Enjoy @minafeu
Like always ⚠️Trigger Warning ⚠️ for blood, guts, and gore
Judge Sebastian Frollo wasn't always the man of God that he is today. His younger self was filled with hate and anger at his father, the world, everything. He lashed out and made many enemies during high school before getting kicked out and joining the church to find some sort of purpose; and he did.
The news of Adam's gruesome death has struck fear in the hearts of the people. With Ben contents away with no way to gain a hold of the royals apart of the court have been scrambling to find a suitable replacement and have turn to the church for guidance. Which is why Sebastian is here after hours kneeling to his holy father for help.
"Oh most righteous lord. I beg of thy to guide me. I ask of your heavenly wisdom to guide me to the right direction. Our county is in shambles as a darkness plagues the people, a demon has-"
"I do believe I am worse than a lowly demon."
A deep rumble echoes through the large chapel, the stone and wood tremble with the sheer volume. Sebastian stands, fear racing through him as he presses against the holy alter. He grips his cross, mumbling a pray as a what can only be described as a demonic chuckle makes the stained glass shake. It's low, haunting and Sebastian holds his cross tighter.
"I am not afraid of you monster. My father in heaven-"
"Your father has abandoned you!" The voice snarls, it sounds both far away and too close, the sound of metal dragging against stone makes him cringe from the sound.
"He has not! My holy father would never let his most faithful servant fall at the hands of a monster!" Sebastian yells, his own voice wavering as he backs away, he could run away, escaping through the back door of the church.
"Oh Sebastian..." The voice rumbles against his ear. "You should have stayed away from what's mine, from Red." The monster's hand pierces through his back, he gasps as he feels it wrap around his spine. "And now, your death won't cause anything but joy to me." With that Sebastian screams as his lower spine gets pulled out of his body crumpling to the ground.
"Chloe-" Sebastian croaks as he sees the girl from high school tower over her, her eyes glowing, her face animalistic, her feet ached inhumanely.
"I'm tired of hearing your voice." Chloe snarls and it's almost like seeing double, a spectral presence shadows her moves as she digs sharp claws into his throat, gagging on his own blood as he suffocates.
---
The next morning the clergy scream as Sebastian's remains are used to decorate the alter his head front and center and what's little left of him paints the alter red. And all the stained glass windows depicting the other kingdoms are broken, except for Wonderland's.

The latest in their Project X series Mother Earth Brewing releases Higher Learning Hazy IPA. With art by Spanish artist Senky.
https://bit.ly/3wrkOdd Press Release Vista, CA & Nampa, ID – May 14th, 2024. Mother Earth’s rotating Project X Series is turning  the beer world upside down – literally. The brewery’s newest HIPA features the heady,  surrealistic stylings of Spanish artist, Senky, depicting an inverted mountain of books in a  desolate landscape. Mother Earth’s Director of Brewing Ops, Chris Baker, says the beer itself  was inspired by the art:  “When designing a beer there is no doubt that the label art comes into play. You can’t have a  gorgeous label followed by a lackluster beer inside. One must fit the other, so as brewers we are  tasked with creating something that stands up to what’s on the label. There’s absolutely an  expectation that the sensory experience is consistent.”  Fortunately, consistency is one of Mother Earth’s hallmarks and Higher Learning is no  exception. They’re able to highlight the featured hops by using their signature malt profile,  allowing Sabro, Galaxy, and Nelson Sauvin to impress. Aroma and flavor profiles of coconut,  peach, passionfruit, mango and a touch of dankness, combined with a soft wheat-driven mouthfeel create an exceptionally smooth finish. As opposed to our year-round HIPA, Heavy  Cloud, which is a lighter, citrusy affair, Higher Learning has a fuller mouthfeel with a more  robust mid-palate and a richer overall expression.  Higher Learning is available now on draft and in 16oz cans. Customers can find it using Mother  Earth’s beer finder at findmotherearthbrewing.com or at its three tap rooms.  # # #  About Mother Earth  Mother Earth Brew Co. develops hand crafted artisanal ales in year-round, as well as seasonal and specialty offerings. With multi-state as well as  international distribution serviced by breweries in Vista, CA and Nampa, ID; Mother Earth’s award-winning beers help define and maintain the  standard of excellence expected of independent craft brewers.  from Northwest Beer Guide - News - The Northwest Beer Guide https://bit.ly/3WI4jnv

“Carrier Waves” Double IPA Fifth Frame Brewing
Illustration, lettering, layout & photography
Fifth Frame Brewing Co. is relatively new to Rochester, N.Y., but quickly becoming the darling of the local beer scene. Their fresh spins on modern classics is a refreshing approach that puts this brewery in a league of its own. Carrier Waves is a 8.5% ABV, mosaic-based Double IPA—a hazy take on your standard IPA. Housed in a 16oz can, the packaging depicts a story of archaic signals being broadcast over a foggy seascape. Turn on, tune in, drop out and let the Mosaic on Mosaic hops wash over you.

