To Fix Your Mistakes by ShadowAndPurgatory

this is a great lil fic where taako ends up using the chalice!! and it all works out in the end but it's a rocky road getting there. it's a neat 6k and it's very good but only has- 27 kudos! which seems like far too few. i love seeing taako interact with angus and the dos horny boys in a universe where they know nothing about him and he knows everything. go give it some love.

which stage of grief is 'crying over wooden ducks' again? by RaineyDay

this one is angsty but i love it- i've come back to it often since it was posted. this is a "break-it" whump oneshot where, after the story and song, taako somehow is sent back in time and finds himself back on the starblaster. taako mourns the loss of new connections like angus and kravitz and tries to deal with the fraying bonds between him and his crewmates as they notice that something is different about him. i'm always a slut for time travel fics and this is SUCH a cool premise. a very tasty little morsel.

full disclosure- i have never seen the nancy drew movie this fic is based on. but it's super good. 50k of very good angus detective content and only 88 kudos... criminal! make like a kid detective and right some wrongs by checking it out.

Upcoming Projects for 2025

Lola and I have something that we want to get going in 2025, but the reality is that I've struggled with writing this year and I've got a lot going on in the first part 2025 that will require my creativity so other than my project with Lola, I'm really not sure what I'll be writing. There are a couple of things I'd like to write, but we'll see.

As for the fics I've posted in 2024:

In 2023, I posted 15 fics which weren't just updates to my drabble collections. I'm pretty sure this was a reduction in what I'd posted in 2021/2022. This year, I've continued that downward trend and posted 7 fics, 4 ficlets (less than 1k words), and a smattering of drabbles (ie. strictly 100 words) here on tumblr, some of which have been cross-posted to ao3.

The thing about sex with Henry is, it’s never the same twice. Sometimes he moves easily, caught up in the rush, and other times he’s tense and taut and wants Alex to work him loose and take him apart. Sometimes nothing gets him off faster than being talked back to, but other times they both want him to use every inch of authority in his blood, not to let Alex get there until he’s told, until he begs. It’s unpredictable and it’s intoxicating and it’s fun, because Alex has never met a challenge he didn’t love, and he— well, Henry is a challenge, head to toe, beginning to end.

CS one-shot: I will write a one-shot (3,000-5,000 words prob) based in the CS universe. It will be canon to the fic but will never be mentioned/referenced in the fic itself so stand alone to read. It may be a future scene, may be based somewhere in the current timeline. Open to ideas on the POV and such (though I have some floating around that I can do ;))

Q&A/Ask the Cast: a classic, I know my ask box is open but here's also a clear chance to ask something that you've been really curious about! I won't share spoilers for the story, but everything else is on the table, including stuff about me, writing etc. Just no super personal questions is all! Additionally, you can ask the cast questions and answers will be in character, perhaps with a little doodle as well ^-^

Finished refs/busts for the cast of CS: I'll post the finished versions of the rough sketches I shared a few months ago, along with the remainder of the cast! This will probably happen eventually anyway BUT if you want them sooner rather than later this is you're chance if you're curious :)

Spooky Season one-shot: something halloween-related that again I'm open to ideas for! Would also be about 3,000-5,000 words in length, could be related to CS or not

Writing Requests: similar to the requests I did for reveal day, same rules apply (no nsfw, suggestive is fine, be specific if you want specific) but a little longer in length (500-1000 words)

Doodle requests: I provide you with a little drawing I made with tender love and care (would be lined, colored, shaded, etc.)

A peek into the drafts: I do in fact have a couple other fic ideas floating around in my brain that I simply haven't started so that I don't get bogged down/focus on CS. I would share those and a little bit of concept art

anon: I am simply OBSESSED with this oneshot, I scream about it to anybody that will listen. I come back and read it every time I read the climax of Alex and Henry's argument in London. It is Henry POV and the first time I read it I truly wondered if it was CMQ writing Henry fic on AO3. Not only does it build on the signet ring and give background on what it means to Henry and parallels it with his parents, but it also weaves fire/water symbolism for Alex/Henry. The thing that gets me is the quote at the end though. It's just like the queer historical quotes from the emails in the books and it makes the ending SO PERFECT it just makes me go feral. I wish I could give it all the kudos!

“Everyone out!”

Conversation around the room stops as several pairs of confused and curious eyes turn toward him. 

“Is something wrong, Astarion?” Wyll asks. 

“The only thing wrong is that you are all still here,” he says, sliding an arm beneath June’s knees to lift her into a princess carry as he stands. “I’d strongly suggest you leave now.”

“Astarion!” June gasps, arms wrapping around his neck for support. 

“You joking, Fangs?” Karlach asks.

Shadowheart’s eyes drop down to the bulge in his trousers before making a disgusted noise and turning away. “He’s not. Let’s go.”

“By Mystra’s eyelids, you two!” Gale croaks, his face turning very red as he stands up and shuffles to the door. Several of the others make noises of outrage and protest while June gives them an apologetic look. 

Astarion does not care. He’d take her on the floor in front of everyone right now if that was his only option. But he doubts June would be quite so amenable to an audience. It really is terribly annoying that this floor of the Elfsong is so open, affording them all very little privacy. Normally, he’d try to plan around this situation - sneaking off to another inn, waiting until everyone else was out, and so on. But there’s no time for that now. 

If he isn’t inside of her in the next five minutes, Astarion thinks he might die.

Five minutes might be pushing it, actually.
