Rene, and Cedric info (TWST OCs) + some visuals 🤪

Small Information If You Don’t Know Them:

Edmond Pierre (3rd year), Rene Pierre (1st year), and Cedric Etoile (2nd year) are Twisted Wonderland OCs based of Disney’s 1950s Cinderella. Edmond Pierre is based off of Drizella, Rene Pierre is based off of Anastasia, and Cedric Etoile is based of off Cinderella.

Information About Them Currently:

In NRC, Edmond and Rene are both sorted into Pomefiore’s dormitory, meaning that they’re literally togther often but that doesn’t mean they get along. They are always seen either bickering or messing with eachother since well.. They are brothers.

Their arguements can get quite loud and annoying with leads Vil to shut them up and punishing them. Sometimes Vil has to keep an eye on them so they won’t get too rowdy over petty topics like which color the fabric is (although none of them knows anything about fabrics because it’s just Edmond wanting to impress Vil and Rene is there to sabotage him.)

Although it may seem like they’re always together, they also interact with other students:

Rene often talks to Epel since they are in the same grade and in the same dorm. They share some similar interests like going against things about them like how Epel dislikes being pictured as a weak and meek dude when he actually can stand his ground, and Rene hates the expectations of his mother and being restricted.

Edmond and Rene both find Rook strange. However, Edmond admires Rook’s ability to make such poetic statements about others or about anything.

Edmond and Rene respect Vil a lot since he is the dormleader of Pomefiore. Also he’s the one who stops their petty fighting and puts them in the time-out corner.

Octavinelle is dead.

Edmond is in the same club as Riddle and finds him a promising underclassman. But Riddle thinks Edmond is a bit… like Ace and Deuce. Edmond doesn’t know that so he’s living in his delusion (lol.)

Edmond, during school, loves to act like he is proper and above people like he’s a prince. He also doesn’t like getting his hands dirty in fights so he avoids them. Basically, he thinks he’s a pretty princess who cannot be harmed. So far, he hasn’t totally beaten up. Just a little roughed up. From the tweels.

Rene, on the other hand, depends. I mean, he doesn’t like people bothering him but if a physical or magical fight can get him out of NRC, he’ll do his best. But usually, Rene is a good student. He doesn’t really bother people unless it’s his brother.

Academics for Edmond is hard. He’s pretty good in P.E. but he struggles with studying for academic tests. He’s grades are pretty low as Rene is doing well, but he’s only doing well if him getting out of NRC doesn’t work out.

SInce there isn’t much about RSA, Cedric’s school life may be short.

Cedric’s grades are average. He’s not perfect but he is passing since his test scores are impressive. He seems to do better in tests rather than other assignments. It may be because he works better with pressure, or he managed to study most of the subjects the night before the tests.

During school, Cedric is a good student, always helping out and assisting others whenever he can which is why some of his assignments get low grades. He also works out often now so picking up heavy things are easier for him.

He oftens hangs around Neige and they’re good friends. (Other interactions may come soon.)

Information About Their Past:

Back in their childhood and they were mostly raised by the Pierre brothers’ mother (Cedric’s stepmother), Cedric did all the chores and was left mostly alone. He was treated horribly by his step-mother and he was forced to be homeschooled and hidden away from others outside of the family.

Before all of this, Cedric used to live with his father but then his father died due to a heart attack right after he got remarried. Since Cedric’s mother died during birth, his stepmother was the only adult to take him in as his mother figure. She had also taken in his father’s popular boutique business in the City of Flowers, inheriting all of the money. Soon, she was consuming and thriving in the rich life as she hid Cedric from everybody.

Despite his step-mother being cruel, his step-brothers weren’t so. They still played with Cedric even when their mother told them not to or pulled them away. She tried to isolate Cedric as much as she could.

Because of that, Edmond as accepted it as Rene thought it was stupid. (But they still interacted with Cedric because THEY’RE BASICALLY BROTHERS.)

Cedric’s scar happened because of an accident.

After Cedric’s stepmother forced everything onto Cedric, Edmond felt upset that Cedric was doing more than him when he was the oldest. So he tried to cook all by himself but Cedric said it was too dangerous for him since he was inexperienced. Edmond was cutting some vegetables angrily until Cedric tried to pull the knife away from his hands and caused a tug of war.

With a slip of a hand, Edmond accidentally made a deep cut into Cedric’s cheek.

Edmond felt so guilty and helped Cedric clean up the blood and patched it up for him. Til this day, he looks at the scar with slight guilt.

this is on hs right now. days ago, there was a similar tag with the first lacoste ad. and it is coming up again because of his lacoste challenge. tho most of it is praise, of course, as things with someone like yibo goes, there will be haters. aside from the usual people who can’t handle how he is living his best life: just finished a highly rated tv drama, a movie to be released may 1st, a new endorsement scheduled to be announced, an international campaign etc. but there is also the side of how some people view a person’s ability to speak english as a sign of absolute intelligence.

p1 shows the reaction i would say of international fans too cause we found it endearing and cute. it’s nothing serious. you can even hear the people in that video cheering for him by the end of it. p2 are the toxic shits who are gagging to find something negative to stick to yibo. i doubt people commenting could even carry a proper conversation in english. or they do and feel superior about themselves — which is tragic. some even boasting about their ielts score lol. i’m dying. ielts is a dumb exam. i’m sorry but it is. you can’t tell me otherwise. and like, it was supposed to be a fun challenge. but i guess most c-netizen’s lives are so sad that they have to make everything a test.

