SandWings often swallow their prey whole like a snake

RainWings, when telling stories, subconsciously change their scales to vaguely match those of the dragons in the story. They find it hard to follow stories told by non-RainWings because they rely somewhat on visual cues. Ex: Kinkajou telling Moon about something Winter said and her scales turning white and blue without her thinking about it.

Dragon wing gestures are something not enough ppl talk about but I love thinking about wing movement as it relates to body language. Wings flared to try to intimidate or to convey excitement, wings swept outward and horizontally to gesture to their surroundings, wings used to point at things, to wave hello or goodbye, RainWing wings outstretched and turned red in a gesture not unlike a middle finger, wings pulled back in shock, wings poised to launch into the air in a fight or flight response when startled, etc etc just WING RELATED BODY LANGUAGE/GESTURES!

SkyWings also 100% have at LEAST 30 rude gestures you can do with ur wings

LeafWings have prehensile tails like RainWings

RainWings as well as IceWings have an incredible ability to right themselves in the air when knocked off balance, kinda like cats lol

SandWings would too bc sandstorms

SandWings are actually really good swimmers

MudWings don't swim but walk along the bottom of the lake/river like a hippo

When RainWings trip on frog poison, their scales turn neon colors

SkyWings have extremely well developed vision and can see insane detail from very far away, like an eagle.

RainWings have courtship dances.

Typically, male RainWings and SkyWings have brighter colors and male SkyWings are more commonly red.

Similarly, blue SeaWings are more commonly male.

HiveWings can be hot pink. (Inspiration from that one kind of grasshopper)

Procreation between NightWings and SeaWings sometimes creates children with bioluminescent black lights.

RainWings can learn to speak Aquatic through scale color changes, though it only works with daylight because their scales are only color changing and not bioluminescent.

SeaWings can get high from pufferfish poison, like dolphins.

SeaWings get sick when they transfer from fresh water to salt water and vice versa, similar to altitude sickness.

SkyWings anatomically have the largest hearts of any tribe. (Ah, the irony)

If they eat too many shrimp or similar seafood, IceWings can turn pink. (It's not cute though, it's often a sign of malnourishment.)

RainWings, LeafWings and NightWings are the only tribes able to eat chocolate without getting sick.

Many NightWings are colorblind, but can see colors in visions of the future.

RainWings can mimick sounds and even voices with bonechilling accuracy.

Hi, please let’s take appreciation for the smallest details that Murder Drones have

I love how despite having the same idea of somewhat decorating their lockers, they still show a bit of their different personalities

Nori has color in it, a lot of emotion too, with the exclamation marks and the little angry face, clearly not wanting people to mind in her business with her “STAY OUT!” message. The colors and the fact she has hearts and a dolphin (?) shows she does like cutesy stuff but enjoys edgy things thanks to the skull (?) drawing. Her hand writing is in bold and in all caps but is a rather round lettering

She is giving a bit of “that one girls who did the most decorated and messy-in-a-pretty-way school notes” vibes

Yeva on the other hand surprisingly does show a bit personality but not as much as Nori, its all in black, no color. Her lettering is much more sharper and even fancier in a way, and the words aren’t 100% in bold, her name isn’t in all caps, except for her “DO NOT DISTURB!!” Message. Which tbh is so silly she opted to words things like that. Has slightly poorly drawn stars and flowers doodles, a cutesy vibe in comparison to her sharp lettering.

I originally thought that her “do not disturb!!” message was misspelled, to show that she struggles writing in english, but then I realized it was written properly, its just the words where faded out and worded in a peculiar way. She makes it sounds that she uses the locker to sleep in it and she doesn’t want ppl to disturb her (if these are indeed lockers and not rooms). Or maybe she does struggle a lil when wording in English, who knows?

Its also interesting how the dolphin drawing, the stars and flower doodles are all from the outside world, from nature. Yeva and Nori probably know and have seen these things somewhere but I doubt they saw it in person or saw it daily while they lived on the labs/camps, its kinda cute and sad

And again is a bit sweet that despite their awful and dire conditions they still tried to have fun in some way. 

But it’s so tragic at the same time bc they where probably women with interesting and cool personalities with aspirations but where forced in a horrible situation and livehood.

And then, whatever kinds of horrors it definitely changed them permanently as people, and not in a good way.

