Class 300 flanges except Lap Joint will be furnished with 0.06 (1.6mm) raised face, which is included in ‘Thickness’ (C) and ‘Length through Hub’ (Y1), (Y3).

For Slip-on, Threaded, Socket Welding and Lap Joint Flanges, the hubs can be shaped either vertical from base to top or tapered within the limits of 7 degrees.

Blind Flanges may be made with the same hub as that used for Slip-on Flanges or without hub.

The gasket surface and backside (bearing surface for bolting) are made parallel within 1 degree. To accomplish parallelism, spot facing is carried out according to MSS SP-9, without reducing thickness (C).

Depth of Socket (D) is covered by ANSI B 16.5 only in sizes through 3 inch, over 3 inch is at the manufacturer’s option.

Monel 400 ( 2.4360) Slip On Flange 

Monel Slip-On Pipe Flanges, As made obvious by their name, these pipe flanges slip over the pipe. They're manufactured with an inside diameter that is slightly bigger than the pipe's outside diameter. These attachments are connected to the pipe via fillet weld at the top and bottom of the flange.

However, customers should bear in mind that this initial cost saving may be diminished by the additional cost of the two fillet welds required for proper installation. Moreover, weld-neck flanges have a higher life expentancy than slip-on flanges under duress. It is fabricated with an inside diameter that is bigger than the pipe’s outside distance across. Class 300 flanges except Lap Joint will be furnished with 0.06 (1.6mm) raised face, which is included in ‘Thickness’ (C) and ‘Length through Hub’ (Y1), (Y3).

For Slip-on, Threaded, Socket Welding and Lap Joint Flanges, the hubs can be shaped either vertical from base to top or tapered within the limits of 7 degrees.

Blind Flanges may be made with the same hub as that used for Slip-on Flanges or without hub.

The gasket surface and backside (bearing surface for bolting) are made parallel within 1 degree. To accomplish parallelism, spot facing is carried out according to MSS SP-9, without reducing thickness (C).

Depth of Socket (D) is covered by ANSI B 16.5 only in sizes through 3 inch, over 3 inch is at the manufacturer’s option.

Weld neck flange is a type of pipe flange that incorporates a cast-in neck that is welded to the pipe. Unlike a plain flange that is slipped over the pipe prior to being welded into place, a weld neck flange has a spout-like neck that is beveled to match up to the pipe. Once the pipe is beveled to match the weld neck flange, a perfect V shape is created in which a butt weld is placed to connect the two components.

1. Class 150 flanges except Lap Joint will be furnished with 0.06 (1.6mm) raised face, which is included in ‘Thickness’ (C) and ‘Length through Hub’ (Y1), (Y3).

2. For Slip-on, Threaded, Socket Welding and Lap Joint Flanges, the hubs can be shaped either vertical from base to top or tapered within the limits of 7 degrees.

3. Blind Flanges may be made with the same hub as that used for Slip-on Flanges or without hub.

4. The gasket surface and backside (bearing surface for bolting) are made parallel within 1 degree. To accomplish parallelism, spot facing is carried out according to MSS SP-9, without reducing thickness (C).

Weld neck flange is a type of pipe flange that incorporates a cast-in neck that is welded to the pipe. Unlike a plain flange that is slipped over the pipe prior to being welded into place, a weld neck flange has a spout-like neck that is beveled to match up to the pipe. Once the pipe is beveled to match the weld neck flange, a perfect V shape is created in which a butt weld is placed to connect the two components.

A Nipoflange is used for branch pipelines at 90 degrees and is a product manufactured by combining a welding neck flange with a forged Nipolet.

However, a Nipoflange is a solid single piece of forged steel and not two different products welded together.

To install a Nipoflange, the piping staff has to weld the Nipolet part of the device on the run pipe and bolt the flanged part on the flange of the branched pipe.

Nipoflanges are available in different materials, such as carbon steel ASTM A105 (high-temperature service), ASTM A350 (low-temperature carbon steel), ASTM A182 (stainless steel grades, including duplex and super duplex) and nickel alloys (Inconel, Incoloy, Hastelloy, etc). Nipoflanges are also manufactured in the reinforced variant, which has additional mechanical strength compared to a standard Nipoflange.
