It's there that I met him, sulking in a corner between his grandparents, grey eyes which had a yellow shine under the sun. That frown and sad attempt at rebellious uneven eyeliner were too cute, he was Vivi's cousin from her mother's side. His grandparents were lost on how to deal with a grumpy teenager, I could clearly see he wanted to go explore on his own, and his grandparents wanted to catch up with other guests they were meeting after a long time.

Softly Stained with Spring
Part 1: Plans Made and Ruined
note: This fic is a collaboration for @lawlu-week with @yumenofude who created this amazing artwork which perfectly portrays the story, and who also helped me with thinking of the initial storyline.
rating:Â T (maybe M)
tags: canon universe, fluff and angst, hanahaki
summary: Lawâbeing with him is the best feeling imaginable. Itâs the perfect kind of happiness mixed with a little excitement. Just having adventures with Law makes those adventures all the more exciting.Â
_______________________________
âIâm all in!â Luffy declares, pushing his poker chips into the middle of the table. His eyes dart nervously over the other two members of his crew still in the game, lips pursed, eyebrows raised. Â
Heâs never been a good liar but heâs trying so hard to win. If all goes well heâll be able to make enough money to pay his debt to Nami, in return for which sheâs agreed to coordinate a meeting with Lawâs navigator to bring him there sooner than planned.
Luffyâs heart does a happy little flip inside his ribs at the thought. His stomach feels all⊠bubbly, like itâs full of really fizzy, shaken up cola. Itâs a weird feeling, but he kind of likes it. Â
He shuffles his cards around in his hands. He doesnât really know if theyâre good or not, but theyâve got  hearts on them, so heâs got a good feeling about it. Law has hearts on him and he gets good feelings just thinking about Law.
Lawâbeing with him is the best feeling imaginable. Itâs the perfect kind of happiness mixed with a little excitement. Law is fun to be with. Itâs thrilling to fight alongside him. And he makes silly plans even though they don't really work, because how can anyone predict the future and plan the exact best way to handle it? But in any case, just having adventures with Law makes those adventures all the more... exciting? Luffy would use the word âfunâ for their adventures too except Dressrosa wasn't actually all that fun. Law had been hurting really badly. It made him angry to think of it even now. Law didnât deserve that. Law-
âWhatâs with that array of faces, Luffy?â Sanji asks from across the table. âSmiling one second then scowling the next. You purposely trying to make yourself hard to read?â
âLa- what?â Luffyâs only half heard the question.
Usopp regards him with a raised eyebrow, sly smile on his lips and now suddenly Luffyâs much too aware that heâs been caught thinking of Law. He can feel his cheeks heating up, though he doesnât really get why thinking about other people catching him thinking about Law makes him get all hot. Itâs not really a bad feeling, just weird how he only feels like this when itâs about Law.
Sanji nudges Usopp, âYou gonna call?â
âIâll go easy on you guys this time. Itâs not easy playing against a real card shark like me,â Usopp says confidently, laying his cards on the table, âI fold.â
Sanji leans back in his chair, taking a long drag on his cigarette as he inspects his cards. He squints at Luffy briefly before tossing his cards on the table. âSame here. I fold,â he concedes.
Luffyâs about to declare his victory when Nami herself interjects. Â
âHey, Luffy, Bepo says Torao wants to talk to you,â she calls across the deck as she leans out the door of her navigatorâs office, her hand over the receiver of the den-den mushi she keeps.
Luffy immediately sheds all of his playing cards on the table to cries of âWhat?! He didnât have anything after all!â and âGoddamnit Luffy! Why canât you just be consistently shit at lying?!â
He dashes over to the door, hands grabbing for the receiver but Nami holds it away from him as she retreats into her office asking, âDid you win me lots of money?â
âYeah, is Torao coming over?â Luffy follows her in, stretching to snatch the receiver from her without waiting for an answer.
His heart flutters light and happy at the thought of seeing the other captain again. It makes him euphoric, but maybe a little nervous. He doesnât really get these feelings either, but heâs pretty addicted to the way it feels when he thinks about Lawâhe just canât get enough. And as much as he likes thinking about Law, thatâs nothing compared to actually talking to Law, or better yet, seeing him in person which is what heâs sure is about to happen in the near future. âTorao!â he cries into the receiver, his excitement brimming over.
âMugiwara-ya, I thought we agreed to meet in two weeksâ time,â Law speaks through the den den mushi, just a hint of annoyance on his voice, âCanât you for once stick to a plan?â The snail mirrors Lawâs apparent expression, frowning at him. Is Law disappointed? Is he mad?
No.
No, this isnât right.
Luffy can feel his heart pounding anxious against his ribs, itâs happy fluttering turning to panicked skipping. Worries that he wasnât even aware that heâd had now begin flooding into his mind. He doesnât want to think that heâs done something wrong. He was just trying to organize a get-together. Does it mean Law is mad at himâthat he wonât come? He thought Law liked seeing him too. Law should like seeing him too. But Law doesnât seem happy. He doesnât seem like he likes seeing him too. Lawâs not just tolerating him because theyâre allies, right?
âSo whatâs your reason for calling a meeting this time?â Law speaks through a sigh.
âI donât wanna wait two weeks. I wanna-â Luffy starts. A sudden, sharp pain shoots through his chest, cutting off his words. He nearly drops the receiver, instinctively clutching his chest. He pauses a moment, hand over the scar that marks him. What a strange feelingâlike something attacking him from the inside.
He leans over Namiâs desk trying to steady his breathing, willing his pain away as much as he can. His whole chest suddenly feels so tight. The heart beneath his shaking palm thumping so hard he half-thinks it might fall out if he moved his hand.
âYouâre breathing into the phone pretty heavily. Is everything alright?â Law asks, voice calm, serious.
âYeah, Iâm- ah!â almost as soon as he opens his mouth, the sharp pain is back, piercing him like a knife. He tries to take a deep breath and it stabs through his chest again. Luffy doubles over, leaning onto Namiâs desk, knocking over her mapping utensils, crumpling the map under his arm, but heâs hesitant to move any more.