Chapter 47 Family Fun Day

The morning went off with a hitch having room service bring you breakfast in bed this morning was a blessing sent from the gods you weren’t ready to move from the bed yet & Eddie being the loving man he is suggesting you both just have breakfast in your room today since you’ll be doing so many activities. Both getting on your bathing suits & you tossing a Lita Ford shirt with the sleeves cut off overtop & a pair of your old black jeans cut off into shorts you both head out to the lobby to meet the group & your guide for the day. You can tell everyone’s overly excited seeing them all talk a mile a minute as you both approach hand in hand. “Hello everyone I assume this is the Munson group?” “Yes sir I’m Eddie & this is my wife Jamie it’s nice to meet you were really excited to get to take a look around it’s beautiful here” “why thank you & it’s nice to meet you all as well my name is Koa & I’ll be your guide for today we’re going to swim with some dolphins & I’m going to take you all snorkeling at the Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve our tour vehicle will be here in 30 minutes so if anyone has anything they need now would be a good time”. Dustin walks up to Koa “That’s a real interesting name sir mines Dustin does your name have any meaning behind it or is it a family name I think it sounds really cool kind of like a d&d character” you giggle knowing Dustin is going to have a million questions for this poor guy today “Yes actually most of my family members names have meanings behind them sometimes because we carry features of ancestry but my name in short term means warrior” “wow that’s so cool I wish we had names that meant something other then I sound like I need a good scrub or something some people like to make fun of me calling me dusty like dirty dusty not like my suzie poo she calls me dustybun but that’s out of endearment others do it out of spite” Koa nods his head “I totally understand when we visit other places people think our names are funny too but you don’t let them have that power over you just act like they’re not even there kill them with kindness I always say”. You & Eddie are grabbing a coffee & chatting off to the side “hey Ed’s you excited?” “Of course I am sweetheart” “good im glad I am too oh before I forget I just wanted to let you know that tomorrow for the first 2 3rds of the day it’s corroded coffin only activities I’m pregnant so there’s some activities I can’t do but that doesn’t mean I want you missing out because of it so you four are going parasailing tomorrow & waterskiing & I set up a reservation at this nice bar for you guys to have dinner & everything while you guys have fun doing that I’m going to take the kids & have a beach day I think they need a free day to just be wild & free & that way you guys can let loose & have a break” he smiles pulling you into his chest fingers playing in your hair kissing the crown of your head “you really are something thank you sweetheart you’re too good to us we don’t know what we did to deserve you” “ah don’t worry about it & I feel the same way about all of you ya know?” He hugs you a little tighter before taking your hand heading back over to everyone beings the very large van has pulled up & Koa is ready to go “Okay everyone let’s go have a good time”. Pulling up the scenery was absolutely breathtaking Koa guiding the group to get suited up letting you Eddie & Mike go first since Mike feels he’s always last you nudge your shoulder into his “you ready bud?” “Yeah totally” you chuckle & the three of you hop into the tank with Koa & the three dolphins caretakers you let Mike tryout going around on his dolphins back first watching his face have about 100 different expressions all at once had you & Eddie in a fit of laughter “come on wheeler you’re doing awesome” that’s when he started to loosen up smiling and laughing himself you’ve never seen him so carefree since you’ve met him he’s always been bit of a grump ass but now you see him fully let go having the time of his life. Next is Eddie his yanks him forward you watch his eyes shoot wide open “SHIT!”