Bakugou becoming a hero of The Hero Public Safety Commission? This idea is interesting, tell me how you planned it and how it will happen? Do you also mind if I take inspiration from this idea, for what Bakugou's fate will be like in my AU?

This is sort of a rough outline that I have:

- Katsuki either doesn’t make it to U.A due to scoring 0 hero points or gets expelled during the Quirk Apprehension Test/1st Battle Trial

- As U.A’s test scores are public and the HPSC is a government organization that could access it even if it weren’t, they see Katsuki’s brawn and decide he’d make for a good member of their organization

- Katsuki isn’t seen again until after the Stain Arc. During this time he’s been training with the HPSC. Stain’s message shakes them and they start sending Katuski out on missions, despite the fact he’s only been in training for a few months.

- His first missions are pretty basic, just beating up villains that the HPSC have had their eyes on.

- Katsuki quickly becomes famous due to his young age. However, U.A quickly steals his spotlight due to the Summer Camp Arc (either Shoto or Fumikage’s kidnapped in his place). He’s crestfallen about All Might’s retirement but declares he’s going to be the #1 hero.

- Eventually, Katsuki encounters Hawks, who gives him a cryptic message about the corruption of the HPSC. Katsuki being himself outwardly scoffs at the idea, but the seed’s been planted. 

- During one of his missions, Katsuki unintentionally saves someone. The person, a child, thanks him. Katsuki uses this time to gloat about him being a great hero, but takes in the good feeling that comes with saving someone.

- Later, the HPSC has Hawks and Katsuki go after a tough villain. Seeing as Katsuki hates working as a team, the mission goes pretty terribly. The villain is defeated, but several lives were lost. Hawks admonishes Katsuki, points out how many people were killed because he refused to follow orders, and tells him that with the way he’s going, he’s only going to be the HPSC’s lap dog rather than an actual hero. All of this shakes Katsuki. When the HPSC talks to him, they praise him and tell him he did a good job. Katsuki brings up the fact people died and the HPSC says that lives lost aren’t important as long as the threat is stopped. With Hawks breaking his worldview and the HPSC affirming it, Katsuki has conflicting views on this now. Confused, he thinks back to Izuku, wonders what he’d do, only to cringe at the fact he was thinking about Izuku for advice. Still, this kickstarts him reflecting about Izuku.

- Soon the HPSC starts sending him out on more missions, except instead of capturing bad guys, now he’s moved on to taking on journalists, protestors, and/or anyone else that might be a threat to hero society.

- Though he has bursts of fame, even having his own merch, he still believes he’s being overshadowed by Izuku and the rest of 1-A as they’re constantly on the news.

- In terms of his missions, Katsuki doesn’t particularly mind completing them seeing as the HPSC frames these people as being a threat to hero society. However, after every mission, Hawks tells Katsuki a bit about each person. One person organized several peaceful protests for the removal of mutant discrimination. One was about to expose a hero for abuse. So on and so forth. Katsuki eventually ask him why he’s constantly telling him about all these people and Hawks asks him if the good guys would arrest people who haven’t committed any crimes. Katsuki brings up what the HPSC says about them being a threat to hero society and Hawks then asks him how these people are threats and that even though they aren’t pro heroes, they’re more of a hero than he is. This causes Katsuki to pause and remember Izuku once more.

- Eventually, Katsuki is ordered to go and find a journalist. This time, the mission is completely different. This time he has to kill the journalist. Despite that incident from earlier where his recklessness caused the deaths of several people, Katsuki’s never taken a life before, and has never taken one directly. He still accepts the mission.

- Before leaving, Hawks gives him one last cryptic warning about what happens if he keeps going down the path he’s going.

- Although hesitant, Katsuki goes to complete the mission. When he finds the journalist, the man immediately can tell Katsuki’s here to kill him. He blurts out that he’s been investigating Endeavor for a while now, that the man has committed several crimes, and goes over the whole Todoroki family backstory. He asks Katsuki if such a guy deserves to be a hero and that if he kills him, he’d only be defending a villain. Before Katuski could respond, a child comes down and wonders what’s going on. Katsuki’s eyes widen when he notices that the child is wearing his merch. The child remembers him as the hero who saved them and gets excited. The journalist shoos away their child and tells Katsuki if he’s going to kill him, then to not do it in front of their child.

- Katsuki suddenly gets numerous flashbacks of All Might, Izuku, and Hawks telling him what it means to be a hero. He tells the journalist to take his family ‘far away’ and he’ll help him fake his death.