Cold Brew Coffee
Cold brew Coffee (or also known as Cold pressed Coffee) is the best way to brew Coffee for people with sensitive stomachs. The other benefit is that the flavours, predominantly for a medium roast Coffee, are bought to the forefront and highlighted in the cold brew Coffee. Cold brewed Coffee is not exposed to the same chemical reactions as a hot Coffee, during the extraction process. The natural sugars have time to dissolve in the water during the cold brew Coffee process, because its “steeping”, or “extraction” time is anywhere between 6 and 24 hours – sometimes longer depending on your preferred method.
You can also store cold Coffee in the fridge for weeks. BONUS!
So, what’s the deal with Cold Brew Coffee?
What is this Cold Brew phenomena that we’ve been seeing over this last year, and what is Cold Brew Coffee? It feels like it has a new cult following, along with the Pure Green Coffee, Turmeric Drinks, Purple Super Tea, Cold Brew Tea, Kombucha and other drink cults that are appearing, so what’s all the fuss???
When you boil it down (excuse the pun), it’s an amount of coarsely ground roasted Coffee beans soaked in water, until the water takes on the flavour of the Coffee and produces the cold brew Coffee. However, just as in conventional Coffee brewing, there are many ways of creating cold brew Coffee and there a few tweaks that you can complete to ensure that it’s the best flavoured cold brew Coffee for you.
Is cold brew Coffee good for you, why is cold brewed Coffee better than hot and are there any real Cold brew Coffee benefits??
I personally think it comes down to three key areas here - health benefits, flavour enhancements and last but certainly not least, it’s a really nice cold Coffee drink on a hot day!
Health Benefits
Ultimately, I think most of us are looking for that extra little piece of healthy” in our life these days. With milk allergies on the rise and the introduction of A2 milk that removes some of the milk protein for the more sensitive bellies out there, food stuffs are becoming more and more under the microscope. I personally have a thing called Barrett’s Esophagus, I know.. This Barrett guy has a lot to answer for! Its where the acid build up in your stomach overflows and creates a burning sensation in your Esophagus, creating heartburn or acid indigestion. Nexium has been released to the market and available over the counter to relieve these heartburn and reflux issues, but some white papers say that this causes Alzheimer’s. What are we to do!!! Lower your acidity intake to take the more natural approach to alleviating these symptoms. 😊
During my own research it appears that Cold brew Coffee actually produces less acid content that normal hot Coffees. One study by Toddy states:
“Cold-brewed Coffee is 67 percent less acidic than hot-brewed. Without all that acid, the burnt flavour that plagues hot-brewed Coffee is eliminated. Plus, the reduced acid makes it healthier for your stomach and your teeth.”
Courtesy of “https://www.thedailybeast.com/Coffees-dirty-little-secret”
This is due to the slow process that cold brew Coffee extraction takes. It also removes the need to add sugar, for those of us who like a sweeter tasting Coffee.
