“Path to Brooklyn”, Manu Verneuil, Hamburg/Germany 2023, 120x120cm (47.25 inch/square), acrylic, mixedmedia, color scheme red/silver with subject in silver on canvas 🟢
A figurative interpretation and execution of the “Brooklyn Bridge”, which has a distinct feel and structure, luminous, haunting and expressive.
One of the buildings that stand for New York and symbolize this city. In these times, the whole world is looking at America. In this respect, this picture also stands for the good America.
It’s also a special tribute to #KamalaHarris and #TimWalz and for the campaign of the good guys! #harriswalz2024
The Brooklyn Bridge was built from 1869 to 1883, finally opening in May 1883. At the time, it was the longest steel suspension bridge in the world.
For quite a while, the Brooklyn Bridge was even the only connection between Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Fun fact; After its opening, rumors arose about its stability. There was speculation that it would collapse.
To prove otherwise, circus man P.T. Barnum had 21 elephants cross the bridge a year later.
