Just sharing my recent sketches here... If the formatting is fucked up, I will separate my yapping session on a different post...

So update, I've recently watched until season 2 of the original Fairly Oddparents, and oh boy, am I enjoying it immensely lol. I can't watch everything in one go, since I'm actually still so busy with university and... as usual with unavoidable family matters...

Still, at least I've noticed some people shared the same sentiments as myself on the original FOP. If they ended the series properly, then I won't have these lingering feelings of..., a void I guess about where FOP ended. Hm, I think this void feeling also got my creative drive going overdrive on how FOP would have ended, while also speculating on what Timmy's best fate would be from the show. I guess being reminded of the lackluster way original FOP ended made me sad angry that I wanted to go back into drawing again lol.

About the sketches, some of these were actually inspired by an FOP au by @cubbihue. A few days ago I've stumbled upon a post of theirs talking about the fairy species system and I got inspired lol. Their AU kinda helped me get the hang of how to draw the FOP characters in my own way (my artstyle is a chameleon so, my art will look somewhat different every time lol). So yeah, I do have a lot of questions regarding their AU, but I think I'll just observe them quietly for awhile. Still, if the creator of the AU is reading only this part of my yapping session, I think your AU is neat and cool! I want to read and see more of your AU when I'm able to. Have fun!

Other than that, I still can't get a handle on the FOP artstyle lol. I'll try until I get it.

Besides that, oof, I've also noticed something really upsetting (for me) on FOP. It seems some people blame Timmy for Cosmo and Wanda's relationship decline in the show? Blaming a depressed 10-year old (plus somewhat 50 year old but mentally 10 year old, the original does have some fucked up timelines lol) for that is just... kinda sad and shallow in my opinion? I think it's the people who handled the show and made the decisions were to blame. Heck, even Cosmo and Wanda's character writing and everything feels off in the later seasons. To me, this series has the same problems as Spongebob. As both series do suffer some kind of writing problem and seasonal rot.

Because of the new FOP series, it seems people who hate the original FOP and especially Timmy lmao came out of the woodworks to raise their pitchforks and burn Timmy at the stake for being an insufferable hellspawn hahahhaha. I mean, he is a little rascal hellspawn, but he's just that way? That's what his character is meant to be. Someone who does outrageous things because they didn't get enough attention and care from the people around them, especially from their birth parents. He's 10, of course he's going to make mistakes in his wish making decisions. He's a kid. That's the point of his character.

With his many flaws, that doesn't mean a child is the reason for a romantic relationship failings... I don't think anyone should blame a child for something like that at all. That's just fucking common sense. Adults are more mentally developed than children. Why are the children to blame for something that they don't even understand yet? It is the adults responsibility to nurture and care for the child, so that they grow up knowing their responsibilities and be happy with their lives. Why blame them for something that is out of their control like the relationship failings between two adults??? God fucking damn, look in a mirror first before blaming others, especially a child. (Sorry for the swearing, the Timmy hate made me depressed thinking about it.)

Timmy's not a saint, but he tries y'know? Can't you see that? That's what makes the original FOP so compelling to me. Is that, they are so fucking brave to put someone as depressed with many flaws as Timmy as the MC.

I think that's all I want to say... For now, I'll be observing quietly in the background. Thanks for reading my yapping session.

I absolutely adore your art style! Do you have any tips? Specifically for the fairies cause I am struggling to draw them.

thank you so much! well, this is gonna be a long post.

Im gonna be real, the best art advise anyone can give you is to use references and to break complicated stuff down into easier shapes. for example:

this is my basic body skeleton! i always start with the circle of the head and work my way down to the feet. i have highlighted some part of the body which are actually just simple shapes.

the center line down the middle of the torso also helps me draw on collars, bra cups, ties, or any other more difficult clothing more accurate!

However i have to ask you, are you comfortable while you draw?

I remember when I first started drawing digital, i was really uncomfortable with the basic set up of my program. The white canvas and the light setting of the program was really bright and irritated my eyes. And the contrast of the pure black I used for drawing wasn't really helping. sketching and doing line art was my least favorite part of drawing because of this.

you don't have to draw on a white canvas, you can also use multiple colours for sketching if you wanted. Once I stoppend using a pure white canvas I noticed i stopped staring at a empty canvas not knowing what i wanted to draw anymore!

also sometimes when a drawing doesn't want to look right, i switch back to traditional. idk why but when my brain sometimes struggles with a specific pose or character design, it comes to me a lot more easier when I switch back onto paper. i guess the change of scenery opens up the creativity again haha.

don't be afraid to simplify stuff, you don't have to draw everything! As long as it still translates to the thing, it should be fine.

these two are a bit clip studio exclusive,

but Gradient maps! god how I love my gradient maps, it just makes the colours pop! I never draw without it anymore. I always pick the sunset gradient, put it in Linear light mode and put it on 10% (cus its really saturated on 100%)

usually i have it on while i sketch and line, and turn it off so i can properly colour and shade. i turn it back on at the end again

the clip studio assets has a lot of beautiful stuff in there created from other users. (a good amount for free too) for example I got the lace pattern of my shawl from there. and its really easy to import the downloaded stuff into the program.

now this is a drawing hack that blew my mind when I first saw it! i use it all the time and I just have to share this!

whenever you want to draw something random like sparkles, stars, bubbles, feathers, falling leaves, or anything that you want to float around your characters, position them in the form of a triangle.

its even better if you put two points of the triangle closer together and then the third further away. this makes it look random but still looking appealing to the eye, and not oddly placed.

now that thats out of the way! Fairies! The one thing i struggled with when drawing them first is their hair. I suggest looking through the fop tag to see how other people have drawn them and take inspiration from your favorites and make up your own. (do not trace tho! that should be obvious!)

when I draw hair I think of it separated in two parts, the front and the back. I usually start with the front hair pieces, then draw in the jaw, ears and rest of the head, then continue with the back section of the hair.

the only outliers of this are Timmy and Peri. when I draw Timmy (Ymmit as well) I start with his hat, before drawing his hair. Since I draw Peris hair-swirl over his hairline, i start drawing his upper back hair style first before drawing his head and then his mullet.

wings can also be tricky. the fairy wings i have given then have a more butterfly look. if you also want to base off the wings to real life animals or bugs you can use them flying as references to. Or you could even cut out the wing shape out of paper, fold it in the middle and take pictures in the angle you desire.

I hope this somehow helped, I thought about what could have helped me if I had known it sooner. even if most of these were for generic drawing.

So this was supposed to be part of my other fop post but it got way too long (both posts did tbh) and is a different topic than the other one. So yeah here’s a bunch of random thoughts about the show in general from what I’ve seen of it. For context I’ve only seen the first 4-5 episodes + “Battle of the Dimmsonian” + the Cosmo-Wanda-Peri scenes in “Lost in Fairy World” and “Operation: Birthday Takeback”.

SPOILERS for “Operation: Birthday Takeback” for the last three dashes (2.4k words below):

- Putting it in first since it’s still related to Peri but I’m pretty amused by the whole “Tumblr sexyman” situation. I mean, less than two weeks ago all canon pics we had of him were baby pics. It’s the same deal when I see people call him a father figure to Dev, I can’t help but be like “wdym father figure? He’s barely an adult! He’s too young!”

