Your taste is immaculate. Love finding other fellow BABYs. It’s funny because as I got more into B.A.P I absolutely fell in love with Daehyun maaan…dem lips a chef can kiss them and I found a love for Youngjae when listening to more of his solo stuff. Like his song feat with Zelo called Stay with Me, that right there is one of my favorite songs. They’re all so super talented and have all their own unique charm.

YJ and Dae’s voice…Jesus how doesn’t that make you swoon.

Woowowow those songs are my favs too. Along with XIÈ XIÈ, WǓ GUO DEN HEN HOA XIÈ XIÈ~. He performed all three of those songs. I was so hype especially when xiè xiè came on. He did an encore and performed the song again and I accidentally started singing before his set started because it was edited to fit the performance. I still cringe because it was so silent and I KNOW HE HEARD ME.!!!! I SAW HIM SLIGHTLY CHUCKLE BEFORE I TURNED AWAY FROM EMBARRASSMENT…I’m sorry that concert really made me realize wow…I do partake in celebrity culture lol.

💚 BAP in Düsseldorf - Forever with Babyz tour 09.12.2018 💚

I know this post has been very late, but I was sick and made a thread on twitter too!

We went to Germany the day of the concert, my mom was travelling with my sis and I and I also met one of my closest friends at the venue and it was so fun on our way to the hall and the concert. The next day we also went to the Xmas market (quiet boring SKDJKSJDK) and I will never forget this, but when I went to buy waffles and pancakes at this Turkish place, they also gave free food to homeless people (bless them omg)

Concert This concert, was honestly SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOOOOD. Theyre even better irl than seeing them on youtube, I couldnt believe my eyes and ears wow. Thank you for the great time ;;;

I have been following BAP since predebut and I never got the chance to see them live and knew this would be my last time and whatever happend I had to see my faves ;; Ive so many great memories with them, and apart from their amazing music, they're amazing people too and they went through so much :( their music helped me through a lot ;;

I had silver seats, but the venue was so empty I was front row in silver GA and Babys are one of the most mature fans I have ever seen, because nobody pushed me :o Even tall people gave me their spot ;;; so sweet! But tbh the empty venue made me very very sad, because they used to be damn huge and got sold out venues (even bigger than this one) but nobody really cared bc BAP was having fun with their loyal fans <3

BAP had made eco bags they would distribute to fans (there was a lottery I think?) (THIS IS SO ADORABLE MAN) And before the encore they also showed handwritten letters, which made me cry bc they talked about their hardship too.. :(

During the MC fans chanted SARANGHAE, and daehyun was like ‘wow your Korean is SO GOOD’ LMFAO and fans also chanted Johnny Depp, I have no IDEA why SJDKSJD maybe its a German thing? And also pls be quiet during MCs bc BAP couldn't rly talk and asked certain fans to be quiet too ;; and if you wanna bring a cardboard, please think about other peoples view..

Anyways, during the MC Zelo also said he didn't had his contract anymore and they didnt plan to go Europe but desperately wanted to see us ;; They didnt want to leave for encore either, and they did it TWICE. I cried so much during goodbye, because it felt like BAPs last concert ever. But I trust BAP a lot and will support every decision by them ;; Youngjae also called Yongguk during the encore and it was honestly so beautiful to sing goodbye with them and the fans and seeing their old videos on the background ;; I also had a lightstick btw!!! and the green ocean was honestly beautiful ;; 

During this concert, I rather paid attention to BAP than having fun, I wanted to have memories and my view... wow I would never exchange it for seats, I could see them so damn well and oh my god they’re so talented!! The vocals, the raps and the dance moves, they deserve so damn much.. Im so happy with this setlist bc it had SO SO SO MANY old songs ;;; 

Thank you, Yongguk, Himchan, Youngjae, Daehyung, Jongup and Zelo for the amazing time, I will be waiting for your next step and concert <3

- FREE MERCH! - B.SHOO! I thought I’d hate it but it was great and he was GREAT - VOCALS! When Junhong tried to remove the memory card for the fan, the battery came out, and he got flustered trying to put the battery back in.  YJ: You’re 22 already so please pull yourself together.

Yongguk was really happy today.

Yongguk shouted out “scream!” before one of his raps, and when the fans responded, he hid his face with this tshirt and laughed.

Himchan was dancing coolly to the chorus in 1004 but he got a full face of smoke from the smoke machines at one point. (cr: himchanfu) 

During CARNIVAL, Youngjae was on the floor the whole time waving his arms and legs about, and pretended to ride a bike (upsidedown) too. (cr: baby_daejae) The other members saw that and grinned but didn’t particularly make him get up or anything and let him be. (cr: redhareeeeee) 

Daehyun hasn’t been studying Japanese lately, but instead of [speaking Korean and] having their translator translate his words, he would ask Youngjae or the translator about saying things in Japanese and speak it out himself.

It’s Yongguk’s turn tonight to pick the lucky girl! He waited on stage for her with outstretched arms to give her a hug. Seeing that, Himchan opened his arms out too, and Yongguk gave Himchan a hug.  Daehyun also stretched his arms out too but Yongguk didn’t see him... instead Himchan gave him a back hug. 

