Leon x GN reader x Redacted (Leon and Redacted belong to @14dayswithyou)
Fluff and Angst
You swung open the building door, breathing a grateful gulp of fresh air after being holed up all day in the office. Fresh being an overstatement, because the air was mediocre, and on good days. Stretching your limbs, you lingered, taking in your surroundings with tired eyes.
A forest of concrete, as far as your vision reached. Rows after rows of buildings, small houses, and shops sat clustered on this street. The car horns, and the general cacophony of a busy neighborhood had become white noise to you. Begrudgingly acquainted with city life now. A far cry from Corland Bay. Your hometown felt so distant, wrapped in the salty breeze and cozy charm of its memories.
The beach, the library, the playground, the lake, your old haunts, and…and…what else
You closed your eyes, heaving in a deep sigh and exhaled. Not today. You wouldn’t go down that road.
The evening sun had already slipped past the horizon, letting its final wisps linger like flickering embers in the sky.
Its crimson, golden, orange hues, shone like faint, still wet brush strokes on the edges of a black canvas. You had a feeling that it was going to be a dark night. The kind with no stars in sight. Perfect for the Halloween enthusiasts, who had littered the pathway of your neighborhood with various kinds of carved pumpkins sporting jarring, lopsided mocking smiles.
It was late. You were late. Or maybe you had miscalculated. Maybe you should’ve left your office earlier—made some excuse, should’ve faked sickness. Anything really, just to avoid this crowd of people that were already out and about. Donning costumes, gnarly makeup, laughing and hollering. The kids, high on sugar, little demons slipped past the grasp of exhausted parents; who flailed behind them zombie-like, carrying fluorescent orange pumpkin baskets, overflowing with an array of candies.
You stood out, in your disheveled clothes and messy hair, walking amongst the dead and undead. Or perhaps you fit right in, with the way people walked past you, without a sparing glance. A ghost. An invisible specter. Didn’t really need a costume for that.
You looked down, suddenly overcome with this unnamed feeling at the pit of your stomach. You pulled at the ends of your sleeves and hastened your pace. Eyes stinging with a slow pressure that built somewhere deep inside your chest. A dull persistent ache.
You turned a corner striding blindly—relying more on muscle memory than your sense of direction—towards your apartment building.
Reaching inside, you mashed the elevator button, repeatedly abusing it, as if willing the old elevator to appear by force. The tacky music grated more on your nerves today.
With a ding, you stepped out. Feet trudging up to your door and stopping in front of it. Yours was the only one to not have a candy basket placed outside. The corridor was deserted too. Silent in the face of the festivities.
For all your fervor to get home, here you were, in a weird stare down with your apartment door. Clutching the key tightly between your thumb and forefinger, you found yourself hesitant, almost appalled by the idea to go inside.
With a weary sigh you rested your back against the door and slid down it. Sitting in a huddle on the floor.
What was it really?
Yet you knew the answer to it already.
Fear. It was fear of what you’ll see when you unlock your apartment and walk in. Or more so, how you’ll feel. Dark room, a small dining table with a single chair, pushed into a cramped corner of your compact kitchen. And a withered bouquet of red chrysanthemums—sent by him, weeks ago— that you didn’t have the heart to discard. It sat wilted and droopy, placed in a cut off plastic bottle for lack of a glass vase. Scattered, sparse furniture and blank gray walls. A visual representation of your own emotions really. Cold. Lonely.
You had never bothered to decorate your studio, afraid that if you let this place feel like a home, it’ll be permanent. So you lived like this. Split in halves. With the other dwelling happily somewhere, in that time, frozen and framed in a cute picture that sat on your nightstand. You and Leon. On a summer-y afternoon, running barefoot across the sandy stretches of the beach.
You closed your eyes, picturing his topaz ones twinkling at you in mischief as he chased after you, amidst playful shrieks and raucous laughter. Hands coming to wrap around your waist as he spun you and dragged you into the embrace of the tides.
You scoffed, tasting the salt of that balmy ocean on your lips, brushing the traitorous tear that rolled down your cheek, with the back of your hand. At last you had lost to the wave of nostalgia that had been threatening to consume you all day. Holidays made you particularly homesick. And it didn’t help that you were miles apart. That you missed his stupid smile, when he called you by that goofy nickname.
You chewed at your bottom lip, contemplating, debating. When your phone screen lit up catching you off guard, making you almost drop it in surprise.
You stared at the caller ID, dumbfounded.
‘Oarfish’ it read.
“Leon? What are the odds…” You mumbled, clearing your throat and forcing on a smile, hoping that some cheeriness masks your heavy voice.
Your fingers toyed with the white beads of your bracelet, thumbing the little fish charm dangling from it. A nervous tic, a comforting fidget. Matching with your childhood friend.
“Heyyy Darl! Miss me?” Leon chirped, voice a bright ray of sunshine splitting through the stormy gray cloud that lingered over your head.
“You know, I’ve got better things to do.” You replied, teasing, imagining the smile etched on the brunet’s face.
“Oh yeah? Better things to do, you say,” Leon intoned. “More important than missing your best mate? Or wishing him a happy Halloween? I’m hurt, Sunfish.” He let out an exaggerated huff, and you could picture the pout he was sporting.
You closed your eyes, chewing the inside of your cheek, feeling that gnatty bit of guilt prick at your heart. It was true. You had been avoiding talking to him. Lying to yourself. Blaming it on your busy work hours, or the timezones. But in reality you knew why. You know why.
“I’m here now aren’t I?”
“Let’s not forget who called whom first, alright?” He retorted, playful banter masking the tinges of accusation and hurt in his voice.
“Fine,” you relented, apologetic and awkward,”Happy Halloween Oarfish”
“See, it’s that easy.” Leon chuckled, “Happy Halloween to you too, Darl.”
You could hear his breaths, soft and steady. The occasional rustle of sheets told you he was in bed.
A beat passed, and he mumbled, “Wish you were here
You opened your eyes again, head lulling back to rest at the door of your apartment. Your fingers tightened around the fish charm, tugging at it, just like his words tugged at the tangled mess of your emotions.
Me too
“I—How have you been?” You exhaled, skirting past the topics that would make you throw every caution to the wind and pack your bags and buy the tickets to the next flight, just so you can see his stupid face and—
Leon smiled, catching onto your miserable attempt at deflecting. No heart to hearts happening tonight. Got it.
“Same old me” he swallowed, shifting to sit in a more relaxed position, fingers drawing abstract patterns on the sheets.
“What about you? Got any plans for tonight? Any wild Halloween bashes to attend?” He joked.
It was your turn to smile now. Sensing the protectiveness and helplessness that he tried to hide behind callous quips.
“Pfft! Oh you know me! A wild party animal, having orgies left and right—“
“Hang on, wait, did I accidentally ring Teo?” He snorted.
“What, so is he the only one who can be wild?” You grumbled in faux indignation.
“Wild? My little sunfish?” he giggled, “Please, the wildest thing you ever did was winning that Christmas bingo, by nicking my grandma’s winning card. And let’s not forget, you swiped it while she was out cold after three glasses of cheap wine”
“Let’s not forget who goaded me into it—“
“And I felt like such a proud dad doing it—but then, let’s not forget who cried all night after, thinking they’d landed on Santa’s naughty list, and would never get another pressie in their life” He laughed now. A full bellied joyful laugh that made something flutter in your stomach. Making you feel weirdly proud that you were the reason behind it.
“Geez, alright! You win; Teo can be the wild one in the group. I guess I don’t mind being the goody-two-shoes.” You grinned, then added, “the only voice of reason.”
“Uh huh, but you’ve always been the cute one in the group, haven’t you?” he hummed, casually and carelessly.
Recklessly you’d say. Frowning at the rapid thump of your heart.