- The journalist is surprised, thanks Katsuki, and takes all his valuables. Katsuki then blows up the house, returns to the HPSC, and tells him the mission’s been done. Unknown to him, Hawks was sent to follow him and make sure that the mission was complete. The HPSC praises him, but it makes him feel sick. When Katuski leaves, they ask Hawks if he completed the mission. Hawks lies and says he did.

- Hawks encounters Katsuki one more time and praises him for helping the journalist. This time, Katsuki feels good about being praised.

- A few days later, the War Arc happens. Katsuki is sent to help out U.A.

- Katsuki encounters Izuku, who’s surprised to see him here. Katsuki on the other hand remembers how he treated Izuku, and too scared to confront him, leaves to fight some bad guys.

- Things eventually get to the point where Tomura’s about to skewer Izuku. Katsuki rushes to save him. The whole ‘my body moved on its own’ scene plays out, but this time, Katsuki admonishes himself for being a coward and not apologizing to Izuku earlier and thanks Izuku for helping him realize what it means to be a hero.

- Upon waking up in the hospital, he notices Izuku sitting next to him. Katsuki, groggy, asks Izuku what happened. Izuku mentions that Katsuki saved him. Memories start flooding back, a brief flashback occurs, going from when he bullied Izuku when Izuku was trying to help another kid all the way to when he saved Izuku. Katsuki sobs, startling Izuku. Every traumatic moment from his time with the HPSC catches up to him. Izuku comforts him despite not really understanding why he’s crying. Katsuki then surprises Izuku with an apology, and not an ‘I’m sorry for everything’ kind. He tosses his ego aside and tells Izuku that he’s sorry for the bullying, beatings, and the name calling. He’s sorry for picking on him for being quirkless because even when he was quirkless he was more of a hero than Katsuki ever was. He tells Izuku that he was right when it came to what it means to be a hero and how utterly wrong he was. Izuku’s surprised, with tears in his eyes. He tells Katsuki that he’s really changed, that he’s now a true hero, and that he forgives Katsuki.

- Some of 1-A (the DekuSquad and the BakuSquad) come inside to meet Katsuki, having heard Izuku praise him and are now interested in meeting him.

- Later, Katsuki receives word that the HPSC’s been assassinated and several of their coverups have been uncovered. Katsuki wonders what should he do now. He has a hero license from them, but is too young to start his own hero agency. Nezu invites him to U.A for his heroic performance.

- Katsuki accepts before proudly declaring he’s going to be the best hero ever and that Izuku better watch out. However, instead of his typical arrogant tone, it’s clear that Katsuki wants to improve himself and sees Izuku as a benchmark for the kind of hero he wants to become.

- He also finds out that the journalist he helped ended up leaking all the info he had on Endeavor, confirming Dabi’s story. Katsuki is glad he’s safe and that he won’t be hunted again due to the HPSC collapsing and being exposed themselves.

This is pretty much the basis of how I’d write Katsuki if I was Hori. Hope y’all enjoyed it and let me know what you think 😊.

Against the flow…

A few days ago, an unexpected tweet was posted informing those who cared that Tim and Armie had been seen together in a restaurant in Los Angeles, then running on the beach, walking a dog. They were sweet and tender towards each other, and in another tweet we learn that they kissed…

The reactions challenged me and I wanted to transcribe my feelings on the subject. As usual, this is my opinion and mine only:

I read that this tweet would be a fake because the account is recent, there is no photo, no proof of what the author of the post advances on Armie and Tim, he refuses to answer in private, etc…

For me, first and foremost, any positive information is beneficial. I’d rather read that they've been seen to be kind to each other than read that Tim hates Armie and of course they make sure they're not in LA at the same time.

My question is rather: why post something so nice, sweet and beautiful (see the other tweets)? Usually nice posts are those written by us in the fandom. Unless :

1st hypothesis: an anti who wants to force them out so that their careers suffer? An anti is capable of anything except speaking well of Armie or the Armie/Tim couple, even if it is to get at Armie. And he wouldn't go after Tim. From what I have read so far, the antis do not shine with their finesse. As for forcing them out…how? I don't see them being forced because of this post. It is enough that they do not react.

2nd hypothesis: To make us run, and to ridicule us the charmies... It seems to me that it is completely useless for a very short effect. It's a lot of ado about nothing.

3rd hypothesis: someone looking for celebrity to launch their account? There are other actors who would be better carriers with a larger fanbase. And the author still only has 34 followers at this time.

4th hypothesis: He actually saw 2 men in love, famous, ok, and he wanted to share it without thinking of harm because they were in a restaurant or on a beach, in public and without hiding it, because he found it beautiful, because love is love. Excuse me, but that's what most of us do every day: talk about their love and we didn't ask them for permission to do it either.... Maybe we should invite him to join us in the fandom.