Bartender Jongup poured the orange juice from a rather high position into the cocktail glass, gave that a taste, and then grabbed another glass. Placing the empty glass on top, with the rims firmly touching each other, he gave it a shake - and unsurprisingly, it splattered everywhere. It was about time to give the drinks to the fan, so he hurriedly took a new glass and poured some water in it. Jongup cleaned up after himself too and wiped down the table thoroughly. When realising the fan travelled from Miyagi to the concert: DH: Miyagi is really long? Reaaaally long? [distance-wise] Fan: It’s far, far away.  YJ: We came from Korea! We travelled even further! (laughs)

When asked what she wanted the member to do for her, she making a flying kiss gesture, so: YJ: Kiss...? Fan: *nods* YJ: *expression intensifies and...!* [flying kiss!] I’m surprised, I got nervous 😂 DH: Spin around 3 times and do a flying kiss!!

They danced to BURN IT UP pretty well actually. Even at the part where they lift Junhong up, they were cutely beckoning Junhong to come over for the move. Youngjae did his best to dance to LOVESICK whilst Yongguk and Himchan were absolutely blank during UNBREAKABLE. They were quite choppy dancing to POWER, but they finished it off posing coolly.

Round 2: LOOK AT ME / NEVER GIVE UP / HAJIMA / IT’S ALL LIES (cr: lovebapjp)

Yongguk and Zelo sang their own parts in the BANG&ZELO songs, and Daehyun sang the chorus parts. All of them danced along, and were perfectly in time in the ‘back in the school’ dance bit. Although Yongguk hovered in the back, Daehyun pushed him to the front for his part.

Hiatus?

To catch new fans up with the previous development of events, in November of 2014, B.A.P announced they were filing a lawsuit against TS Entertainment to nullify their contracts due to unfair conditions and profit distribution [x]. Since then,they went months into inactivity, attempting to hold a trial throughout. On August 1st, 2015, B.A.P and TS reached a settlement [x]. B.A.P returned to TS, prepared for their next activities and promoted with “Young Wild & Free” from their Matrix album and now recently released “Wake Me Up” from their Rose.

Yongguk’s hiatus and return

Due to Yongguk’s recent health (diagnosed with panic disorder in October of 2016 x), the five remaining members promoted for the Skydive/Noir comeback. Himchan took the leadership role and filled in for Yongguk during their Skydive performances. Following that, Yongguk was revealed to return to activity for their Wake Me Up comeback and so far is active in promotion again.

Yongguk is the stoic, and shy, yet caring leader of B.A.P. He is responsible for many of B.A.P’s album lyrics and more recently their song productions. His deep cave-like voice is well-known and impersonated by many. He’s also known for his vast amount of charity work and fondness of children. His favorite things, besides working on his music include ramen and his favorite character, tigger. He’s easy to embarrass, but he has a childlike side to him as well. Overall, he’s a strong leader and a strong believer of justice.

Himchan is B.A.P’s resident “mother” figure. He brings the group to life especially during variety shows, as his outrageous humor and outgoing charms are a crowdpleaser. He is known for his talent with the janggu, a korean drum and knowledge of traditional Korean music. On top of that, he originally was an emcee for MTV’s “The Show”, so his abilities are diverse. His favorite things include fashion, food and iced americanos. While he can be quite strict and teasing towards the other members, he’s very caring and sensitive. He especially shares his positivity with Babys.

Daehyun is infamous for his high notes heard throughout many of B.A.P’s songs. True to his vocal position, Daehyun is one of the more talkative members, even assuming the role as reporter for the group. Besides his voice, Daehyun is also known for his intense appetite for food (his favorite is cheesecake). He enjoys teasing and rough-housing the other members, especially the younger ones. Like Himchan, he shows a lot of love for the fans but can be sensitive himself.

Youngjae is the group’s energetic spirit and he is the huskier vocal that melodically holds together B.A.P songs. As the group’s “brain” he’s a wisecracker that enjoys trolling the other members and especially the fans. His laughter is extremely contagious and he’s best known among fans for his silly faces and reactions. Some of his favorites include R&B music and photography. Just like Himchan and Daehyun, he’s another talker and fan of the fans. Despite his often sassy to moody nature, he is quite caring over the other members.

B.A.P’s ball of sunshine, Jongup excels in heightening the group’s stage performances with his effortless dancing ability. And since B.A.P’s return from their hiatus, he’s been able to showcase his impressive vocal skills as well. His many loves include pokemon, hamburgers, chocolate milk, Frozen (particularly Olaf) and Chris Brown. One of the quieter members, his clever sense of humor is his best charm, and he never ceases to remind fans or the group of that. When he’s not smiling he’s in a perpetual state of judgement and even babys aren’t safe from his troll-like jokes.

The youngest of the group, Zelo impressed with his famous LTE rap. He is also an immensely talented dancer, and his fluid style compliments their stronger dance styles very well. Despite his age, he’s also the tallest member, at 187 cm, and he’s quite conscious about it. Including rapping and dancing, he skateboards a lot and is often seen carrying one around. He also has a liking for interesting fashions (socks) and strange animals. Another of the shy members, he’s coy when put on the spotlight outside of the stage, but a very playful and curious person at heart. 

