i have never understood how the issue of protecting the earth is controversial and not a unified front. we must all live on this planet, breathe its air, drink its water, feed from it's land... that is something consistent despite race, gender, sexuality, religion, class, etc. i just never saw how you could actively destroy something that you need in order to survive, even if it doesn't show effects in your lifetime, what about your children and future generations. how could you allow greed to blind you to the point that you kill your own home for a buck? its insane and unthinkable and if there's anything everyone should share a stance on, its this. at the moment there are no other options to leave the 3rd rock so why? i don't get it.
