also (if im right) its going to be Extremely funny when lee finds out that diegesis's ban is impatience. the implications of it all...
#similarly thinking about how rakove says that diegesis's storytelling is an act of love and. yeah. man#he's not just the platonic ideal of storytelling. he's the embodiment of the LOVE of storytelling!!! he has so much love to give!!!#it just explains a Lot about why specific criticisms i.e. ''get on with it'' or being ''melodramatic'' affect him particularly bc#they're flat dismissals of the medium of storytelling/whatever story he's trying to tell. its a refusal to engage with the narrative#even when lee rejects diegesis it's always about his degree of agency within the narrative rather than rejecting the whole thing outright#because lee is (somewhat) patient. because he understands. because he loves a good story!
