We don’t talk enough about how gorgeous Annie Potts looks as Janine Melnitz. Those perfect eyebrows. The neutral shadow and smudged liner to accentuate her eyes. The subtle color on her cheeks to highlight her beautiful features. (Back when it was called rouge, and heavy contour wasn’t mainstream.) And the subtle red lips. (I wonder how she picked that shade.)

I maintain that when she asked Egon if he had any hobbies, he was too flustered to say something witty. So he told her the truth about his fungus collection. An hour later, he probably thought of a better response. Some people may see Janine as some average girl from Brooklyn. But I think Egon saw her true inner and outer beauty.