Flavour
Playing with the flavours that you can extract form the roasted Coffee bean during the production of Cold Brew Coffee, has been the most fun for me. We roast our beans to a medium roast, really trying to draw out the natural flavour of the Coffee bean. Not going into too much detail but depending on where we procure our green beans from depicts the flavour profile that the bean will have. EG Some of the green beans purchased from Mexico have tones of caramels and spices, whereas beans sourced from Ethiopia will have the tones of fruits and chocolates. Being a foodie since I was about 7 and making Chill Con Carne with baked beans (much to the dismay of my mum – love ya mum) and thinking it was awesome, playing with Coffee’s flavour profiles are personally my favourite part of the of Coffee production process and why I got involved in the industry in the first place.
Its these flavour notes that are drawn out when producing a cold brew Coffee from a well farmed Coffee Bean.
What is the best way to make Cold Brew Coffee and how do you make the best cold brew Coffee?
The first thing to know about cold brew Coffee is that the brewing process takes a long time. Without adding heat to the extraction process, relying on cold water and potentially ice cubes, it takes much longer to draw out those flavours to form a well-rounded flavour profile. Ordinary sugar is harder to break down in cold water, and this is the same as the sugars and flavours that reside within the Coffee Bean. The cold brewing process really slows down the extraction of the flavours that are held within the bean and does so much, much more elegantly than any hot extraction process. What you end up with (depending on the method and process within the method that you choose) are notes of the actual flavours from the bean that are apparent from the growing, drying and roasting processes. You will see a rise in sweetness and the natural flavours of the bean but also that sought after 67% less acidic beverage. As a result of this, the bitterness normally associated with the cooling down of hot Coffee, particularly espresso Coffee, is greatly reduced. I personally will drink a Cold Brew Coffee with absolutely no milk or sugar. Its sweet enough, just like my Mrs. 😊
Fundamentally there are two methods of brewing Cold Brew Coffee.
Steeping/Immersion method – this is where you simply allow the coarsely ground Coffee to “sit” in a batch of water and let the Coffee and water simply bloom over a term. This normally takes about 12 hours and can be accomplished using a variety of equipment.
Drip method – this is where you place the coarsely ground Coffee into a filter and allow an extremely slow drip of water to pass through, allowing the water to extract the Coffee flavours and sugars on its way through.
My preferred method, and I’ve tried a few now and feel like a real Coffee Alchemist, is the cold drip method. I’m no scientist but can take an educated guess that cold drip Coffee processed over a 24-hour period produces a much rounder and fuller flavour. This is absolutely my opinion though, everyone’s pallete is different right! I’m also pretty sure that adding ice to the water at the beginning of the drip process slows down the chemical process too giving a bigger spectrum of flavour extraction – just my educated guess! 😊
Is cold Brew Coffee Stronger than Regular Coffee?
There is such a complicated answer to this question! Where do I start!! Well it is all a little bit Sciency so hold on to your hats!
There is a misconception that caffeine quantity per mg is higher in some brews/methods than others. For example that famous espresso cuppa that most of us drink every morning, is often touted as having the most caffeine content, but it isn’t if you’re judging by serving size! Dark roasts also are spruiked as having more caffeine content than lighter roasts and this is actually justified, as dark roast Coffee does in fact have more caffeine than lighter roasts!!
There is a lot of chatter that present cold brew Coffee as having a significant amount of caffeine to help you along in your day – but does that chatter have any credence??? Well it’s complicated!!
Caffeine content in Coffee is extremely variable. An average cup of Coffee can contain anywhere between 84 and 580 mg of caffeine. Many factors are attributable to the large variant of caffeine content - Coffee type, grind size, brew time, dwell time, roast profiles and the actual tree that the grew the green beans prior to roasting.
Despite these variables cold brew Coffee usually has less caffeine, but this isn’t clear cut! Caffeine generally extracts better in hot water than cold, meaning you get more caffeine in hot brews Vs a cold brew.