You let out a dismissive snort and brought your knees to your chest, hugging them. The cold marble of the lobby floor, making you shiver a little.
“And you, the nagging parent”
“Tut tut, is this how you’re gonna talk to your daddy?” He snickered
“You did not just say that.”
***
Hours passed. The conversation hopping from light hearted banter, to reminiscing, to talking about the mundane.
You were stiff and achy all over from sitting on the floor for so long, yet you didn’t want to end this conversation here. Didn’t want to go back to the silence and the voice of your own thoughts.
“So then, I told my mate to stop being such an arse, and suck it up. I mean who doesn’t get a few sprains during a tough game of volley, right?” Leon continued.
“Mmhm” You mumbled in response, forcing your eyes to stay open.
A pause, and you heard a soft ‘pfft’ of an amused laugh on the other end.
“You sleeping on me, Darl?” Leon whispered, “Am I boring you?”
“Huh? No, no no” you sat up straighter, rubbing your eyes, “I’m here, I’m listening”
Leon smiled gently, as if you could see him. His hand was cramping now, holding up the phone for the last few hours. He knew you were enjoying this conversation. It hadn’t slipped his notice how you’ve been avoiding him. And perhaps, he had let you.
You have always been like this. Guarded. And Leon wasn’t one to barge. If you were the kind to build up walls, he was the kind to set up a camp on the other side and wait. Wait through all the seasons of your emotions. Wait until you open up and let him in.
“Sunfish?” He hummed, a soft breath in your ear. A hesitant tap on your walls.
“Leon?” You exhaled, holding up your hand in front of you, as if reaching out to him. The bracelet tinkled, catching the light on its beads and shining like seashells in the sun.
Another pause. You listened. To his breathing, to the susurrus of his sheets, straining your ear to hear the million unspoken things he was too considerate to say. And you, too oblivious to figure out.
“I wanted to say *chrrk* want to *chrrk* meet *chrrk* miss you” His voice broke and garbled as the connection waxed and waned.
You lifted the phone off your ear and checked the signal.
Full bars. Huh, strange.
“Leon, can you repeat that? Your voice keeps cutting out” you asked, standing up to get a better signal.
“Huh? I was saying *chrrk* see you *chrrk* Sunfish—”
Before you could say anything else, the call ended abruptly with a sharp beep.
Your fingers hovered over the redial button, but you were interrupted by a slew of messages that dinged on your phone.
Oarfish- “I was saying, it’s pretty late. You should catch some Zs Darl. We can chat plenty tomorrow.”
Oarfish- “Sweet dreams!”
Oarfish- “PS- I might’ve sent something your way, and no I won’t take it back. Enjoy! xoxo”
Just as you began to type out a response, the elevator at the end of the lobby dinged. You heard footsteps approach your door. You checked the time
1:00 am
Puzzled, you saw a delivery boy look at the receipt in his hand and then scan the numbers on the apartment doors. With a flourish he stopped before you and held out a package along with a clipboard for you to sign.
You quickly signed, took the rather heavy box, and walked into your apartment, closing the door behind you with a light kick.
Impatient like a kid on Christmas, you tossed your bag and coat on the couch, flung the keys on the table, and grabbed a knife from the kitchen to open the mysterious box sent by Leon.
Brushing aside the protective wrapping, you let out a surprised laugh.
“Oh Leon, you little goofball.” You murmured in fond appreciation as you studied the contents inside.
There were candies— all your favorite kinds—that expensive bottle of perfume you’d raved about to Leon once, a small string bag full of seashells, and Polaroids. Stacks and stacks of them. Different pictures of you, through the years. Your life, captured in perfect squares.
But that wasn’t all. As you rifled through the box, you realized the Polaroids were part of a display set: Fairy lights, clips, and a small tool box with an instruction manual.
Yet what made you emotional, was the printed card that lay underneath it all. You smiled, reading the words through tear blurred eyes—
“Since you can’t be home this year, I brought the home to you”
And it was true. The seashells, the pictures, and the candies, from that old store near the beach, were like bits of Corland bay packed in a box.
Giddy you fished out the manual and began reading through the instructions, fingers already untangling the fairly lights. With a gleam in your eye, you approached the blank gray wall in your living room.
Maybe, just maybe, this can be your home away from home.
***
The dull noise of the metal guitar leaked through the pair of headphones buried somewhere under the mess of clothes on the bed. The chair creaked as they rocked, back and forth, back and forth. Long legs crossed and propped against the table in front of them.
It was pitch dark. Yet their azure eyes seemed sharp; staring raptly, unblinking, at the bright glare of the large computer screen before them.
“A little to the left”
“No, it’s still uneven”
They occasionally mumbled, amusedly speaking to the person flitting about on the screen. Slender fingers with black painted nails, twitched as if they wanted to reach out and take the task from your hands, and do it for you.
Later, then. When you’re asleep.
He watched, until you stretched and yawned. Tired feet taking you to your bedroom.
They rose then too. Unconsciously mimicking your movements. He slipped under the covers, in sync with you. Eyes flitting up to the Polaroids adorning their wall. Similar to the ones you put up, moments ago.
They smiled conspiratorially; pleased at the treats he had shared with you. Pleased at his neat trickery.
They didn’t even need to look at the screen anymore, to know your nightly habits.
Changing, Brushing your teeth, hair, fluffing your pillows, lifting the end of your duvet and snuggling up all the way to the left side of your bed. The one lined up against the wall.
He hummed, husky and low. A dulcet timbre, singing the beginnings of an old lullaby. His hand came to rest at the wall separating you. A soft tap. A yearning caress.
Redacted sighed, letting the sleep take him over. They didn’t care, so long as you were near. They were content. They were home.

Biggest cough
Prompt: TeoLeo threesome with my sona… sorry…
TW: SEEEE X
Teo and Leon are from @14dayswithyou
“Are you alright sunfish?” Warm hands glide down Rosie’s thighs, parting them to make room for himself. The woman can only gargle a moan, her face red from arousal and embarrassment as she squirms— a meek moan escaping her as his head dips down, his tongue grazing her sensitive clit.
“N-Not down there,” she finally manages out, her slender fingers threading through brown locks to tug, her back arching as Leon’s lips close around. “Leon—“
“Why not down there, huh? Embarrassed?” Another voice muses behind her, Teo’s own strong arms hooking around the back of her knees to practically fold her in half. His cock, thick and deep inside her, stretches her folds, kissing her deep inside her gummy walls. “Don’t want him seeing how much of a slut you are? That you need two guys to do the job?” Rosie shudders as Teo nips at her neck, feeling him buck up to fuck her deeper.
“Oh god—“ Rosie whines, thighs trembling at the stimulation; a hot wet tongue working the outlines of her pussy and a big cock to make a mess of her insides.
Leon blows gently at her cunt, rolling his eyes at Teo’s remarks. “Would it kill you to be a little nicer?” He murmurs, his hand just barely pressing at Teo’s base, eliciting two different moans. He presses his tongue against the other man’s shaft before dragging it back up to Rosie’s clit, who lets out another whimper.
“I think she likes it,” Teo retorts, shifting with his eyes closed, making a show of bringing an arm over, still hooked around her knee, to wrap his hand around her throat. “Don’t you dollface?” Another thrust, Rosie was generous Teo was being patient enough, if he had started going already, Rosie was certain she wouldn’t have been able to hold on to her senses.
But that’s when Leon finally pulls back, aligning his own tip to the very same hole. “Don’t worry, sunfish,” he coos as he pecks her lips, Rosie faintly tasting herself on his. “We’ll make sure you do.”

