This entire season holds such a dear place in my nostalgic shipper heart, but this scene in particular will be burned into my memory forever. It’s such a poetic turning point in a relationship that famed itself on its subtlety. 

Grissom is in a trance the entire time, as his thoughts are clearly only on Sara. He’s piecing together the puzzle in his own mind and he doesn’t even appear to realize what he’s just revealed to the team. Their faces are absolutely priceless as they try to comprehend his words, and if they’ve heard him correctly.

 As Grissom leads himself out of the room to follow a train of thought, the team is left behind shifting awkwardly, trying to absorb this bomb that’s just been dropped on them.  Can you even imagine how their minds are reeling with questions here?
