100 Berry Baby Challenge: Gen 1: Part 3
____________________________________
My hypothesis is that the aliens don't receive the weak bloodline trait because they could truly never use it themselves, as the alien occult it the only one you can't change; you can't transform into a regular sim and then become a spell-caster. I'm still annoyed though, because it could have benefitted their future children. I don't like that you could have an alien descended from an ancient spell-caster bloodline and not have that trait to pass down to their own descendants.
Anyways, enough of my speculation. Plumeria finally aged up into a teen! Which I am very excited about. Before she aged up, she completed the Creative Genius aspiration and got the Idea Person reward trait, so I'm curious to see how much it will benefit her. Shortcake and Gecko are both children, and Watermelon is a toddler, meaning Rosewood and Rattlesnake have actually gotten a little stress relief.
On the far left of the second collage is Shortcake, followed by Watermelon (green) and her disguise (pink), Plumeria (green) and her disguise (pink), and Gecko on the far right.

100 Berry Baby Challenge: Gen 1: Part 2
________________________________________
Gecko aged up into a toddler! He is, in fact, a spellcaster. Rattlesnake and Rosewood had another baby after him, a little alien girl named Watermelon. She's going to be the last baby until Plumeria moves out, because I made the unwise decision to adopt two dogs. I don't regret it at the moment, because honestly a little break from babies would be nice.
Something I noticed is that Plumeria and Watermelon, both aliens, don't have the weak bloodline trait. I don't know if that's an oversight by the Sims team or a glitch, because all offspring of spellcasters are supposed to have a bloodline trait, even if they aren't spellcasters themselves. I've always gotten those traits before, even if I ended up with a normal sim or a vampire baby. Idk, I'll have to research and see if I can find out anything about it.
In the second collage, the first picture is of Shortcake as a toddler. The second column is of Gecko as an infant and a toddler. The third is Watermelon as a infant and her disguise. The last is Plumeria as a child and her disguise below.

100 Berry Baby Challenge: Gen 1: Part 1
_______________________________________
An update on the 100 Berry Baby Challenge!
I finished the founders, Rosewood (pink) and Rattlesnake (green) Palm, built them a spacious home in Sulani, and started expanding the family.
I was pleasantly surprised when their first baby turned out to be an alien occult! I knew you could get an alien from a spellcaster/alien couple if you used the genetics function in CAS, but I hadn't been sure if the same was true in game. Her name is Plumeria, and she aged up with entirely green genetics on her own, while her disguise was entirely pink/red (I don't currently have any infant or toddler hairs in pink), which was interesting. She also aged up with togruta montrals, which I decided to keep. I know Rattlesnake is a Sixam alien, but that doesn't mean there couldn't have been a togruta in her ancestry.
Their second baby, Shortcake, turned out to be a spellcaster! She naturally aged up with pink skin, but I had to roll for her hair and eyes. They've had a third baby, Gecko, but he's still a newborn. I'm 99% sure he's a spellcaster though.
On the second collage, you can see Shortcake on the very left. The second column is Plumeria as an infant and a toddler. The third column is Plumeria's infant and toddler disguises, and Plumeria again on the far right.

I'm working on my founders for the 100 Berry Baby Challenge. I haven't given them names yet, but the wife is an alien and the husband is a spell-caster, as I am obviously obsessed with occults.
I'm really glad I found the 100 Berry Baby Challenge, as it is a little less intense than the original 100 Baby Challenge, and it bypasses the part that I loathed about attempting the original version: romancing so many freaking sims.
There is one rule of the 100 Berry Baby Challenge that I won't be following exactly. Instead of the heir having the formulaic combination of the founder's skin color and the hair and eyes of the generation's spouse, the heir will be the youngest child with mixed color genetics. As long as they have a combination of both of their parent's colors in some way, they qualify. It just makes it more interesting for me and potentially gives more variety in the appearances of the heirs.
If you don't know what the 100 Berry Baby Challenge is, I'll leave a link to the original creator's post (as far as I can tell, not 100% sure), and a secondary post that slightly adapts it and just explains the challenge a bit more succinctly. (It could also be very easily modified to work with banilla or normal sims if you aren't fond of berry sims).