no way you dropped the biggest river lore in the tags and moved on like it was nothing 😭 can i ask if this is still your intentions with him? bc it sounds like you changed your mind halfway 🤔
im ngl though i really enjoy how ren and river are similar and different to each other, but does that mean river would hurt his angel but leave our friends alone the same way ren would never hurt his angel but would unalive all of our friends? since they're suppose to be each other opposites. i really hope this makes sense 😬 my final question is what is ren doing on thursday? i want to go on a cute pier date again 🩷🌸
@secretkoa asked: and can i hear more about what unsent memory is suppose to be about or is that off limits? idk if i asked this in my previous question so ignore me if i did! thank yuo and remember to drink lots of water 🐸🌱
⌞♥⌝ For those who haven't seen the original post, I want to quickly clarify once more that while River was originally my OC, he's since been picked up and revamped by my friend Jesse/@unsentmemory!!
However, now that Jesse has stepped away from the yandere community, River's fate (and da fate of Unsent Memories) has kinda been put on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.
‼️ Massive Unsent Memories and River spoilers under the cut ‼️ CW for: mentions of gore, torture, mutilation, self-harm, etc.
With all of that being said, yes, Jesse's original intention for River was for him to be your standard "serial killer-turned-yandere once he accidentally catches feelings for his latest victim (Bunny)". The only main difference is that I originally planned for River to be a generic murderer first, whereas Jesse had him become a yandere right off the bat.
You also asked to know more about Unsent Memories, and I think giving a general synopsis(?) would be fine?? ^^ But basically... After getting involved in a car accident, Bunny wakes up with amnesia and gets tricked into thinking that this random guy — whom they've never met before — is their loving, supportive boyfriend named River. In turn, he convinces Bunny that staying in their shared home would be more beneficial than staying in the hospital as it might rekindle some old memories, he'd be able to take care of them, and it would be easier for them to recover at their own pace. But surprise!! River is actually a frequent patron at the Murderer Motel™ and now has trapped Bunny in his Torture Basement®!!! <3 He also maaaay or may not've been the one who hit them with Ren's car as well... ^^ Oopsie daisy hehe
And yeah!! Similar to what you've said, River was also supposed to share (somewhat of) a narrative foil with Ren!! I personally wanted them both to have similar, complimenting vibes with each other — all while having completely different/separate motives and incentives when it comes to the object of their affection. I'm glad to see it was conveyed well enough; even after Jesse's additions to River's characterisation :3 I know I already shared some examples in the previous tags, but I can share a few more:
Where Ren puts Angel's feelings and opinions above his own, River purposefully ignores Bunny's and does everything for his own personal benefit. Essentially, "I'm doing this for you" vs "I'm doing this for me".
While Ren would never dream about harming Angel in any capacity, he's perfectly happy to kidnap, extort, torture, and kill everyone else... In contrast to River, who's accustomed to torturing and brutalising others for his own twisted enjoyment and sees it as a way to show his interest in Bunny.
Kinda silly how Ren claims to be a freelance programmer (but is actually a hacker) and how River claims to work at a music shop (it's a coverup for his second torture chamber lmaoooo).
[CW: implications of SH] Ren is willing to go as far as mentally and physically hurting himself if Angel asks him to, whereas River is willing to physically mutilate Bunny if it means keeping them by his side. [end CW]
With that being said, you can assume that Ren is easily swayed by Angel's words, opinions, and emotions, whereas River can easily sway and manipulate Bunny due to his own feelings and emotions.
This is something I've actually mentioned before, but Ren always prefers things to be tidy, so he often cleans himself up after disposing of his victims. Compared to River, who casually wears the bloodstains with pride and blames it on getting a bit rough with someone else during a boxing match.
It's no secret that Ren is willing to change every aspect of himself to earn Angel's love, and River is willing to change his serial killer ways to return Bunny's love. Da power of friendship and repressed childhood memories gksdgjh T_T /silly
Ren pretends to be a Normal Guy© with tons of empathy to spare, whereas River pretends to be a Regular Person℗ with the heart of a himbo.
I could go on but you get da point lol
So, yeah!! This is essentially the vibes we had planned for River (and Unsent Memories) before Jesse stepped down /pos ^^ I feel like talking vaguely about UM is fine since River only has a small cameo in 14DWY — and I'm sure that if Jesse ever returns from war (/silly), they'll give River muuuuch more justice than I possibly can :3c
#Hopefully me yapping in this post will suffice for all the yammering I did in the other posts' tags lmaooooo#Ren: is that guy bothering you? I'll kill him >:(#River: someone is bothering you? more than me? what the fuck#Anyways!! Lords and gentlewomen..... I give you......#River ''you made me catch feelings as a child and I don't do feelings so I'm gonna hit you with a car'' Acosta 👏👏👏 /silly#There are direct parallels between 2017!Ren and River too if you squint#Also would this be 2024!River now?? Since UM is kinda homeless rn? /silly gshjgjs I just made myself sad T_T#Also; yeag... I agree that I could've worded my original tags better because it DOES seem like we changed our minds hjdgjsk#However my original intention [within da tags] was to talk about what River's characterisation would've been BEFORE Jesse stepped down#i.e. me yapping about what you could've expected from Unsent Memories since the game's fate is kinda.... ambiguous now ^^; /nm#But again; I don't want to force Jesse to come back to da yan community and write for a game they no longer have an interest in#It's not the end of the world if 14DWY doesn't get its sequel; and it's not like I'm going to stop working on its prequel either /gen#me: guys there's another yandere in 14DWY!!!#everyone else: omg it's Leon!!!#me: ......yeah... definitely... 😼#.......I yearn to :evilhehe:#💌 — answered.#💖 — 14 days with queue.#💖 — about ren.#🌊 — about river.#secretkoa#Very brief mentions of:#cw torture#cw self harm#cw gore

⛸️ Iceskating with You !
ᝰ REDACTED x FEM! reader .ᐟ✮⋆˙ (ft. the 14dwy cast)
SUMMARY ~ You decided to bring a certain hacker along for an impromptu group hangout at the ice skating rink, but he didn't exactly hit it off with half of your friends.
(REDACTED + (the others) belong to @14dayswithyou!)
[This story is written by ©daisiesaredazy, 2024 and in no way should be plagiarized or undergo any kind of use without my permission.]
(Throughout the fanfic, Ren’s true form/censored name, REDACTED, will be referred to as his nickname, Ren, because I prefer to use that as the placeholder for his real name lol)
(written in second person point of view)
❄️
༘⋆༄.°⋆ It was freezing outside, the frosty cold air biting on the tips of her ears. Yesterday, Y/N and her friends spontaneously decided to go ice skating over text. Of course, she couldn’t resist asking if her hacker boyfriend, Ren, could join, earning an annoyed text from Teo, complaining that they’d be too "lovey-dovey." Despite his protests, the group agreed.
“Ren, are you sure you’re not cold?” Y/N asked, her voice laced with concern as she glanced up at him. Her gaze softened when she noticed the pale snow drifting down onto his jet-black hair, dusting it like powdered sugar. He looked unaffected, a calm contrast to the winter chill.
Ren gave a small nod. “‘Told you I’d be fine, Angel. ‘Sides,” he added, pulling the hood of his jacket further over her head, shielding her face from the wind, “y’health ‘s more important.”
“But this is your jacket,” she argued, a hint of concern in her tone. “I’m already wearing one! You’ll get sick.”
Ren smirked, his snakebite piercings catching the light as his lips tugged upward. “Y’don’t have a hood. I’m more concerned ‘bout you, Angel. Y’might catch a cold.” His words mirrored hers playfully, and Y/N huffed, rolling her eyes but holding onto his arm, the tension easing as they walked together.
The two of them watched their friends, Jaehyun and Leon, who were causing a ruckus ahead of them. The pair were throwing snowballs at each other, their laughter filling the crisp air as they dodged and weaved in a mock battle. Elanor and Kiara were deep in conversation, planning their next sister vacation, while Violet had taken a mini pine tree with her, Teo—surprisingly—was nowhere to be seen.
