I once saw someone point out how it wouldn't make much sense for Link and Zelda to become a couple in most games (barring Skyward I think) because that would make Link the king (prince?) of Hyrule, which he never is in canon - the king (and/or Zelda's father) always someone different.

And it's a neat observation that does make objective sense! ...but I'd also be lying if I said it didn't give me a little reassurance regarding my selfship fjshfjdhf

#even when I take off the Selfshipping Hat™#I can easily see the romance between botw/totk zelda and link being one-sided #and i think it can largely be attributed to the fact that zelda in those games is just...not written well imo??#like she had SO much potential as a character and would make for such an interesting iteration of zelda #age of calamity wrote her so much better honestly and even that game is considered non-canon #it makes just as much sense to me to see them as REALLY good friends #i think the moments between them could be just as interesting and powerful as if they were viewed romantically #...this is turning into a whole different discussion gkshdfjshf #uhhh bottom line I love Link regardless of canon BYE SFJSHGJD #Link