You & Mike are having a ball watch Eddie freak out for the first few minutes before his finally calms down enough for him to actually enjoy it hearing him talking to it like it’s going to answer back was also extremely funny. Now it’s your turn it’s like the animal can sense your hesitancy it nudges it’s nose against the side of your face making a noise Koa laughs “she likes you” “I sure hope so for my sake” the boys chuckle before Mike & Eddie both start giving you a boost in confidence finally latching onto the side of your dolphin it’s like she knew you were fragile cargo taking her time gliding you around the tank you’ve never experienced anything this serene & beautiful. Once you’re finished the next group files in & Koa is busy helping them get adjusted so you three decided to head to the snack bar until they’re all finished. “I gotta run to the bathroom sweetheart I’ll be right back” “okay love” you & Mike take a seat at the table looking over the menu you peer up noticing he seems off again deciding to take the time alone to see what’s going on. “Hey Mike?.. you do know if you ever like need to talk to someone or vent I’m always here right?” His eyebrows pinch together as if he’s shocked you’re even noticing anything is wrong “uh thanks.. I’m just not that used to it I guess everyone at my house is always so busy with their own stuff that at times I feel I guess… invisible & me & El are having some issues & i tried to talk to her about it but she flipped out & we got into an argument right before we left” you nod listening to him spill his guts “you know tomorrow it’s just you three boys and me too we’re gonna have a beach day before we go home I promise that I’ll help you fix as much as I possibly can now as for El what are you guys even arguing about?” “Well the topic of college was brought up ever since we were kids me dustin will & Lucas always said we’d goto cal tech together El doesn’t want to ever go back to California but then I suggested we do long distance if she wanted to go follow her dreams elsewhere & it was like she was angry im not following her I guess… I love her a lot don’t get me wrong but this is my future too I just wanted her to understand am I wrong here women are very confusing no offense” you laugh “Mike were really not that complicated if you really pay attention & from what it sounds like I don’t think it’s that she wants you to not follow your dreams I think deep down she’s scared that you’ll drift apart from being away from each other. Maybe she’s afraid you’ll find someone new or forget about her. Even if you for sure know that’d never happen she’ll always feel that way she’s young & you guys are first loves. I love you two together but I also look at you like my brother & I won’t sugarcoat things most people don’t stay with their first loves. Yes there’s those couples that are rare & they’ve only ever loved one another but it’s not very common. I’m not telling you to leave her or explore options because your heart is where it is I just suggest whatever you do decide you have to make sure you yourself are 100% okay with your choice’s because if you’re not happy how can you make someone else happy you know? Does that make sense?” He thought for a moment “Yeah it does.. I’m just scared I guess” “and that’s normal Mike it truly is any big step in life is scary I was so afraid of letting Eddie in I shut him out at first. Eddie finally returns to the table “I ordered your soda love & got us a sampler tray” “sweet thanks princess” “you’re welcome” you smile Leilani approached with your drinks Mike grabs his straw looking nervously wondering if he’s gonna like it taking a small sip & then he lights up & starts really going for it. “You like that?” He nods not even taking himself away from the cup “yeah when we’d go on vacation with Gareth’s family when we were kids we’d get those at this seafood restaurant they were the best”. The food soon arrives at the table & you don’t know if it’s the baby or you but you feel like you haven’t eaten in days the three of you clearing every dish on the table but yet you still aren’t full. “Eds what time is it?” “Uh.. it’s quarter after 4 sweetheart why?” “Uhhh I’m thinking earlier dinner tonight baby isn’t full yet & neither am I” he chuckles shaking his head he looks so beautiful right now sun kissed skin freckles splayed like the worlds most beautiful set of stars hair blowing through the salty air & his beautiful caramel eyes pulling you in like a magnet before you know it your both nose to nose stealing kisses at the table “gross guys cut it out it’s like sitting watching my parents make out ICKY” you bust out laughing before getting up to go see if the others are ready to head to the next spot. Seeing Koa & the others all gathered by the dolphin experience entrance Dustin comes running up to you three “Hey guys that was so awesome & Lucas screamed like a girl & Jeff cried I wished I had a camcorder it was hilarious!” You’re all laughing as you load onto the bus heading to your last destination for the day before heading back to the resort for dinner & wind down for the night. Pulling up to the nature preserve you all see the most beautiful scenery a waterfall with the bluest water you’ve ever beautiful agriculture just the energy here is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. Koa let’s you all know you’re going for a small hike & then back to the resort. You all walk in a group up a large hilltop & when you finally reach the very top Koa stops taking in a deep breath “this is one of my favorite places you can see the whole island from here” everyone staring in wonder at the site before them “thank you for bringing us here Koa its breathtaking I know if we do get to pick what our Heaven looks like when we go I want it to look just like this” Eddie pulls you close wrapping an arm around your shoulders “it really is gorgeous up here thank you for bringing us all on this vacation it really is gonna be one we’’lol never forget thank you sweetheart” blushing “you’re all very welcome nobody else id rather be here with well besides Wayne poor old man needs a vacation just as much then next one most definitely especially after the baby is born maybe we can rent an rv & do something?” He pulls you in tighter “id love that princess.. so??… what do you think we’re having a boy or girl?” It takes you a split second to answer “I’m happy as long as they are healthy I know that no matter what gender the baby may be that it’ll have the best dad & mom & aunts & uncles & grandpa ever. Why? Is there a preference you’re having?” “No not really I was just curious they say sometimes people just know I’m trying to figure it out but I got nothing yet. When’s you’re appointment again?” “Uh it’s like 4 days after we get home I figured we’d need time to adjust after getting back”. Heading down the hill back to the bus to head to the resort you all board & everybody falls asleep on the way back except for gareth who’s in protective brother mode watching over since everyone else is out like a light. Pulling into the front of the resort hotel gareth wake’s everyone up & you all pile out into the lobby “okay guys it’s 6:30 let’s all get changed we’ll meet back here in 30 minutes & head to dinner sound good?” Everyone agrees & goes to get changed meeting back exactly when you ask. “Okay Hawaiian BBQ tonight guys babies hungry so follow the trail on the left side of the lobby doors & its supposed to lead us right to it”.