“Caffeine’s solubility is primary driven by temperature, such that at higher temperatures, significantly more caffeine will dissolve in solution than at cooler temperatures, if you are using the same brew-to-water ratios, the cold brew will definitely have less caffeine than hot.”
Courtesy of a comment made by Joseph Rivera of Coffee Chemistry
However, and this is where it gets less clear cut, cold brew Coffee is typically made with a higher ratio of Coffee to water, approximately 2-2 ½ times more. This means it is stronger than if made with a more conventional Coffee-to-water ratio. However, cold brew Coffee once fully processed comes in as a concentrate and should be then mixed with one part Coffee to one part water or milk, which brings that caffeine content right down. I actually drink the finished product with no added water or milk – such a caffeine junky!
As a commercial example, let’s take Starbucks. A 16oz cold brew cup from Starbucks is reported to contain 200 mg of caffeine, whereas a hot 16oz Coffee can contain anywhere from 260 to 360 mg, depending on the beans you choose.

Would You Get a Tattoo for Free Beer for Life?
Would you get a tattoo for free beer? That’s the challenge from Oskar Blues Brewery. (Credit: Oskar Blues/Twitter)
July 6, 2017
Would you get a tattoo in exchange for free beer? The answer to that question was a rousing “Yes!” for about two dozen of Oskar Blues Brewery’s biggest fans.
The special edition Dale’s Pale Ale cans feature McBess’ artwork. (Credit: Oskar Blues Brewery/Twitter)
This summer, the brewery is celebrating 15 years of its iconic cans of Dale’s Pale Ale. Oskar Blues is a canned craft beer pioneer, setting a model that other independent breweries would eventually follow.
As part of the (can)niversary, Oskar Blues Brewery is launching new 16oz. Dale’s Pale Ale Draft Cans. Oskar Blues turned to illustrator McBess to create special artwork.
(READ: Russian River’s Classy Response to Losing Top Spot in Best Beers Poll)
“What I love to do in my work is try ways to put a puzzle challenge to it. There’s lots of levels of details and back stories,” McBess says in a YouTube video.
He designed three separate cans for the project. Each can features standalone art — but when you arrange them side-by-side, they also tell a larger story.
“They create a single larger image that depicts Oskar Blues’ unlikely and irreverent journey from mountain town brewpub to craft beer pioneer,” the brewery’s website explains.
(READ: 2017’s Great American Beer Bars)
About That Free Beer Tattoo …
The can is part of the brewery’s overall “disregard for status quo” ethos — and that’s no doubt where the idea of tattoos and free beer was born.
During two of its initial can release parties, Sharky’s Paradise Tattoo set up a mobile tattoo parlor (which, by the way, looks like a shark). Oskar Blues said anyone who got a tattoo of the weasel — plucked from McBess’s can artwork — would get a free beer.
The brewery tells CraftBeer.com 26 people were game. They’ll now get free beer at Oskar Blues breweries and Tasty Weasel Taproom locations (at least in the locations where free beer is legal).
The free beer tattoo event is over, but you can still hunt for the special 16 oz. Dale’s Pale Ale cans. You can find the exclusive cans at the brewery’s taprooms in Longmont, Colorado, and Brevard County, North Carolina. They’ll also pop up in a small handful of bars and restaurants across the U.S.
So now my question to you: How far would you go for free beer?
Jess Baker
Jess Baker is the editor in chief of CraftBeer.com. Enamored by the personalities, dedication and entrepreneurial spirit of America’s small and independent brewers, she brings their stories to life. She’s a runner, an aunt, a die-hard Springsteen fan, and suffers from a bit of social media obsession. Read more by this author

Only the 2nd batch in their Foeder Series, Buoy Beer Company releases Brett Saison on stone fruit in cans and on draft.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Press Release
ASTORIA, OREGON - Buoy Beer Company is releasing their second Foeder beer. The Brett Saison is brewed with Pilsen malt, oats, and Mecca Grade Vienna rye and red wheat malts, hopped with Czech Saaz and French Triskel hops, and fermented throughout the brewing process with blends of house Brett yeast strains for 26 months. Half of the complex and funky batch was dry-hopped with Strata, Citra, and Azacca hops while another half was conditioned on peaches and apricots, creating two unique batches of the Saison.