5th hypothesis: it is a sounding balloon… a test to judge reactions. No, I am not completely naive or crazy, but I do not rule out this possibility. There are many things happening behind the scenes that we know little or nothing about. We are the strongest to analyze, dissect all the signs we receive. And we know that they are very intelligent and clever in addition, of course to being madly in love. So why wouldn't it be another sign? On a large scale? With multiple gains if the reactions are positive: Live their love story out in the open, official and unconditional support for Armie, 1st official A lister couple of the same sex in Hollywood, pulling the rug from under the feet of an ex-wife who has sworn to exterminate the father of her children, depriving her of her last weapon, the threat to denounce them...

I keep the 4th and 5th hypothesis, it’s my conviction and they complete each other

This tweet made 45.7k views in 4 days… for 50 likes, 7 retweets, 46 quotes, mostly negative and nauseating.

But that's only 46 quotes out of 46k views!!!

Either 0.1% of negative reactions ok but which means that conversely it is more than 99% of people who adhere or who do not care.

Reading Throne of Glass (16-18)

Princess Nehemia has arrived at the glass castle. She and Celaena clicked instantly.

The king departed on a secret voyage.

Kaltain Rompier remains pretty and rich as fuck.

One of the competitors died a mysterious and gruesome death.

The competition to find a Champion for the King finally started. Celaena might have found an ally in Nox Owen.

Chapter 16

Celaena and Chaol are having an early morning jog.

Celaena tells us Chaol is jogging and sweating lightly in a white shirt because she knows I'll eat it up. And I did.

Celaena throws up a lot. Like I get it's a physical reaction. But...vomiting hurts. The intense muscle cramps, the acid in your throat, it hurts. Vomiting like this everyday should and would damage her body.

2 weeks since Endovier. 10 days since arrival in the capital. 3 days since the 1st Test. Less than 1 month total. 4 days til the next elimination. Keeping score cause sjm timelines are hilarious.

Everything Chaol does is amazing.

Nevermind, as all men do, he immediately did something to show me I was wrong lol. Humbled and humiliated as I should be.

He sucked on his lower lip for a moment. “When did you get those?” She knew he meant the three enormous lines that ran down her back. “When do you think?” she said. He didn’t reply, (...) “Those three, I received my first day in Endovier.” “What did you do to deserve it?”

What if I jump through the page and curb stomp him

She stared at him without entirely seeing him as the ash-gray sky turned into the bleakness of Endovier, and the hiss of the wind became the sighing of slaves. No, it's actually so devastating, what happened to sjm?? This is such good writing.

The next day at practice, one of the competitors tries to run. Got killed instantly by the guards. So at least the castle security aren't chumps.

Again Celaena makes it clear that her escape attempt at Endovier was a suicide attempt. During her chat with Chaol the previous day would have been a better time to first reveal this. They also talk about a woman in the mines who was raped and murdered. Chaol asks if anyone tried to hurt Celaena in the same way

She says she would have killed anyone that tried. But a part of her wonders if Arobynn had paid for her "safety"

I think revealing the escape attempt was actually a suicide attempt would have tied all this together better:

Celaena sees what happened to that woman, she thinks about why no one has come for her yet and realises 2 things: 1) they eventually will come for her, maybe not a slave but a high up guard even and 2) if it is Arobynn keeping her "safe" it's not because he cares about her life but about her body

And then when she snaps, all of this leads her to the attempted suicide.

Dying—rather than playing in the king’s game—was the only choice left to him.

Chapter 17

Dorian himself is a rebel who told his father to his face that he doesn't want to rule conquered kingdoms but we're supposed to believe he's suspicious of Nehemia because she's rumoured to side with the rebels and wanted to shut down a labour camp??

Dorian agrees with the second bit not because it's slave labour but because he saw "the horrors Endovier inflicted on Celaena Sardothien's body" ????

Celaena hates the kingdom of Ardalan and it's king because he is actively committing genocide but she's glad the people of the White Fang Mountains were oppressed to the point the women and children took their own lives rather than be captured... The idea that Dorian is dissatisfied and feels trapped by his position in life could and should have been conveyed better than that.

Some nobles started dancing, weaving in and out among each other. Many were his age, but he somehow felt as if there existed a vast distance between them. He didn’t feel older, nor did he feel any wiser, but rather he felt . . . He felt . . . He felt as if there were something inside him that didn’t fit in with their merriment, with their willing ignorance of the world outside the castle. It went beyond his title.

I hate when authors write nobles or royals who are so surprised and offended at the idea of marriages arranged for power or the producing of heirs. Be serious for a moment, I'm begging you, you are making your character look insane.

Especially since it seems like Dorian has slept with many of these women before. He feels they are good enough to fuck but they aren't good enough to be his wife?? As if they themselves aren't nobles?? Jail.

This immediately makes him look like not just a misogynistic pos - which can maybe excused within the narrative context - it makes him look like a pompous brat, which clashes severely with his "actually smart and rebellious Prince wearing the mask of a flirty brat"

Dorian leaves the ball, restless and comes across Celaena training but...

There she was. Her golden hair shone as she wove in and out of a knot of three guards, her sword little more than a steel extension of her hand. She didn’t balk at the guards as she dodged and twirled around them. Someone began clapping to the left, and the four dueling figures stopped, panting. I get what's happening but I still feel more for her interactions with Nehemia and Chaol.