You all get there & it’s just as beautiful as every other place you’ve eaten so far except this place is wall to wall flowers & it smells amazing between the floral arrangements & the food your senses are on overload. The boys see a bunch of pigs cooking on spits over large fires “that’s so cool I’ve never actually seen one of these in person before” Dustin being naturally curious & excited “it smells amazing too” Lucas chimes in “I’m starving” you & Mike say at the same exact time causing everyone to laugh “hello my name is Malia how can I help you this evening?” “Hello we have a reservation under Munson?” “Ah yes party of 8 right this way we have a section reserved just for you the hotel manager called ahead & let us know there were newlyweds on their way for a reservation so we went ahead & set a special spot for you all again my name is Malia & I’ll be your server this evening if you’ll follow me I’ll have you seated & take drink orders upon my return” you all follow behind to a small hall in the back inside is one large table with 8 chairs exactly with a set up that puts your wedding reception to shame. “Wow this looks amazing” Lucas staring down the whole room as you all begin to be seated. “Okay what can I get everyone to drink?” You speak up first “for the gentlemen tonight any bottle they’d like for the table I’d like a Virgin bay breeze please & boys do you guys want soda or?..” “I don’t know what Jamie is getting but I know she’s pregnant & can’t drink so we’ll try what she’s having” Lucas says & the boys seem fine with the decision “okay then a bottle for the gentleman & four virgin bay breezes” “okay boys the wife just handed me the drink menu what should we get fellas?” Scanning over they have no clue what to get you take it back from him giggling “I’ve got this now hun you look confused Malia they’ll take a bottle of your finest local rum thank you so much” “okay I’ll put that right in & be back with the dinner menus & specials for tonight” “thank you Malia” Jeff’s cheeks are so red someone definitely has a crush you poke Eddie getting him to catch on & you both chuckle. Malia comes back with everyone’s drinks the bottle for the guys & 4 glasses as well as the dinner menus. “Enjoy I’ll be back in 10 to take your orders” “thank you again”. You all decided to get a little bit of everything so you can all share & try it all Malia looks so happy with all that your ordering & upon taking our orders she informs us that tonight we only are being charged half the bill as a gift & free dessert which made the kids extremely happy this was definitely a meal you’ll never forget everything was absolutely delicious the presentation alone deserved an award you’re all so stuffed by the time your meal is through that you take dessert to go all making it easier for Malia by all getting the coconut cream lava cake & tipping her the half of the bill you saved her eyes popping in shock “Mrs this is too much I couldn’t” shaking her head so you take both of her hands “you can & you will you’re a delightful person & you’ve made my honeymoon something to remember so please take it & thank you for the amazing service” “thank you Mrs” “you can call me Jamie” “well thank you Jamie I appreciate this so much my son he’s been ill & this will help me pay for the medicine he needs god bless you” her eyes watering now making you emotional too you go into your bag & grab a pencil & paper “here is my number when I get home & if you ever need to vent you call me okay & send your son our love & prayers have a beautiful night Malia“ “you as well Jamie thank you so so much”. You all head back to the hotel you decided to go barefoot wanting to feel the sand for as long as possible before home called & you wouldn’t be able to. “Thanks for dinner & everything Jamie & Eddie we’re all beat & gonna hit the hay what time is everything tomorrow?” “You guys have to be ready by 11am & me & the boys are leaving for the beach by noon goodnight everyone” “yeah goodnight guys” you & Eddie waive heading to your room for much needed sleep.

