Ok. So I know I said I would let a free and fair election decide what my next rec list would be. But then I saw @16woodsequ ask for Steve as the Winter Soldier recommendations, and I blacked out and when I came to I had discovered this list almost completed. So I guess the poll will be determining my next next list.

My watch of Star Trek: Prodigy and the dynamic between Janeway and Chakotay has got me thinking about Sam and Jack from SG-1. Two completely different franchises that have a set of characters that would absolutely go to the ends of the galaxy to save the other.

I haven't watched all that much Star Trek, I will admit. But I'm getting there, I promise.

I have, however, watched Stargate more times than I can count (though it did end at season 8 for me) and there is an episode where Sam spends months trying to figure out a way to save Jack after he's stranded on an alien planet and Good ol' Dr Frasier (I love her, by far my favourite recurring character, hence why I use the name Rothery) asks Sam if her feelings are a problem because, hello, regulations and you can't have feelings for your CO Sam.

And then there's the time Sam gets stuck in an interstellar cloud, alone on the Prometheus and Jack can't do a whole lot to help her, so he ends up feeling entirely useless and Teal'c talks to him about how there was a time Sam felt very much the same when he was M.I.A once again on a different alien planet than the one mentioned above.

The need to do all that they can to save the other while probably feeling completely and utterly helpless, because where do you start?

And Upgrades people, let's not forget about Upgrades!

There are just so many instances but these are the ones I was reminded of when I watched Prodigy, because for me, the scenes with Janeway desperate to save Chakotay just vibed in a similar way. And yes, I need to watch more Voyager because I don't know the half of it yet.

The only difference in Stargate is that the feelings are acknowledged on screen by Sam and Jack, but we can just leave them in the room, sir if you want and pretend we don't have them, when we totally do. That's cool Carter, let's do that. Alrighty then...

And I forgot where I was going with this, it's late and I'm tired and now I am just rambling and not making any sense...

But I guess my point was who doesn't want someone that would travel through time and space to save your ass because the world is a better place with you in it, all because they love you so goddamn much?

And sure it can be platonic if you want, but with these two pairings it doesn't feel that way to me. But that's just how I feel about...

As a S/J shipper, thank God for Moebius and Threads.

...And I know in these shows there are instances where other crew/team members get equally stuck in stupidly dangerous/life threatening situations that require them to be saved (::cough cough:: Daniel), but it's not quite the same now is it, when there is no yearning present?

BOOK ONE: The 'Fools Fall in Love' Trilogy

Sam and I were laying in bed.

After 'finally' being able to have sex with Sam, I had to go to Jason and ask him for new sheets.

Ours were soaked from our wet bodies fresh out of the shower.

Of course, I didn't tell Jason the reasoning behind the need for new sheets but then he asked me...

"Why you grinning so much?"

To which I told him to fuck off and find me new sheets.

Then, with dry sheets in hand and me asking 'telling' Carter to sleep on the couch tonight, he asked..

"Hey, so now that things are officially over between you and Kaitlyn because you're happily with Sam, would it be okay if I..."

"Hurt her and I'll fucking kill you, Carter, I'm not even joking," I threatened him with narrowed eyes.

"Heard you, loud and clear, so...?"

"I don't care, that's up to her, so don't fucking touch her unless she wants you to," I warned him.

Carter put his hands up.

"Who do you take me as?" he questioned with humor in his tone.

I scoffed, walking past him and I flipped him off as I told him.

"As a fucking slut," I exclaimed, harmlessly as I went back to the room Sam and I were sharing.

I didn't really give Carter a choice on sleeping on the couch but he didn't turn down the idea.

He knew he owed us.

So, back to Sam and I laying in bed with dry sheets, we were laying on our side, facing each other.

A movie 'Sam picked the classic Finding Nemo' playing from the tv screen that sat on top of a dresses just past the foot of the bed.

We stopped paying attention twenty minutes into it and I was going to tell Sam I loved him.

That I was in love with him but, he spoke first.

His fingers pushing hair behind my ear as he gently said...

"I want to know more about you, Noah Wright."