Dorian and Nehemia sparing is unexpected but okay.

I get why this is happening and if the core 4 were our main characters throughout the series I wouldn't mind but I wish SJM had grown out of having every character be able to physically fight.

Chaol and Celaena being fighters make sense, Dorian and Nehemia being able to weapon play to some extent makes sense as well but I want there to be a clearer distinction between the warriors and the politicians.

They stopped, and Dorian followed Chaol to a corner. They spoke quickly—angrily—before Chaol came back to Celaena. “The guards will take you to your chambers.”

“That’s absurd!” she cried, and a pinch from Chaol kept her voice down. not to bring irl problems into it but on a serious note, sometimes I really worry about Sarah Janet. Pinching, as a sort of warning or punishment for "acting out" is actually one of the most common precursors of domestic violence.

I'm not saying Chaol is abusive or anything. This story obviously stands alone and has morality which is constructed with its context in mind. But Sarah never stops including serious but subtle signs of domestic violence in her romances - even the ones she herself believes to be best. I'm not talking about forcing someone to hike until they collapse or keeping personal information from them or even lashing out in anger - small things like following up disparaging language with assurances of love, pinching, being overly nice to everyone else but telling one person they have to act a certain way to earn that same level of affection etc the little things slip through the cracks and poison the minds of impressionable people

Celaena brings up her vomiting and the damage to her body. Very well done.

Anyways Celaena and Chaol argue and he orders her back to her room. The second Test is coming up the next day.

The familiar cracks are starting to show - sjm will build up her characters to be a certain way then betray their characterisation through hypocritical thoughts or actions. She does this to try to show the reader that the character is changing how they think for the sake of the love interest but we're two weeks and less than 20 chapters in. It just makes the characters look flaky.

Overall I'm still riding the high of it being so much better than acotar

As it is Wednesday, the 1st of November, I'd love to provide my promised Worldbuilding Prompt, just for you!

Please talk to me about your military, if you don't mind! Picking a specific force to stick with, I'm curious if you have any militaries which do a lot of work with non-military government organisations?

Oooh this is a good one!! I don't get much excuse to talk about the militaries.

Okay, so for this I'll go with the Heavusian military since they're the most fleshed out.

And just to get a little extra worldbuilding in, I'll list the ranks and branches in Dornumite, with their English translations in parentheses. Pronunciations will be in brackets.

Heavusian (Dornumite) Military Basics

Heavusian military is very simplified when put to paper as the essential information, but becomes more complex as you go through it properly.

There are three branches and six, universal, ranks. A soldier chooses their branch when enlisting, and is given several aptitude tests which designate them for their starting rank, as well as their role within their chosen branch.

These aptitude tests include: marksmanship, mathematics, mechanical engineering, language comprehension, computer science, electronics information, world knowledge, geography, geometry, mechanical comprehension, word knowledge, electronics information, divine powerset (a test to determine one's Blessing and how it is triggered and used), and general retention skills.

A soldier may be promoted based on time served or performance in their rank, and may be listed as Do Not Promote for a number of reasons, which include but are not limited to

Incapable of higher duties

Consistently fails to meet standard performance for current Rank

Psychological instability (depending on severity can also be cause for termination)

Protection of Interests (used to prevent a crucial individual from being removed from the duties they are necessary for, or to prevent an individual with specialized, classified knowledge from being promoted to another area of operation where that knowledge may be compromised)

Any species may enlist, save for tribrids which, as those familiar with Dornum's policies will know, are executed on-sight.

Ranks

Rikante (Recruit) [R-ih-k-on-t-ay] - A recruit is an enlisted soldier who has not yet completed training. From the moment you enlist to the moment you graduate from training your rank is Recruit. Seniority does not apply to Recruits, and those hours away from graduating are still seen as no better than those who arrived on base moments ago. Recruits are given menial tasks and minimal responsibility, with their jobs on base often consisting of cleaning, cooking, and general upkeep of their living quarters. Time not spent performing a task for the betterment of the base MUST be spent training except during sleeping hours.

Fizare (Officer) [F-iz-arr-ay] - An officer is an enlisted soldier who has completed training and failed to exceed average expectations. They are assigned to a role based on their highest scores in the aptitude test, and placed under the command of a higher ranking soldier. There will typically be nine Fizare to one commanding soldier of the next rank. This grouping is known as a Dermala (literally meaning "ten man") [D-err-m-uh-l-uh]. Fizare are often seen as the "workforce" of the military, performing jobs alongside Recruits, as well as deliveries between bases, repairmen (small arms and vehicular), and general combat scenarios. Seniority is based on time served, with the military officially recognizing Fizare who have served for certain amounts of time as superior, with Fizare gaining a tally mark across their insignia for each year served as Fizare, denoting their experience to others quickly and easily. This has led to nicknames within the ranks such as "unscratched", "one-scratch", "two-scratch", etc. It is customary that, should a Fizare gain ten tally-marks, they be promoted immediately via Seniority Promotion, unless there is significant reasoning not to do so.