It’s like imagine you have a neighbor who have a baby when you’re 9-10, then they move out and 20 years later you meet their kid as an adult. You can clearly tell they’re an adult and treat them as such but also it’s a bit weird bc your last and only memories of them were of a baby. Idk, I see Peri’s character as an adult but also he’s still a bit of a kid, you know? I feel like I explain this better in the other post tbh.

- In retrospect it’s also very funny to see how, when people talk about the decline of fop, they point at the inclusion of the new characters, including Poof. Yet look where we are now! If you thought the baby was the problem, apologize to him, now! /j

But yeah more seriously, personally I never minded Poof. He was definitely a useless addition, like outside of the handful of episodes focused on him he mostly just stands there looking at the other characters, but he was also a cute baby, so I’ve always been fine with him being around. He’s a useless but inoffensive addition, and I think the decline of the show around that time had less to do with him and more to do with the writing as a whole.

- Last thing about Peri before moving on to the show in general, which tbh I could've put in the other post: I've seen people talk about the idea of Hazel and Dev switching fairies and I kind of agree with it.

Not only because Cosmo and Wanda have the experience needed to help a kid like Dev (though it wouldn't be all sunshine and rainbows) while Hazel's situation is easier for Peri, but also it's worth noting that Dev needs a parental figure, which Cosmo and Wanda can be, while Hazel misses her older brother, who Peri is around the same age of. Idk, I feel like this could work, or at least make things easier for everyone involved (but also especially for Dev).

- Something I originally wanted to put in the tags of the other post but fuck it: I’m really not a fan of them releasing the episodes so soon one after the other. With serialized shows, I’m always been more of a fan of having an episode a week you can chew on and theorize about, rather than being given everything at once. Also it takes a while for the cargo to get on the ships if you catch my drift.

I’d also complain about seeing all those plot-related episodes one after the other with none of the more casual stories in-between that give us more character moments, but honestly that’s on me for looking up spoilers.

- Going to the early show, I think the first episode is such a good introduction! I especially like the amount of focus on Cosmo and Wanda, it’s good to have them reintroduced given how flanderized they became in the og show. I’m especially happy with Cosmo! He arguably had it worse than Wanda in the og and it’s so good to see him shine this much in this first episode (also I love his human form having a bit of a gut)! On that note, they did a fantastic job having them around a lot while still giving Hazel enough time to be introduced properly and get us to care about her as the MC!

But yeah I really like this first episode, fantastic beginning to the show! The only issue I “really” have with it is the way Cosmo and Wanda go back to being godparents just because Hazel made a strong enough wish or something, it felt a bit arbitrary rather than them just telling her who they are.

And on that note, big fan of that one scene where they immediately notice her trying to run away and try to talk her out of it. I love the contrast between them starting off as disasters being barely capable of passing off as humans at the beginning of the episode, and them being perfectly in their element the second they start talking to Hazel about her running away in this scene. It’s such a good way to see how much experience they have with taking care of kids!

- I’m not going to go episode by episode but one thing that bothers me a lot in the second one is that rule of “kids should get whatever they wish for”. Doesn’t that...go against the whole concept of having rules in the first place???

They should’ve replaced it with something along the lines of “a kid should always get the fairy that fits them the best”, not only bc it would work perfectly well for the episode, but also from what I’ve heard Foop (now Irep) is coming back and I could 100% see him use that rule to his advantage given Peri and Dev were such a bad match (I’m guessing anti-fairies don’t actually follow Da Rules but maybe they could still use it as an excuse regardless since fairies do have to follow them or something?)

- Call we talk about the fact Hazel is clearly autistic? Like is this a canon thing in the show? Are there people out there talking about it? No because seriously:

The fidget toys (Cosmo and Wanda’s disguises), her special interest for rocks, her anxiety over making new friends which is reinforced as uncommon when that one girl she befriends comments on how easy and not scary it is to approach other people (also Hazel’s “what am I supposed to talk about with them? School lunches?” comment in the teachers friend episode), her liking for fries which could be seen as her being potentially picky (bit of a stretch tho), her comment about liking the DMV if only for the reaction she gets that makes her seem “different”, her struggles to come up with a wish on the fly with minimal/vague instructions (episode 2), her character arc throughout the show apparently having to do with her not wanting things to change (me too girl), her being considered mature for her age, the angry outbursts when things don’t go how she hoped, pretty sure there’s also a lot of stimming that I have yet to pick up on (see if any of them repeat often). Like, there’s no way ALL of that was a coincidence!

I’d also like to mention at the beginning of the Dino episode, when her dad is explaining things to her, he starts talking louder and louder in excitement until his wife tells him to quiet down. Makes me think her dad’s likely neurodivergent as well. Also this moment hurts my soul a bit, as someone who’s both been on the receiving end of it and done it to someone else, in both cases it sucks.: /

- Took me until like episode 4 to realize the town she lives in is named after the Dimmadomes, with the hat in it (the very first shot of the intro). Also you can see their infinite house in the background, both in that shot and the show in general, and I absolutely adore that they committed so hard to this joke! That giant ambiguously-shaped-like-a-hat skyscraper that we never see the top of is just *chief kiss*.

- On that note Dev’s introduction in the first episode made me laugh, if only for the references. I also find it kinda funny he has such a big speaking role considering he doesn’t do anything for the rest of the pilot and the next few episodes. Then again I guess it’s in character for him to make such a show of introducing himself.

- Still on general stuff, I’m a bit curious about how the timeline went in regards to Cosmo and Wanda retiring and going on vacation “right after” Timmy (iirc they don’t voice it like that in the show). Like I’m having a hard time believing they would just ditch their then-child son to go on vacation, and then come back when he’s an adult. So I ended up having a bunch of headcanons.

Basically, after leaving Timmy they do take what was supposed to be a short leave to think of their future since it feels strange to get a new kid after so long with the same one + I like the idea that Cosmo and Wanda’s marriage did suffer while living with Timmy and they want to work on it before getting a new kid (the whole thing about them feeling confined, made worse if the “stopping time for 50 years” wish is canon) + Poof/Peri is struggling with the reality of having to leave Timmy behind and is nervous about his parents having a new godkid because of it.

Eventually they decide to retire, got to marriage counseling, possibly get Poof/Peri into therapy, and raise their son until he’s an older teen/young adult, at which point they leave for their vacation. And while the vacation is 10 thousand years for them, it’s like, 5 years at max in their present. And in that meantime, Peri starts his godparents studies (or however it works), leaves the house and changes his name.

Btw Cosmo and Wanda would 100% invite him to the vacation, he’d just refuse in a mix between wanting to be away from his parents for once, wanting to maybe surprise them a bit with his work and/or just get started with work, and not knowing how long the vacation would be. He’d also probably tell them to just use this time as some new honeymoon to finish rebuilding their marriage (though by that point it must’ve gone back to being strong). Oh and Cosmo and Wanda would send Peri postcards every so often, which would also let him know how long they’ve been gone.

Once they come back from vacation, I’d imagine there’s like less than a month between them “moving to the human world” and meeting Hazel, hence why they didn’t reconnect with Peri. They didn’t really know how to contact him and were busy with the move, and afterwards they had a godkid to take care of so they couldn’t exactly go back to Fairyworld.