Matoki

The mascot of B.A.P are a species of alien masked rabbits, from the planet Mato, called “matoki”. The B.A.P members have corresponding matoki and each has a color that helps designate their respective member. Their personalities loosely reflect B.A.P’s alien personas introduced in “Ta-dah It’s B.A.P!” Matoki are heavily used for promotional purposes (like album covers or graphic logos) and are frequently seen in their merchandise and products.

Shishimato (Yongguk) | Red | Intro Vid

Shishi can be described as the most soldier-like of the matoki (he’s fascinated by war tanks, fighting, destruction, and of the such). He looks after Tototmato often. Sometimes he’s seen looking at 19+ material.

Tatsmato (Himchan) | Pink | Intro VId

Tats is a laid-back, high maintenance, tatted matoki. He’s often seen drinking wine or lazing about. Tatsmato is also the only matoki wearing the default matoki mask (in logo form, the matoki symbol looks like Tatsmato).

Kekemato (Daehyun) | White | Intro Vid

Kekemato is the only matoki that is actually in a suit. Keke’s real skin color is pink, and he wears a mask with a heart on it. When in suit, his mask is white/gray (This brought a lot of confusion to fans when first released, but Keke’s/Daehyun’s representing color is white. Since white isn’t visible over light colors, fans will sometimes use gray, pink, purple or other lighter colors as a substitute in their posts/subtitling). Because of the suit, Kekemato has a secretive type of personalty. He has a fascination with Batman and superheroes.

Jokomato (Youngjae) | Yellow | Intro Vid

Joko is the brains and jokster of the group with a clown-like face. He often tries to come up with ideas and schemes but fails at executing them. In their “Goodbye” short, Joko and Keke work together to leave planet Mato. However, they crash in on the remaining matoki in their own spaceship, causing them to veer off course to Earth.  

Dadamato (Jongup) | Green | Intro Vid

Dada is a playful, tough, and active matoki with tire markings over his body. He fantasizes of riding a motorbike and is often seen making the noises as he pretends to.

Toto is a robot matoki (named after Zelo’s love of cherry tomatoes in Ta-Dah It’s B.A.P!). Because he’s a robot, he’s needs to recharge himself every so often. He often follows Shishimato’s lead in their adventures. Since he’s still a baby, he is very curious about everything around him.

**It should be noted that after Where Are You, B.A.P did not come back for almost a year and a half because of a dispute with their label, TS Entertainment. B.A.P filed a lawsuit to nullify their contacts with TS on Nov 26th 2014, however through negotiations, B.A.P reconciled with TS and returned to the company on Aug. 1st 2015. Fans have mixed feelings about the whole ordeal.

[170728 Kstyle] B.A.P, Album “UNLIMITED” after 1 year & 3 months… Keywords and memories around the 13 tracks

B.A.P have released their album “UNLIMITED” in Japan on June 28 after approximately 1 year and 3 months. From familiar sounds to new pieces like “WAKE ME UP”, as well as Jongup and Daehyun’s solo songs, it’s constructed with 13 varied tracks.

At Kstyle, we asked them about key words and memories surrounding the 13 songs that are included on the album, and followed their ‘UNLIMITED’ musicality and charms.

“UNLIMITED”

YG: This will be our second album in Japan. I think it’s a work that can show the diversity of B.A.P’s music. Furthermore, the title “UNLIMITED” means that there is no limit to B.A.P’s music.

1. FREAKY SOUND

――There are many meanings to the word “FREAKY”, so which one does this song refer to? DH: That’s true, I think the interpretation of FREAKY will differ depending on who you’re asking, but I think it’s fine as long as the person listening enjoys it with how they understand it as. “FREAKY SOUND” has a different image to what B.A.P has shown till now; it’s a song that fun and yet has a unique atmosphere, so I think the fans will come to like this new feel.

――There are the lyrics “an insane party”, have the B.A.P members had an insane party before? DH: We don’t have parties, but we often gather together and play around, so I guess you could call that a party in our circumstance. Right, Jongup? JU: Yes, that’s right. DH: Jongup likes parties. He usually drinks when we gather and talks away, that sort of a feel. He doesn’t drink at home, so we gather up somewhere outdoors.

――There’s also the phrase “super crazy” in the lyrics, is there a member who you think is crazy? JU: Hmmm, it’s hard to find something to use as a standard….. (laughs), but I think it’s Youngjae. Youngjae lives very properly. DH: You’re making it sound as if we don’t live properly (laughs). JU: But Youngjae really lives exemplarily, so on the reverse I think that’s crazy. I’m the opposite. ZL: In a good way I think Jongup is super crazy. Because he’s able to do anything very well.

2. SKYDIVE

――The Korean version of this song had a MV over 10 minutes long which gave a lasting impression, please tell us again what the story was about. DH: We were comrades of the same organisation, but there was a traitor within us. That traitor kidnapped my girlfriend and gave me instructions like to kill the other members. I carry out those missions. After that, there’s a scene where our group meet with the police and [we realise] Jongup is the traitor who joined forces with the police. JU: I’m ‘super crazy’ (laughs). ALL: (laughs) YJ: I die because of Jongup (laughs) DH: There’s a scene of Youngjae being shot by Jongup.

――It’s created just like a “Noir film’. HC: You’re right. If there’s the chance, I’d like to act in one of those movies. I think we’ll be able to act well if we get an offer!

