@montgomery-cannon reacted for a starter !!
He liked to think of himself as charismatic in his own way. He always had to explain away bad behavior to the academy instructors in the past. But Alecta was always the talker. She was always sharp and to the point. Her cuts were clean; one could argue smooth because of her edge. He'd seen Monty at the bar in passing and he'd wandered in. "I'm sure you've heard about our little career pack by now, but I can tell you, Alecta and I are the strongest," Cyril smirked, leaning his arm onto the bar. Alecta might kill him if she figured out where he was.

Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184: Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1135
(By Sten Hugo Hiller - 627184)
Mountain Climbing Mecha Combat #1135
Brought to you by ANN
Highlighting the July 3353 Front Line Fight
As usual between battleday two and three, the Gaming authorities held an event where the contestants just had to bring one combat worthy line to the arena.
For me, the question was more what Mechs to bring than wether I had some. Consulting with my chief Tech, Bruno, answered some questions, but one still had to prioritize.
In the end, a line consisting of three Humbabas, backed by a pair of Notos was selected.
Perhaps not the best choice available, but it would give me both high Speed and good Precision. The weapon loadout was weighted toward Lasers, which meant they would deliver less damage compared to using Missiles/Flamers, but as the Lasers currently were way faster than the other weapon types, the choice seemed obvious to me.
The crew that had held a spot were relieved, and we managed to get a spot on the slopes.
As the scramble started the top was held by Roman Himmelhan of the Death`s Brethren, and my probes were smashed by his formation.
While I contemplated making some changes and see if he could be displaced, we were blown back to the foothills by Ken Fuchs of the Northwind Dragons. After a couple attacks we were back on the slopes, and meanwhile Fuchs had grabbed the top.
Try as best we could, there was no budging him, and when the light flashed he was still holding the top.
I had managed to get some footage from the other tops as we waited for repairs, and knew those who had placed highest this time was:
Div 1 316+ (32 Commanders): Dexter Berry, Warlock (1m,6s)
2: Bernard Johnson
3: Sal Vezzosi Jr
4: Ben Rail
5: Terry Cole
6: Mike Wach
7: Gary Muenzel
8: Jaime Beltran
9: Fabio Favaro
10: Stuart Myshrall
Div 2 -315 (25 Commanders): Stroker Spot, Mercenary (2m,56s)
Div 3 -199 (21 Commanders): Ken Fuchs, Northwind Dragons (6m,41s)
Div 4 -163 (26 Commanders): Brian Vaughan, T.B. BlackWatch (8m,41s)
Div 5 -133 (25 Commanders): Matthew Homewood, Ronins (17m,56s)
Div 6 -95 (34 Commanders): Abe Yap, Diamond Dragons (6h,28m)
Div 7 -73 (23 Commanders): Ann Kristin Hiller, Sacrificial Lambs (3m,13s)
Div 8 -55 (18 Commanders): Rich Gibas, Arctic Warfare Bandits (Frigis)(7h,27m)
Div 9 -34 (13 Commanders): Nana Is_Angry (9h,14m)
Div 10 -22 (22 Commanders): Tommy Pepper, Mad Scientist 1 (4m,15s)
Div 11 -14 (17 Commanders): Mathew Kingsbury, Horsemen Squadron (2d,21h)
Total Contestants: 256
Total medals claimed: 163 (of 165 possible)
Compared to the last pre-war event, the number of contestants rose by Ninety-Nine.
But even this influx could not guarantee all the prizes being claimed. For some reason the last two Bronzes on K8 ended unclaimed and were returned for resmelting.
The last half-hour saw seven Golds changing hands at least once, while the four other Golds all were held for at least two hours. One of them was in fact held for more than two days.
Extremely strong winners there, or lack of fighting due to exhaustion from the war? Hard to say, but one might make assumptions from looking at the number of medals held for more than 30 minutes in this event:
.............Silvers......Bronzes
Div 1 ....0 of 4.........7 of 10
Div 2 ....1 of 4.........7 of 10
Div 3 ....2 of 4.........8 of 10
Div 4 ....0 of 4.........6 of 10
Div 5 ....3 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 6 ....3 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 7 ....2 of 4.........9 of 10
Div 8 ....4 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 9 ....4 of 4.........8 of 8
Div 10 ..3 of 4.......10 of 10
Div 11 ..3 of 4.........7 of 10
The only top that did not have at least some medal attacks was K8, while both Mount Olympus and K4 saw most of the medals change hands. The action on the rest of the tops varied from just the Gold struggle on K10 to pretty tough fighting on K2.
None of the clans managed to claim more than one win. Dexter Berry from the Warlock on Mount Olympus was the sole repeat winner this time, and we had an unaligned winner as well; Nana Is_Angry on K11.
Upcoming event: Point Mech Panic
The classic end of the war tournament.
Hopefully all Commanders can manage to get at least one Mech combat worthy and place it in the Point Mech position (uppermost, rightmost).
Here multidamaging (Fork, Splash, Trample and Wide Fork) have no effect, while multiples, Crit, Slow and Freeze will be more important than ever. Of course, having a high Precision and high Speed is required to get the first shots off and have them land telling blows.
Event ends November 26 between 1400 and 1430 New York Time
