fellow V2 enjoyer hell yeah 🤝 I really think they're under represented in fanwork even though they have such interesting narrative potential (long paragraph about V2 removed (joke)). also that's super cool to hear, had a lot of fun playing around with the layout in dect and working with the webpage format :)

it's on a hiatus right now but re: future projects, I've been working on OVERTIME for a few years now! it's less like, existential and sad than DECT (or at least a little) but it'll be presented in a similar text/image style and also. has cool robots

also I never actually posted the panel sketches on here, I'll probably post em with some other art later down the line but theyre topical now as well too sooo:

most of the sketches from here made it into the comic, but I cut a few parts depicting V2's defeat, as the action in them didn't really fit the rest of the comic's visuals. I may revisit them sometime in other fanart, though

I appreciate you letting me know, it's really interesting to hear others' thoughts on it; it's honestly an honor to have a work called profound in any context but especially with this, thank you :)

re: the ending illustrations, them feeling like a deteriorating memory was part of the intention! also saw someone interpret it as V2 being on the edge of reality, literally out of bounds of the story. I'm also a fan of Kristoffer Zetterstrand's CS paintings, which influenced the visuals of DECT a lot but it's more blatant in those final parts.

as both a response to these asks and as a general statement: if you enjoyed DECT you'd probably also enjoy Patricia Taxxon's video Art, Furries, God as well as Theatre of Coolty. 17776 goes without saying but that's already in the credits, I just wanted to rec these others before I forgot. goodbye and goodnight