3. NOW (Jongup Solo)

――Continuing on, “NOW” is Jongup’s solo song isn’t it. JU: This was a song that I created with my friend and released in Korea, which was then translated into Japanese. It’s the first time for my own song to be included in a Japanese album, and since I love Japanese animes and songs, I think it’s a great honour and a good experience.

――You released a project album with Daehyun in Korea and had solo promotions, how was that? JU: I wanted to perform for the fans sake, so I’m happy if they watched over it warmly. It was a new challenge for me too, and I want to continue showing my cool side to everyone.

4. WAKE ME UP

――You came back as a ‘complete unity with 6’ with this song, and also had activities in Japan after a long time as 6 in April. How was going around Japan after a while as 6? YG: Promoting with all 6 members was a fun and precious time. The flying kisses event was fun too.

――The “flying kisses event” is a very rare one, how did it feel to actually experience it? DH: It was probably the first time ever for us. YJ: It was fun! HC: The fans looked embarrassed didn’t they. DH: Isn’t that because the one who did [the flying kiss] it was embarrassed? (laughs) HC: Is that so? I did my flying kisses like a pro (laughs) DH: They might’ve been embarrassed because you did it so professionally (laughs). We were all separated so I don’t know how the other fans reacted, but all my fans were very happy.

5. FIRE FLAME

――What sort of song is this? DH: Along with “FREAKY SOUND”, I view this song as one that we challenged to show a new side to B.A.P. We challenged it by incorporating popular music styles of that time and since it’s a very refined song, I hope everyone will like it.

――It sounded like a mix of EDM and hiphop, something that I felt was a rare tune for B.A.P. DH: Hmm, I wonder~ The producer is sitting right here (laughs) (looks at Yongguk) YG: It’s not really EDM. I think it’s a song that has a more lounge music feel.

6. BE HAPPY

――This song has a different image to other B.A.P tracks and is an upbeat party tune with a funky element. YG: Yes, I wanted to create a song that made one happy so I composed this.

――How did the members feel when they first heard it? HC: Very happy, and I felt powerful vibes. ZL: We hadn’t done any funky songs like this before so I liked it, and I was able to sing it happily. DH: I remember that we had a lot of fun when we were recording it too. HC: That’s right, we finished the recording whilst enjoying ourselves.

――Going with the title “BE HAPPY”, what moments do you feel happy at? YJ: I honestly feel happy when I sing “BE HAPPY” on stage.   DH: That’s right, it’s very fun to sing this song so it feels like we’re playing around together [on stage]. HC: When I wake up, and see that I can still sleep a bit more. JU: When I look at B.A.P’s dreams (thinking about our future) with all 6 of us. ALL: Ohh~ that’s right! DH: Also the other day, it was my birthday and I was happy when the members celebrated it with me. Himchan treated me to drinks. We drank it at the hotel.

7. GOOD TIME

――What’s the 7th track “GOOD TIME” like? DH: Just like the title, it’s a ‘good time’. YJ: That doesn’t explain anything (laughs) ALL: (laughs) DH: When I listened to it, I felt at ease and I think it’s a healing song.

――When did you feel happy lately? DH: I’m currently preparing for the musical “Napoleon”. It’s my first time to challenge a musical, but I’m enjoying myself preparing for it, so I hope many of you come to watch! ZL: Right now I’m addicted to dramas. It’s really been a while since I’ve watched something straight from the first episode. I’m watching a drama called “Fight for My Way”. It’s not only interesting, I’ve fallen for the charms of the characters in the show and I’m enviously thinking that I’d like to try acting this sort of role whilst watching. The theme of the whole drama, and not only Park Seojoon’s character is very attractive. I watched it since it was popular, and got addicted straight away.

8. FEEL SO GOOD

――The 8th track is “FEEL SO GOOD” which you had previously released as a single. What sort of times do you feel hyped up? YG: Exactly right now (laughs) DH: For me I guess it’s when I finish all my schedules and go home to sleep.

――Do you get excited when you drink too? HC: That’s right, but I also have serious conversations when I drink, so I drink quietly during those times. It [how I am] depends on what we’re talking about at that time. YJ: He gets really high when it’s a fun topic.

――Is there a member who has a habit of acting a certain way after they drink? HC: Hmmm, I don’t think there are any drinking habits in particular. DH: You do have some don’t you Himchan. He’ll end up paying the bill. (laughs) HC: I don’t know why I end up doing that though (laughs). I really have to fix this habit (laughs).

