The good thing about my flatmate making a huge mess of the kitchen whenever he cooks is that it means I know he already ate and that means I won’t have to be in the kitchen at the same time as him or interact with him in any way. The bad thing about this is that the kitchen is a huge mess
#quick inventory because my chicken still has 7 minutes to cook and i’m bored#1 chopping board with two knives on it. all covered in residue. tea towel on top probably contaminated with said residue#2 upside down sieve on table. unsure if clean or dirty. he probably doesn’t know either and it’ll sit there for the next 5 days at least#until someone either washes it or puts it away#3 a splodge of mince on the table. not wiped up even though we have four tea towels; a rag and multiple sponges and napkins#4 pan with a spoon in it on the hob. hob is thankfully off this time (sometimes he leaves them on even when nothing is cooking bc he wants#the house to burn down with us in it i guess)#pan and spoon are both dirty#5 myriad gross dishes in and next to the sink. have not been scraped meaning bits of vegetable shrapnel Will clog the sink again#6 random ingredients such as cumin powder strewn around#7 random cupboards and drawers open. including the ones that aren’t even his because he steals other people’s spices#you know why i’m not scared of the covid vaccine? it’s beause i live in this#we’ve all talked to him about all of these things over and over and he’ll apologise and clean up one time but then do it all again#or he’ll do some performative bullshit like wash all the dishes while letting us know he’s washing ALL the dishes#bitch who put them there???#they’ll be all his dishes and maybe one knife that i used that morning#don’t act like you’re doing something nice for the whole house when you’re literally just washing your own dishes#that’s all i’m saying#personal#rant