As for Peri, he hears through the gravepine that his parents are back, and would be happy until he realizes they’ve been gone for 10 thousand years, hence him freaking out about meeting them again (he doesn’t know how much they might’ve changed with how long it’s been). Also he can’t contact them bc he’d hear about them coming back due to them taking in Hazel, meaning they’re in the human world and he doesn’t know where. Also he might be intimidated to contact them, which doesn’t help his decision-making.

So yeah, that’s all for how I could imagine this whole vacation thing going and how it fits with them having a child.

- Since I’m talking about Cosmo and Wanda’s marriage, I’ve heard about the whole “they fixed their marriage” before watching the show and oh my god I can’t get over how fucking adorable those two are in this show!!! I fucking love them.

- And on that note I’m incredibly amused that this show had the balls to reference the mpreg. Twice. Especially since it doesn’t even specify the whole “that’s just how fairies work”! In the eyes of people who never watched the og show, “A New Wish” just casually dropped the fact that Cosmo’s a trans man (bc let’s be real, how else are you supposed to interpret those lines if you haven’t watched the og show?) or you get the vibe that the writers wanted to make him trans (+ Wanda by proxy since she’s Peri’s bio mom) but weren’t allowed so that’s how they got past the censors.

And I love this because you just know Hartman would be furious about it! With our current society more aware of trans people and how men can in fact get pregnant, I could definitely see him sweep the whole mpreg thing under the rug, hoping people would forget about his “”accidentally-progressive”” (and also very sexist 😒) episode, but nope! New show said Cosmo was pregnant and gave birth! And better yet it didn’t even elaborate further! It just goes “btw this guy has an uterus and was once pregnant, here’s his bio child if you need more proof” and then walks on like nothing happened, I love it!

- Going back to the episodes talk for the last three dashes, there’s that shot at the very end of “Operation: Birthday Takeback” that I really dislike. It’s the one when Dev lashes out on Peri, with him hovering over Peri who’s laying on the ground in fear.

Really not a big fan of this shot bc 1. It makes Dev look way too much like a villain, especially with the way Peri’s laying like a servant that gets beaten up, and 2. Peri, honey, you’re a grown ass man; why are you so scared of that 10 years old scarred kid that’s lashing out while in a very vulnerable mental state? What are you doing on the ground buddy? I’m not asking for him to fight back but at least stand up! Don’t act like that kid can actually hurt you! Btw I’m completely fine with Peri afterwards looking like a dejected puppy (after Dev makes his wish), it’s just that one shot with him on the ground that I dislike.

- Obviously I’m genuinely curious to see how things are going to go in the next episodes (which apparently air tonight?). Like obviously Dev is going to spiral but if you have a scene at school how will it go? How will Hazel feel about the whole thing? What about Peri? Is he going to be gone for a few episodes? Be a temporary third fairy to Hazel? Crash at Cosmo and Wanda’s for a while?

(Personally I’m hoping for the third option, it would be a good way to still give him appearances to show the main plot’s still going without giving him to much screentime, which could take away from Hazel. Also given how much he wants to appear independent, I don’t see him being a third fairy to her, though I think he’d be ok with staying at his parents for a bit, if only for emotional support (though tbh I doubt they’ll do that, most likely he’ll be doing his own thing off-screen for an episode or two). Also I want to see a “human” design for him)

OK so I wrote this yesterday before the Irep episode came out, so on one hand nevermind all that but on the other hand I’m letting it in bc I AM curious as to how things are going to evolve with our main cast, especially with Dev spiraling and pushing both his bestie and fairy away.

- Btw is nobody going to talk about how Vicky’s dress might be a reference to one of the “Oh Yeah” shorts?

- VERY LAST SECOND ADDITION, SPOILERS FOR IREP: So yesterday before I finished both this and the other post the new episodes dropped, with a few clips shared on Tumblr. And OH MY GOD IREP’S DESIGN!!! The fact that they kept him as a cube makes me so happy!!! I was HOPING at least ONE part of him would be a cube and they delivered!!! He looks like absolulte dogshit I love it!!! Bc yeah for some reason I remember Foop as a character you’re not supposed to take seriously at all? And as a result I really like how stupid Irep looks. A+ design right there! /gen

Small 'Fic Posting News

I moved a lot of early FOP character studies and warm-ups to my unrevealed Riddle WIPs collection on AO3, so they're easily on hand for me to tag and post when I feel ready.

A lot of these are things I enjoyed, but didn't feel comfy sharing back in 2016/17. They're cool to look back on and I'm ready to let them go. Some are suggestive, some are emotionally intense, some are very simple character studies, so as always, tread with care.

I also think they're neat because they don't build on each other, so they're pretty low-brainpower reads (imo), which some people may like.

The preview scene you see in "Trouble Beyond Paradise" finally broke me... It's been a favorite since 2017 and I just really want to share... That one's a multi-chapter and I hope you guys like it. I love Foop/Anti-Marigold and their weird situation... Like, of COURSE if Poof has severe anxiety about accidentally forcing them into dubcon, Foop's genius idea is to get the first time over with before Poof/Goldie can bind them into it. So funny. They are silly little guys... the people have a right to know...

how do you feel about pnf coming back for two whole seasons?

Do NOT message me about this answer. You can reply to this post, but don’t come into my inbox or messenger about anything I’ve written.

I’ve been holding onto these for a while because I didn’t want to a respond with my knee-jerk reaction of extreme pessimism (I actually had a whole rant drafted up that I deleted). I still think this is a bad idea that could potentially undo all the development the characters have been through (like what happened with Doof in MML) and bungle continuity (I doubt there will be zero continuity errors in the new seasons given that they messed up several things in CATU). I also hope they keep to the same formula of being a parody of episodic shows. All good things must come to an end lest they become a shambling corpse of their past self that a company is beating for money (Spongebob Squarepants, The Fairly Oddparents, and The Simpsons come to mind as several cartoon series that have run--at least they put FOP out of its misery a few years ago--way beyond their prime and suffered for it).

Now that the negativity’s out of the way, here are the only ways I will be able to enjoy the new seasons of PnF:

1) If there’s a timeskip. We’ve seen the kids in elementary school and high school, but not middle school. I think it would be a great opportunity to pop in on their lives when they’re still fun (good LORD do I have issues with the A-plot of “Act Your Age”)! Even just the next summer would be fine.

2) If it’s one of the other universes, like the one where Lawrence is a polar bear/Phineas has a different number of shirt stripes (”Lost in Danville”) or the second dimension (ATSD).

3) If it’s a reboot/remake. Fresh slate, nothing to worry about.

4) If I just watch the show and never look through the show’s tags ever again. I KNOW not everyone’s watched the hundreds of episodes that the show consists of multiple times. It’s NOT reasonable for me to expect everyone to remember tiny details or patterns. Nevertheless, it IS majorly annoying to go into the tags and see people being “BUT WHAT IF” when something in the show contradicts that or even supports it/it doesn’t need to be posed as a hypothetical. Equally annoying is “BUT WHY DOES” when the answer can be found in the details/patterns. If this is going to be a continuation of the same summer, then the entirety of seasons 1-4 of PnF and what happened in them are still relevant. I am too tired to be fending off dozens of hundreds of thousands of people who love charging ahead and spreading misinformation. I also am not going to be interested in people revisiting old debates that were settled over 10 years ago. The new episodes are doubtlessly going to bring in new watchers, and who knows if those people will watch the original run.