9. I GUESS I NEED U

――In this song too, there’s the word “alcohol” at the very beginning of the lyrics, who’s the strongest drinker between the members? ALL: *all look at YG* HC: But in terms of volume, Jongup drinks a bit too doesn’t he? JU: It’s “unlimited” (laughs) ALL: (laughs) DH: But he gets drunk though HC: He gets drunk but he stays till the end. Lately I leave midway because it gets tough (laughs) DH: The ones who can drink are Jongup and Yongguk hyung, but Yongguk hyung doesn’t get drunk. I’ve never seen him drunk. HC: You’d probably never know even if he was drunk. YJ: Though in my mind, I think Yongguk hyung is drunk when he says “I’m not drunk” (laughs). ALL: (laughs) YJ: Yongguk hyung doesn’t say if he’s drunk or if he’s not drunk, but I feel like if people around him ask “are you drunk?”, he’ll take no notice when he’s sober, and deny with “I’m not drunk” when is a little drunk. (laughs) YG: (bitter smile) ALL: (laughs) DH: But he doesn’t change much from usual. YJ: Everyone else changes when they’re drunk. HC: Jongup’s aegyo increases. YJ: Yes, it makes me want to hit him (laughs). ALL: (laughs) JU: I don’t really know [remember] though (laughs) YJ: I’m scared of drunk Jongup. DH: You’re scared even though he has more aegyo? YJ: Yeah, it’s different from usual so it’s scary (laughs). He starts with “hehe”, then “hehe, hyung do you want to drink some? Hehe”. That’s how he talks and that’s scary (laughs) ALL: (laughs)

10. 1004

――I think the 10th track “1004” is a song with many memories for everyone. HC: We won first place with this song on music shows. I think it was on “SHOW CHAMPION”. And then we ordered Korean food on that day, but it tasted really bad (laughs). I suddenly remembered that just then (laughs). ALL: (laughs) YJ: Was that so, I don’t remember (laughs). We were invited to award shows for this song too. When we won first place, I don’t think I was able to process that properly and feel the joy. Looking back at footage from then, it was the first time for us to win first place after debuting for 2 years, and yet I was expressionless, and not very happy looking. I think it was because it didn’t feel real. It’s a bit of a shame looking at that now.

――That’s from 3 years ago now. Comparing now to then, what are things that you think have changed? ZL: Back then I was 19 years old, and now I’m 22 years old. Although it was only 1 year to go from my teens to my 20s, I think it was a time full with change. That’s why I think I’ve matured compared to then. YJ: I’ve learnt a lot and I think I’ve changed how I think about things too.

11. YOU (Daehyun solo)

――The 11th track is Daehyun’s solo song “YOU”. I heard it was a song prepared for the Japanese fans. DH: When I made this song, I thought about how I would show it to the fans. We also had a Japanese concert upcoming during that period. I love Japanese ballads and although it’ll be a first, I decided to deliver this song in Japanese to the Japanese fans. Then I performed it in the concert, and received a good response from the fans, and hence we came to including this song in the album as well. The members also told me “it’s a good song” when I performed it at the concert.

――Is there a particular Japanese ballad that you like? DH: Firstly I really like Nakashima Mika’s “Yuki no Hana” which was remade in Korea. Other than that, I often listen to ballads mainly by female singers like Namie Amuro.

12. WITH YOU

――I believe this is an indispensable song during concerts. YJ: That’s right. It’s a song that represents our feelings when we’re with our fans. It’s a song that both we and our fans can relate to. HC: It’s our fan song. To us, and to the fans, it’s a song that gives us energy, and so it’s become a song that must be performed and can’t be missed from concerts.

13. FLY HIGH

――The last track is “FLY HIGH”. Just like the title, all of you have been flying around the world on the world tour. Have there been any memorable countries? JU: Paris was memorable for me. We had some free time in Paris and I was able to do some shopping and eat good food so it was fun. YJ: I ate risotto, lobster, steak and such with Yongguk hyung. We thought it was a nice restaurant and went inside, but it really was a great restaurant. DH: Talking about concerts, it’s hard to choose one. The cheering style and other things differ depending on the country, but in the end, the fact that they’re supporting us remains the same and all of that is meaningful to us, and I’m very grateful to everyone. We’re into our 6th year now and it’s been a long time, and on top of that our hiatus was long too. That’s why I thought fans wouldn’t come to see us like they have, but honestly, so many fans came to our concert, and that alone was very satisfying.

―― Now finally, how “FLY HIGH” [high do you want to fly] in the future? YG: There’s no concrete goal, and like this album title, I’d like to be limitless and be able to go anywhere. ALL: Ohh~! (claps)

For that measure, I think it’s an album that’s all the more listen-worthy. There are many title tracks included too and I’m confident that it’s a ‘powerful’ album packed with B.A.P colour! 

―― What’s your favourite song in the album? ZL: I like “SKYDIVE”. We created the Japanese version for this album and because the choreography is also really cool, I think we’ll be able to show a very comprehensive performance.  DH: My solo song “YOU”. It’s already meaningful that it’s my first solo song; I feel blessed to be able to sing it! I focused hard and took my time when recording it.  YJ: For me it’s “1004″. It’s a song that depicts B.A.P’s interpretation of love, and now with the Japanese lyrics, I think we can perform it with another type of feeling.  JU: I love all the songs, but my favourite is my solo song “NOW”.  YG: Each of the songs are equally dear to me. I participated in the production of all the songs in this album and they’re like my sons so I can’t choose. Sorry! HC: I like “FLY HIGH”. Since it’s a song that was an original Japanese number, it’s one that holds an important meaning to us. 