I'm sure this has been done a gazillion times, but I'm here to share my thoughts on what I think the marauders, valkyries, skittles, and co's patroni would've been! (I know that it's been said that Death Eaters can't cast Patroni, but I honestly think that's bologna).

(I also know that the patronus charm isn't technically in the Hogwarts' curriculum, but I honestly don't care).

Let's start with the canon Patroni!

James Potter: Prongs. (Stag).

Sirius Black: Padfoot. (Dog).

Remus Lupin: Prefers non-corporeal, but it's a wolf.

(You ever realize that James and Lily's patroni were super similar? (Duh) Well, you know who else has super similar looking patroni... Sirius and Remus. Just saying).

Peter Pettigrew: Wormtail. (Rat).

Lily Evans: Doe.

Alice Fortescue/Longbottom: I think her's would be a horse! She has this graceful strength that I think is so admirable. (Obviously her bravery in the canon series is one of the big reasons for this).

Frank Longbottom: I've always seen his as a meerkat. Meerkats are super loyal and don't accept threats to those they love. They just scream 'Frank' to me!

Emmeline Vance: I believe her's in canon is non-corporeal, but I wanted to give her one anyways! I think hers would be an otter! They're just so excited and energetic, and that is how I see Emmeline.

Dorcas Meadowes: A fox! Foxes are super intuitive and ambitious, and Dorcas is just... what can I say, she's the ultimate girlboss.

Regulus Black: I know so many people think his is a cat, and while I can see that, I personally think his is a panther. (Still technically a cat!) A panther is a strong-willed animal would isn't afraid to stand up to anything.

(You may be wondering "that doesn't sound like Regulus at all," and you're right, it doesn't. It sounds more like Sirius. I did that on purpose. I think his happiest memory has to be him and Sirius when they were younger, and so I think his patronus manifests as a mix of him and Sirius.)

Barty Crouch Jr: His is a mongoose! Mongeese are extremely intelligent, and can be very friendly, however, they're also very unpredictable. They can represent impulsiveness and rebellion, which is just so Barty to me.

Evan Rosier: "Raccoons act out when held captive." Need I say more?

Pandora Rosier/Lovegood: I think Pandy's patronus is a swan! Swans are graceful and emotionally intelligent, and I think that suits sweet Pandora's personality perfectly!

Xenophilius Lovegood: I think his would be a chameleon. (Is this partially because of what he did when Luna was taken? And because chameleons represent easy and sudden change? Yeah, maybe a little but hear me out). Chameleons are able to easily adapt and change, and I think that sounds like Xenophilius. That's all! Roman - obviously, very disney themed or prince themed. He'd prefer red pacifiers, because it's his colour !!!, but will make an exception if it's a character he likes.

The 1st 1 is a Queen of Hearts themed paci, but I think Roman would love all the red details and especially the little crown. I also think Roman loves lilo & stitch (more than usual when he's regressing) & would have a blue paci if it means he can have stitch on his paci.

(Also I think stitch reminds him of his brother Remus and he loves his brother! Even if big him denies it)

Orange - we haven't met him, but I think he loves orange juice and probably has a paci covered in oranges. (Big him is so upset everyone keeps comparing him to an orange and gets even more upset that little him loves oranges).

It can be any colour and decorated any way, but it has to have a snake (or multiple, preferably). He also loves when his pacis are the colour of his caregiver(s)!!

Remus - bright green and covered in as many charms and jewels as he can put on it. Once it becomes unusable and he starts all over with a new one!! I think he has a gir from invader zim center piece or a skelanimal (most likely lolita the dolphin).

He also 100% somehow chews through the all rubber pieces of his binkie . No one knows how he does it.

Patton - FROGS !!! He most likely owns like 20 pacis and theyre all different. One has a frog centerpiece and another one has a dog and another one has a rabbit and another one has a cat— he needs a million (even if logan tells him its impossible to own a million). He likes to switch out through out the day, he doesn't want any paci feeling unloved !!!

I bet he also loves pacis with shakers!

Logan - probably has around 3 or 4 pacis that he switches through, but his most used is something that looks like the one below. He also has his CG (or himself) glue on little letters that spells out "little star" :)

The rest of his pacis are dark blue with various themes, like doctor who and ocean animals! He has a bingo paci too (He loves bluey!)

