I can understand this but most fanfics are after the separation arc when Reigen has developed and grown as a person; especially during the arc, he becomes far too reliant on Mob to the point of selfishness. He CAN be rude, he CAN be too self-serving but as Mob literally says: "he's a genuinely good guy." So he isn't entirely these actions and it's unfair to limit him to this when the whole point of the show is striving to be a better person.
He isn't written to be an entirely rude and terrible guy. Just someone who loses sight of things when he gets too comfortable at someone else's expense.
also if you think fanfics aren't portraying him accurately, write your own! We could always use more variety <3 /pos

guuuyyyyssss... left the hospital this AM and someone dumped a kitten!!! well she said it was under her car but poor little dude had his eyes sealed shut but after a warm compress he can see again! his name is house and a vet is gonna see him today... rip wallet :') but hopefully can get him on a rescue transport soon!
