My GoodSmile Company Dororo Hyakkimaru featuring Sayoko Kamitsure 1:7 Complete Figure arrived! I’m so in-love with this figure, I can’t even describe how sad I am that I didn’t get two. Or, maybe I should say I wasn’t able to afford two. T__T;;; 

He’s not super expensive, but his shipping made him a bit expensive (due mostly to the limiting shipping options) and I have a lot of other stuff that was releasing this month, or delayed (like always!) to release this month. I was contemplating getting the F:Nex/FuRyu one but decided to get this one instead because I found it more aesthetically pleasing and also more accurate to how Hyakkimaru looks in the anime. I wasn’t able to afford the other one at the time it released (it was a little more expensive than this one), but  I really fell in love with this one the moment I saw prototype photos.

I saw Japanese owner photos on Twitter and a few people complaining about his face not being as heavily blushed as the prototype(not the Japanese owners, but potential ones). I don’t really mind though. Had I been able to afford a second one to unbox, I would have added the blushing myself (if I felt like it), but it’s not a deal breaker for me. The figure still remains one of the most gorgeous pieces I own, it’s truly breathtaking (to me) in person. I am beyond satisfied with him, and glad I was able to get at least one (for now). I don’t believe GoodSmile re-releases scale figures often (or ever!), but I am crossing my fingers I’ll be able to get a second one, if they do. (:

Accuracy Rating: 4.5/5

Explanation: Our bride is wearing a modern twist on a very classic version of Japanese bridal wear, known as “shiromuku,” which I’m calling “shirouchikake.” Shiromuku consists of an all-white kimono and accessories, while shirouchikake only requires having a white furisode uchikake. The remaining layers and accessories can be any color of the rainbow in combination with white. These colorful accents are often featured on the uchikake, in places like the padded hem or the inner lining. Her uchikake has a bright red interior lining and padded hem just like her kakeshita. Her accessories reinforce this with red hanao on her sandals, red obiage, red obijime, red shigoki obi, red futokorogatana (i.e. katana pouch) & red hakoseko (i.e. wedding purse) tucked into place. Her red and gold bangasa complements her very classic red and white color scheme. The only negative is that her shoes are maiko okobo when they should be formal zori—otherwise, an excellent example of a traditional bride.

Part of my November 2021 Toy haul arrived yesterday. From left to right: Hobby Max Inuyasha: Sesshomaru 1:7 Scale Pre-painted Figure; GoodSmile Popup Parade Inuyasha Pre-painted Non-scale Figure; MegaHouse G.E.M. Naruto Shippuden Sasuke Uchiha Non-Scale Figure.

I paid way too much on shipping just for Sesshomaru, so I am a bit disapointed that the box is not a window-display box, and on top of the super expensive costs, his box arrived damaged. That’s why I always complain about shiping costs, because I rarely receive shipping boxes that don’t have heavy damage. As a MISB collector, it takes away years off my life, just seeing the shipping box damaged and holding my breath every time, hoping there’s none on the actual figure’s boxes. This time, sadly, there was damage to Sesshomaru’s box, and it is a bit deep and large to add injury to insult. T___T;;;

I had him shipped with his bro, to “save” a bit on shipping, but that didn’t really save me much, let alone his box. I can’t even say I feel any sort of happiness. I only got this Sesshomaru because I don’t want to regret not owning him years down the line when he goes for an arm and a leg. I really didn’t like how they sculpted (or painted) his face, and was completely happy with just the GS POP one, but no, I had to get this too. Serves me right... DX  I do love the fact that I now own a Japanese scaled version of Sesshomaru, but there’s so much going on right now, that I can’t appreciate the figure itself -- then the damage to his box, and the super-expensive shipping due to restrictions and costs alone...too much!

I got the first release of G.E.M. Sasuke when that figure was released quite a few years ago, I was always hoping to be able to get a second one to unbox. And just my luck, this fourth re-release one came to me in his brown Megahouse shipping box, so I won’t unbox this one either it seems. I’m going to have to dig in my closet to get the first release, and do some deep contemplating, on whether I want to unbox the first release, or just shove him in this brown shipper-box and unbox this one...*sigh* collecting and unboxing is such a huge pain in the gut-hole, when you’re a weirdo. I also got my first Pop Mart figure. It’s the Sasuke Uchiha figure from the Naruto x Pop Mart collab. He’s really cute, but looks a bit weird, because of the hair and the smaller/less-wide size of his eyes -- it makes him look a bit off IRL, but still really cute.