“Where’s Teo?” Y/N murmured, furrowing her brows. She scanned the area, but the green-haired troublemaker was nowhere in sight.
Before she could voice her question again, a familiar voice interrupted her thoughts. “What, missed me, doll?” Teo appeared seemingly out of nowhere, walking casually behind them, his gaze fixed on the screen of his phone before shoving it back into his pocket. He seemed annoyed about something, probably yet another drama with one of the girls he had dated. His lips curved into a smirk at her concerned demeanor.
Y/N rolled her eyes at him, the usual playful exasperation flooding her expression. She didn’t even need to look at Ren to feel the subtle shift in his posture. His grip on her arm tightened just a little—protective, but still gentle.
She immediately regretted asking about Teo’s whereabouts.
Ren’s voice was quiet but laced with irritation as he spoke, his eyes narrowing in Teo’s direction. “Nah, y’not worth missing.”
Y/N shot him a pointed look. The words hung in the air for a moment, but before she could even speak, Ren’s tone softened. He blinked at her with wide, innocent eyes, putting on his best puppy-dog expression and pouting as he mimicked his old Haruko persona.
Y/N groaned and rubbed her temples. “Ren, please don’t…”
Teo scoffed loudly from behind them, his voice dripping with sarcasm. “If it isn’t buttercup trying to act all ‘cutesy’ again. Ugh, cringe.”
Y/N shot him an agitated look, and Teo leaned in, his smirk getting wider. “You’re just jealous ‘cause your angel definitely missed me.”
Ren’s eyes narrowed at the jab, his lips curling into a smug grin. “‘M jealous of how often y’forgotten the endless amounts of times y’been rejected by her. Maybe it’s t’save y’self from remembering how pathetic y’looked every single time.”
Teo’s brow twitched, clenching his fists. “At least I’m not a walking emo boy who looks like he time-traveled from 2010.”
Y/N raised an eyebrow and cut in to the heated argument with a comment. “Emos from 2010 were kinda hot, though…”
Ren’s eyes flicked to her, then back to Teo, and his grin grew. “Y’heard her.”
Teo scoffed loudly, rolling his eyes as if bored by the entire exchange. He shoved past Ren, his arm brushing against his in what was likely a calculated move. Without another word, he stalked off toward Jaehyun and Leon, the tension still thick in the air.
Ren’s hand didn’t leave Y/N’s arm, the warmth of his touch, a subtle reminder of his ever-present protectiveness.
Y/N couldn’t help but shake her head, caught somewhere between amusement and exasperation. Her friends were ridiculous. Absolutely ridiculous.
“So… y’like emos from 2010?” Ren asked, his voice an innocent hum of curiosity, though his lips curled with something far more mischievous.
“No.” Y/N snapped instantly, hiding her face in her hands, wishing for a hole to swallow her up.
“‘Kay, sure, definitely,” he replied sarcastically, a smug smile on his face. He had just uncovered her deepest secret.
Y/N groaned, feeling the heat creep into her cheeks. Great. Just great.
❄️
Upon arriving at the ice skating rink, the group was quick to rent their skates, eager to get started. Meanwhile, Ren had already made his way over to the counter and returned with two pairs of custom ice skates—one for himself, and one for Y/N. On the blade of his skates was engraved, “Always with You,” and on Y/N’s were little angel wings on both blades.
“Ren, seriously?” Y/N raised an eyebrow as she glanced down at the pristine skates in her hands. “You bought us ice skates?”
Ren, unfazed, simply shrugged with a small smirk. “Yeah. So that next time we go skating—just th’two of us, no idio—distractions, y’have y’own pair.” He then gently guided her toward a bench and knelt in front of her, starting to untie her shoes to put the skates on.
Y/N could tell from the way he said it that he wasn’t all that thrilled about spending the day with the rest of the group. “Mhm, sure. But at least try to act like you’re interested in them,” she requested, glancing over at the others who were already having fun and joking around.
Ren looked up at her, his soft gaze locking onto hers as he continued adjusting the laces. “Anything f’you,” he said, his tone quiet but filled with sincerity. The words, simple yet heartfelt, made her smile despite herself. He had that way of making her feel like she was the only person in the world that mattered at that moment.
As he finished lacing her skates, Y/N stood, testing her balance. She wobbled a little, but before she could even reach for the bench to steady herself, Ren was already there, his arms encircling her waist in a steady grip. “Easy there,” he murmured, pulling her in close, her hands instinctively gripping his jacket as he led them to the ice skating rink.
“I’m fine, Ren,” she muttered, though she didn’t exactly mind the support—especially considering how unsteady she felt getting onto the ice. “Agh, nevermind! Hold me!” She cried for help, as Ren chuckled and assisted her immediately.
Just then, Elanor, Kiara, and Violet appeared. Kiara practically dragged her clumsy sister, Elanor, onto the ice, while Violet skated over in a burst of energy. Elanor exclaimed with an adorable smile, “Y/N, we need to take a picture! Come on, just one!”
Violet snapped her fingers, pulling out her phone, and wobbly attaching it onto a selfie stick. “Yeah, c’mon, it’ll be cute! Ren, you’re in this too, right?”
Ren looked at them through half-lidded eyes, his grip tightening slightly around Y/N as if to anchor her to him. “Mm, ‘m good right here,” he muttered, his voice a little too low to be convincing.
“Ren—” Y/N started to protest, but before she could finish, he was already tightening his arms around her, pressing her into him more securely.
“Just a sec,” he said, his voice muffled as he nuzzled into the crook of her neck, his face hidden in the soft fabric of her sweater. He inhaled deeply, taking in her scent like it was the most important thing in the world to him.
"Ren, we’re taking a picture! You can’t be clinging to me like this," she exclaimed, trying (and failing) to squirm out of his embrace.
Ren smirked, pulling her even closer. “Like they say, take a picture, it’ll last longer. ‘Want this moment t’last forever,” he whispered, a teasing lilt to his voice.
“Ren, you adult baby, get off.” Y/N groaned, but the warmth of his body, his steady heartbeat against hers, and the way he refused to let go made it hard for her to be truly mad.
Kiara raised an eyebrow, before smiling for picture. While Violet, was already clicking away 0.5 selfies with her selfie stick. “Well, I guess this is the picture then,” she said, her tone amused, a smile tugged at the corner of her lips.
Elanor laughed, clearly not bothered by Ren’s possessiveness. “Hehe, it’s cute, honestly. Let loverboy have his moment in the backround.”
With that, Ren finally released his hold just slightly, pulling back enough for Y/N to catch her breath—though the sudden absence of his warmth made her feel oddly empty. As the picture was taken, he shot her a satisfied grin, his arms still loosely around her waist. “Y’not getting ‘way from me that easily, Angel.”
Y/N rolled her eyes but couldn’t suppress the small grin tugging at her lips. "I’m sure of it. You're impossible."
Ren just smiled. “‘N you’re adorable.”
“‘Ight, everyone! Group photo!” Leon exclaimed with a grin on the other side of the rink as Jae-Hyun handed his phone over to a moody green-haired man—who seemed very unamused.
As they all gathered together for a group picture on the ice, Y/N practically had to beg Ren to let go, which he reluctantly did.
“Y’sure, Angel? Don’t want y’to fall,” he questioned with concern, his blue eyes eyeing intently at her, challenging her.
“I’ll be fine! Just watch—”
Her confidence was short lived when she felt his arms slowly slip away.
“‘Kay, suit y’self.”
“Wait—!”
“‘M letting go.” He warned.
He released his grip around her waist, and she nearly fell right onto the ice. Instantly, she clung back onto him, and he softly chuckled. Y/N gave him a light smack to the arm.