Virgil - i found this one and this is SO virgil. He probably goes all out for his binkies !! He wants his binkie to be "spoopy", but not super scary or else he gets really scared (remus once tried gifting him one that was just a little too much for baby virgil & he couldnt sleep alone for weeks).

He uses one paci at a time, usually for months, but once he gets tired of it, he will swap it out.

C!Thomas - has a steven universe paci. It's red with a yellow shaker full of little stars (like steven's shirt)

Okay so- Fairytail actually showed a few other designs of celestial spirits when they partied at the celestial spirit world. UNOFFICIALLY NAMED BUT SOME OTHER SPIRITS ARE SHOWN TO EXIST AND ACKNOWLEDGED BY CANON!!! Seeing as the Celestial Spirit King states 88 constellations, I’ll try only basing the amount to basically 88 spirits since it’s canonized. Although i think unofficial constellations would also still exist, I’m not 100% certain. (Also, I’m not sure whether or not to count the Celestial Spirit King as a constellation since idk what he’s based after, what the heck is he supposed to be??? He doesn’t count unless i know his constellation. CEPHUS IS THAT YOU?!!? But then if so he’s missing the queen Cassiopeia and princess Andromeda. So i guess not?)

Counting down all 12 zodiacs! Plus Ophiuchus! 🔑 That makes 75 down to go already!

Crux, Horologium, Lyra, Plue aka Nikora aka Canis Minor, Caelum, Pyxis, Polaris aka Ursa Minor, and Deneb aka Cygnus makes for 8 silver key🗝️ spirits! 67 left! Or more like 21 spirits shown!

I should note that the website I’m using apparently states there’s 42 animals, 14 humans, 2 chimeras (cross/mix between multiple creatures), 28 objects, and 2 nature. Now, Fairytail took the liberties of mixing up the forms and they can technically all shapeshift, which explains why Aquarius is a mermaid (half human half fish), why Aries and Leo and Cancer Scorpio and Deneb are all anthropomorphic human-like with animal features, while Capricorn and Taurus are leaning towards their animal counterpart with human-ish-ness, Pisces have both animal and human-like forms, Gemini are… something, Ophiuchus is actually supposed to be a dude holding a snake(?), and Pyxis is part compass and part penguin (i actually like that one because the north pole). Therefore! These creatures can be anything!!!!! Edit: my website is inaccurate because a SEA GOAT IS A GOAT AND A FISH COMBINED and for some reason isn’t counted as a chimera 🤦🏻 close enough

I’m also assuming there’s multiple types of silver key spirits because they’re 1: not rare because what makes the golden keys so different is that there are only 1 of each, thereby implying there’s multiple silver keys of each. 2: There’s multiple Canis Minor dogs.

Okay back to this. Starting from right to left: (not including Lyra because i already counted her before).

The crown is either the Southern Crown or the Northern Crown👑. I think it’s the North because of its shape, aka Corona Borealis. 22☑️

That blue-ish creature without ears- I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to have ears 👂🏻 but the word covered it up and so the animators didn’t translate that onto animation either. But there isn’t any animal constellations besides bear🐻 that could look like that creature… but if Ursa Minor aka Polaris is that giant pink robotic mecha machine… then how would this be Ursa Major which is the only other bear constellation? My only guess is that there’s multiple Ursa Minors, and this is one of the forms it can take. Because Ursa Major should be bigger than Ursa Minor, right?

That white bird with human head hair… it looks more like a swan 🦢 but that’s technically taken up by Deneb (who I’d add has black feathers). I assume this is another one of those silver key quirks where there are technically more than one, so this counts as another Deneb but with regular white feathers and more animalistic features. Or it’s the Crane, which sorta looks similar but it’s beak isn’t dark… hm…

The purple dolphin! 🐬 yes! Now that is new! Delphinus the star is a Porpoise which is a species related to dolphins i think!!! 23☑️

If you look carefully, the text is covering up another dog. Since there is another dog constellation that doesn’t need to be big, I’ll claim this one as Canes Venatici the hunting dogs (although there should be 2 I’m claiming it anyways!!!). 36☑️.

These next two are the tricky ones because they’re objects but idk which ones. I know there’s a part of a ship stars which sound confusing enough, so I think these could be it. Actually nevermind, it kinda looks like a boring but weird looking cup🏆 Crater(?), or that vessel since that’s also a large cup Ara the Alter? It does look like a cup because to top part is rounded? Edit: it has a handle!