"Like what?" I asked.

He shrugged but I knew he knew what he wanted to ask.

He was hesitant as he began...

"I don't know much about you still... like your past, so... but if I'm prying too much, then you can..."

"You can ask me, Sam," I told him truthfully.

"Right, sorry. Um.. if... if your dad is still around, why'd you have to go into foster care?"

I sighed and rolled onto my back to face the ceiling.

My past wasn't something I talked about because honestly, I felt ashamed and I blamed myself for a lot of it but Sam wasn't one to judge me, I knew that and I knew he wouldn't just apologize for something that wasn't his fault.

So, I told him.

"When I was in seventh grade, my... um... my mom left, then my dad bailed. Nathan, my brother, went away to college and then... I was alone. About a month later, I found out that my dad was in jail for a DUI and then school found out I was living alone, so I was put into foster care."

"I lived with three different families in almost two years before my dad finally got his shit together and I was living with him again by the end of my freshman year," it was silent for a moment, so I looked at Sam.

His green eyes met mine as though he was searching for the right words.

I wondered if he heard the loneliness I felt as I spoke my past.

Because it was a very lonely time.

In fact, being with Kaitlyn I still felt alone.

I never felt alone when I was with Sam.

"Shit," I breathed out a laugh.

"I never told anyone that. I mean, Kaitlyn knew a small bit but only the gist."

Sam's fingers slowly slid down the side of my face, then delicately moved hair behind my ear,

"That must've been really hard. Especially being at the prime age of needing a parent," he spoke in a whisper, his eyes never leaving mine.

"You're very strong, Noah Wright. Thank you for trusting me enough to share that with me."

I loved when he spoke my full name like it something to cherish and adore.

I couldn't help my eyes from dropping to his lips then back up.

"You're easier to talk to. Like I know you'd never judge."

He gave me a grateful smile before placing a safe kiss on my mouth.

I think he had meant for the kiss to be quick but when he pulled away, my hand grabbed his face and pulled him into another kiss.

Slow and thoughtful and we both opened our mouths to get a taste of each other but Sam pulled away.

"You're gonna turn me on and then I won't be able to control myself and my butt will be too sore to even walk tomorrow."

I laughed and kissed him one more time before standing up.

"I'm gonna make us popcorn then we can actually watch this movie."

"Could you get me water?" Sam pleaded.

"My mouth is still so dry," his voice was whiny.

"Why? Didn't my cum keep your mouth hydrated?" I jested which made his blush up to his ears.

"It made my mouth even more dry, you need to drink more water," he insisted with a serious tone.

I laughed as I walked out, never feeling more happy with anyone else than when I was with Sam.

Walking into the kitchen, I spotted Kaitlyn reaching into the freezer to grab some ice cubes for her glass of water.

"Hey," I said and walked over to the cabinets to find a cup to fill with water for Sam.

"Hey," Kaitlyn greeted back then opened her mouth to speak again but closed it.

She picked up her glass of water and was about to leave but it I stopped her.

"Kaitlyn wait."

She turned back around to me.

"Yeah?"

"Um," I rubbed the back of my neck,.

"I just wanted to say thank you, ya' know, for being cool about Sam and I."

Kaitlyn gave me a small smile.

"Although, I don't know if I want to be in that room with him, he's still pretty high," I joked trying to make it less awkward between us but then thought maybe I shouldn't have.

"Sorry, it's weird, me talking about Sam with you."

Kaitlyn chuckled.

"It's weird," she agreed with a nod.

"But knowing that you're with a boy oddly makes it better. I've always wanted to be friends with a gay couple."

"You think we could still be friends?" I asked, hoping that was true.

Kaitlyn thought for a moment before saying.

"It might take some time but I think we could. Goodnight, Noah," she said, then left.

I tried not to feel weird about Kaitlyn going on the trip but as soon as Noah stepped out of the car, Kaitlyn walked up to him.

"Noah, hey, I didn't know if you were coming or not. Jason said you weren't sure."

It seemed Carter and Zach 'who Haven told me this morning, was tagging along to Wisconsin' weren't at Jason's yet.