―― It’s been 5 years since your debut, what are the charms of B.A.P, and charms of the members that you have once again realised? ZL: Each members’ own personal features. I think that’s why a strong synergy is born when the 6 of us gather together, creating B.A.P’s style. My own charm is... DH: Being tall? ZL: My height just kept growing and growing (laughs). No that’s not it, isn’t there something else? DH: Hmm, your cuteness?  ZL: Because I’m the group’s maknae! (looks happy) DH: All the members have become so handsome that it makes me think “don’t we fall into the getting-more-handsome-as-they-go-on[-from-debut] category?” (laughs). You say we were handsome when we debuted? No no not at all! Back then a large part of it was what the staff had created for us, but now, I think the things that we can show through our own selves have increased.  JU: B.A.P is the only group that brings together these 6 people on earth, and that alone is precious isn’t it (laughs). I think it was fate that the 6 of us came together. I’m happy that I’m a single piece of that.  YG: I agree fully with the members. And about my charms... I’d like to find out about that from now on. HC: Yongguk’s charm is that he purely does his absolute best at anything! YG: I’ve found out one of my charms (laughs). Well then, I’ll say Himchan’s charm... HC: No thank you. I’ll talk about my own charms! ALL: (explosive laughs) YJ: All of us loving music is the most charming. And for my own charm, my warm voice and face. Lately, I’ve had the chance to listen to my own voice properly and I thought it wasn’t a bad one at all (laughs).  HC: That all of us have our own personalities. We think about different things even when the 6 of us are together, and that’s really interesting. My charm, is looking after people well?  DH: True, you often treated me to food in the past (laughs).  HC: I’m the type to give my love generously to the people I love. 

―― It seems like B.A.P are currently flying around the world on your world tour.  DH: Just like the tour title “PARTY BABY!” conveys, it has a party-like concept to have tons of fun, and we planned it to include more EDM-style songs so everyone can jump and move about to enjoy themselves. It makes me happy to see the heated responses from each location.  HC: Each concert has a different concept, and there’s a dress code as well. In the Korean concert, we went on stage with water guns, and on the second day, the fans brought water guns too (laughs).  DH: Everyone pointed their guns to us (laughs)! HC: It turned into a water gun battle in the end! ZL: I want to have fun with the Japanese fans too. Everyone, please come along to have fun!

①Just like the album (title) “UNLIMITED”, what’s something that you love so much that you can do it unlimitedly? YG: I can compose music continuously unlimitedly.  HC: I can continuously do the things other than what I’m doing right now or the thing that I should be doing at that time. I’m the type to only do what I’m interested in (laughs).  DH: I can continue practising forever.  YJ: I can drink water unlimitedly.  JU: I can love life unlimitedly.  ZL: I can worry endlessly. My latest worry is about composing. 

②Your favourite Japanese phrase? YG: Konbini (laughs) [T/N: Convenience store]. Every Japanese convenience store food is delicious. There are particularly many bento varieties and they taste good, it’s the best! HC: Sakura. Since I love cherry blossoms! DH: Tonkatsu! I’ve always been saying that I like tonkatsu but for some reason, Himchan hyung always mistakes it with abura-age!  YJ: Yume. [T/N: Dream] Because it’s a word that I often hear in animes.  JU: Ima [T/N: Now]. Because I like the movie “Ima, ai ni yukimasu” [T/N: English title “Be With You”].  ZL: Nomi mashou! [T/N: Let’s drink!]

③Something that you want to do in Japan? DH: I want to holiday in Japan again.  YJ: I want to stay in Japan for an extended period and study Japanese! I want a sushi chef to take me in as an apprentice and teach me how to make sushi.  JU: I like anime, so I’d like to observe at the production location and voice actor recordings.  ZL: I heard that Japanese onsens are exceptional, so I want to go in one and relax.

[170706] Korepo - B.A.P, 2nd Album “UNLIMITED” Released! Revealing Episodes About Overcoming Boundaries & Their Current State!

B.A.P have released their 2nd Japanese album “UNLIMITED” on 6/28 (Wed). Since the release of “Best. Absolute. Perfect”, it has been 1 year and 3 months till this new album release. The title “UNLIMITED” refers to their ‘limitless’ potential. 

The album includes Japanese releases like “FEEL SO GOOD”, “FLY HIGH” & “WAKE ME UP” along with their coupling songs, as well as Japanese versions of Jongup’s solo composition “NOW”, and of “SKYDIVE” & “1004″ which were released in Korea and popular in Japan too. Furthermore, the solo ballad “YOU” which Daehyun wrote for the Japanese fans is included as well, bringing the track total to 13 for this album that truly is filled with the charms of ‘limitless B.A.P’. 

With that, B.A.P who began promotions in Japan with their new album talked to us excitedly about their album, impressions on the first half of 2017 promotions and what they’ve done lately in their private life. 

－ It’s been 1 year & 3 months with the release of your 2nd Japanese album “UNLIMITED”, how do you feel? DH: It’s meaningful because many fans have waited for it and we worked hard on creating it so I’m happy.  YJ: It’s been a while since [we’ve released] a full album, so thinking that we can meet the fans with it makes me excited.  HC: Being able to promote like this makes me happy and blissful. We have many chances to meet the Japanese fans so I’m looking forward to it very much.  YG: I’m very happy. I hope we can have many more performances from now on. ZL: It excites me that I can meet with many fans again, so much that I can’t sleep (laughs). JU: I also feel really good. I want to go on stage quickly and perform for everyone. 

－ The release date was 6/28 which was also Daehyun’s birthday right? DH: Yes! ALL: *applauds* DH: It feels really good. I think this album can be a big hit in a great way (laughs).