5) If I treat them as not canon to Phineas and Ferb (2007-2015).

My final thoughts on the subject:

It is not possible for this show to be modern. They’re probably going to try and add in modern references like they did with CATU, and I’m going to hate it. 

If it’s a continuation, then the futures of “Act Your Age” and “Phineas and Ferb’s Quantum Boogaloo” are the definitive endgames for Phineas and Ferb (respectively 10 and 20 years into the future) whether the new seasons fit within them or not.

...Also, bring back Stacy Hirano in a meaningful way 2k23.

Borrower Skyes Au: Ema and Klavier Sizeswap - A Small Encounter

I said in the tags of the last part "see you guys in another 3 months when i post part 3" as a joke, and it turned out to not be a joke lmao. well, it's here now. let's just assume part 4 will be posted in 3 months. again.

The both of them agreed that Klavier had to stay hidden while Ema went out to do the investigation. The fop didn’t exactly want any attention drawn to him like this, and Ema didn’t want to risk other beans somehow finding out about borrowers through the shrunken fop. After a bit of deliberation, they decided that he would sit on her shoulder, hidden by her hair. That would allow for easier communication between the two of them without drawing the attention of any onlookers.

Ema sighed, wincing as she undid her ponytail. She blew at the few stray strands that settled down right on her face, fighting the urge to tie it back up again.

(Just for a few hours. It only needs to be down for a few hours.)

She could put up with it for a few hours, as long as it meant making sure the fop stayed hidden and keeping the borrower secret safe.

So with the glimmerous fop out of sight on her shoulder, she stuffed what she could in her bag for the investigation and walked out the fop’s front door.

It turned out walking with a borrower (or borrower-sized bean) on one’s shoulder was harder than the two of them initially thought. Even if he could hold onto her hair for some support, if she walked too fast then he’d end up falling off with a yelp, hanging by locks of her hair. She had to pace herself with each step she took, along with being very conscious of each stride to keep herself steady. It’d be way too inconvenient to keep having to catch him every time the fop fell.

At least making it to the crime scene didn’t take too long.

The crime took place at some empty “convenient store,” apparently having been abandoned for years after closing. It would’ve been a nice place to live in and borrow from, if the shelves weren’t so bare.

“There shouldn’t be many people who’ll see you since this part of the city is rather quiet,” the fop said into her ear as she approached the building. “I’m a little concerned about the fact that there aren’t any police guarding the area, though…”

Ema just shrugged (almost accidentally knocking the fop off in the process). “Hey, it’s better if it’s easier for me to get in, right?” she quietly responded, weaving through the yellow police tape blocking the open door. “Don’t want any beans catching me here.”

Despite now being the size of a bean, something about sneaking onto a crime scene made her feel like she was out borrowing again. It’d actually been a while since she borrowed properly, ever since she started hanging out with the fop (for reasons she’ll never understand). Being able to get in the building without anyone seeing her, she couldn’t help but smile.

When she got herself and the fop back to normal, she’d need to borrow from him again, the old fashioned way.

Off in the corner behind a counter, white tape outlined where the body had been found. Two small holes could be seen in the walls above the outline and one within the outline, probably bullet holes indicating that the victim was shot. On the floor was a red stain, most likely the blood from the victim.

Ema couldn’t stop herself as a giggle escaped from her lips. Her fingers tingled as she grabbed the bottle of luminol from her bag. To think this very bottle she was now holding with a single hand stood so much taller than her only hours ago!

“I’ve always wanted to try this,” she found herself whispering, though whether it was to herself or to the fop, she wasn’t too sure. 

She squatted down next to the white outline, aiming the luminol at the red stain, and sprayed. Sure enough, the stain reacted, glowing faintly in the dim, unlit building.

“Kleine Fräulein, we already knew the blood was there,” the fop deadpanned on her shoulder.

Ema just scoffed. “Well, duh,” she retorted. She could feel the tiny fop frantically clinging onto her hair as she stood back up. “Any dumb bean can see the blood there. I just needed to make sure your luminol worked and that you didn’t just get me some useless fluids.”

He didn’t reply.

Fine by her. She didn’t need his dumb voice distracting her as she investigated, anyway.

So she got to work.

She made her way around the small store, using the different chemicals she stuffed in her bag earlier to learn what she could about the crime. This was her first time officially using all this stuff, but all the times the fop would sneak her into the Prosecutor’s Office and tell her about the jobs of forensic scientists basically prepared her for this moment. And given how he said nothing against how she used the chemicals, she took that as a sign she was doing pretty well. (Or he was too scared to say anything to upset her. One of the two.)

She didn’t know how much the police had already learned from the scene, but Ema was already finding a lot of evidence and clues about the culprit on her own. She made careful mental notes of everything, trying to connect any of her findings together like that other prosecutor would to see what she could figure out.

“That’s weird, I would’ve thought Prosecutor Gavin would be here.”

Ema jumped where she knelt, scrambling to hide behind one of the dusty shelves, the fop gripping her hair tightly.

“He’s usually always at the crime scene.”

(Crap!)

So lost in her logic, she forgot to pay attention for any beans that might see her here. Then again, the fop did tell her no one would see her here, so she was going to blame this all on him. It was his fault for letting her lower her guard.

(Thanks a lot, fop.)

“Then that just means we’ve got a head start! Come on!”

Listening for their footsteps, she carefully scooted around the shelf as they moved, staying out of their line of sight.

“Found the lights, Polly!”

Ema blinked, her eyes quickly adjusting as the whole building was now lit up.

Well, this sure was a problem.

“Guess we can’t investigate with Herr Forehead and Fräulein Wright here now, can we?” the fop nervously whispered into her ear.

Sure, the presence of new unknown beans made things harder for her, but Ema was a borrower! She wasn’t going to let something like this stop her from her investigation!

“I just have to make sure they don’t see me then, no big deal,” she whispered back under her breath.

“Kleine Fräulein!”

She ignored him. She just went to crawling around on the floor, investigating her area quietly without drawing the new beans’ attention. 

Sneaking around the crime scene was pretty much like sneaking onto the crime scene. And just like sneaking onto a crime scene, it wasn’t so different from borrowing. Moving around quietly without letting beans know you were there, it was basically the same thing. And if she would be collecting evidence from the scene as well, that would make it even more like—

“Ma’am, this is a crime scene.”

Ema nearly jumped out of her skin.

“Only related parties are allowed to be here.”

She’d been seen. 

Ema cursed the fact that she was bean-sized, that had to be why she wasn’t able to sneak around as well as she used to. Couldn’t have anything to do with her being out of practice when it came to borrowing, definitely not. Paying more attention to her surroundings probably would’ve helped too, sure, but it wasn’t like there were many places to hide at her current size.

God, being a bean was more annoying than she thought.