“Ren!! You can’t just do that! You—should’ve warned me earlier!”
He hummed softly as he clung onto her again. His eyes glimmered with mischief. “‘N I did, didn’t I? ‘Told you that I’d let go.”
“Yeah!—but—”
“Okay, took the photo,” Teo muttered in annoyance as Y/N raised a brow. The others skated over to him, curiously staring at the phone.
“…Dude, my eyes are closed!” Violet complained.
“Mine’s are too,” Elanor pouted.
“It’s okay, you look cute either way, Princess,” Teo flirted, pinching Elanor’s cheek as she hopelessly looked at him with love in her eyes. Oh, how Y/N wished she could slap that idiot for toying with Elanor’s feelings… but something about the way he looked at her… seemed genuine.
“He totally has the hots for you!” Kiara whispered. She smirked at her sister, nudging her slightly as Elanor blushed. ‘She was way too good for him,’ Y/n thought, letting out a soft sigh of annoyance.
Y/N stared at the picture, and saw a horrendous photo of herself—nearly about to fall, eyes wide open, mouth agape, and foot in the air. She glared at Teo as she pointed it out. “Why do I look like that?! You didn’t even tell us you were taking it!”
Teo scoffed. “Whatever. Not my problem you look like that.”
Ren yanked the phone from Teo, deleting the picture, and handed the phone back with narrowed eyes and a fake smile.
“Retake it.”
Begrudgingly, Teo retook the picture, but not without muttering negative words. Shortly after, Teo suddenly disappeared—probably because things weren’t going quite his way—Leon quickly went on a mini search mission. He found Teo off to the side, moping like a kid who hadn’t gotten his way at the candy store. Leon somehow managed to talk him back into staying with the group, which he hesitantly agreed.
Unfortunately, for Y/N, the struggle wasn’t over yet. She was still clinging to the metal handrail, trying (and struggling) to find her balance on the ice. Ren was close beside her, his warm presence offering both support and comfort as he held her other hand.
"Ugh, I used to do this all the time when I was a kid! I swear, I could even do twirls and stuff!" she groaned in frustration, her skates wobbling beneath her.
Ren chuckled softly, his voice dripping with teasing affection. "’M sure y’could, Angel. No doubt ‘bout it."
Y/N shot him a sideways glance, not quite convinced but grateful for his reassurance. Violet skated past them effortlessly, her mini pine tree—affectionately named “Jerry”—still tucked safely in her arms.
"Aw, don’t worry, bhe! You’ve got this! Just gotta practice the movements, and you'll be back to twirling in no time, just like Jerry over here!" Violet called over her shoulder with a bright smile, before skating away.
Ren and Y/N exchanged a glance, both eyebrows raised in mild concern. Ren muttered under his breath, “Twirling? ‘S she good? That’s a tree.” Y/n chuckled nervously. trying to steady herself against the railing. “T—that’s Vi for you!”
Ren squeezed her hand tighter, sensing she was on the verge of losing her balance once more. “Careful, remember what I told you? Y’gotta waddle like a baby penguin, cutie.” mentions the raven headed man as you let out a soft laugh at his silly reminder.
Y/N caught sight of Kiara and Elanor, who were in the midst of a chaotic sisterly bonding session. Kiara was trying her best to keep her sibling from falling, but with Elanor's uncoordinated, deer-like movements, the two of them seemed locked in an endless battle against gravity.
"No, Norie! One foot in front of the other! Stop being so stiff!" Kiara was practically pleading.
"I—I can't! This is too hard—Wah!" Elanor’s voice cut off as she slipped, flailing in every direction to steady herself unsuccessfully before she falls. But just as quickly, a familiar green-haired figure appeared, catching her effortlessly before she could hit the ground. It was Teo, his grin smug as ever.
Y/N couldn’t help but gasp at the scene. It was like something out of a drama, but when she realized it was Teo who had caught Elanor, her excitement quickly turned into mild discomfort. She cringed and turned away, focusing on the ice beneath her instead.
Ren noticed her shift in mood and raised an eyebrow. "What, ‘don’t think they’re suited f’each other?"
Reluctantly, Y/N shrugged, still watching Teo and Elanor as Kiara helped her sister regain her footing. "I dunno… it’s cute, but Teo—he’s always had this thing about messing around. I just don’t want him hurting El’s feelings."
Ren’s expression darkened for a brief moment, his gaze narrowing at Teo and Elanor before turning back to Y/N. He exhaled slowly, clearly uninterested in getting caught up in their drama. "Mhm. Got it…” before he mumbled under his breath inaudibly “‘don’t really care ‘bout them honestly."
He shifted his focus back to her. his tone softening. "Think y’got enough practice with the handrails now, Angel. Let’s see what y’can do without 'em." He extended his hand toward her, and Y/N hesitated for a moment before placing her shaking hand into his. The warmth of his grip was steadying, grounding her in a way that made her feel safer.
With a gentle tug, Ren led her forward, skating backwards to guide her along the ice. "Doin’ great, Angel. Keep going," he encouraged, his deep voice full of confidence that seemed to seep into her own determination.
Her nerves calmed a little as his praise fueled her resolve. Slowly but surely, she took one shaky step after another, feeling the ice beneath her as she gained more control. She was far from graceful, but with Ren’s guidance, she was starting to feel like she might actually make it.
"That's it,” Ren praised. A smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he observed her movements. "y’doin’ awesome."
❄️
Laughter erupted from the group as everyone’s energy practically bounced off the ice. Y/n, after plenty of trial and error—and lots of practice with Ren—was finally getting the hang of skating. Her movements were becoming smoother, and the ice didn’t feel so treacherous anymore.
She skated over to Leon, grinning. “I can finally balance on the ice!”
“Congrats, darl'!” Leon exclaimed, his eyes lighting up with pride. “Knew you could do it! Never doubted ya!” He gave her a friendly pat on the back. But before she could even bask in the victory, Ren appeared, as expected, right behind her. He slid in with a shadow casted over his features, his hand finding her waist as he planted his head on top of hers, glaring over her shoulder at Leon.
“…Ren,” she said, trying to push him off gently, though her voice was tinged with frustration.
Ren uttered praises. “Y’already that independent? Huh, y’really are that amazing, Angel.”
She rolled her eyes, even as a fond smile tugged at her lips. “Okay, thanks—“
“Stay w’me, love.” His voice was soft, but there was an undeniable weight to his words. He kissed her lips, his arms tightened around her, and for a moment, Y/N felt the temptation to just give in.
But then, she reminded herself why she’d wanted a break in the first place. “Go talk to Jae-hyun and Teo. I’m just gonna catch up with Leon for a bit—”
“No.” Ren cut her off, his tone firm, almost stubborn. “I’m stayin’ w’you.”
Y/n huffed in exasperation, trying, but failing, to pry him off her. He was practically glued to her, like an accessory—scarf, hat, jacket, and all. No escape. He would find a way to be on her one way or another.
“Ren—!” She tried again, half-laughing in frustration.
“I only came here f’you,” he muttered into her hair, sounding almost desperate. “Nobody else matters. Don’ care ‘bout anyone else but you.”
“Ren.” Her tone was more pleading this time, but she could already tell he wasn’t going to budge.
“Yes, Angel?” He asked innocently, as if he didn’t know exactly what she was trying to do.
She gazed up at him, wanting to cup his face and kiss him, she went against the urge. He needed to learn how to socialize properly with others. “Go talk to them. At least try to.”
Ren looked at her, his expression softening slightly, though he didn’t seem convinced. Then his protective nature kicked in again, and his jealousness flared up.
“‘Can’t do it, Angel. ‘M afraid I failed already.” His voice was low, almost defeated as he nuzzled into her hair, and she groaned in frustration.