âSpeak to me,â Law tells him.
âIt- hurts,â Luffy manages to grit out, panting shallow through his teeth.
âGet yourself to Tony-ya. Iâll be there in two days,â and with those terse words the line goes dead.
The next few minutes pass in a haze. Luffy doesnât know if he hung up the den den mushi and he doesnât know if he knocked more of Namiâs stuff on the floor on his way out, but he somehow makes it down the hall to Chopperâs medical office. Luffy leans against the door, pushing it open with the weight of his body as he stumbles in.
"Luffy, what's wrong!?" Chopper cries, immediately abandoning his book to run to his captain's aid. He helps him to sit down on the infirmary bed.
"I didn't do anything, it just hurts here," Luffy insists through gritted teeth. He's apprehensive about moving his hand from over his heart in case it might cause the stabbing pain again. Heâs never felt anything like it. He canât even guess whatâs going on with his body.
Chopper reaches for his stethoscope at his desk. He places the ear pieces into his ears and rejoins Luffy on the bed. He takes Luffy's hand from his chest, holding onto his wrist as he places the stethoscopeâs cool metal against his chest to listen to his heart. Chopper listens intently for what feels like much too long without saying anything. Then he instructs Luffy to lay down and uses a stethoscope to listen around in what seems like random places on his chest. Whatever Chopperâs doing it seems like itâs working because Luffyâs starting to feel a lot calmer. The pain is only kind of a little bit of a tightness inside of him nowâlike his heart is getting a hug from his lungs or something.
Whatever is happening to him is not fun, and Luffy doesnât want to repeat the experience. Unfortunately for him, his body doesnât seem to agree.
⊠⊠⊠⊠âŠ
âSo, what are we dealing with?â Law asks the small, antlered doctor as they pace down the hall toward the Thousand Sunnyâs infirmary.
Chopper flips through several papers secured onto his clipboard before answering. âWell, the patient has been suffering from bouts of chest pain. I havenât yet been able to find the cause. During the episodes he says thereâs pain when he takes deep breaths, but there are no other symptoms that would suggest anything like pulmonary embolus or pleurisy.â The tiny reindeer doctor is taking his job very seriously. He seems to be doing his best at dealing with his captain objectively. He refers to him as âthe patientâ although he speaks the words with a heavy-hearted wavering in his voice. It makes him sound as if he could break down at any confirmation that itâs Luffy theyâre talking about.
âAnd this all started two days ago?â Law follows as Chopper slides open the door of the infirmary. Â
âMy heart hurts,Torao,â Luffy whines from the infirmary bed when he sees him. âI donât like it.â
âThanks for your efforts doctor. If you donât mind, Iâd like to examine him myself,â Law addresses Chopper.
Heâs heard that Chopperâs been looking after Luffy almost constantly over the past two days, and Luffy is always a pretty tough patient to handle. Law wouldnât blame him if he felt relief at leaving his patient in his hands.
Itâs not that Law doesnât trust Chopper as a medical professional or that he takes a personal interest in this particular patient. Itâs rather the case that he prefers to assess the patient to gain his own insight into the situation. It never hurts to have a second opinion.
Law takes his own stethoscope from around his shoulders to give his patient a standard preliminary check-up. Law tries not to feel too self conscious from the way Luffy stares up at him, those big, obsidian-dark eyes following his every movement. Law tries not to read too much into the situationâtries not to imagine that itâs his touch which triggers the soft blush on Luffyâs cheeks.
Law has to chase away inappropriate thoughts from his mind. He needs to remain professional, and focus on his work here. In the end he notes no irregularities, and even though Luffyâs heart seems to be racing bit, all of his vitals are well within normal range.
âWhat were you doing when you first felt chest pain?â he asks Luffy as he takes the clipboard from Chopperâs desk, flipping through the notes.
âTalking to you.â
âAnd the next time it happened?â
âChecking with Nami that you were still coming.â âAnd this morning?â
âEating pre-breakfast.â
âPre-breakfast?â This is something Law has never heard of, and heâs stayed with the Strawhats for long enough to know that itâs not something their cook would indulge in.
âWell, since you were coming I went to the kitchen to eat all the food you donât like.â Luffy explains, ââcause youâre really picky, and-â âI am not picky. I just donât like bread-â Law interjects âand pickled plums,â Luffy supplies.
âYou remember that?â Law wouldnât have expected him to remember any detail about him let alone that in particular. Luffy just doesnât seem like the type to notice things.
âYeah, âcause that one time you got one in your onigiri at lunch and you were surprised and spit it out. And I caught it in my mouth!â Luffy reminds him proudly.
âThat was disgusting,â Law thinks. âThat was tasty,â Luffy says with a wide smile. He seems to be feeling better for now.
âWell,â Law hums, flipping over the pages and setting Chopperâs clipboard aside. âNobody can find anything physically wrong with you. So Iâm going to go ahead and assume itâs stress-related anxiety. I suggest you let me keep you under observation while you take a rest.â That earns him an exasperated huff from the small, adventure-loving captain. âThereâs an island called Rosales nearby. Itâs a popular tourist spot,â Law continues. âItâs renown for its flowers, but I hear thereâs some unique local cuisine that you canât find elsewhere in the world.â He hesitates to go any further but by the look on his face, Luffy doesnât seem entirely sold on an ambiguous promise of unique foods. âIf you agree to a relaxing vacation, Iâll call ahead and reserve us a table at a restaurant with a buffet,â Law tries.
This earns him an emphatic âYes!â from an excited Luffy who jumps up and runs out of the room, shouting to his crew about a new adventure.
Law does not have ulterior motivesâabsolutely not. He is not at all trying to smooth-talk his way into a date with his ally. Thatâs right, he simply is looking out for the well being of his alliance and nothing more.

LawLu 2k19 Week, Day 9: Thousand Sunny and Polar Tang
Well... how do I explain it... because this is what I came up with.
Notes and Warnings: Dorks in Love. Obvious feelings.
He knows
The first time Mugiwara-ya was in the Polar Tang, his mind had been turned off, his body may have been there, but he was never entirely present.