“I’m… allowed to be here,” Ema found herself replying as she slowly got to her feet. She didn’t sound too freaked out, did she?

“Kleine Fräulein, what are you doing?!” the fop hissed in her ear, even quieter than before. He was probably even more freaked out than she was.

She just ignored him.

“Yeah, I’m here investigating, uh… under orders of the glimmerous fo— er, K-Klavier Gavin.” Calling him anything other than a fop felt so weird to her, a little wrong even, but maybe if she name-dropped him, they’d just leave her alone.

Maybe.

She turned around, deciding to get a look at the beans who had seen her. She almost didn’t recognize them now that she was taller than both of them.

“You… work with Prosecutor Gavin?”

One of them wore a red suit with a white dress shirt and a blue tie, a gold bracelet adorning his wrist. His brown hair was mostly slicked back, minus the two hair antennas that stood straight up at his hairline. From the way he stared at her, it was obvious he didn’t believe her. 

Next to him was a bean clearly younger and just a little shorter than he was, but not by much. She wore a large blue hat and a blue cape over her black dress, along with white boots. Unlike the other bean, she had a friendly smile as she bounced on her heels.

“Yup! I definitely do!” 

Apollo Justice and Trucy Wright, the defense team that usually rivaled the fop in the courtroom.

Ema placed a hand on her hip, forcing a smile. She wasn’t acting too suspicious, was she? “The fop— I mean, P-Prosecutor Gavin instructed me to investigate the scene. Yeah, so that’s what I’m doing right now!”

She didn’t actually know the two personally, she’d just see them sometimes whenever the fop brought her along during investigations, and she’d hear about them from him as well. But this was her first time actually talking to them directly.

Apollo continued to stare skeptically, his eyebrows furrowing as he began to fidget with his bracelet. “You don’t look like a detective,” he countered. For a moment, Ema could’ve sworn that his eyes were glowing a dim red.

Ema had only spoken to a handful of beans in her life, a couple of them having been unwilling encounters. Even now when she was the size of one and taller than these two, it wasn’t any easier. She could feel her heart pounding against her chest as the two of them stared right at her.

“W-Well, that’s because I’m not!” she replied, crossing her arms. “I’m a forensic scientist!”

She did her best not to react as she felt the fop yanking on her hair.

“You are NOT a forensic scientist!” he hissed. He was so quiet this time, she almost didn’t hear him. “And you can’t just lie to Herr Forehead like that, he’ll see right through you!”

Sure enough, the way Apollo stared at her, his hand tightly gripping his bracelet, it was like he was piercing straight into her with just his eyes. Somehow, this felt worse than just being simply seen by a bean.

“Wow, that sounds so cool!” Trucy exclaimed before Apollo could reply, her smile still bright and friendly. She seemed more willing to believe Ema’s lie, unlike Apollo. “So what have you found out about the crime scene with forensic science, Ms… uh…”

Ema hesitated.

Was her name a normal bean name? She didn’t know enough bean names to truly know the difference between a bean name and borrower name. Would they somehow realize she was a borrower and not a bean just by that?

“Ema… Skye…ence. Ema Skyence! Yup! That’s my name! Skyence! Like ‘science’ but with the ‘k’ sound!”

This was stupid. She didn’t need to see the fop or hear him say anything on her shoulder. He definitely knew it was stupid, too.

Being a bean was so much harder than she thought it would be.

Apollo’s brows only furrowed more at her probably suspicious sounding response, while Trucy’s smile grew wider.

“Oooh! You were basically destined to be a forensic scientist, huh?”

Ema felt herself release the breath she didn’t realize she was holding. Maybe her answer didn’t sound as stupid as she thought. At least Trucy was somehow convinced. Apollo however…

He only kept arguing with her, bombarding her with questions about her forensic science job and working with the glimmerous fop. Most of them she could answer with confidence thanks to the fop bringing her to the Prosecutor’s Office (guess he was good for something, she supposed), but for some of the questions…

She just hoped she answered in a very bean-like, not suspicious way.

At some point as they argued, Apollo asking something about cases she worked on, she heard the tiny fop on her shoulder sharply gasp. She couldn’t exactly ask him about it, not without making Apollo and Trucy more suspicious of her.

She soon found out why, though. A quick glance at Trucy, and she could feel her blood run cold.

The young bean girl was staring right at her, with intense eyes just like Apollo’s and no longer smiling. Was this the same bean from before who was giving her such a friendly smile just a few minutes ago? Wait, Trucy wasn’t staring at her, she was staring at her shoulder…

Nervously, Ema pinched a lock of her hair between two of her fingers, doing what she could to discreetly keep the fop out of sight. This didn’t look suspicious, did it?

Ema couldn’t stay here. If Trucy knew something, the fop was bound to be found out sooner or later.

“You know what!” she declared loudly, stuffing the chemicals in her hand back into her bag. “As cool as it is to talk to you kids—”

“I’m not a kid—”

“—I really need to head out now. Do some forensic sciencing stuff.”

Not giving them the chance to say anything else, Ema turned on her heels, weaving through the yellow police tape once more and walking away as fast as she could. This wasn’t any reason to suspect her of hiding something, was it?

They weren’t going after her, so maybe not.

“That was a close call,” Ema sighed the moment the crime scene was out of sight. Her pace slowed down, and she took deep breaths, trying to calm her pounding heart.

Right by her ear, the tiny fop groaned. “Way too close if you ask me,” he muttered. She could feel the way he adjusted himself on her shoulder, trying to keep himself from falling.

“Hey, they didn’t suspect a thing!” she retorted, sounding much more confident compared to how hard her heart banged against her chest. She still couldn’t shake off that unnerving feeling from Trucy’s stare…

She lightly shook her head. Never mind that now.

“You know, I’m getting the hang of this human bean thing! I bet they don’t even realize anything!”

Apollo glared as he watched the young woman run off and away from the crime scene, still fidgeting with his bracelet. He was still learning to perceive with its help, but he’d never met anyone who made it react as much as it did just now. Actually, he didn’t even need his bracelet to tell him there was something off about… well, everything she said.

“She’s definitely hiding something,” he said to Trucy, finally letting go of his bracelet. The woman— “Emma,” or so she claimed— was just so… so…

She was so suspicious.

“You noticed too?” the young magician asked, giving him a determined look.

“You kidding?! You don’t need to perceive to be able to see that!”

“No, not just that! I mean—” Trucy crossed her arms, her brows furrowing a bit, “—I noticed something. Something on Ms. Skyence’s shoulder that she didn’t want us to see.”

“Something on her shoulder?”

Who was she really? What exactly was her connection to Prosecutor Gavin? Why was she so insistent on being at the crime scene? And why did she insist that she was a forensic scientist when it was so obvious she wasn’t?

Apollo shook his head, sighing. Unless she was important to either the case or Prosecutor Gavin’s absence, he probably wouldn’t be getting his answers any time soon.