The left one could be the boat’s hilt🚢 or Stern of Argonauts’ ship aka Puppis. I’m more confidant on this one. That little guy really looks like the edge of a ship. Idk why it looks like it’s hiding inside that thingy tho it’s cute. 37☑️

The anime didn’t exactly translate it properly, in fact it seemed to combine 3 panels into one. The panels of the Nikora with Happy and Carla alongside the celestial spirits we’ve never seen before. It leaves out the hiding ship edge looking thingy and fish (probably because a fish next to Happy doesn’t bode well 😅) and changed the colour of the Peacock to pink for some reason. This scene was moves very annoyingly in a way that I’d have to take multiple pictures to get all the details of just one each spirit 😠 grrrrrr

So yeah that’s the dog again but it looks even smaller in the anime than it did in the manga. But that thingy that I said before looked like a cup? It actually looks more clearly like Forax the Furnace! There a random skinnier top part like a chimney and the bottom part is bigger where you cook! I think. Now that I’m looking back at the manga, there’s clearly meant to be a handle on the bottom part of the left side. So this is most certainly Forax! The anime makes him look too fleshy than mechanical tho… 40☑️ and his telescope🔭 doesn’t look alive but Telescopium is a constellation too 👀 (I won’t count it for now…)

I think I only read Taran Wanderer from the library, but The Black Cauldron was probably just misplaced in a move.

Shockingly I don't actually have a copy of The Little Princess despite obviously loving that book. I can't specifically remember where and how I read it though! It seems very likely that I had a copy and it just got left behind like most of my childhood bedroom, but I can't 100% swear to it.

From Tiamat to Leviathan to Jormundgandr, sea serpents are some of my favorite dragons, but unfortunately, a lot of works seem portray them as the lesser kin of “true” dragons, if they’re related at all. Even Dragonology has them as separate from dragons, even when they have the obscure knucker and the entirety made up marsupial dragon. And I say that’s bullshit! Sea serpents are just as awesome as flying fire breathing dragons! In fact, I say they’re even more awesome, and that’s why I’m putting them in my fantasy setting!

The name Leviathan is specifically from the Biblical monster of the sea, but there’s traits from a lot of other sea serpents. Instead of the biblical Leviathan’s fire, their breath weapon is a black necrotic liquid which the Norse Jormundgandr would spit out. I believe I’ve seen stuff about how sea serpents have a single horn upon their forehead, but I don’t quite remember where.

Their ecology is pretty similar to toothed whales, being active predators in the open ocean. Unlike toothed whales, they’re able to indefinitely be underwater due to magic, and can even dive into the abyss completely fine. That’s part of why they have red markings (red is the first color to lose visibility underwater). I considered making them bioluminescent, but I scrapped that. They use glowing tools, though! As for design basis, a lot of it is pretty standard sea serpent, but the little legs are based on a lizard I saw in a tumblr post, since they wouldn’t use their legs for walking or anything.

I know people say the humans of the RDA seem too cartoonishly evil (Quaritch's "shoot that animal over there" line gives this some merit, for example 💀), but if you know like 4 things the American government and CIA has done and kept secret from the public (then fully admitted to later), and how ruthless and exploitive capitalist oligarchs can be against the environment and people, the RDA's evils arent really that far off from reality.

Billionaires and corperations hoard wealth from the masses and are proven to exploit class power dynamics to create monopolies, exploit the poor, kill and suppress worker resistance, and fund massive psy-ops in support of their companies. Capitalism and neo-liberalism erode the morals of those who hoard and perpetually seek out capital because it takes a lack of morality to protect the needs of capital, which is why a dollar is worth more than clean water, air, and even human beings.

Companies fund hits on activists and use police power to violently suppress protests and protect assets to increase profits. CEOs of massive companies and their shareholders openly admit to knowing the environmental destruction of things like plastic and oil, yet open, saturate, and dominate markets to churn out products made from such things (including combustion engine cars and everything plastic) and expand slavery dependent business models to cut costs on production and maximize profits. Monolpolies shape whole economies and structure them to perpetuate production of destuctive, non-renewable products globally.