Trafalgar law had spent the nights by his side, taking care of his body and vital signs, intervening after the surgery only when it was necessary, after all Mugiwara-ya wasnât the only patient.
Even when he couldnât be on his side he left Kikoku. The nodachi seemed to have taken a liking to the captain who practically begged to stay in the room.
âHe hears everything.â Kikoku whispered to him once. âHeâs like you.â
Trafalgar faded the comment as one more night of insomnia and lumbar pain due to his couch.
Mugiwara-ya occupied his bed, oxygen tubes and monitors around him, the sound of his heartbeat being the only sound in his room. He preferred to work or rest in absolute silence, but it was rare to see it in the younger captain.
From the auction house the grey-eyed captain understood that Mugiwara-ya and silence were like water and oil.
His eyes couldnât close, he couldnât get a few hours of sleep.
Trafalgar sat on the sofa, massaging his forehead and watching his patient.
When will Mugiwara-ya wake up? He wondered, and could only hope it would be soon.
He needed his bed back.
âœâ âŸ
Torao disliked the noise, that was too obvious, even for him, but he was still his friend.
âYouâre the captain,â Trafalgar said on his first night in Sunny. There was no guest room, but under no circumstances he was going to share a room with the entire male crew of the Straw Hats. âI canât believe you donât have a chamber of your own.â
âNami and Robin have theirs.â Luffy answered, âHanging out with them is fun. Brook always tells horror stories, and then we have pillow fights.â
âEven so,â Trafalgar looked away, âIsnât there a time youâd rather be alone?â
Luffy seemed to think about it, âMaybe, but then I start to feel bad, Chopper said something about anxiety.â
Trafalgar kept his comment and lay down on the comfortable sofa of the aquarium. At least here it was impossible to hear the sound from the outside, and although that made him a little paranoid, it also relaxed him.
Trafalgar slid open one of his eyes, and Mugiwara-ya was sitting next to him. âDo you need something?â
âNope.â Luffy didnât move from his place.
âSo?â Trafalgar began to become an expert in Luffyâs mannerisms.
âArenât you gonna be lonely staying here?â
Trafalgar sighed, returning to his place, âItâs a good place to think.â
Luffy seemed to nod, crossing his arms, looking for something in the aquarium. Once Luffy seemed to find it, he got up from his place and came back with what appeared to be a sleeping bag.
Trafalgar didnât say anything, he wasnât going to change anything by telling Mugiwara to leave, thatâd only make the boy more stubborn and possibly end up in another awkward situation.
Putting the sleeping bag to his liking, Luffy dropped on it.
Trafalgar was about to close his eyes and rest for at least a couple of hours, then he felt small hands take his.
Luffy was staring at the tattooed fingers.
âThank you for saving me that day.â Luffy spoke, didnât seem to expect the other captain to answer back. He placed Toraoâs hand upon his forehead, âThatâs how it felt.â
Trafalgar felt a pressure in his stomach, it was nothing bad, just weird.
Heâd have liked to say something, perhaps, if it hadnât been for Luffy having already fallen asleep, squeezing his hand.
Trafalgar looked at Kikoku, âSo this is what you meant when you said he hears everything.â

10 Days of LawLu Day 9: Thousand Sunny and Polar Tang / Captainâs QuartersÂ
âWhat do you mean, you donât have a captainâs quarters?âÂ
âI mean I donât have a captainâs quarters.â Luffy frowned. âWhy would I want to sleep away from all my friends?âÂ
âItâs a symbol of your authority, having a room to yourself,â Law explained, scowling and continuing to regret his decision to ally with the Strawhats with every passing minute.Â
âWhat room would I even sleep in? Thereâs the kitchen, but I donât like the couch and Sanji would get mad. Um, the bathroomâs uncomfy, too.â Luffy frowned. âThe menâs room and the womenâs room are the only places with the good beds. And Nami would get mad if I tried to sleep in her bed.âÂ
âUsually the ship comes with a separate room and bed,â Law said slowly.Â
âOh. But Franky didnât build that, and I didnât ask him to. Like I said, I donât care. Why do you? Do you have a room to yourself? Why?âÂ
âBecause Bepoâs like a furnace in such cramped quarters, Shachi kicks in his sleep---âÂ
âSanji does that, too, thatâs why Chopper doesnât sleep with him, and I heard Sanji say heâs sad about that---âÂ
â---Penguin talks in his---What?---he talks in his sleep sometimes, and then everyone else talks back. I have enough trouble sleeping as it is. Besides, I just prefer to be alone.âÂ
âMaybe you sleep bad because youâre alone all the time.âÂ
Law knocked Luffy on the head with his sword. âDonât psychoanalyze me. Leave me alone.âÂ
âWhatâs psycoantalize? And no.âÂ
Law raised his hand, concentrating, and Luffy was gone in an instant.Â

Please don't let this nightmare become reality
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
@lawlu-week day 2: dreams
A/N: this was supposed to be updated yesterday but I forgot about it -_- welp anywhore I hope you like it ^^ this was inspired by a comic and I unfortunately can't link it due to the fact I'm on mobile but once I am back on my computer I'll link the comic but anyways hope you like it it's a little Canon diverse so yeah ^^
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
He knew this would happen, he knew it the minute he challenged Doflamingo he knew he was going to die.
He knew it was inedible and he was actually okay with it, he finally avenge the death of his beloved adoptive father and killed the man responsible for his death.
Yes it cost him his life, but in the end it was worth it, his life and Doflamingo's end was worth it...after all if it was his life he had to pay for killing that disgusting man than it was a price worth paying.
The battle was a tough one hell he was certain it would be his last one but it didn't matter Doflamingo is dead and the world is free of one less dangerous criminal.
He can rest in peace knowing his long life dream was complete.
"Law..."
That voice...it sounded like Luffy...was that Luffy?
A giggled filled his ears. It sound familiar...Law opened his eyes and was surprised to see nothing but darkness, huh weird he always pictured a white tunnel leading him to Hell not some dark room.