－ By the way, did the members celebrate Daehyun’s birthday? DH: Himchan hyung treated me to drinks. Then before anyone else, Jongup messaged me and congratulated me first.  JU: With “happy birthday”. DH: I was on my phone and suddenly his message came. He was first!

－ Messages from the other members came of course too right? DH: We have 6 members, so there are 6 birthdays in the year, and because we can’t properly celebrate sometimes, there are times when that [birth] day is much like any other one (laughs). 

－ The album’s title “UNLIMITED” contains the message that ‘B.A.P has limitless potential”, it’s a great title.  DH: I think the word “limitless” itself is perfect for us and I really like it. YJ: The meaning matches and is deeply etched within us so it’s a great title isn’t it.  YG: It’s an album that shows through its 13 tracks how B.A.P have no boundaries and our ability to master various genres of music. 

－ Please tell me the songs you feel strongly about out of the 13 tracks. DH: I guess it’s my solo track “YOU” after all (laughs). JU: I too find meaning in my own solo, so it’s “NOW”. YJ: “SKYDIVE”. Because it’ll be the first time to show it to everyone after creating a Japanese version and putting it into this album. ZL: Same. Yongguk hyung has returned and we can be on stage anew and perform the Japanese version for everyone so it’s “SKYDIVE”. HC: “WAKE ME UP” is good. In this song, we can show a more mature side on stage and it’s a new song as well.  YG: There are many good songs so it’s difficult to choose one. I love all of them.

－Yongguk, you often participate in lyric and compositions, but were there any tracks in this album that were completed quickly, or on the reverse, took a lot of time to create?  YG: “BE HAPPY” was completed quickly and “FEEL SO GOOD” took a while. 

－ Why was “BE HAPPY” completed quickly? YG: If I knew that, I think I’d be god (laughs). I want to know too

－ Hahaha. Was there a part of “FEEL SO GOOD” that concerned you so that it took a while? YG: There’s no right or wrong in music so creating it to my satisfaction is what took up the time.

－ Continuing with “UMLIMITED”, please tell us if there are any episodes about you overcoming boundaries. DH: Originally it wasn’t in my nature to be in the spotlight and do well, so there are parts where I rely on my group members, but recently I’ve begun rehearsals on the musical “Napoleon” and because the members aren’t there, I’ve learnt and felt many things. In that sense, I think I’ve overcome my limits and learnt how to express my honest feelings.  YJ: When we released our first album, I practised like crazy and I think I overcame my boundaries then (laughs). ZL: Recently I’ve began training again and I’m in the midst of doing various sports. At first I didn’t have much arm strength and couldn’t do pull-ups well. But now, I can do about 100 after getting a personal trainer.  YJ: At once? ZL: No. Not 100 continuously.  YJ: Ah~ Splitting it up into different sets.

－ What’s your purpose for doing pull-ups? ZL: If I had to say, more than the front of my body, I wanted to work on my shoulders and back and such. That shows through more when I’m dancing or just wearing clothes, so I’d thought to train my back, but it’s really tough. *The members start moving their arms up and down like doing a pull-up* ZL: I feel like doing stretches now~ (laughs) HC: When I drink. I feel like I’m always passing my limit (laughs). 

－ When you [Himchan] drink, when do you feel is your limit? HC: When my memory becomes foggy. So I stop when I feel like it’s dangerous to drink more and go home. JU: His pupils slowly dilate.  HC: Always, my eyes go like this when I’m drinking. *Narrows eyes* ALL: *laughs* JU: Please pass me for this question. HC: You always do that! JU: Because everything has no limits for me! ALL: *laughs*

－ The first half of 2017 has already gone by. Looking back, you held your 2nd Japan tour in January, released your 7th single “WAKE ME UP” in April, and now released your 2nd album. In Korea you had a comeback as six in March which led onto your world tour; Americas in April and Europe in May, continuing on with various different countries. I think it was a half-year filled with substance; were there any memorable moments? YJ: We are still in the middle of our world tour, but I think this world tour that started off in Korea is the most memorable. It’s tough to prepare for a concert, but to us, it’s also a chance to see the wider world and a very precious time. Whichever city we visit, they all have their own charms and we can feel it in our bones. Honestly, all the countries are great. ZL: We do world tours yearly and whilst we make great memories, when we go again the next year, the we make even better memories. Receiving energy from everyone and feeling that energy, I think it’s got to be the world tour. YG: *nods* I feel the same as the members. HC: So far into this tour, the outdoor concert in Budapest, Hungary was good.  ZL: Previously, we had an outdoor performance in a Korean festival, so I was really anticipating it when I heard it was going to be an outdoor concert since it had been a long time. I was able to relive the feeling that I felt before and it was really fun. 

－ Did the food match your taste in all countries? DH: All of us like to look for the famous and delicious foods of that country so we go to search for good restaurants whenever we go. It’s the same when we come to Japan. We often go to “Tsurutontan”, but we also like sushi and tonkatsu so we go looking for those restaurants too. 

－ The 6 of you have spent a long time together already, what do you talk about between yourselves? DH: Right now, we’re at the point where we’ve finished Korean promotions and taking a short break in the world tour, so we’re all doing our own things and recharging so... But, when the 6 of us gather together, we get hyped up over little things and have fun, and I think that’s a sign of exactly how close we are. When we’re together, anything we do is fun isn’t it. 