Vorokan (Warden) [V-or-oh-k-ah-n] - Vorokan are those who have either completed training with higher than average scores in three or more fields, or have proven themselves to be above average in their field as a Fizare. Vorokan are often in charge of a Dermala, and given leadership roles over Fizare. They are never asked to work alongside Recruits, with Vorokan duties often consisting of repairmen (small arms, large arms, vehicular, and general machinery), leading small combat operations (in tandem with other Vorokan and their Dermala), low-risk scouting missions, and deliveries from bases to leadership strongholds. Vorokan seniority is, like all ranks Fizare and above, based on time served and is denoted by tally marks on their insignia. Unlike Fizare, Vorokan and all ranks above it only require five tally marks to be given Seniority Promotion.

Karlemala (literally "Career Man") [K-arr-l-m-uh-l-uh] - Karlemala are high ranking soldiers that have either earned their place through years of service, significantly higher performance than the average Vorokan, or those who scored exceptionally well in six or more fields on the aptitude tests. They are tasked with leadership roles in their assigned fields, be that combat, strategy formation, engineering, scouting, or base operations. Karlemala are also tasked with commanding a Cigogarva (literally "Five Group") [See-go-g-arr-v-ah] which is comprised of five Dermala. The Cigogarva that Karlemala are in charge of are invariably designated to perform a task the Karlemala scored exceptionally well on during performance evaluations, training, and the aptitude tests. Karlemala duties consist of ensuring Vorokan perform their tasks to standard expectations or better, as well as training and preparing them for potential scenarios that are likely to be encountered by the Cigogarva or the Vorokan's Dermala. Karlemala are also given the responsibility of evaluating Fizare and Vorokan for performance worthy of promotion, and charged with evaluating them as "DNP", or "Do Not Promote", a special evaluation which permanently prevents an individual from exceeding their current rank.

Zolura (Warlord) [Z-oh-l-yoo-r-uh] - Zolura are those who scored exceptionally well on nine or more fields during the aptitude test, have been promoted due to exceptional performance as a Karlemala, or have served as a Karlemala for five years. Zolura are charged with duties such as training Rikante, furthering the skills and studies of Karlemala to prepare them for promotion, leading Hekgarva (literally "Three Group") which are comprised of three Cigogarvas, high-risk scouting missions, and large-scale combat scenarios. Zolura are also tasked with evaluating Karlemala under their command for early promotion or application of the DNP status. Zolura make up the strategists and high-end leadership roles within the military, and are seen as the penultimate symbol of war within the Heavusian military.

Akkdian (literally "Archdevil") [Ah-k-d-ee-ah-n] - Akkdian are the highest level of leadership within the Heavusian military, with only two ways to earn the rank. You must either be a Heavusi who has served as a Zolura for five years and does not hold DNP status, or you must pass with the maximum possible score in every field of the aptitude test, as well as show exemplary performance in all fields as determined by the Zolura overseeing training. In the case of the latter, you must pass a second aptitude test with a score of 90 points (out of 100) or more. The second aptitude test consists of mock combat scenarios both large and small scale, real-time strategy simulations, complex decision-making tests with various possible outcomes, and a series of firing range and killhouse exercises placing the potential Akkdian in difficult and rapid-paced scenarios to test their judgement, instincts, and reasoning. This second test is administered and scored by a team of five existing Akkdian, each scoring the potential Akkdian individually. The soldier's final score is the average of the scores given by each administering Akkdian, and this average must be 90 or higher to pass and be given the rank of Akkdian. Failure means being Ranked at Zolura, until such time they are able to pass (taking the second test once per year) or are listed as DNP. Akkdian are the generals of the Heavusian military, leading their operations at the largest scale, and are expected to perform vastly above their peers at all times. They have absolute authority, with the only higher command being the Heavusian Council in the capitol city of Dornum.

Branches

Gaiavantin (Grounders, literal meaning "Ground Walkers") [G-eye-uh-v-an-t-in]

Gaiavantin are the infantry and foot soldiers, comprised of any and all species, be they mammalian, reptilian, aquatic, flight-or-glide capable, Mundane, or Mythic.

The Gaiavantin work with both of the other branches on recon/scouting missions, search-and-rescue, general combat, infiltration, and their individual duties often consist of coordinating efforts in combat with the other branches, as well as taking the lead in destabilization efforts and all ground-based warfare.

Yinrudin (literal meaning "Wind Riders") [Y-in-r-oo-d-ah-ss]

Yinrudin are the air force, comprising of exclusively flight-and-glide-capable species such as Heavusi, birds, bats, flying squirrels, sugar gliders, etc.

Yinrudin are often recon/scouts, and those serving as pilots of planes, jets, and helicopters are typically charged with working as air support for the other branches. Yinrudin also serve as search-and-rescue for all branches, which has earned them the nickname "Kandurin" [K-ah-n-d-oo-r-uh-ss], meaning "Guardians".