Oak Foeders are sometimes preferred over barrels for beer fermentation because of the opportunity to mature the beer longer and create a slower, more controlled O2 exposure. The higher beer-to-wood ratio gives a subtler wood flavor and allows the beer to develop over a longer period of time. Buoy Beer’s 60 BBL Foeder arrived at Buoy Beer in early 2018, purchased from The Commons Brewery at the time of their closure. Previously, the Foeder was used by Anchorage Brewing in Alaska and was originally made for Harlan Estate, a wine company in Napa Valley. The Foeder addition has been an inspiring acquisition for the Buoy brewers, who are excited to expand the styles brewed and continue to create unique beers soaked with spontaneity and history.
“The Foeder stands in a busy crossway in the brewery between the brewhouse, lager fermenters, and the hop cooler,” says Michael Duron, Lead Brewer. “While there’s not a lot of beer going in and out of the Foeder, there’s an energy of activity that exudes from it, a reminder of the intricacy of slow beer.”
To broaden accessibility, Brett Saison with Stone Fruit was canned in 4 packs of 16oz cans but continues the tradition of featuring artwork from Pacific Northwest artists. The Brett Saison label artwork depicts an octopus juggling fruit in the brewery and was created by Dana Salo, Buoy Beer’s resident graphic artist.
"We want to get this fantastic beer into people’s hands," says Jeremiah Smith, Sales Director. "After waiting 26 months to get it into a can, our team is excited to share this unique offering from our brewery."
The Brett Saison with Stone Fruit has been released in cans and draft; the dry-hopped Brett Saison has been released in draft only. Both styles are available throughout Oregon and Western Washington. Check out both version on Untappd: Brett Saison with Stone Fruit and Dry-hopped Brett Saison.
BUOY BEER COMPANY
Astoria, OR overlooks the meeting of one of the West's most relentless rivers and the wilderness of an entire ocean - and it's here that Buoy Beer Company brews its beer. With balance always a priority, we focus on traditional lagers and NW ales to savor after a hard day's work and to share with friends.

Oskar Blues celebrates 15 years with a limited edition Dale Pale Ale 16-ounce can
Tumblr media
Press Release
LONGMONT, CO -  To celebrate 15 years of the ORIGINAL craft beer in a can, Oskar Blues Brewery is launching new 16oz. Dale’s Pale Ale Draft Cans exclusively to bars and restaurants – an homage to Oskar Blues’ core belief that a keg is a can, is a keg, is a can, is a keg.  Designed to combat limited draft lines, increasing draft clutter and rotation nation; the new Draft Can allows access to a fresh pint of the cult classic Dale’s Pale Ale without taking up a draft line.
As part of their continuous disregard for the status quo Oskar Blues collaborated with avant-garde illustrator McBess to create a series of three limited-release cans that embody a shared enthusiasm for the outdoors, music and craft beer.
When all three cans are aligned side by side, they create a single larger image that depicts Oskar Blues’ unlikely and irreverent journey from mountain town brewpub to craft beer pioneer. The series starts (from right to left in the image above) where it all began, Lyons, Colorado, including a depiction of the original can of Dale’s Pale Ale, it then progresses to the mountain bike haven of Western North Carolina, and onto the live music capital of the world in Austin, Texas.
Founder Dale Katechis gave conventional beer packaging the middle finger in 2002 when he made the industry-altering decision to put Dale’s Pale Ale in a can when no one else had the balls to do so.
