‘This Week’ Beats NBC’s ‘Meet the Press’ by Its Largest Total Viewer Margin in More Than 8 Years

Season to Date, ‘This Week’ Is No. 1 in Adults 25-54 for the 2nd Year in a Row and Leads the NBC program by Its Largest News Demo Margins in 7 Years

“This Week with George Stephanopoulos” ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (2.703 million) and Adults 25-54 (552,000) on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022, based on Live + Same Day Data from Nielsen Media Research.

“This Week” beat NBC’s “Meet the Press” by its largest Total Viewer margin (+469,000) in more than 8 years — since 6/1/14, based on regular telecasts.

“This Week” posted double-digit, week-to-week increases in Total Viewers (+31% - 2.703 million vs. 2.071 million) and Adults 25-54 (+40% - 552,000 vs. 395,000).

Season to date, “This Week” is improving in both Total Viewers (+4% - 2.726 million vs. 2.620 million) and Adults 25-54(+5% - 567,000 vs. 540,000) versus the same point last season.

“This Week” is the No. 1 Sunday public affairs program in Adults 25-54 for the 2nd year in a row, and is leading the NBC program by its largest news demo margins in 7 years — since the 2015-2016 season.  

“This Week” is beating NBC’s “Meet the Press” in Total Viewers for the 2nd straight season and by its largest lead in 27 years — since the 1995-1996 season. In addition, “This Week” is slashing its Total Viewers margin with “Face the Nation”(-65% - 37,000 vs. 107,000) to its smallest gap in 13 years — since the 2009-2010 season.

George Stephanopoulos is anchor, Martha Raddatz is chief global affairs correspondent and co-anchor, and Jonathan Karl is chief Washington correspondent and co-anchor of “This Week.” Dax Tejera is executive producer of the broadcast.