“Never mind, we can worry about her later. Besides, the police aren’t here, so we actually have the chance to investigate. Come on.”

sometime soon i want to write like. a casual info post about indie ttrpgs... until the past few years i was only Vaguely aware that systems other than dnd existed and even then i certainly didn't realize the sheer scale of the scene that exists. or the diversity in types of games, from ones that are just as thorough and robust as well-known systems down to ones that literally fit on a business card -- and now that i'm into it i take it for granted but i do wonder how many ppl, when i talk abt my games, maybe just have no idea what they are?? but small/indie ttrpgs are so much fucking fun, and imo are frankly often a much better way to get new ppl into roleplaying games than hitting them over the head with the excel sheet experience of rolling baby's first dnd character, and i want EVERYONE TO KNOW ABOUT THEM. 9 years ago today, a baby was born unto the fop franchise, and the fandom was never the same again

this next part has nothing to do with poof, but i watched It’s A Wishful Life recently and i was thinking about how in the universe where timmy was never born, chester has cosmo and wanda. and i was like, “you know...this whole episode is about how better off everyone’s life is without timmy...so why is chester somehow miserable enough to have fairy godparents now?”

i mean, theoretically, one could argue that this means that chester is actually worse off without timmy’s existence, and that timmy did in fact have one whole reason to have been born: in order to shine a single light into his best friend’s life.

alternatively...if we’re still going with the theme that i know the episode was actually trying to convey: “no, EVERYONE’S life is better without timmy, no exceptions,” then maybe the reason chester gets cosmo and wanda in the timmy-less universe is because of the fairy godparent shortage (which is unsurprising, due to the constant growth of human life and the stagnant fairy population--plus, the fairy godparent shortage is, like...actually canon in s10). so that means that in the real, bonafide fop universe where timmy exists, chester was always meant to have fairy godparents...but somehow, timmy won the coin toss, and that’s why he has cosmo and wanda and chester doesn’t. so...that would actually make sense, at least as far as his life being better if timmy had never existed: he’d have fairies

(of course, this could be debated further when you look at fairy idol and norm’s assignment to be chester’s fairy godfather. i think that would lean more toward the first option (that chester’s life is worse off without timmy’s existence), as chester clearly cites one of the reasons he is truly The Most Miserable Kid In The World is because his best friend has abandoned him. but, of course, it was all exacerbated by the consequences of the rulefree genie wishes norm granted him; what with him also having lost all of his worldly possessions, having his father thrown in prison, and making him live with foster parents who own a banjo shop. prior to those developments in chester’s life, he arguably wasn’t the most miserable. i digress)

so anyway, this got me thinking. if we go with the 2nd option: everyone’s life is better without timmy, no exceptions, and the only reason chester never got fairies is because timmy exists, and, for whatever reason, timmy got first dibs on em...wouldn’t it make more sense for timmy to be forced to share his fairies with chester instead of chloe? now, like, whatever opinion you have of chloe, you gotta admit, you don’t know this chick. not really. but CHESTER, on the other hand! we all know chester! chester is an o.g. fop main character for chrissakes. we know his backstory. his life. his struggles. his devotion to timmy. plus i’m still not completely sure whether or not his memory got totally wiped after fairy idol ended or nah. so we could’ve dug deeper into that, had the plotline of s10 gone in such a direction, instead of the way it ended up going. now i’m not saying this idea would’ve been entirely beneficial for the series in the long run--that is to say, granting the ability to generate as many new episode ideas as the addition of chloe did, i honestly have no idea, i’m just saying it would’ve made more sense logically in the overarching plot of the series. pretending that fop has an overarching plot of course

i mean, before i even thought about this, i did have other ideas for ways to improve the s10 storyline, like, keeping chloe in it, sorta, that i think could have been way more interesting, but maybe i should save that for another time because wow look at this fuckin wall of text that no one gives a shit about its 2:56 am rn and ive slept for about 15 hours total in the past week. this is insomnia at its finest folks. happy birthday poof

ok but stumbling into ofmd not expecting any of this was such an Experience. i saw one (1) person on my dash post a couple memes and a gifset on march 11th (that was the day after eps 4-6 dropped) and all i got from them was that there was a stupid fop trying to be a pirate, and this taika pirate with whom he has a romantic moonlit scene, but of course i was like yeah i'm sure it's queerbait as usual, but i still wanted to see a silly fop on a ship, so i just told myself i wouldn't get my hopes up, and so

when Lucius said he's gay i was like well, there's the gay character, there probably won't be any more apart from a love interest for him

when i saw that fucking moonlit scene with the almost-kiss, i was like yeah they'll pretend that it was never meant to look like going in for a kiss or something, they always do

i was also aware that Rhys and Taika were friends, which for me was another reason why a romance wouldn't happen, cause they probably thought kissing their friend of however many years would be too weird

nevertheless, i was enjoying it, i was hooked, so between eps 1-6 and 7-8 i started going into the tag, and i read all those excerpts from interviews with the creator about romcom beats and stuff but i was still like hmmmm idk... i don't trust like that...

i had seen that the title of ep 7 was This Is Happening, but i didn't expect it to literally refer to their relationship clearly hurtling towards Something! wow, they acknowledged it in the actual show, now it would be a really dick move not to follow through with it, right?

and then ep 8 had more romcom tropes and that silly little foot nudge that drove us all insane

by that time i had already given up trying to pretend like i was totally casual about this ship

but then the show actually started gaining popularity, and i started seeing people ask "ok but are they really gay or is it like those other shows?" and that made me unreasonably stressed because i could say that the show is gay, possibly even gayer than those other shows, but were they canon? well, no, but the chances were looking good... or were they? maybe i was just deluded?

and so on the first watch of ep 9, only a part of my brain was able to actually enjoy the story, cause the other part was like "have we just been clowns honking our noses like people seem to think? ok, we weren't, phew!"

so yeah, what years of queerbaiting does to a mofo etc.

1. why did you choose your url?

It was already my user name on AO3 (and maybe some other sites, can't recall) and I wanted consistency across platforms (since I joined tumblr for fandom). And here's the pretentious part: if you didn't know, it's a reference to Hamlet, which is one of my favorite written works ever. Elsinore is the name of the castle where it takes place, so the prince of Elsinore is Hamlet ^^;

2. any sideblogs? if you have them, name them and why you have them.

I have two, though I'm not gonna name them lol (they're not exactly secret but they're old news). When I first joined I wanted my main to be not totally fandom-dominated (whoops so much for that) so I made a side blog for my main fandom at the time (Hetalia), where I now reblog fanart every once in a blue moon. And I made another side blog for my fic. I still occasionally post on the fic blog but since my main is now basically completely spn anyway, I've just been posting my spn fic on main.

3. how long have you been on tumblr?

Since... 2012, I think? But not consistently. I hadn't used tumblr much in years before last fall and even considered deleting my blog multiple times, but spn ending (and the pandemic) brought me back stronger than ever ^^;

If only I could remember... Well, it was for fandom (mostly--also some history blogging) but I don't remember the specific impetus. As mentioned my main fandom was Hetalia at the time, and within that mostly German bros stuff. I also distinctly remember lurking on a lot of Sherlock blogs prior to joining 😬(my how tastes things change)

6. why did you choose your icon/pfp?

It's a Leyendecker illustration! I love his work so so much (so many dapper men, so much homoeroticism 👌). The piece is Easter-themed and I don't actually know why I chose it. This fop is a far cry from his usual suave dudes, but idk, I guess I liked how ott and fancy it is. It also matched the old flowery aesthetic of my blog before I changed the theme.