Otezanin (literal meaning "Oceanics") [Oh-t-eh-z-ah-n-in]

Otezanin are the naval force of the Heavusian military. They are exclusively aquatic and semi-aquatic species such as Heavusi, sharks, orcas, whales, sharks, and various amphibian species.

Otezanin typically provide safe landing for Yinrudin off-shore, naval transport for Gaiavantin, naval support in combat via naval artillery and anti-air, as well as serving in stealth operations involving aquatic transport by submarine. Otezanin also serve alongside Yinrudin on ocean-based search-and-rescue operations. Their individual duties often consist of coordinating efforts in combat with the other branches, as well as taking the lead in water-based warfare.

Work with Non-Military Organizations

The Heavusian Military works directly under the command of the Heavusian Council, a political faction that controls Dornum. The Council is not a militaristic group, with the council as a whole serving a similar role to a King, simply split among several individuals working as a political whole.

The Council has also dictated that the Heavusian Military is beneath the BGP (Bureau of Genetic Purity, a group dedicated to enforcing the extermination and prejudice against Tribrids in Dornum) in authority, with the Bureau often calling in entire Cigogarvas of Gaiavantin soldiers to aid in large-scale sweeps during their irregular tribrid hunts.

Just kidding. I am here to talk today....or to vent, more precisely.

JEE is hard. It's ridiculous. But what's even more ridiculous are the expectations, the burden of honor, and the fear of disappointment and despair ingrained into our values caused due to our inability to cope with the extraordinary expectations, after we get into the toppers group.

I worked hard to get into the 'good kids' group. Then I got demotivated after a single failure coz I'm fucking weak, and now am procrastinating.

"Plenty of people finished 11 and 12 in class 9 and 10. They only practice and take mock tests for the 2 years of secondary higher education. So if you don't atleast finish 12 within 11, you'll never crack JEE. And anything without IIT CSE is meaningless when you are in JEE." —Mom

"You can't even rank first in the small area that we live in? What are you gonna do in JEE where competition is at national level?" —Mom, after I scored 207/300 and ranked 6th at my local coaching centre in my first JEE Main Mock test with Kinematics, mole concept, periodic table, trigonometry as topics.

And the thing is, I can't even protest her words, after all, the 1st rank scored 264 and the 2nd rank scored 246. With such a huge difference, I can't even argue. Since more is expected from me as I am supposedly a kid who is wasting away my potential as a someone who can become a JEE top ranker.

"What? You only answered 252? You couldn't even answer 300? You know right how much your marks will be considering your poor 90% accuracy rate? It will go down to minimum of 220s. I am quite disappointed."

This is the 2nd mock test I am talking about, the result hasn't been declared yet. But this exam was said to be especially hard with the insanely tough maths section and mid hard chem questions. The 1st ranker dude from last time answered 230s this time, and the 2nd ranker answered 256. The 3rd ranker, who is actually one of the best prospect in our entire class 11 batch in the whole state, answered 284 but he's quite sad because apparently he will get a lot of negatives. I am expecting 3rd or 2nd rank this time but I think life's gonna gimme lemons as always.

This is what I go through as a JEE aspirant. It wasn't supposed to be this hard. It's toxic at this point. I am in a rat race that I can't even escape like in other countries, considering even self help opportunities such as working at fast food chains or something, for minors here are considered trash of the society. We aren't free here, we don't have the opportunity to experience the world and explore my options to find out what I am good at. There's only three options. Doctor, engineer, lawyer. This might sound funny because of the stereotype vids on YouTube about Asians. But it's not funny. Many of us can't handle the pressure and commit suicide. Kota, a city in Rajasthan known for being a hotspot of coaching centres, is also stereotyped for being the Indian version of Japan's suicide forest, except it's exclusively for kids. Others go to depression and fall into the abyss of gambling and drugs.

The education system here has lost it's purpose. It has become an elitist system where the only way of survival is either your own talent or your backing. If you don't have either, you're better off being a lowest ranking member of the society succumbing to the higher ranks.

1:46 AM in the morning, I am sitting here writing this post thinking if anybody could say something that would turn my life around. This is more of a silent cry for help instead of something new to share with the world. I am sitting here in vain thinking there might be some magic trick to success here when I deep down know there doesn't exist one. And thus, I fall into this deep rabbit hole, all in my know. I want to stop this spiraling vortex of abyss inside myself that is erasing my existence. But I'm not trying. It's as if I have been mentally and spiritually paralysed.

I have realised something as conclusion. Life is drowning in reality, but the hellish standards that we have here in India are the sandbags that are tied to our feet in this already suffocative water, with no end of depth, we keep drowning and going deeper and deeper. I'm not happy. I want to break out. But I can't. This is painful. I hope it stops. But again, I know it won't, resulting in only pushing myself deeper into the abyss because of my hope being shattered. Hope is becoming dangerous by the day for me.

It is official a beginning of a whole new year. It's 2024. Fireworks are going out loud, lighting the sky - people are celebrating a new year. Hoping and praying for better times and moments. And as much as I wish to do the same I'm still pretty stuck with the miserable emotions from the 2023.