Realistically hell was the only place for someone like Law so...is that were he was? Was he in hell? He had to be a soul as tainted as his did not belong in Heaven.
"Law,"
There was that voice again so familiar...it couldn't be...could it?
He turned his head, his eyes widen as he took the sight of Lami...his little sister.
Her big chocolate eyes stared at him and gifted him with a beautiful smile.
"Lam-Lam..."
"Big Brother Law,"
He stood up, looking ahead he saw his father, mother, and... and...Corazon! All his loved ones were there smiling at him.
"Mom...Dad...Cora-san..."
For a second or two Law felt like a little kid again only this time he didn't feel like his life was in danger, he didn't feel like any second his life could end, no instead he felt happy...safe...at peace...a feeling he hasn't felt in a long time...he was finally reunited with his loved ones.
Law smiled and felt the tears falling down his eyes he didn't even bother to stop them or wipe them.
For the first time in a long while he was happy...the only time he ever felt this happy was when...
"it's time to come home Law,"
He looked at Lami, her sweet smile was still as he remembered, her eyes were no longer filled with fear, but with happiness and content, she extended her hand, silently asking him to take it so they could go home and be together again.
Law chuckled a little, looking up he saw his parents, Cora-san, and behind them all his friends and every person from his home town everyone was waiting for him.
He lifted his hand and reached to grab Lami's. He was close, he could feel the tip of her fingers all he had to do was grasp her hand and he could join them.
Just before he could hold her hand he felt someone grabbing his shirt.
He turned around and saw...Luffy? Luffy's eyes that were usually filled with love, happiness, and mischief were now filled with fear and concerned. That's not right.
Luffy's eyes should never be filled with such worried they should always be happy.
"where are you going Traffy? You're not...you're not leaving me are you? You promised me you wouldn't leave..."
Law's eyes widen a bit as he stared at the image of Luffy.
"please Law...please stay with me...just for a little while longer..."
Luffy...the beautiful soul that saw all his flaws and still stood by his side, the one he held him when the world became to much to handle. The one who listen to him cry and offered a shoulder to cry on.
The one who he loved more than anything was begging him not to go...could he leave him all alone and broken again?
He promised Luffy he would never leave him that he'll stay by his side for as long as he wants him...but could he leave his family again? Could he leave them alone and live a life without them?
On the other hand could he enjoy a life without Luffy?
No...he couldn't. He couldnt see himself without Luffy didn't even want to think about it...
He looked at his family, silently asking them for something, what he wasn't sure he just hoped one of them would be able to understand what he was asking.
Lami was getting worried, was something wrong with her brother? his parents concerned wondering what was stopping their son from coming with them, but Corazon... Corazon was shocked for a moment before his face became relaxed he understood what his adoptive son was asking for and knew what he needed to do for Law to be happy.
he walked over to the siblings.
Law watched as Corazon picked up Lami and placed her on his shoulder.
"It's not your time yet Law...go back home be with your family, we'll be waiting for the two of you when you're ready to leave,"
Law's eyes filled with tears, he wanted to say something, anything to let Corazon and his family know he was ready to go but the look on Corazons face told him he wouldn't believe him.
"we love you Law never forget that."
With those final words Corazon placed his hand on his chest before he pushed him back.
The last thing Law remembers was an image of Ace? Luffy's brother?
He remembers seeing his smiling face, remembers him whispering something to him...
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Law's eyes opened as his body launched forward, looking around he saw he was in the Sunny's infamary..
"What the..."
A small grunt pulled him out of his thoughts looking down he saw Luffy, curled on his side and holding on to Law.
law's eyes soften as he took the image before him.
"Luffy,"
Luffy stir awake before his eyes opened. Warm Chocolate met Steel Gray.
"Traffy..."
"Luffy,"
Luffy's eyes water a little before he wrapped his arms around him, holding him as tight as he could.
"you're okay, you're okay, you're okay"
Law held him tight as Luffy rested his head above his heart taking in at the sound of Law's heart beat making sure he was okay and not some figment of his imagination.
"I'm okay beloved, I'm okay..."
Luffy pulled back.
"I thought...that you...Law!"
Law just held onto his little ball of sunshine and kissed his forehead.
He may have accomplished one of his dreams but now...now it was time to look for a new one...and he knew Luffy would be a part of.
Corazon was right it wasn't his time, not yet he'll go back to his family when both he and Luffy are ready but for now...for now he'll stay by Luffy's side and together they'll help each other achieve their dreams.
After all The Pirate King is going to need a lot of help in the near future and Law would have no problem being the one to help out.
Ace's last words rang in his head and he closed his eyes as he held onto Luffy.
"Make sure he's always smiling. And take care of him..."
Always...

One Piece MasterList [2016-2019]
Soul Jars [09-15-2016] With trembling hands, he unscrewed the top and lifted the glass until the soul was within its waxy confines. The jar was almost too small to contain it, but it did, and Marco closed it before clutching it to his chest.
Those Damn Brats! [10-18-2016]
Eye Contact [10-20-2016] Ace must've made some kind of noise because the boy looked up. They both froze as their eyes met and the world exploded in color.
Filling The Void [10-28-2016] Sometime after the events of Dressrosa, after parting with his precious little brother, Sabo has a dream where he's faced with Ace â not the Ace who he'd known as a child, but the Ace who had died without knowing that he still had two brothers.
Closed Doors [10-31-2016] Closed Doors: What's behind the door? Why is it closed?
Harrowing Inferno [11-28-2016] He turned, apprehension and excitement boiling together in his mind and bringing a large grin to his face. "Ace!"