“Fifteen years ago we hit the pavement getting thrown out of bars and restaurants trying to convince owners that a can of craft beer was simply a small keg.  The same rings true today. Cans keep beer fresher and we’re bringing a full pint can to the bar stool,” said Dale.
Oskar Blues' innovation and the craft-beer-in-a-can craze changed the face of the craft beer industry. If current bottle and can trends continue within craft beer, by the end of 2017, one out of every four craft beers consumed will be from a can, according to total US Food from IRI Syndicated Data. Compare this to 2014, when one out of every 12 beers consumed was from a can.
Dale’s Pale Ale was the nation’s bestselling craft can 6-pack in 2016. This year marks 15 years of canning and 20 years for the brewery brand whose beers are now sold in all 50 states, D.C. and 17 countries
About Oskar Blues Brewery
Founded 20 years ago in Lyons, Colorado, Oskar Blues Brewery launched the craft beer-in-a-can apocalypse with their hand-canned, flagship brew Dale's Pale Ale. Today, Oskar Blues is one of the fastest growing breweries in the country and operates breweries in Colorado, North Carolina and Texas. Oskar Blues produced more than  200,000 barrels in 2016 and Dale’s Pale Ale earned the nation's top-selling craft can six-pack at U.S supermarkets. The original craft beer canners continue to push innovation with creations like The CROWLER, Hotbox Coffee Roasters, B. Stiff & Sons Old Fashioned Sodas, The Oak Room, Oskar Blues Fooderies, REEB Cycles and the cycling inspired accommodations and event space at REEB Ranch in North Carolina. Oskar Blues is available in all 50 U.S. states, Washington, D.C., parts of Canada, Puerto Rico, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Brazil, and South Korea.
In 2013, Oskar Blues founder Dale Katechis launched the CAN'd Aid Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose “do-goodery” has raised $2.6 million in four focused areas:
Towns - building strong communities
Tunes - for your eyeholes and earholes
Treads + Trails - get outside and get after it
Love Yur Mama - save the blue marble

As part of six unique releases, Southern Tier announces the release of "All Is Well At The Station Double IPA"
Press Release
LAKEWOOD, NY – Southern Tier Brewing Company introduces a new 16oz can Double India Pale Ale collection. The brand new “Science is the Art” Collection showcases their brewers’ scientific exactitude through distinctive commissioned artistry. Featuring vibrant and energetic graphic novel-like labels, the collection will feature six expertly crafted, flavorful episodes that depict a short story throughout 2018. The first episode titled ‘All is Well at the Station’, is set to release early-January.
The six releases feature new flavor profiles, and each label is an episode in a six-part story, as interpreted by sci-fi artist, Christopher Balaskas. These unconventionally named beers each serve as a snapshot of an unfolding science fiction tale. ‘All is Well at the Station’ is an 8.5% ABV, double IPA featuring Amarillo, Chinook, CTZ, and Simcoe hops, giving this brew a big citrusy and earthy character with a dank edge. It is a remarkably drinkable double IPA as the malt bill leaves just enough residual sweetness to perfectly balance its hoppiness. As for the artwork, we see an astronaut flying above a tranquil moon outpost. Surely all is well…or is it?
From the brew house to the laboratory and beyond, STBC has made quality with scientific backing a pillar to its success. This series is where artistry and science merge and the two are indistinguishable, where ‘science is the art’.
The Science of the Art Collection is sold in 16oz can 4-packs.
About Southern Tier Brewing Company
In 2002, Phin and Sara DeMink founded Southern Tier Brewing Company in Lakewood, New York with the vision of reviving the practice of small batch brewing to a region rich in brewing tradition. Following several expansions from 2009 through 2013, Southern Tier now ships over 100,000 barrels annually to 33 states to meet growing demand for Southern Tier’s diverse portfolio of innovative beers that embody the spirit of American craft brewing. In 2015, Southern Tier Distilling Company was formed to create innovative small batch spirits using unique local ingredients under a New York farm distilling license.
