Der Kirchturm im Herzen der Stadt City of Hearts schlug achtzehn Uhr. Ghost zählte mit. Beschäftigt mit seinen eigenen Gedanken wirbelte er den Bleistift zwischen Finger und Daumen hin und her, das Gesicht verkniffen, die Lippen zusammengepresst. Es war Sommer. Ghost verabscheute den Sommer. Die Hitze, die langen Tage, den Andrang an Besuchern, die die Stadt unsicher machten. Er sehnte den Herbst mit seinen bunten Farben und den kühlen Regentagen herbei. Er bemerkte gar nicht, wie seine Gedanken langsam abdrifteten. Bevor er sich versah, war er wieder bei den Geschehnissen, die sich erst wenige Tage zuvor abgespielt hatten.

In seinen Fingern lag ein Blatt der hiesigen Tageszeitung. „𝙀𝙄𝙉 𝙃𝙀𝙍𝙕 𝘼𝙎𝙎 𝙐𝙉𝙏𝙀𝙍 𝙐𝙉𝙎?“ Die heutige Schlagzeile erregte seine Aufmerksamkeit. Mit zusammengezogenen Augenbrauen fing er an die Zeilen zu überfliegen.

Magierin und Seherin Odeliah, angestellt für die königliche Familie Newmont, berichtet laut verlässlichen Quellen von einer Vision. Schaurig beschreibt sie das, was sie gesehen hat wie folgt: „Es ist ein junger Magier, der zwischen uns lebt. Getrieben von Arroganz und Machtlust stürzt er König Ender von seinem Thron, indem er ihn verflucht und somit seine magische Essenz raubt. Es ist ein abgekartetes Spiel. Ein Spiel, gewoben aus Intrigen und Lügen. Der König wird stürzen und wir mit ihm.“

Ghost schüttelte den Kopf. Den König als verletzlich darzustellen galt als Hochverrat und doch war er sich sicher, dass Odeliah kein Haar gekrümmt werden würde. Sie arbeitete seit Jahrzehnten für die Newmonts. Trotz ihres Alters und der immer wirrer werdenden Visionen vertraute man noch immer auf das, was sie zu sehen glaubte. Doch ein Herz Ass? Das war schlichtweg unmöglich. Ghost hätte bemerkt, wenn in einem der Schüler der magischen Akademie ein solches Potenzial schlummerte. Undenkbar, dass solch eine Macht im Verborgenen blieb, wo sie doch alle darauf geschult wurden sie zu erkennen, um schlimmeres zu verhindern. Dass König Ender allerdings tatsächlich verflucht war, war nicht zu leugnen. Seit Wochen versuchte Ghost eine Lösung für das Problem zu finden. Nichts half. Trotz der Spekulationen war die Tatsache, dass König Ender bereits im Sterben lag, noch nicht veröffentlicht worden. Wenn es nach der Königin ginge, würde das auch niemals geschehen.  

Die Regentschaft des Königs neigte sich dem Ende zu. Ghost wusste, dass Enebris verdammt war sollte Rome den Thron besteigen und doch konnte er es nicht verhindern, wenn er keine Lösung für den Fluch fand. Was also, wenn in der Vision von Odeliah etwas Wahrheit steckte? War das Herz Ass die Lösung aller Probleme? Lag es an Ghost diesen Magier ausfindig und unschädlich zu machen? Diese Fragen quälten ihn nun seit Tagen.

‘the Consequence of Audience’

(animation Inspired by @mothercain)

I am an extraordinarily impatient person and could not possibly contain my excitement and pride for this so far, so I just had to share this with y’all :)

I would like to preface that this has more likeness to a storyboard/draft rather than a homogeneous animation. Eventually, I plan to produce a fully fleshed out animation. I love the current video as is, but it is more of a slideshow of visuals rather than one fullanimation. I’m used to creating short clips, so it will take a lot of learning and patience…