Freedom [12-14-2016] (MarcoAce Week 2016)
Hobbies [12-15-2016] "Your wings are your arms, right? Do they still feel like arms, or do they register as wings in your brain when you're like this?â Cue exasperated eye closing and sigh. (MarcoAce Week 2016)
Laugh [12-16-2016] Marco laughed then; it was soft, unlike the delighted laugh he'd shared with the others, but it held an affection for Ace that he hadn't received since he left Luffy. (MarcoAce Week 2016)
Heroic/Cowardly [12-17-2016] After breakfast and chores were done and over with, Usopp gathered the crew to tell a tale of the brave Captain Usopp's grand dream. (Usopp Week 2016)
First Impressions/Beginnings [03-21-2017] Ace was all alone out there on Mount Corvo, and seemed to have been alone for a long time, and Sabo was all alone, despite being surrounded by people back in Grey Terminal. Ace had to be feeling just as lonely as him, even if he refused to show it. So he wouldn't give up. He would be the best soulmate ever! Ace would never have to feel alone again. "Hey! Ace!" he shouted, charging up the mountain in the direction the brunet had gone. "Wait up!" (SaboAce Week 2017)
Idiot/Genius [03-22-2017] âAre you a complete idiot?â (SaboAce Week 2017)
Sailing/Adventure [03-23-2017] Sabo was recovered by the Revolutionaries, like in canon, but he was not permitted to join the Revolutionaries because Dragon did not want to drag a child into such a war against the world/World Government (Koala hasn't joined at this point; she joined after Sabo did in canon). However, Dragon agreed to drop Sabo off at Loguetown so he was as far from Dawn Island as possible without going into the Grandline. At the age of 18, Sabo decided to set sail for the Grandline to have an adventure. (SaboAce Week 2017)
Scars/Tattoos [03-23-2017] Life was going pretty good, considering the hassle it took for Ace to pass High School in the final stretch. Â But in Ace's experience, when things began going too well, something bad was bound to happen. (SaboAce Week 2017)
Blush/Innocent [03-25-2017] âHey, Ace? Where do babies come from?â (SaboAce Week 2017)
Regret/Hallucination [03-26-2017] "Happy birthday, Sabo. I hope you're freer in the stars than you were down on earth." (SaboAce Week 2017)
Only Sparks Remain [03-27-2017] âBut I still can't believe that crybaby became so strong... Can you, Ace?â (SaboAce Week 2017)
Say Cheese [05-10-2017] Art was Usopp's passion.
Burning Memories [05-17-2017] "Sabo-kun? Are you alright?" "Huh? Oh, yeah. Just a weird dream..."
Silence [05-29-2017] Peace, Law discovered, was not easy to come upon while on-board the Thousand Sunny. (10 Days of LawLu 2k17)
Terminal [05-29-2017] He felt like maybe he would be alright with being in a relationship with Luffy as opposed to just a friendship. (10 Days of LawLu 2k17)
RecherchĂ© [05-30-2019] âI love you, Torao,â he mumbled into Law's dark hair. âMm... I love you, too, Luffy-ya.â (10 Days of LawLu 2k17)
Achromatic [05-31-2017] He didn't know what he was looking for, though, until he saw him. (10 Days of LawLu 2k17)
Wish [06-01-2017] Whether it was fighting against a Yonko or dealing with the demons of Law's past that tried to drag him down, down, down, Luffy was there with a smile to make everything better, make everything okay. So why wasn't everything okay right now? (10 Days of LawLu 2k17)
The Dreamer [07-14-2017] A lucid dream is a dream during which the dreamer is aware of dreaming. During lucid dreaming, the dreamer may be able to exert some degree of control over the dream characters, narrative, and environment. (ZoLu Week 2017)
Sunshine [07-15-2017] The world was infested by cruel and corrupt souls. As far as Zoro knew, it had always been that way. (ZoLu Week 2017)
Eternity [08-12-2017] Iâm sorry, Torao... (10 Days of LawLu 2k17)
Family & Relation(ships)Â [01-11-2018] Family, friends, nakama and more, a lot of people love Usopp and he loves them, too. (Usopp Week 2016)
Dreams / Ambitions [01-11-2018] "You are going to bounce back from any fight we get into, whether we win or we lose, and I'm not going to doubt myself, right?" (SanLu Week 2016)
Die Traumdeutung [02-06-2018] He found that staying up for most of the night usually left him falling asleep in time to witness more pleasant dreams. His favorite, which showed up the rarest out of all the dreams, was when he found himself submerged in the ocean, surrounded by fish he used to catch in his own village and fish he was skeptical about the existence of but couldn't deny looked amazing (and appetizing).
Dragonheart [02-14-2018] Dark blue scales, tinted maroon from his blood, had pushed their way out of his skin like thorns from a rose stem. Taking a bath in the middle of the night to rid himself of the blood and throwing away the ruined shirt, Sabo spent the rest of the night pursuing answers on his laptop, finding that the appearance of scales was just stage one of a fledgling dragon's shift to adulthood. Sabo felt ill to his stomach.
Rekindled [02-14-2018] WIP He had died saving Luffy, and now he was alive.
5 Times Trafalgar Law Found Himself Involved In Sentimental Situations (And 1 Time When Words Weren't Involved)Â [03-04-2018] Law wasn't a sentimental person. In fact, he was best known for his cold and almost sadistically cruel personality. While most information about the North Blue captain were just rumors, he never did anything to prove the public wrong. Not where they could see, anyway.
Hugs/Cuddles [03-21-2018] âOkay, I think I'm finished,â the blond finally said. âYou think?â Ace repeated, looking vaguely unimpressed as he took a long drag of his cigarette. Sabo ignored him as he dropped the empty spray-paint can into his bag, where seven more equally empty cans rested. The graffiti took him about an hour to create, and it was a pain to hold an illusion over the alley the whole time, but now that he was done, he could trigger the spell and they could finally sleep. (SaboAce Week 2018)
Then/Now [03-22-2018] Sabo never lost his memories and he didn't go with the Revolutionaries. Instead, he returned to his brothers. (SaboAce Week 2018)
Love At First Sight [03-28-2018] âI see you made it,â he said with a small laugh. He extended a hand and Ace shook it, made speechless by how soft it was. (Kidd was smirking at him out of the corner of his eye.) âI'm Outlook Sabo.â âPortgas D. Ace.â (SaboAce Week 2018)
Laughter [05-29-2018] He could hear Luffy snoring behind him, the lanky man's arm and leg thrown lazily over Law's waist. The doctor basked in the warmth of the quasi-embrace before tossing away the stray limbs and sitting up. (10 Days of LawLu 2k18)
Back to Back + Healing/Injured [05-31-2018] âOw. Ow! Oooooow!â Law really wanted to punch Luffy, but unfortunately, he was wrist-deep in the other's chest cavity. (10 Days of LawLu 2k18)
Love [02-17-2019] âBonney, it is ass crack o'clock,â Ace all but growled when he answered his phone at five-something in the morning. âWhat-â âWho even says that?â Bonney interrupted with an ugly snort, sounding much too awake. That didn't bode well for Ace.