These neoliberal and capitalist operations of the real world are represented by the RDA's monopoly on unobitanium, a resource Earth relies upon entirely for energy because of market monopolies against alternatives. Its also shown by Earth itself becoming uninhabitable and polluted by consumerism, war, and resource disallocation, and the RDA's exploitaton of benevolent sciences, like xenoanthropology and xenobiology, to open markets for lucrative resources and help preserve the human resources against the Na'vi in diplomatic relations (Grace Augustines school, RDA biologists and lìnguists, etc). Cameron included The Cove inspired scenes of whale hunting and black market trade in AWOW as a specific example of the venture capitalist cruelty and morbidity of whaling, dolphin hunting, and other ocean industries known to cause ecological decay and destruction, which went along his theme of climate change and protecting the oceans.

As for governments, I saw one comment in the Avatar Discord asking how masses of people can be mislead about the violence and failures of such a massively expensive, resource expending project like Pandoran colonization since the visual dictionary revealed that the RDA has been endorsed/funded by several national governments, and all I could think was the blood soaked foerign policy of the U$ federal government and its CIA adjacent NGOs for the past 100 years in the global south, and the CIA's/FBI's ubiquitous and violently successful counter-revolutionary campaigns, psy-ops, and class war operations on domestic soil (like COINTELPRO, "war on drugs", & white supremacist, anti-communist propaganda).

I think its a shame Cameron's "humans vs Na'vi" oversimplified writing overshadows the very accurate portrayal of how reprehensible and morally depraved capitalists/neoliberal governments, companies, and militaries are. Its understandable that a human audience would sympathize with human colonizers trying to seek out ways to keep human life on Earth on life support. And its also understandable for humans to put their species first, since I dont think its necessarily anthropocentric to do so. But Cameron is very explicit in the films about who and what is the enemy and I dont think he means to portray non-humans as "good" and humans as "bad" and indefinitely corrupted.

Although his knowledge and commentary on colonialism, capitalism and imperialosm are very rudimentary (what can you really expect from a rich old white amerikan man lmao), Avatar opens up important conversations about such themes and challenges the audience to ultimately source the root problems on exploitive and destructive systems and ideologies, while supporting actions that would hold those who perpetuate such systems accountabile for their roles in violence and greed. The story isnt about misanthropy but about human accountability, alternatives, and rehabilitation.

Avatar isnt the only story or franchise to expose and criticize the ideologies that led the humans to unsustainable economies, mass destruction, and suppression of alternatives on Earth, and intergalactic search to keep the broken same system going. There are fare earlier and better fictional and non-fictional works exploring these pressing issues told by colonized and Indigenous people that Avatar fans should definitely seek out. Avatar is a palatable yet accessible fictional introduction on conversations many are in the dark about concerning the evils of capitalism, imperialism, and colonialism and the "cartoonishly evil" agents that perpetuate and protect it irl.

Neophocaena asiaeorientalis better known as the jiangtun or the Yangtze finless porpoise is a species of of toothed whale in the porpoise family Phocoenidae, is endemic to the Yangtze River in China. They are one of the world’s only freshwater porpoises and tend to be found in shallow bay areas, swamps, lakes, and estuaries where the feed upon various species of fish and crustaceans. Like most cetaceans they are a highly social species which lives in pods as little as 3 to as many as 20 individuals. Rather than vocalizing via chirps and whistles, as most dolphin species do, these porpoises use echolocation and ultrasonic pulses to communicate with one another. They are also know to sleep in shift like cycles, with active porpoises occasionally supporting there lethargic compatriots with there backs. Tho this is particularly common with parents and there offspring. Reaching some 5 to 7.5ft (1.5 to 2.3m) in length and 100 to 160lbs (45 to 72kg) in weight, with males being larger than females, the Yangtze finless porpoise is one of the smaller cetaceans. They sport large curved flippers with pointed tips, a stocky grey to black body that slims towards the tail, and a unique very steep head lacking a beak. Instead of a dorsal fin, these porpoises have a dorsal ridge or "groove" that is covered in varying rows of tubercles. Breeding occurs in late spring and early summer, and after a ten to 11 month pregnancy a mother Yangtze finless porpoise will give birth to a single offspring called a calf. Under ideal conditions a Yangtze finless porpoise may live upwards of 30 years. The Yangtze finless porpoise is considered critically endangered and it is estimated that only about 1,000 remain.
