𝐈𝐅 𝐎𝐍𝐋𝐘 𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐅𝐈𝐗 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐒𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 as fast as her crew could trash them. thor’s not exactly underfunded here, but some of these vehicles are gonna need new parts, and there’s no surefire way to predict exactly what’ll break before it does.  so that’s three orders now that he’s gotta place. a few days, at least, until the couriers can make it out here. and in his mind, he’s sorting through which suppliers have better parts for which makes and models, and between that and the gear he’s replacing, he very nearly forgets that he's  babysitting  at  all  ‘til  sofía  feels like speaking again.

thor sets down the angle grinder and pulls the rag from his back pocket. he still doesn’t know what the fuck she’s talking about, but wiping his hands does buy him some more time.   ❝   no, sweetheart.   ❞   he answers, and sticks his head back under the hood. almost sounds like he’s sorry to disappoint.   ❝   weren’t even any movies back then.   ❞    he can hear her pipe up with something like wow, you’re old  from that safe spot behind him, and the full-throated laugh it draws nearly has thor hit his head.   ❝   yeah, i am.  even older than your momma.   ❞

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 𝐇𝐈𝐌 𝐒𝐓𝐈𝐋𝐋 𝐒𝐌𝐎𝐋𝐃𝐄𝐑𝐒 in patches, craggy blackened earth and roaming sparks that crackle across the soot. and thor, laid out like a bad hangover, comes to in bleary waves  ——  blinking eyes and a furrowed brow. he doesn’t know exactly how long he’s been there, but apparently it was long enough to draw a bit of a crowd. a weird crowd, he realizes now.  but he’s already getting up, readjusting his aching back in the process and a grumble of something about how he’s too fuckin’ old for this shit.
