Phineas has such a dense personality that throughout the series it is shown in different ways how much he cares about Isabella and yet it took him 10 years to realize that she liked him.

Boy, you used to hold her hand for every little thing, your excitement would skyrocket when she'd come up to you asking, "What are you doing?"

Although it was Isabella who once said that Phineas was her reason for living, i think it's the other way around. Isabella is Phineas's reason for living and that's so easy to prove, when he sees her in danger He loses his temper and doesn't think clearly for fear of losing her.

There's just so many ppl I saw going the wrong way in both directions.

You are allowed to hate someone who hurt you.

You are allowed to never want to talk to or see them again.

That is your right. You have a RIGHT to be angry and upset.

Don't listen to ANYONE who says you HAVE to forgive someone who hurt you. Never feel guilty about protecting your peace. They hurt you and it WASN'T fair. It sucks. You didn't deserve that. No one does.

They do not get to try to waltz back into your life and re-open that wound and bring up that trauma whenever they want.

When it is said that forgiveness isn't deserved, it's earned, that's true as fuck. Nobody fucking deserves your forgiveness. You get to decide if they've earned it or not.

And they have to deal with it!!!!

But this is about how people who've hurt people CANNOT and SHOULD not constantly be like "Oh, I'm such a bad fucking person and I'm never going to be able to change. I hurt all those people and I'll never become better. " And "Oh, poor me I'm the absolute worst." FOR THE REST OF TIME if they TRULY want to fucking change. If you want to get better, you have to forgive yourself. And that goes for ANY scenario of guilt. You're never gonna completely get rid of guilt. And honestly, that's not the fucking point. The point is you can't live in it. You can't wallow in it. You can't let guilt consume you because then you're dooming yourself to repeat your mistakes. Dooming yourself to HURT. PEOPLE. Then you're just gonna feel worse when you do it again! Because you never actually decided to change! Because you think "what's the point? I'll just do it again" YEAH, DUMBASS. YOU PROBABLY ARE.

You have to forgive yourself for doing those awful fucking things when you were younger, and make the active effort every single fucking day to become better.

YOU HAVE TO FORGIVE YOURSELF.

Because those people you hurt probably won't. And if you can't forgive yourself, how can anyone else?

Forgiving yourself doesn't mean absolving yourself of crime or fault.

It doesn't mean that they're wrong for not forgiving you.

That's the opposite direction. It's acknowledging what you did was shitty but knowing that's not who you wanna be anymore and that you're going to try your hardest to never hurt someone again. And that it's fine if those people don't forgive you because they don't have to.

On your path of learning you might fuck hurt someone again. Honestly, you probably will. But you can't revert. You can't wallow in pity, shame, and guilt. Because that's helping no one and that is honestly putting your victims in a situation where they feel OBLIGATED to forgive you and have to do more emotional work than they should have to because of you!

You have to keep fucking growing.

Genuinely, what happened to “feminism is for everyone”?

That’s the feminism I grew up with: encouraging people to recognize that fighting sexism and restrictive gender roles helps folks of every gender. We’d push back on the idea that feminists hate men, pointing to inclusive feminist literature and how many men are feminists.

Now, there are so many people insisting that the solution to patriarchy is to openly hate and ostracize men no matter what. Why? What is the benefit? It’s certainly not effective in fighting oppressive structures to exclude half the population from your cause on the basis of immutable traits. It may feel cathartic to say horrible things about men and try to punish them for your frustrations with patriarchy. But the only actual effect I see is the increasing right-wing radicalization of young men, who are being told that the left hates them for the way they were born and presented with an abundance of proof that it’s true.

Why are we going back to treating men and women as different species? It doesn’t fix things to say “well women are the good gender and men are the bad one” this time. If you sincerely want to dismantle sexism, you’re going to have to unpack and let go of all sex and gender essentialism—even that which considers women inherently pure and men inherently immoral.

The ability to evacuate is a privilege and I’m sick of people applying Florida logic to the Appalachians right now. Yes it is horrible for those who couldn’t in Florida but the people in the Appalachian’s had no warning. People still have “dial up” there, 55.9% of the population is under the poverty line. “I’ve been seeing warnings for a week” no you haven’t the warnings were for Florida and Georgia, even then it wasn’t supposed to hit the apps like this at most flooding but they would recover. When hurricane helene took that turn it was too late to even warn others before dams broke. The infrastructure is not meant to take this beating especially given the storm they had the week before causing all of the waterways to be full already. Towns are wiped out, towns that relied on tourism and coal mining to bring in revenue are gone. My great aunt and uncle lived in a trailer off a plot of land and were so happy they finally got a clean running water system hooked up two years ago. They have one tiny little old android that they have to travel about an hour in town to use so they can call us up. They lived off a fixed income because any sort of job was two hours away at least and they’re getting older they can’t just travel that much anymore. My great uncle can’t walk without his cane and my great aunt is getting there too. They always joked about taking me home with them and I would always say when I got older they would come live with me because I knew how rough it was for them but they couldn’t just leave. I haven’t been able to contact them in over 48 hours and the highways leading out after the one hour evacuation notice was given was shut down. Most places are air rescues only because there is no other way for them to be rescued. To add on as well that they deployed FEMA in many of the places affected but yet there is barely any coverage and radio silence from our government. No national guards are here to rescue them they are left to fend for themselves. People are drowning, being electrocuted, some didn’t even stand a chance. These are human beings who have been prayed on for generations the least you can do is show some fucking sympathy. I don’t care what you have to say family’s are being devastated. I wouldn’t wish anything like this to happen to anyone so if you find yourself in your bed at night I hope you know that out there, there are families who are grieving all they have lost and you are cozy at home with running water, electricity and a warm bed and you feel an ounce of guilt for even thinking that.