Looking For Yourself [06-06-2019] Trafalgar D. Water Law disliked kids, whether they were his age â twelve â or not. He'd just lost his taste for being around anyone after his little sister and parents died and he was placed into the foster system. So when, to his irritation, a little brat who couldn't have been older than six climbed up next to him on a park bench he'd been reading on, he was less than thrilled. Additionally, the pest wouldn't stop running his mouth once he began to speak.
Plans Made (and Ruined?) [06-06-2019] âThat's why I'm here,â he said. âWhat?â Luffy gave him a look as if he was missing something that should've been obvious. âI don't want you to be alone.â âI love being alone,â Law deadpanned, âso you can go now.â Luffy grinned broadly. âNah. Because then you'd be lonely, and you hate that.â (10 Days of LawLu 2k19)
Clockwork [11-29-2019] Sanji rose with the sun like clockwork.

Softly Stained with Spring
Part 5: War
note: Â This fic was written for @lawlu-week!! Â But I couldnât keep up so Iâm planning for updates to happen weekly instead~
rating: T
tags: canon universe, fluff and angst, hanahaki
Engaging the Straw Hat Pirates in all-out war was a mistake, Law has to confess. He really hadnât intended for it to be anything more than a friendly competition between their crews. It was meant as an attempt to assuage Luffyâs anxieties, assuming thatâs whatâs been causing his pain. He hadnât been at all prepared for the hell Luffyâs entire crew would bring down upon his own.
Here he is now, trapped on the Thousand Sunny, soaked in sea water and too weakened to initiate his room. Law skirts the battle, feeling with his haki to sense anyone that might notice him. He ducks into their storage room with silent stealth despite his nerves. His shaking hands fumble for the door, pull it closed, muffling the screams of his comrades outside.
Law jumps back as a thud sounds against the door. From the other side he can hear Shachiâs desperate pleas for mercy falling on deaf ears, cut short by the enemy. Bepo and Penguinâs cries to avenge Shachi slice through the air, are silenced not but a second later.
Law backs away from the door, raking his fingers through his hair. Trembling, he falls to his knees. Heâs too late. He canât protect them. He canât save any of them. Itâs a complete massacre and heâs left powerless, hiding away like a coward.
Itâs so uncharacteristic of the Straw Hats to have staged an ambush, but Law has no other way of perceiving the events that have transpired. Law had never envisioned theyâd use sea water or make it more potent just to render him useless. This is not what Law had expected when heâd proposed a water fightâwater guns, water balloons, and such. The weather on the island was nice enough and it was intended to be simple, innocent fun.
âI found you, Torao.â Luffy laughs from behind him.
Law turns slowly toward the voice, no attempt to hide the abject horror on his face at the sight of the other captainâs contorted form crawling through the window.
âTorao, help,â he whines, dropping his water pistol to push against the window, twisting at the waist.
Law realizes then just how soaked Luffy isâeven more than himself. Heâs probably feeling the lack of his abilities too. Thereâs no harm in propping the window open so Luffy can slip through and tumble onto the floor in a puddle.
âI forfeit, just so you know,â Law says, hands up before Luffy can go shooting him with the water pistol.
âOkay. Everyoneâs dead now anyways.â Luffy replies, slumps against a crate. He puts the end of the water pistol in his mouth, squeezes the little plastic trigger.
âI hope you donât mean actually dead.â Law knows he means theyâre just out of the fight. It was only a water battle. He takes a seat next next to Luffy, leaning back, feeling completely drained of energy. âI donât want to captain the dead.â
âCaptain of Death,â Luffy chuckles, âitâs your new nickname.â
âDonât want it,â Law says, ââCaptainâ doesnât strike fear the way âsurgeonâ does.â
âAre people supposed to be afraid of surgeons?â Luffy hums, shoots some more of whatever heâs drinking into his mouth. âIâm alive because youâre a surgeon,â he reminds him.
Law knows that surgeons are meant to save lives and not cause death. If he simply went around causing death, itâd make him no more than a common murderer. The epithet âSurgeon of Deathâ is meant to suggest that he could end lives in bloody dismemberment or worse, but he decides that itâs alright if Luffy doesnât really get it.
âWant some?â Luffy asks, as though itâs an afterthought, holding his pistol out to Law for a second. A small amount of orange liquid ebbs and flows through the moulded plastic insides of the water pistol.
Law doesnât really want it. But Luffyâs offered it to himâLuffy whoâs rarely ever offered him something of his own before, at least in this sense. Luffyâs offered him so much else so much more easilyâfriendship, the fiercest of loyalty. Offering food or drink that heâs already laid claim to himself is just so uncommon. Law feels kind of silly for putting so much weight on the gesture while Luffy probably doesnât spare it a second thought.
âItâs ok if you donât want some,â Luffy says. He takes back the water pistol to shoot the rest of it into his own mouth.
No, you know what, Law does want it. Suddenly, he wants it more than heâs ever wanted anything. He wants it so desperately he gives no second thought to lunging forward, pressing his lips to Luffyâs to steal it from his mouth.
The sweet tang of orange hits his taste buds. He chases it over Luffyâs tongue. His mind swims euphoric, so caught in the moment it takes him a second to realize this isnât just about reclaiming some juice. Heâs kissing Luffy.
No. What has he done?!
This isnât okay.
Law reels back, excuses, apologies on his tongue. Heâs ready to make amends if Luffy will let him. He wants to save this alliance, this friendship. He shouldnât have dared to go this far. Something dirty, repulsive creeps through Law to think how heâs pushed himself on Luffy. He would deserve it if Luffy hit him for this.