7. why did you choose your header?

Lol ok so that's a photo I took (on my first visit maybe?) at Sans Souci palace in Potsdam, Germany. It was the residence of Frederick the Great, King of Prussia, who--as anyone will know if they remember my blog days of yore--is my favorite historical figure! The glove is not mine. I found it like that :)

As I suspected, this one I made defending Jared's "controversial" comments post-finale. Sort of funny because I'm not even a Jared stan 🤷‍♂️

Just passed 550, which I know isn't many relatively speaking but wow I certainly never expected to see the day! I've gained about 300 followers since I started posting about spn, which utterly baffles me, but hey I'm glad if you guys are enjoying yourselves!

Oh, wow, I just looked and it's over 1,000 😳 I guess b/c over the years I've gone on multiple following sprees and only unfollow if people really really annoy me or if I just get really tired of their content (I do continue to follow a lot of people who post about fandoms I'm not in). I feel like I usually see the same <50 blogs on my dash, though, so I'm guessing about 900 of the blogs I follow must be completely inactive lol.

Varies. Over the past months I would check it every hour or more, felt like (not v conducive to getting work done orz). Recently (due to being away from my computer more often, now that the semester and my old job are finished) only a couple times a day, mostly at night.

Hm, not really. Nothing more than a couple snarky or passive-aggressive asks, and not for years (aside from that anon anti hate I got sort of recently--my first ever! I would say I win that one by default, y'know, just for not being the person sending anon hate). I did get into a pretty drawn-out debate with a Dean stan about Dean's death and Jared's comments on it--see above--but I wouldn't classify it as an argument.

Sample Game Script for Ace Attorney Investigations: Klavier Gavin

I’ve been thinking about my post wherein I share some of what I’d like to see in a game titled Ace Attorney Investigations: Klavier Gavin, and I decided to put together some game script based on it.

I put a lot of thought into this, so I hope you enjoy!

(Context: Near the opening of the first case, in which Simon Blackquill assists and serves as the player’s tutorial. Klavier is called into Edgeworth’s office).

KLAVIER GAVIN: You wanted to see me, Herr Edgeworth?

MILES EDGEWORTH: Gavin. Come in. Yes, I have new case for you. A woman was found bound and dead in People Park. Her boyfriend has already been arrested, but I have my doubts. I want you to go to scene to check it out.

KLAVIER GAVIN: Check out the scene?

MILES EDGEWORTH: I know the truth matters to you as much as it does to me. I generally trust our partners at the LAPD, but this one hasn’t sat well with me.

KLAVIER GAVIN: Why’s that? (Ah... he knows me too well. If there’s even a trace of doubt... Can you really trust me, though, Herr Edgeworth? I was once negligent in my investigative duties, and an innocent man paid dearly for it for seven years.)

MILES EDGEWORTH: Rather than explain it, I think you should get a look for yourself. ... Ah, Blackquill. You’re here just in time.

SIMON BLACKQUILL: You called, Edgeworth-dono?

MILES EDGEWORTH: Yes. I would like you to accompany Mr. Gavin to People Park and assist him with investigating a crime scene there.

KLAVIER GAVIN: (Oh. So he doesn’t trust me. He thinks I need another person to keep me accountable. ... Well, perhaps he isn’t wrong).

SIMON BLACKQUILL: ... I suppose I have nothing better to do.

(Context: During the second case, Trucy reports to the LAPD that one of her magic props — something lovingly handmade by a WAA member who is implied to be Apollo — has gone missing. She suspects it was stolen, and she relays such to Klavier when she catches him outside the police station. Turns out, the prop was stolen — and it was used to bludgeon another man to death. Trucy is understandably upset and wants to find the murderer as well as retain her prop).

KLAVIER GAVIN: Ach, rest assured Fraulein Magician, I will help restore your precious prop to you once this is all cleared up. You don’t need to come to the crime scene. It could be rather... grisly, ja?

TRUCY WRIGHT: Oh, don’t worry about that! I used to go to crime scenes all the time.

KLAVIER GAVIN: (Ah, right. She often would assist him during investigations when he was still a rookie defense attorney).

TRUCY WRIGHT: Besides... if I help, maybe you’ll treat me to a new song? A Klavier Gavin solo, not something from the Gavinners!

KLAVIER GAVIN: Well... (I don’t know how to tell her that I haven’t been able to write any music since the Gavinners broke up—but I can’t say no to that smile). All right—you can tag along.

SIMON BLACKQUILL: That’s just a ladder.

TRUCY WRIGHT: Stepladder, Prosecutor Blackquill.

SIMON BLACKQUILL: ... What?

TRUCY WRIGHT: That’s not a ladder, it’s a stepladder! My daddy tells me they’re two different things.

KLAVIER GAVIN: (... That’s a rather odd distinction for Herr Wright to make to his daughter.)

SIMON BLACKQUILL: Gavin-dono!

KLAVIER GAVIN: ... !

SIMON BLACKQUILL: Your input?

KLAVIER GAVIN: Ach. Well, of course I must side with the young fräulein!

SIMON BLACKQUILL: ... Detective Skye is right about you: You are a fop.

KLAVIER GAVIN: You wound me, Herr Blackquill!

KLAVIER GAVIN: I... I don’t think I can keep up with this.

TRUCY WRIGHT: What do you mean?

KLAVIER GAVIN: An envelope contaminated by atroquinine, one of the rarest poisons in the world... Either we have an extraordinary coincidence on our hands, or...

SIMON BLACKQUILL: ... There is a distinct possibility for that.

KLAVIER GAVIN: ... I can’t do this. I’ll tell Herr Edgeworth to take me off the case.

SIMON BLACKQUILL: No.

KLAVIER GAVIN: No?

SIMON BLACKQUILL: You can’t run away from this. You need to face it head on, Gavin-dono.

KLAVIER GAVIN: ...

TRUCY WRIGHT: That’s right! You can do it, Prosecutor Gavin. And Prosecutor Blackquill and I will support you all the way!

KLAVIER GAVIN: Trucy... Simon... (Deep breaths. They’re right. You can’t keep running away from him.) ... All right. It’s time to pay my brother a visit.

KRISTOPH GAVIN: Ah, it’s you, Klavier. I was wondering when you would decide to come see me again. Tell me, what’s the reason for this visit?

SIMON BLACKQUILL: ... Gavin-dono?

TRUCY WRIGHT: We have some questions for you!

KRISTOPH GAVIN: I recognize you. You’re Wright’s daughter. My, you’ve grown quite a bit since I last saw you.

KLAVIER GAVIN: Don’t talk to her.

KRISTOPH GAVIN: You’re the one who brought her here.

SIMON BLACKQUILL: Never mind that. We’re here because of a murder. A man’s been poisoned by atroquinine.

KRISTOPH GAVIN: Ah? And you suspect me, Klavier? There’s no loud defense attorney for you hide behind this time.

KLAVIER GAVIN: ...

KRISTOPH GAVIN: Tsk, tsk. Why so quiet? ... Well, I have nothing to hide. Investigate away, if you must.

(Context: After investigating Kristoph’s cell and unsuccessfully pressing him for details that could connect him to the murder).

