The conversation about congestion charges in New York is weird. Because those in favor can understand how this could be frustrating to certain people, while those against cannot fathom the idea that somebody might be on board.

(I am on board with it. For many many reasons)

#fuck it lets list them #1. New York City is congested as shit. this is a realistic way to reduce traffic #2. cars pollute. not just from exhaust either. you know how many microplastics we breathe in from tyre debris? also noise pollution #3. cars are the most inefficient way of transpoting large amounts of people. lets discourage that in favour of more efficient means #4. Lower Manhattan is some of the mot valuable real estate in the world. if you're going to take up that much if it pay up #5. cars are bad for literally everything but temporary personal comfort. community and health and environment and safety and land use and #genuinely had more on 5 but thats the longest a tag can be #anyway.#new york #congestion pricing #urbanism