Luffyâs face screws up, eyebrows dipping, mouth twisting into a menacing grin. Itâs an expression that Law has no idea how to read, but before he can even try Luffyâs diving at him.
Luffy tackles him to the floor, one arm wrapped around his neck, calloused fingertips pressed against his cheek, Luffyâs lips to his own.
Itâs rough and unforgiving, the treatment Luffyâs giving him, pinning him to the floor, kissing him back like heâs out to devour his soul. Law would give it to him. Law would give him anything.
Lawâs wandering fingertips threading into Luffyâs hair, his other hand slipping around the small of his back. His body feels so solid in his arms, so natural itâs almost unnatural. Holding Luffy like this is more than heâs ever dared to dream of.
Itâs too soon when Luffy breaks the kiss. He hiccups, coughs flower petals that rain down onto Lawâs face. Luffyâs body shudders, spilling even more over him. The scent of them is something metallic, like ironâlike blood.
Law tries not to overthink it. He brushes them off, more concerned about how Luffyâs feeling than being covered in flowers.
âAre you alright?â He asks, grasping Luffyâs face in his hands.
âYeah,â Luffy says hoarsely, pulling one more petal from his mouth. He tosses it to the floor and bends down close to give Law one more soft kiss.
Law canât stand the thought that coughing up flowers has somehow become this weird little mundane thing Luffy now has to deal with. Heâs going to fix this. Heâs not letting Luffy leave him until he does.
âAre you in pain?â Law has to know. All he can do for now is hold Luffy in his arms, to try to comfort him but it feels like not enough.
âA little,â Luffy speaks, his breath warm and sweet on Lawâs lips. âBut about us, whatâs next?â
Law wants to tell Luffy itâs entirely up to him where their relationship goes from here, but feels it ill-advised to admit it so easily and while heâs so high on infatuation. Right now heâd consent to being Luffyâs boyfriend, his lover, whatever Luffy wants.
âMy crew won, so I do choose the next game?â Luffy asks.
âWait, what are you talking about?â Law seriously needs to figure out how Luffyâs mind works. So far the only thing heâs got to work off of is that he and Luffy are apparently never thinking the same thing.
âThe next game after the water battle,â Luffy explains. âThereâs three games, right?â
âI had only intended to have a water battle for fun,â Law clarifies. âItâs not a Davy Back Fight or anything.â
Luffy looks a little put-out, frown curving across his lips.
âI refuse to give you any crew members or let you mess with my jollyroger.â Law has got to be firm about some things despite how Luffyâs existence pushes his boundaries. He never intended for any serious competition.
âYou donât have to,â Luffy informs him. âI just wanna win more kisses.â
Law is fighting a losing battle trying to decipher Luffyâs logic, but if Luffy thinks his kiss was the prize, itâs good enough for him.
âWhat are you going to do if I win?â Law asks.
âHope you want kisses too?â Luffy supposes.
âSure,â Law agrees, âbut in private.â Heâs not really one to flaunt his personal matters.
In any case, he still needs to find out whatâs causing Luffyâs health problem, so thereâs no harm in buying time with another competition or two. Letting Luffy win a few more kisses isnât going to hurt anyone.
⊠⊠âŠ
Friendly competition is often followed by celebration, at least for the Straw Hat crew, and parties are always mandatory when meeting up with the Heart Pirates. That night itâs the best of both. The deck of the Sunny is so lively that Luffy doesnât notice it right away, mostly because heâs in the throes of dessert, but Law seems to have disappeared. Robin and Chopper donât seem to be around either, but what concerns him more is Lawâs absence. They still havenât picked the next game.
The rest of the Heart Pirates are still around, mingling with his own crew. Some of them are helping with the post-dinner washing up. Some of them brought a traditional North Blue drinkâsome kind of alcohol to challenge Zoro with. A few of them are about to go into debt with Nami whoâs gotten out her hanafuda cards. None of those things interest Luffy, but so long as theyâre still on the Sunny, thereâs a good chance Law is too.
Snatching up a few extra slices of Sanjiâs honey castella to munch on, he sets off in search of Law. There are few places on the Sunny that Law would wander off toâeither the library or the infirmary. Robin being gone as well just makes the library all the more likely. Otherwise, heâll check to see if Lawâs with Chopper in the infirmary.
Luffy sprints off to the back of the ship, stretches up to grab hold of the ledge of the red and yellow striped roof which houses the library below. The room comes into view through the window as Luffy reels himself up on his rubber arms.
He has to laugh to himself a little, pleased to know how predictable everyone is, because thereâs Law with Robin and Chopper as well sitting at a table in the center of the room. They seem to be having a pretty intense conversation. Their voices carry a serious tone.
âIt doesnât say anything about the flower being poisonous,â Chopper informs the other two, leaning over a thick medical text. âIt releases spores into the body, which provide it with the ideal environment to grow.â
âSo in other words, itâs parasitic,â Law surmises.
âThat would confirm what it says in the legend about the Loverâs Curse being a slow death,â Robin notes.
âI was told by a local that itâs poisonous,â Law says. âWhy would anyone lie about such a thing?â
âIn the story it says âLeiana sought the poison of the Loverâs Curse, for a slow and painful death in love would surely save her from a long and painful life without,â Robin reads from the small book in her hands.
âYou can take care of it, right?â Chopper asks Law.
âWith the use of my ability, I can and will be able to separate the spores from his body,â Law reassures them. âI donât want to cause any undue stress, so Iâll do it when-â
The slightest sound from Luffy sliding the window open cuts off their conversation. Robin sprouts extra hands to help him open it enough to slip inside.
âOh my, what are you doing out there?â She smiles warmly at him, demeanor completely changed from seconds before.
âWhatâs with you and crawling through windows today?â The tone of Lawâs voice seems to carry a little playfulness even though his expression is still etched serious across his face.
âI was looking for you, Torao,â Luffy explains, âWe didnât decide tomorrowâs game.â
âIâve got to go back to the island tomorrow,â Law says, decidedly. âThat place in the woods-â
âHunting atlas beetles!â Luffy cries, his mouth moving faster than his mind. Itâs the perfect competition for them.
