HAPPY 92nd BIRTHDAY, my dearest Sylvia Plath! ♥ RIP!
(27 October 1932, Boston, USA – 11 February 1963, London, UK)
"Someone, somewhere, can you understand me a little, love me a little? For all my despair, for all my ideals, for all that – I love life. But it is hard, and I have so much – so very much to learn –"
–The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath, diary entry no. 31, 1951

“I'll tell you who I found a very difficult man—a very strong man in the way he works—Visconti. Now working with Visconti on The Leopard, well, you recognise that the values are pretty much what you'd like them to be, and even better than you would hope for them to be. So the tendency then is to go along. I didn't for one moment pretend that I could do what he was doing better than Visconti could do it himself: in the framework of the film, in the set-up of the camera, in terms of the style. He understood the nature of the story so well, as compared to myself—an American playing an Italian nobleman.
But as far as my acting was concerned, Visconti gave me complete freedom—regarding the way I wanted to move, the whole acting aspect of it. There was only one time on the set when we had a long talk—about three hours—about the approach to one scene. And the ideas he wanted me to get across were brilliant. They were far superior to anything I had in mind. But in the main, if he thinks you're a good thorough professional and you know what you're doing, then he'll let you go straight ahead and do whatever you want to do. And after that, you see, he'll refine the things you've done. I was very happy with The Leopard. I think it was some of my best work,” Burt Lancaster in an interview with Gordon Gow for Films and Filming Magazine, 1970.

On the 18th June 1963, Paul celebrated his 21st birthday with a party held at his Aunt Gin's house in Liverpool🎂🍺💐
The Fourmost performed at Paul's request and declined his offer to pay their regular fee. Other guests included Billy J Kramer and The Shadows🎂🍺💐
"At the party the boys' old friend Bob Wooler, the Cavern emcee, made a crack to John about his holiday," said Cynthia, referring to John's vacation with Brian Epstein which Wooler called "a honeymoon". "John, who'd had plenty to drink, exploded. He leapt on Bob, and by the time he was dragged off Bob had a black eye and badly bruised ribs. I took John home as fast as I could, and Brian drove Bob to the hospital." "I was appalled that John had lashed out again. I'd thought those days were over. But John was still livid, muttering that Bob had called him a queer. A day or two later when he had cooled down he was ashamed. He kept repeating, 'Oh, God, Cyn, what have I done?' He sent Bob a telegram saying, 'Really sorry Bob stop terribly worried to realise what I had done stop what more can I say John Lennon.'"🎂🍺💐
"He swore he'd never do anything like it again and, to my knowledge, he didn't, certainly for as long as we were together.”🎂🍺
Photos taken on June 18, 1963. Thank you to Boris for these rare images🎂

Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato Opera Unica, 2023. A one-off created by Lamborghini's Ad Personam department as part of the company's 60th birthday celebrations. The unique hand-finished crystal-effect paint process is inspired by the vibrant blues of Sardinia's seas and skies. Blu Amnis is used as the first base paint colour and then etched into by hand with a second Blu Grifo paint and a third colour Blu Fedra, in a process taking over 370 hours.

HAPPY 91st BIRTHDAY, my dearest Sylvia! ♥ RIP!

"Not to be sentimental, as I sound, but why the hell are we conditioned into the smooth strawberry-and-cream Mother-Goose-world, Alice-in-Wonderland fable, only to be broken on the wheel as we grow older and become aware of ourselves as individuals with a dull responsibility in life?"
--The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath, diary entry no. 40, 1951