－ Talking about which, when you broadcast the “boy night in Hakata” on the live broadcasting app, you were playing various games and there were punishments too. Is there a member that often loses when you play games? ZL: I think that would be me (laughs). DH: Youngjae’s always strong. YJ: But from some point in time, I began losing.  JU: You lost your greed.  YJ: Maybe (laughs).

－ Isn’t Youngjae the smart one? YJ: In the games we play, it’s not about using our brains but it’s dependent on luck. I used to win almost all of them, but. It seems like I’ve used up all my luck (laughs). 

－ Well then, please tell us about the interests and things that you do in your private time. YJ: Recently, I’ve started composing with my friend. It was fun once I started trying to do it, so when I have the time, I’ll write lyrics and compositions. I just finished 1 song and finished recording it as well. If there’s the chance, I’d like to reveal it since I think it’s a good one.  ZL: I recently too wrote songs in preparation for the new Korean album, and adding to that, writing songs for the sake of challenging myself. I’m composing with the thought that it’d be great if I could include them in a B.A.P album.  HC: I’ve been meeting people. Chatting and having drinks. In terms of Japanese drinks, I like nihonshu, but Japanese whisky is also nice so I like Japanese whisky too.  ZL: I like “horoyoi”. My favourite (laughs). JU: Lately I’ve been watching movies. I watched “King Arthur”.  HC: I watched it with him the other day.  JU: Yeah, together at the dorm. We had to pay but there was a service that showed movies on the tv.  ZL: I watched it at the cinemas! I went to watch 4 movies with my older brother. He wanted to watch them, so [we saw] “Transformers: The Last Knight”, “The Villainess (Ak-nyeo)”, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” and “Get Out”. Generally, I like to watch what’s trending at the time and I like action movies, but I also like romantic comedies too.  YG: When I have the time, I’ll go ride my scooter. I like driving slowly whilst enjoying the scenery.

－ What was the reason for starting to ride your scooter? YG: I’m a big fan of Audrey Hepburn and when I watched the movie “Roman Holiday”, there was a scene with her riding around Rome on a scooter, and because I wanted to enjoy myself freely like that, I bought a scooter as a birthday present to myself and started riding it. Just recently, at the start of June, I did a bike tour in Indonesia. In Japan too, I want to bring my own scooter and try riding it. 

－ Where do you go usually when you’re riding your scooter? YG: To where I want to go at that time and where I’m attracted to. I go wherever I feel like so there’s no set destination. 

－ Everything that Yongguk said today is so cool *Jongup & Zelo laugh* No?  JU: I wanted to say that too. ZL: The place I want to go is the destination! ALL: *laughs*

－ Daehyun mentioned earlier that he started rehearsals for the musical “Napoleon” so I guess you’ve been busy? DH: Yes. I think acting in “Napoleon” is a new start and since I want to learn many things, I haven’t done anything else but immerse myself in rehearsing. 

－ When the musical starts, will the members go and watch Daehyun’s brave venture?  YJ: Probably. HC: I’ll think about it. Judging on his behaviour.  DH: Hahaha, you don’t have to force yourselves to come, it’s ok! (laughs) HC: I want to go but I’m busy. I need to find the time. 

－  Also, Daehyun and Jongup promoted their solo songs in Korea too. How was it? DH: It was the first solo activity for our group and I wanted to show that B.A.P can do plenty well even for solos. Luckily, there was a good response, and I was satisfied and learnt various things.  JU: Me too, I think I was able to show what I had prepared so I am satisfied. At the same time, there’s a part of me that thinks I could’ve done better. Additionally, because I went to the tv station by myself, I felt anew how big the presence of the members were.Well, although I had solo promotions this time round, it was more like a special stage for the fans than an official solo debut, so through this experience I was able to get a feel of what sort of music I want to do, not as B.A.P, but as myself.  DH: When we were promoting solo, Himchan hyung came to support us.  HC: It felt like I was the one promoting (laughs). I went 4 times within 2 weeks. DH: You only came once for me but you went 3 times for Jongup? HC: Your promotion times overlapped. DH: *lightbulb moment* Ah~

－ From the leader’s perspective, how were the member’s solo promotions? YG: I think it was praiseworthy.  HC: But, there were parts that still could be improved on.  ZL: I too had my attention drawn to the fact that they were inexperienced. DH: Hahaha. You mustn't let the words of people that sound like internet trolls get to you! ZL: But, since they are our members, I was monitoring them the whole time. 

－ Zelo is the youngest in B.A.P right? (laughs) ZL: Yes, the place I want to go is the destination! ALL: *laughs*

－ The second half of the year is starting, please tell us how you’ll wrap up this year and your thoughts about future promotions! HC: After the Japanese promotions finish, we plan to release an album in Korea so we’ll get into preparations for that.  DH: Also, the musical, “Napoleon”, that I will be in will be showing from July till October, so please look forward to it!

Different to their cool charisma that they exude on stage, the B.A.P members were in a relaxed state, and I was able to witness this gap at the photoshoot studio where someone was always singing in the background, and where they bared themselves and showed their unfaltering spirit towards musical exploration.