âAtlas beetles?â Law asks, one eyebrow raised. If heâs never hunted them before Luffy could show him how. Itâs not that hard.
âTheyâre a great treasure!â Chopper adds, emphatically. âMaybe even as great as the One Piece!â
âMaybe,â Luffy concurs. âItâs really hard to say. But thatâs what I want to do! Weâll see who can find the biggest one!â
âAlright,â Law supposes.
âOkay!â Luffy cheers. âIâm gonna win more kisses from Torao!â He can't wait to get back to the island even if those stupid meat flowers are going to be there. He just wonât eat them this time.
Tomorrow is going to be a great adventure. Law has some good ideas, but this competition was really the best idea.

LawLu 2k19 Week, Day 8: Something old, something new
God, if I ever get to witness this, Iâm gonna have a heart attack.
Notes and Warnings: Weddings. Power of Friendship!
⊠Something borrowed, something blue.
âThere!â Chopper entered the girlsâ bedroom with Luffy, holding him by the wrist and sitting him in front of the dressing-table.
âLast time you sneak back into the kitchen!â Nami was yelling at Luffy, angrily, the orange-haired had a red dress with white flowers, in her hands sheâd a small wooden chest, leaving it on the dresser, opening it and starting to look inside.
âI was hungry.â Luffy excused himself, handing the straw hat to Nami when the girl extended her hand.
âLuffy, donât wipe your mouth with your sleeve, youâll get your suit dirty.â Robin took a handkerchief out of her little bag and patiently cleaned up any trace of food. The taller girl had her hair combed in a bun, wearing a silvery dress that made her look stunning.
And as soon as she left his face alone, she moved to his hair, taking comb and gel in her hands, Robin brushed the comb through the untamed black strands.
Chopper, who was next to him, finished ironing a white coat and a little blue bow.
âAre you nervous, guys?â Luffy asked, focusing on his reflection in the mirror, as Robin had summoned four more arms to keep him seated.
âAnd you do not?â Nami asked, focusing on her work on the straw hat.
âWell â â
âLuffy, itâs normal to be scared on this day.â The archaeologist gave him a slight pat on his head.
âI canât imagine the kind of pressure is under on the Polar Tang.â Chopper commented.
âTorao is nervous too then.â Luffy wasnât asking, he concluded, moving freely now that Robin left his hair alone and all four arms were gone.
âWe are.â Nami replied, she was finishing her work, âHow could you sleep all night?â
âMaybe because I have all of you behind me.â
Luffyâs simple answer left the girlsâ room quietly, listening to a sniff from Chopper who was still diligent in his work.
âDamn it, Luffy,â Nami had teary eyes, âWhy are you saying that now that Iâve already applied my makeup?â
Luffy felt a hug from Robin.
Chopper finally finished ironing the suit and handed it to Luffy, while he arranged the blue bow bow.
âVoila!â Nami once again looked at the object in the straw hat before putting it over Luffy's head, careful not to mess it up. Not even on this day would luffy be apart from his signature hat.
âLooks so cool!â Luffy observed the small, geranium-shaped hairpin tucked next to the red ribbon, âThank you, Nami.â
âYes, yes, give it back to me tomorrow as I gave it to you or youâll have to pay me 500% of its value and interest.â
Robin opened the door to her room, letting the rest of the crew through.
âAmazing, is hardly to believe it.â Usopp spoke, looking at the girls he asked, âWhat have you done to our captain?â
âYou guys are gonna make me cry.â Franky already had a face full of tears and snot.
âKeep calm, will you?â Zoro said in a calm tone, âItâs a wedding, not a funeral.â
Yep. Today was his wedding day. Today was the day heâd marry Torao. Luffy just couldnât wait to see him too, in fact once he snuck into the kitchen he was gonna go see him, too bad Chopper had found him.
âItâs not fair, why Luffy gets married before me?â Sanji kept saying, it looked like he was going to burst out of anger, but everyone knew that he was just as happy for his captain as anyone else.
âYohohoho! I canât wait to play the wedding march. Itâll be something to watch... Wait, I donât have eyes, yohohoho!â
âDo you have everything ready?â Jinbei asked.
Luffy nodded excitedly. âSomething old.â He pointed to his beloved straw hat, âSomething new.â Pointing out his whole body, emphasizing the white suit that Caimie had given him, âSomething borrowed.â Pointing this time towards the geranium-shaped hair pin, âAnd something blue.â Luffy slightly moved the bow tie, which was quickly arranged by Chopper.
âI guess this is a new adventure, right, Captain?â Zoro smiled.
âAnd youâll accompany me in it.â Luffy replied with that smile that his crew had come to appreciate, and that Trafalgar better keep it.
âI definitely won't get to the âI doâ.â Franky burst into tears once more, bringing the entire crew together for a group hug.

Just as Good
10 Days of LawLu Day 4: RivalsÂ
âWeâre technically rivals,â Law insisted, growing ever more flustered in the face of Luffyâs grin. âWeâre both part of the so-called Worst Generation---âÂ
âWho cares if the Government wants to lump us together like that?âÂ
â---we both want to take down an Emperor---âÂ
âIâm okay working together.âÂ
â---uh, we---the first time we met, we argued about fighting the Marines---âÂ
âYouâre just making things up now,â Luffy said, tilting his head. âAll because you donât want me to call you a friend?âÂ
âI---! Thatâs not---!â Law grit his teeth. âYouâre so stubborn!âÂ
âI like you,â Luffy said suddenly. âI think I really, really like you.âÂ
âYou---!â Lawâs eyes widened. âWhat do you---youâre not making sense---!âÂ
âSo, what if I agree to stop calling you a friend,â Luffy explained, âbut I get to call you something just as good instead?âÂ
âIâve changed my mind,â Law said, turning around and clenching his sword in a white-knuckle grip. ââFriendâ is just fine.âÂ
âAw, come on!âÂ
Law was already speed-walking away, covering his flustered face with his free hand.Â