Leon, standing nearby with crossed arms, finally spoke up, his voice carrying a hint of concern. “Aye, Ron, mate. If you wanna go talk to my buddies, I can come with—”
Ren immediately shot Leon a sharp glare, cutting him off before the offer could even finish. “No thanks.”
Y/n glanced back and forth between the two men, a mix of amusement and exasperation on her face. Sighing, she gently nudged Ren toward Teo and Jae-hyun, who were laughing and joking on the other side of the rink.
“If you behave,” she whispered with a sly grin, “I’ll spend the entire next week with you—just the two of us.”
Ren’s eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, he hesitated. But then, as if the words were magic, he immediately skated off in the direction of Teo and Jae-hyun, leaving Y/N standing there triumphant.
“Ahah, got him.” She couldn’t help but laugh to herself as she observed Ren join the other two.
Leon raised an eyebrow as he observed the exchange. “Sunfish, is he always that clingy with you? I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s kinda sweet, but it’s also kinda… concerning.”
The h/c girl shrugged casually, though there was a slight flush on her cheeks. “He’s just very protective. He’s always looking out for me, making sure I don’t get hurt or anything.”
Leon gave her a skeptical look but nodded slowly. “I mean, I get it! But… he’s like a shadow.”
She laughed and shook her head. “Like I said, he’s just looking out for me. But he’ll get used to them… eventually.” She glanced over at Ren again, who was now engaged in some sort of heated discussion with Teo.
“Anyways,” Leon said, clearly trying to change the subject, “you still had to finish your discussion from last week, remember?”
She grinned. “Yep! I’ll tell you allll about it.”
The two of them skated leisurely around the rink, catching up like they always had. The conversation flowed easily, covering everything from family updates to recent events and hobbies.
But just as they were beginning to settle into the rhythm of their chat, a loud voice cut through the air, followed by a familiar heated argument.
“Your hairline’s gonna start receding ‘cause of all that bleach you put in your hair before, buttercup.” Teo taunted, a smug grin on his face.
Ren’s eyes narrowed dangerously, his voice cold and venomous. “Oh, really? ‘Least I’m not out here lookin’ like I stuck my head in a paint bucket, tryin’ t’look hot but ended up lookin’ like a neon green highlighter.” He shot Teo a scathing look. “Y’should be more worried about how much product y’using—y’about one bad move ‘way from y’scalp filing a lawsuit. Product buildup ‘s not cute.”
Teo’s face flushed, and he opened his mouth to retort, but Jae-hyun quickly stepped in, hands raised in a peacekeeper’s gesture.
“Dudes! You need to stop! Say, let’s make a TakTik!” Jae-hyun suggested enthusiastically.
Y/n shook her head with a half-amused, half-exasperated smile. Ren really doesn’t hold back, does he? You were glad to see that he was being his true self now.
The duo immediately skated over to the arguing males, who proceeded to throw insults at each other, while Jae-hyun set up his phone on the iron handrail, filming a dance with the chaos unfolding in the background.
Leon and Y/n exchanged a look, then turned back to the chaotic scene before them, both sighing in unison.
❄️
After finally managing to pull the two males apart—amidst an impressive amount of bickering and a disoriented Jae-hyun, who had somehow ended up tangled in his own scarf—(nobody knows how), Y/N made a mental note to never, ever leave her hacker boyfriend alone with Teo ever again.
As they exited the rink, Ren nuzzled her from behind, his arms wrapped around her waist as he practically dragged her along the pavement.
“‘Missed you s’much, Angel,” he mumbled, his voice thick with affection, clearly ignoring how clumsy she was trying to walk in her skates.
“Mhm, yeah. Tell me about it,” Y/n replied, her tone unamused but carrying a hint of annoyance. She was still adjusting to the sensation of her skates on solid ground, her legs feeling like jelly.
“Please, don’t do that next time. I’m begging you,” she continued, turning slightly to glance up at him, her voice softening. “I swear, if you say something even remotely morbid or rude to any of my friends again, I will not be happy.”
Ren immediately straightened up, his expression a mixture of guilt and earnestness. “Right, ‘m sorry, ‘won’t happen again, love.” He nodded, head lowered, completely giving in to her request. His voice softened, full of warmth. “I’ll do anything f’you, Angel.”
She sighed, shaking her head but smiling nonetheless. The h/c female knew Ren was protective, but sometimes, his protectiveness veered a little too far into clingy. Not that she minded too much.
As they walked, her eyes caught sight of a few familiar faces near the entrance, standing outside with steaming cups of hot chocolate in their hands. Violet, Kiara, and Elanor waved at her as they saw the pair approaching.
“Hey! Finally out of there?” Violet called with a grin, the warmth from her drink visible in the chilly air.
“Yeah, thank goodness,” Y/N let out a sigh of relief, flashing a tired but amused smile. “Ren and Teo nearly started World War III in there.”
Ren let out a sigh, though he shot Teo a pointed look from the distance. “‘Wasn’t startin’ anything. He started it.”
Kiara chuckled, handing Y/N and Ren a cup of hot chocolate. “Here. Maybe this will help calm you guys down.”
Thanks,” Y/N muttered gratefully, taking the warm cup. She glanced over at Ren, her lips curving into a soft smile. “So, what’s next? You planning on causing more trouble, or are we actually gonna enjoy the night now?”
Ren smirked, pulling her a little closer with his arm around her shoulders. “‘M fine as long as I get t’be with you, Angel. ‘S long as there’s no more hair drama and Teo, ‘m happy as can be.”
With a sigh, Y/N took a sip of her hot chocolate, the warm, rich sweetness doing its job of relaxing her after the chaos of the evening. Ren’s arm felt solid around her, and she was grateful for the comfort, even if his clinginess could be a little overwhelming at times.
“You know,” she broke the silence, glancing up at him with a half-amused look, “sometimes I wonder if you’re more trouble than the rest of them combined.”
Ren raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a teasing grin. “Only when y’not around, love.”
She only rolled her eyes, but the smile tugging at her lips betrayed her. She glanced back at the group, who had finally settled down. Jae-hyun was filming something ridiculous with Teo and Leon, their earlier arguments long forgotten in the wake of new shenanigans.
Violet, Kiara, and Elanor stood nearby, each holding a hot chocolate, chatting and laughing. It felt like everything had come full circle—the chaos of earlier fading into a quiet, easy warmth.
“Ready t’head home?" Ren asked, noticing the soft yawn that escaped Y/N’s lips.
"Yeah, I think it's about time! And honestly, I'm freezing," she admitted, shivering slightly.
Ren leaned in closer, wrapping his arms around her to pull her in. "’M gonna help keep you nice and toasty f’the next week. After all, y’promised that if I talked to those two… well, you'd spend the whole week w’me."
"Oh, right. I did say that, didn't I?"
Ren chuckled, but Y/N’s attention shifted to the side. Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Elanor and Teo with their arms wrapped around each other. A soft smile tugged at her lips as her gaze met Ren’s, her eyes meeting his with a quiet understanding.
“…I think I’d like that.”
❄️
On the walk back to Y/N’s apartment, Ren held her hand, warming it up by blowing on it and kissing her knuckles. She let out a soft puff of laughter.
“Ren, what are you doing?”
“Nothin’. Just wanted t’kiss y’cute hands,” he teased.
Ren paused, before he smirked, a joking look on his handsome face. “‘Just got an intrusive thought n’ thought I’d share. Don’t y’think ice skates would make a good mvrder weapo—”
“No.”

Leon Birthday Post
[Leon belongs to @14dayswithyou]
Ships in the night
Messages in a bottle, one, two, and ten
He wrote and rewrote, again and again
Then sent them dwindling across the shore,
To that love long lost, to the days of yore
***
Salty water splashed across your face. Sailing, rowing, further into this endless abyss. There, a few light years away, he sat, dipping his feet in the shallow mist of the Milky Way.