I don't know how to exactly speak of 365 days of 2023 - it was not a good year except maybe two things and they both came conditional. I started the year on a high despite my anxiety and weird mental health I got my passport renewed, gave my English speaking test (scored pretty well), got enrolled in BCD, gave bar exam cleared it. That whole thing was fun. Got an internship at stark place flew away from home to another state, started a whole new alone life. Accident happened, HR fucked me over and pretty much existing in shame, guilt and let down by myself - so yeah not a good year.

And then there is a whole genocide that is still going on while political people stick with greed and power. It breaks my heart to see where the humanity is going on and if I'm being honest 2024 will be successful only if Palestine becomes free and the people live without any fear and with true independence. I honestly wish and pray for the true freedom from genocide going around the world. Humanity comes first.

Apart from this I don't happen to have any excitement or hope from 2024. But it is a new year and I wanted to let out the bad feeling about 2023. Let's see what 2024 is.

while you ladies gossip about your children, the men are busy watching basketball because it’s play off season and yoongi loves basketball.

“ughhhh!!! c’mon golden state” yoongi says while eunwoo and jungkook gossip about the newlywed life.

“so tell me what it’s like now? i know you both have officially been married for a YEAR now so how are you feeling? any changes? second thoughts? how do you guys handle arguments now?”

before jungkook could finish, jaemin comes back inside from playing outside with one of his pajama pant leg over his knee and crying for you.

“MAMAAAA!!! i hurt my leg!!” he’s screaming and making grabby hands at you and when you look at his knee, it does look pretty bad.

he scraped his knee to the white meat but this isn’t the first time he’s taken a severe fall. jaemin is very active so he loves to do flips outside, run around, and wrestle with ahnjong. although he is screaming cause it hurts, you tell your three year old to remain calm so you could clean his boo boo.

Eunwoo sighs, acting soo dramatic, “mine hasn’t really let me touch her since she’s been pregnant.” And it’s jungkooks turn to laugh. “Aw man it’s probably just the mood swings.”

Being with you has taught him alot about the female body and hormones, especially just how fragile a woman is when pregnant.

But it’s safe to say that you both had a really good time during your pregnancy, “anyways… take care of your wives and fiancées guys, don’t fuck it up.” Jin announces and the guys hmm in agreement. “Dude where the fuck is AhnJong?” Eunwoo whispers to jungkook and they both begin to look for his son.

And after he’s finally found the little guy hiding under your dining table, Jungkook excuses himself to go upstairs so he can check up on you and the children.

He tries to never let you handle too much on your own but still he’s not really of much help, “Ahhh big boy what happened?” Jungkook knocks on the door before he’s entering and there you are in the bathroom, patching up Jaemins wound.

“Yn.. jia and jin-sun are peacefully asleep.. come on let me handle his wound, you should go and enjoy with your friends, maybe just gossip about how much great of a husband I am.” He winks at you and you roll your eyes at your cocky husbands humour,

Making Jaemin laugh at his parents playful banter, showing off his set of bunny teeth, exactly like his own father.

📗 Do you want to write something outside of fanfiction? If so, what about?

Like any good writer, of course I do! I'd likely stick to YA or Adult sci-fi/fantasy (similar to what I write in fic) as that's my passion!

My most developed story focuses on a secret organization that acts as basically Fantasy Cops in that they police all things Not Human and make sure those things Stay Secret from Humans. There was a mix of political intrigue as some of these Fantasy Cops were trying to organize a Big Arrest (read: kill) in order to become Ruler of the Fantasy Cops. There was heavy religious imagery involved and especially in how it was all about controlling people rather than actually spiritual. There was of course several other characters who were either born into the non-human side of things, or found their way there. Multiple povs, all intersecting to an eventual Cool Big Fight. Yes I was in high school when it started.

This blog is old enough (it started after high school) that there's a tag for this story (Amantes) but the posts are almost all 10 years old at this point so....

💭 What inspires you and your writing?

I'm ALL about characters, so it's usually something juicy to do with a character dynamic within themselves that I wanna poke at more (the Switch the Beat series was wanting to zero in on Shiro's drive to live at all costs), or the dynamic between several characters that I want to draw out (the a life of little things series (Fealty) is one of these).

Or I'm listening to a song and get hit with the visual of a Very Cool Scene/Moment and now I gotta figure out how to earn it. (To Exist Again's ending scene of Sam unleashing his psychic/magic potential despite Death himself warning him off, was inspired by the big finale of Ghost Love Score.)

I am glad to hear that everyone enjoyed the poll, although it was not a definitive one. Especially Hijikata-san...do you really want to see a man over 30 wear tight-fitting pants (for fencing) or a skirt (for tennis)? Nagakura-san seems to have his own image: jump rope. Harada-san, who boasts of his vigor and stamina, runs long distances. Is Okita-san Japanese style? Hijikata-san is more like a Western style (laughs). I am curious about Todo, Yamanami, Ito, Kondo, etc., because they are usually not on the list at times like this. Is the world really looking for Kondo-sensei in a skort!