KLAVIER GAVIN: (Is there really nothing?! Or am I missing something important? What could I be missing?! My hands are starting to get clammy!)

KRISTOPH GAVIN: Are you finished now? Are you satisfied?

KLAVIER GAVIN: ...

TRUCY WRIGHT: Prosecutor Gavin! Don’t lose heart. Just remember what’s important to you!

KLAVIER GAVIN: ... ! (Those words... Those were the same words that defense attorney said to me when we faced off at the lowest point of my life. With those words, he pulled the darkness of self-doubt out of me and gave me the strength to pursue the truth then. I’ll forever be grateful to him for that... Right. I have not forgotten what’s important to me!) Kristoph.

KRISTOPH GAVIN: ... ?

KLAVIER GAVIN: Tell me true: Did you kill this man?

KRISTOPH GAVIN: Does it matter? It seems you’ve already made up your mind, dear brother. I’m an easy target. Just pin the blame on me, and reap the rewards for yourself. That’s what you want, isn’t it?

KLAVIER GAVIN: It does matter. I don’t seek victories. I seek the truth. If I falsely pin the blame on an innocent man, he will suffer the consequences while the real criminal gets away, free to bring harm to others. You have your own sins to pay for, Kristoph. But I will not add to them if they are not the truth.

KRISTOPH GAVIN: ... I did not kill him.

KLAVIER GAVIN: ... (I have no reason to believe him. And yet, I do. Okay. If it’s not him, then it’s someone else. We have to keep moving forward.) ... Then we are done here, for now.

KRISTOPH GAVIN: “For now”? Ah, of course. You can always fall back on me if your little investigation fails.

KLAVIER GAVIN: ... Goodbye, Kristoph.

PHOENIX WRIGHT: Prosecutor Gavin.

KLAVIER GAVIN: ... ! Herr Wright? ... To what do I owe the pleasure?

PHOENIX WRIGHT: Edgeworth told me about the case—and about Kristoph being a suspect.

KLAVIER GAVIN: Ah—that’s— (What am I supposed to say? Why is he even speaking with me?) —Well, he wasn’t the one responsible.

PHOENIX WRIGHT: No, he wasn’t. Not this time, anyway. Still...

KLAVIER GAVIN: ... ?

PHOENIX WRIGHT: Edgeworth was right. It took a lot of guts for you to do what you did. You’re a great prosecutor—and a good man.

KLAVIER GAVIN: ... ! W-Well, I don’t think I would have gotten anywhere without your daughter or Herr Blackquill’s help.

PHOENIX WRIGHT: Ha, you sell yourself short. ... Hey. I wanted to tell you something: What happened to me nine years ago, I don’t hold it against you.

KLAVIER GAVIN: You—You don’t?

PHOENIX WRIGHT: No. You were young; you were manipulated by someone you trusted. I know what that’s like. ... I forgave you for it a long time ago. I hope you can forgive yourself, too.

KLAVIER GAVIN: ...

PHOENIX WRIGHT: Prosecutor Gavin?

KLAVIER GAVIN: N-Nothing. Thank you, Herr Wright.

KLAVIER GAVIN: (I went home with a song in my heart. I don’t know what possessed Herr Wright to say all that to me—maybe Herr Edgeworth put him up to it—but I’m grateful. I’m also grateful to Trucy and Simon... and to that other defense attorney for that matter. I wouldn’t have made it through this without them. ... I’m feeling inspired. Maybe I should pick up my guitar and write this down).

Hi, another update. Mentioned a while ago that my laptop was no longer functional- I’m still working towards replacing that with something new. Also got a new desktop computer (Replaced a device I’ve had for nearly a decade + transferred lots of files over). Going through lots of changes (Job switch, sibling got married, got a new office, also some other things I don’t want to go into detail about on Tumblr).

No longer have access to my old art program, but I planned ahead for that and bought a new program while it was on sale, so I’ll be experimenting with that in the upcoming weeks. Expect Happy Peppy Gary art. Might be some 130 Prompt spoilers in it but at this point I frankly don’t care, I’ve been actively planning and drafting the 130 since 2016 and I’m anxious to draw for some of the major plot stuff skljdf. My hyperfixation for the last several months has been War & Peace / Great Comet of 1812 and :’) “Pierre & Andrey” is a very good song for a lot of my OCs but also for Gary and the Pixies, I swear...

Don’t really have the emotional strength to talk to anybody, but I’ve been reviewing my ‘fics. I really want to put the next Reedfilter Rules chapter out- been sitting on that one for a very long time. Writing RR!Anti-Cosmo is extremely difficult but... wow, I often love him more than Riddleverse Classic Anti-Cosmo SKLDFJSKLDJF. In Classic he’s often bound by social status and tradition while RR!Anti-Cosmo straight-up does what he wants and it’s fantastic. I know I’ve been picking at the revisions for his chapter for ages, but he has to be perfect when he goes public because he's very different from Classic!Anti-Cosmo and I want everything to be /chef’s kiss for me.

If you’re new here and/or not up to date with Reedfilter canon, I encourage you to check the Reedfilter Rules tag on my blog and maybe learn some interesting things you didn’t know yet :> RR is an AU of my Classic take on canon, but it remains consistent with show canon and it’s full of dumb cliches and dumb flirting and political idiots and it’s just silly and fun for me.

Should be some Frayed Knots and Origin on the horizon as well, so thank you for your patience. I am extremely anxious to move both stories along and there’s not much left to do before I post, but I’m finicky and want to ensure my buffer is stable before I return to a consistent schedule. Fingers maybe crossed for going back to our one chapter a week schedule, but not promising that yet. We’re entering my favorite part of Origin, but it coincides with the most difficult part of Knots, so it’s a struggle.

Emphasizing again that I basically have not been keeping up with reviews, Tumblr notifs, or FFN / AO3 commentary for a very long time. I thank you for sending them and apologize if you were waiting for a response you didn’t receive. Life is kind of stressful and people always need me for something, so at the end of the day I don’t always want to build up the emotional strength to search my inbox and read comments for my different stories/fandoms that might not always be nice, and even if they are nice then I don’t always have the ability to reply. Sometimes it’s easier to look at nothing and sometimes those avoidance periods need to last a long time. I appreciate any kind words that have been sent my way.

I’ve been extremely busy and still have not watched the FOP live action spin-off thing. I’ve kept my distance from fandom content and successfully avoided spoilers all this time, but I’m planning to watch it very soon now that life is starting to come back under control. I watched the first episode and enjoyed it, but blocking out enough time to binge on free trial isn’t easy and suddenly most of the year goes by... Exhaustion.

Vainly hoped I’d return to Tumblr someday and find that the divider line and/or abilities to create white space dividers with the enter key had returned to the post editor and wow I cannot express enough how disappointed I am that they have done exactly not that.

Sorry for Ask box stuff I haven’t touched in one million years; just didn’t have FOP brainpower for a long time and needed to do other things. There are some heavy topics like war, abuse, politics, discrimination, death, and affairs in my ‘fics and sometimes you need space from that type of content even when you’re the one who put it there.

If anyone knows whether Tumblr still refuses to show posts that contain links, I’d be interested in knowing more about the current situation.