You caught a shooting star and kissed it. Closing your eyes and wishing upon its dull shine.
I want him to be Happy
With a gentle expression you watched him from the bow, as your vessel groaned and turned around.
Such was the fate of the sun and the moon.
Destined to forever roam the universe.
Fleeting ships in the night
***
You nervously checked your hair through the front camera on the screen, adjusting the bangs across your forehead once again.
Puffing out a breath, you scowled, strangely miffed at that cowlick that just wouldn’t stop sticking out.
Your eyes flitted around the expanse of your room. The lighting was dim, the music mellow, the cake was ready, and the candles—
Wait— the candles—
Holy fudgesicles
You let out an exasperated groan, roughly scavenging under your sheets, for the pack of orange candles, which was apparently lost now, well done Angel, just another splendid example of how useless you can be and— Your fingers closed around the slim box. You were about to let out a gleeful shout of, “AHA!” when—
*brring* *brrrring*
*beeeeep* *click*
Your eyes widened with mute horror when an amused chuckle paired with a low whistle fell on your—now red tipped—ears. All your efforts went up in smoke, the moment you realized that your ass was pointed towards the screen, and your bestfriend was currently getting an eyeful of it.
“Damn Darl, is that my cake right there? Cause I don’t really mind…”
Another snicker, like sultry teasing tendrils tickled up your spine and you bit your lip, wishing for the sheets to swallow you whole.
Straightening up, you hastily salvaged your mess of a bed, and hair, turning around with an expression you could only hope was a sheepish smile.
Is it too much to ask for one single perfect day—
Your eyes met. Topaz ones gleamed back at you like embers of soleil shining through his gaze. So warm and…
and…
You swallowed, managing a weak “Hi”, suddenly very shy to look at the face of the person, that you were used to texting every passing minute of the day.
“Hey sunfish!” Leon husked, a playful murmur. He waved his fingers, beads of his bracelet twinkled as if chiming a greeting at you. His hair was beautifully tousled, head tilted to the side, mischief still lingering on his face, as he exhaled, watching you with fondness and open adoration.
A beat of silence and he smirked, which in turn made you narrow your eyes at the brunet.
“Soooo, about that cake—“
“Hush!”
“But Darl—“
“Nuh uh!!”
“Atleast let me finish Sunfish—“
“NOT A PEEP!!!”
Realizing he was at a stalemate, he raised his hands as a gesture of surrender, rolling his eyes in cheeky exasperation.
“Alright! so cruel of you though, not humoring me even on my birthday”
“It's not your birthday yet, and I’m almost afraid of what you’ll get up to, if I gave you that much power.” You retorted, barely managing to suppress that grin that never seemed to leave you in his presence.
“Who said I need power? I’m a simple man, what if all I need is a teeny twiny wish?” He singsonged, leaning in towards the camera, flashing all his teeth in a Cheshire grin. Suspiciously sweet.
“—And what would that wish entail? Surely, there are strings attached…” You drawled, twisting the sheets between your fingers in a habitual fidget.
“Love the confidence in me Darl, 10/10—“
“Oh quiet…I haven’t forgotten the last time you asked for a favor and I ended up babysitting both Teo and Jae, just so you can hop off to play volley with your friends”
“Hardly a favor—“
You raised a brow, “While they were squabbling? and Teo was in one of his moods again…”
He sputtered, features melting into a slightly guilty pout, “When you put it like that, it makes me sound bad…”
“Babe, I’m not even at the bad part yet—“ You laughed, resisting the urge to squish his cheeks. Why did he have to look so cute?
He cringed and let his head thud back at the wall, briefly disappearing from the screen. You could hear his soft groan paired with a barely audible mumble, that you had to strain to listen to, “Spend the night with me”
“Huh?”
Did you hear that correctly?
“I said,” he popped his head back into the screen, running a hand through his hair in a nervous tic, “…spend the night with me, here, on the call.”
You paused, mouth opening and closing like a fish gaping outside water, chewing, processing his words.
Mistaking your silence as hesitation, Leon pressed, looking intently at your face, forcing you into an eye contact, “It’s my Birthday afterall” he shrugged, downplaying the surge of emotions he was feeling tonight.
He waited, nibbling the inside of his cheeks. The sterile smell of the hospital and the late hour, washed over him like a heavy presence. Something he desperately didn’t want to be alone with. For once, he wanted to be the centre of your attention.
Tonight, he wanted to be selfish. Just tonight.
You cleared your throat, snapping out of your daze, and gave him a slow jerky nod, “Yeah…yeah. What are friends for”
He smiled, yet it didn’t reach his eyes. Didn’t make his gaze light up with joy like it always did around you. The sharp glare of the bright lights in the hospital visiting room, highlighted the dark circles under his eyes, and the subtle droop of his brow.
You pulled the blanket over your feet, and eyed his thin layers with disapproval. It was cold tonight. Following your line of sight, he sighed, promptly grabbing a jumper from his bag and pulling it over his head, before you could nag him about it.
It was nearly 12:00 am now. You made an excuse, and paused the call to prepare the cake with the candles. Somehow your bright spirits from earlier had fizzled into a dull buzz.
It wasn’t like you hadn’t spent the whole night talking to Leon before. Sometimes you wouldn’t even notice the sun creeping up, being so engrossed in silly conversations with your friend.
But something about the way he said it, like a demand, with notes of vulnerability playing under his skillful cheery pretense, felt like there was more to it.
Was it just you, or did he look disappointed with your answer…
The anxious part in you, trumpeted the fact that maybe he has his own secrets. And maybe he doesn’t see you as a good friend.
Setting the cake up on a tray, you forced a smile.
Tonight’s about Him.
And your insecurities aren’t invited.
***
Friends
What does the word mean?
Is it a good scale to measure the amount of care you have for a person?
Leon doubted it. For him, there wasn’t a single word in his vocabulary that could measure the feelings he held for you.
How could he reduce it to a number, a title, when he himself had lost count ages ago.
Yet it stung, whenever you called him that. It felt like he had played all the roles he had to play in your life, and everything he would do from henceforth will all add up and amount to this one meager, mediocre word— Friend.
So unimportant. One of many. Replaceable.
He sat up straighter, wiping a hand over his face. He was tired. Of pretending, of running in circles, of never getting to say the words that lingered at the tip of his tongue—
*Beeeep* *Click*
“Heyyy I’m back” You chirped, excitedly holding something behind your back, like a small mischievous cat.
He gulped, swallowing the feelings that wedged into his throat like a lump. The clock struck twelve. His birthday was here.
When you held up the cake giddily towards the screen, the orange hue from the lit candles coloring your cheeks, he couldn’t help but discreetly take a quick screenshot.
“Quick blow the candles!!”
He chuckled, making a show of “blowing” the candles, while you clapped and sang the birthday song for him.
“Happy Birthday to dearest Leon! Happy birthdayyy to you!” You looked up at him, nostalgic tears shining in your eyes.
“This is so sweet. Thank you Darl” He murmured, overcome with a sudden epiphany.
…love them?
I love them
“Make a wish”
“Alright, but I won’t tell you—“
“Hey i wasn’t gonna ask—“
“You were about to…I can see it on your face”
I want them to be Happy

Worn out letters with washed black ink
Bottles after bottles at the ocean’s brink
You sat and perused the mysterious tome
The words singing a forgotten tune
Of a lover’s song that surpassed all time
And plucked at your heart with its melancholy rhyme

𝙰𝚗𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚂𝚕𝚎𝚎𝚙𝚕𝚎𝚜𝚜 𝙽𝚒𝚐𝚑𝚝
Synopsis: The same routine for complete opposites. Many don't understand how both get along. Though, one still wonders why they put up with them. CW: Drunkness, Suggestive Actions & Language
Characters: Jae / Leon / Ren / Teo @14dayswithyou x Maria G.