I didn't see Jason and Haven and I were helping Emily pack the car.

Though, I was still listening in on Noah and Kaitlyn's conversation.

"Yeah, um," he scratched the back of his neck.

"I didn't know if it would make you uncomfortable and not want to come."

Kaitlyn gave him a small smile, then brushed his arm with her hand.

"Always thinking of me. That's sweet but it's been a month," she shrugged.

"We should be okay to stay in a house together for the weekend, right?"

It was hard to see Noah's expressions in the dark, which bothered me.

"Yeah, I think so," Noah agreed.

"Good," Kaitlyn said cheerfully, then brought up an old memory that had my stomach churning in ugly, jealousy induced knots.

"Hey, remember last year when you completely..." Noah finished her sentence...

"Ate shit, tumbling down the bunny hill? Yeah," and they laughed.

'Oh, God, I hated the way I wanted to throw up all over Kaitlyn's clean Air Force Ones.'

"I have to go to the bathroom," I announced loudly.

"He gets car sick," Haven joked.

I shoved her shoulder as Emily laughed.

"When you go through the garage door, it's the first door to your right," Emily instructed.

I nodded and with my head held high with pettiness, I walked right in between Kaitlyn and Noah, forcing Kaitlyn to take a step back.

Noah gave me an odd look but I continued through the garage until I made it to the bathroom, inside the house.

I kept the door unlocked because I knew that Noah... there was two knocks on the bathroom door and then Noah was stepping into to small room, closing the door behind him.

"Are you okay?" he asked me.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I said, not looking at him.

I was ashamed at how jealous I felt but I couldn't help it.

"Really? 'Cause you..."

I finally looked at my boyfriend as I suggested...

"Why don't you ask Kaitlyn to suck your dick already?" my tone sardonic and vile.

Noah eyebrows raised and his jaw dropped slightly.

"Wow, jealousy makes you brutal," he spoke with a humorous voice.

"I'm not jealous and it's not funny," I claimed with my arms crossed and narrowed eyes.

"It's a little funny."

I rolled my eyes and jerked my arms away when he tried touching me.

Noah gave me an 'are you serious?' look.

"Sam, come on, if there's anyone who I want to suck my dick, it's you," he jested.

Making fun out my jealousy.

I almost smiled at that and okay, maybe I was being dramatic.

I sighed.

"I'm sorry but it makes me feel weird when you two 'reminisce in the good ol' days'."

"Wanna know what else happened on that trip last year?"

"No," I declined in disgust.

"Kaitlyn and I argued three times that weekend. We went home in separate cars," Noah told me.

"But," he slipped his hands under my sweater and glided them to the small of my back before tugging me to him.

"I won't 'reminisce' with Kaitlyn anymore... especially if you're gonna threaten to have her go down on me."

I chuckled, feeling better.

"Okay."

"Okay, so we're good?" he questioned.

"Yes," I confirmed, then feeling ridiculous that I got so worked up over nothing.

I grabbed the front of his hoodie and pulled him down to kiss me.

He press our bodies against each other and dipped his tongue in my mouth.

I nudged him back

"Don't do that, I'm gonna get turned on."

"Hmm, why? You don't want to have a quickie in Jason's bathroom?" he asked me, burying his face in the crook of my neck, kissing me.

I giggled but I could feel my cheeks heating up in a blush.

It wasn't healthy how badly I wanted Noah.

To the point where I almost said yes to him but with some needed willpower, I pushed him back.

"Let's definitely continue this in Wisconsin."

We kissed one more time before Noah instructed...

"You go first, then I'll come out in a few minutes."

And we were off to Wisconsin, when Zach and Carter arrived 'Zach being the last and making us wait for him'.

We took two cars, with Noah and I in the back seat with Carter in passenger and Jason driving his mother's Hyundai Paradise SUV.

Emily drove Haven, Zach and Kaitlyn in her Mazda6.

I didn't know how I felt going into a house to share with Kaitlyn but at least Noah and I will have our own bedroom... or so I thought.