The music blares as crowds of people enjoy the nightclub. It's the weekend to gather University students to wind down or let loose with booze. The bustling bar is active, and two students have minor bickering.
Jae sighs as watching a drunken Teo downing another shot. "Teo, please stop. You have gone over your limit. I called her over to pick you up." When he warns him, the surfer jumps at the party animal glaring at him. "Fuck~! You had to call the buzzkill? Ugh, she's gonna scold me for this!" He groans, swirling the last drops of the booze.
Looking through the glass, he smirks and laughs at the swirled version of the lady. "Buzzkill? Be glad I put up with you, Cabron!" Maria scoffs, tapping her foot at him. Due to the call, she came out with her comfortable hoodie and stockings with sneakers.
Teodore whistles at her appearance and waits for another shot. "Aww, you hurried for me? Baby, you do care about me." Snickering, he looks away from her eye roll. Not having to turn, he knows they are in front of him to take away his drink. "Stand up. I want to see you walk in a straight line." Before he can complain, he gets stopped by her finger on his lips. Grumbling, he brushes his hair back and listens to her words.
Both watch how he manages the first steps with perfection. But Jae had to help him upon a stumble as Maria sighed. "I fucking nailed it, Baby. You can go back to your habitat." Patting her head, he smirks and turns back to his stool.
Though, he does mess up to have her aid him to stand. It looks like she'll need help, but she does grab nearby people's attention by sweeping him off his feet. Teo isn't fazed and whistles at the view.
“What nice scenery~." He smirks, feet dangling. Maria snickers and turns to a stunned Jae. "I'll take it from here. Be careful, dude!" She smiles and turns with Teodore carried like a bag of rice. People let her pass, marveling at the five-foot girl hauling a six-foot guy. Both shiver at the cool beach breeze and head to Maria's car. They argue about who gets the driver's seat, but she wins by making him sit in the passenger. The driver stays silent as the drunken sticks his head out for the sea breeze.
Within minutes, Maria sighs at parking at her apartment complex. “Come on. Unless you want another look at my peach.” Joking, she flips him off at his sparkled eyes. “Can you?” But he does shut up at sensing her anger and annoyance rising to a high level. Unbuckling, he steps out of her car and uses her shoulder to lean in. As heading to the elevator, he pulls her closer and takes in her scent. “Hehe, you smell like strawberries.” Whispering slurry to her ear, he smiles at her red ear tips.
Entering in, the Casanova has fun at her expressions. His light touches make her weak in the knees holding her hips. When the chime rings, Maria pulls away to watch him clasp the rails for support. “Baby…Come here.” He frowns, reaching out to her. “Nope! You did so well back at the club.” Giggling, she grins and watches him walk like a newborn calf. After like a while, Teo groans at landing on her plush couch. His eyes scan her star and witch's aesthetic decoration. But he keeps his sight of her getting water and pills for him. “Drink the water. Unless you like getting the headache in the morning.”
Sitting up, he downs the glass of water and displays himself in front of her. Humming, he pats his thigh and smiles. “You know, I should thank you for bringing me here. What do you think?” Like their routine, they begin to quarrel about his tactics against her. Maria will turn him down and scold his behavior. And Teo will go to the guestroom and pass out. “Okay, I'll take it.”
She hums, doing her ponytail. His eyes widen at her answer, and he watches her sit on his thigh. Thinking he has the green light, he places his hand on her thigh but screams at feeling a pinch. “I didn't finish. I will trace your tattoos, and that's it. I know how much you love PDA~.” Taunting, she smirks and begins her quest.
Disappointed, he shows a pout and sighs at seeing her black and white nails scrap his ink. It's silent between the two, while the room is dim with a moon lamp. Tapping his foot, his free hand goes to rest on her lower back and does circles. “Say… Why did you pick me up? Leon could've done it.” He questions her reflection on the TV. She halts her movement and tilts her head at him. “I'm your Best Friend, Cabron. You said it before. I don't know how, but I'm willing to deal with your ass.” Looking at him, she smiles and returns to her task. In seconds, she squeaks at getting pinned on her cushions.
Her face brightens as he towers over her and licks his lips. His hand goes to tilt her chin and closes in. “Aww, what sweet words. Now I do have to reward you. Just stay pretty and let me do the work.” His voice deepens and lowers to her neck. His warm breath makes her body tingle with his peck. Dipping his head further, he misses a glint in her eyes. Feeling her leg move up, he adjusts and yells at a sudden sting.
“Fu-Wait! Stop it! Shit!!! Aahhh! MARIA, DROP IT!!!” He growls and barks. As for her, she continues to hit his side with her sandal. Her face is puffy with flaring eyes. “TEODORE ALVARADO!!!! I’M GONNA THROW YOU INTO THE SEA, CABRON!!!” Her cursing gets jumbled with her Spanish. When ten minutes passed, she was catching her breath as he kept her in a bear hug.
“Truce?” He questions, hissing at the burning sting. Seeing her nod and drop the weapon, he kisses her head and hums. “Should I be lucky you didn't punch me?” “Yes.” He chuckles at her fast reply and places her next to him. “You can go ahead. I know where the room is.” Closing his eyes, he hears her footsteps fading. “Maria?” Calling out, he peeks and grins. “No goodnight kiss?” Seeing her roll her eyes, she comes back to lean to his level.
He grins, turning to feel her lips close to the corner of his. Both share a glare and go on about the night. Maria stays inside her gaming room for a match, and Teo crashes into her neat guestroom. Separated, the night flashes to the morning. A prickly morning bed hair stands out on the kitchen island. His face is hidden in his crossed arms, and he groans loudly. "I thought you to be used to it by now." Maria chimes, setting a bowl and pills in front of him.
His grey eye peeks at her and smiles. "Hmm, I like this. You can make me breakfast at my beach house." Tilting at the soup's appearance, he takes a sip to take the painkillers. "Bitch, I like my sleep more than making you breakfast. And my innocent ears would be tainted by hearing whoever you brought back." Maria sits across, biting into a sweet bread. While eating and bickering, they hear a knock at her front door.
With a small horseplay fight, a neutral Leon laughs at a chokehold Teo. "I came to pick him up. I could've done it, Maria." He smiles, aiding him to escape her hold. She shrugs and is quick to embrace her childhood friend. Both radiate such affection that makes Teo gag. "Okay, we should go back to my car. Thanks for a great night, babe." He leans to peck her but scoffs at her hand, halting him.
"You didn't do anything, right?" Leon looks at Teo. The casanova hums and rests on the window. "Don't worry, Leo. She knows how to beat me up...She's pretty strong." Admitting, he ignores Leon laughing at his words. Both stay silent until arriving back at the club.
Leon pats his back and smiles. "Hey, I'm glad you both are getting along well. She may be harsh, but she does care about you. Believe it or not, she does have friends like you." Waving goodbye, Teo shakes his head and enters.
Checking his phone, he sends a small text to Maria and prepares to take off. Later at the bookstore, Maria organizes the books and spots the two tall heights. "Teo, don't fight in here. Oh, Ren? Do you need help again?" She nudges the green-tip dye hair to stop.
The guys make a small truce until Teo brings her to kiss her nape. She gasps and turns to pinch his cheeks. With her obliviousness, she missed the pink aesthetic displaying jealousy. "I know, I know, I'll stop. Free for drinks tonight? Gotta repay you with free dinner."
Her eyes sparkle, and she nods at him. But her attention goes back to helping the regular visitor. Watching them go to the next shelves, Teo peeks through and scowls.
If he can't get to her, he won't allow a nobody to take advantage of her. Like it or not, he got used to her personality and caring nature. Ugh, he can't let Leon know of it.
