closed starter for daegon drumm on day two, @wylldfyres.
at least with the influx of visitors, cerenna could use the crowds to her advantage. she had been thinking about a myriad of concerns and needed to unwind away from her home. the lady sat surrounded by others in a tavern she'd never bothered to visit before, only one true intention on her mind. holding up coin for the barkeep, she's given a small bottle of wine off the shelf. without hesitation or a second thought, renna tilts the bottle upwards and holds as such. a moment later she lets out a short gasp, followed by a hiccup, as the bottle lands back on the wood surface. cerenna looks up to spot someone looking her way just in time. " oh, shut up, " she hisses, shaking her head at the man. " because i fully plan to finish this. "

a deep breath is taken as cerenna does her best to listen, even if it has hardly ever been a strength of her's. though it takes a moment for the irritation to subside, anger still lingering, she inevitably nods in agreement with what the tully says. they are both in a predicament without a choice in the matter and it would be difficult to continue with animosity towards each other when it seemed unnecessary. their fury would be better suited to those who forced them into the match. " maybe so... and perhaps. i am sure we will learn much about each other before this is over, " which was not a bad thing, not exactly, but a concern if they could not work together. " and risk angering the queen ? i will ask them but i will not throw them to the lion queen herself. " she liked to think herself in joanna's good graces at present but that could change at any moment. even though the queen was her aunt, cerenna did not want to test her boundaries with family. " so amicable is what you seek ? you could have fooled me a moment ago... but good, we are on the same page. "
perhaps they shouldn't have gone into the interaction with the expectation to offer grace , and instead , embarrassed the lannister . “ then maybe we are both defensive as neither of us want this , as well as us not knowing each other . it would've been better to have formed a relationship on our own terms . perhaps after this we may be able to . ” they had learned to be unwavering in being cordial long ago and sitting in the face of another lion wouldn't change that . “ your parents wouldn't find you a solution if you asked them ? ” interesting that it seemed the queen had more of a sway than cerenna's own mothers , though sia couldn't say they were that surprised . “ i haven't acted as if anything , least of all that i can't stand you . if i had we wouldn't be having a conversation nor would i have attempted to find ourselves in something to be amicable , but very well . then it will be the second . ”

with cerenna lannister / @dicmcnds where: the great hall when: after his conversations with nymeria and tommen.
it took all his strength not to cower like a kicked dog under the weight of sharp eyes following him as he moved through the room. he had rebuilt himself before; he could do it once more - or so he hoped. his sister’s and also his friend’s words rang in his ear, giving him a temporary rush of confidence that allowed him to approach the lady, one he viewed as a possible ally given his friendship with her brother. hopefully he wasn’t mistaken for he doubted he could handle another public embarrassment. ❝ lady cerenna. ❞ he bowed. ❝ if your dance card is not already full, would you do me the honor of joining me for this dance? ❞

who: @dicmcnds ( cerenna lannister )
where: new valyria
the news of exploit of the arryns was astounding to the youngest lannister. over the amount of historical books that she read, she knew of the many attempts on the targaryen dynasty. however, it made her wonder if her pride would be next. the thought of something to her family caused her heart to swell at the thought of losing the ones nearest to her. lapses in judgement seemed to dwindle as she rubbed her eyes, lelia had spent another night of uninterrupted reading throught the many hours of night. she stifled a yawn once again, looking up as she felt somebody approaching her. “sister, what has awoken you this early?”, she asked her elder sister.

" what was he like, aunt joanna ? " she asks innocently, though cerenna grew up hearing stories about the man who had supposedly wanted more for them. perhaps all they need to do is revive his goals and aspiration, even after his death. " i don't remember grandfather very much... perhaps we would be honoring him, in a way, by getting a better master in arms. " with no intention of ever using weaponry, she would still like to watch her family and those who train in casterly rock develop good skill. she hopes nothing too messy ever becomes her responsibility, as cerenna dreams of riding the back of the lannister name and getting farther with her appearance than any skill she could excel with. all she wishes is to marry rich and never decrease her social status. what could love earn her that money and power could not ? " that's a wonderful idea, your grace, i would love to spend some time in the red keep. " though she would be happy to stay in casterly rock, as the capital has a certain smell, she would never pass up the opportunity to stay by the queen's side. " drystan will do well and if anyone dares to mess with his pretty face... well, i can't imagine they'll have a very good rest of the week. " cerenna returns with a smile, purple eyes darting toward the field.
words draw unbridled enjoyment from the queen, who was ever fond of malicious jests rather than any sort of gentle wit (exception would always be those to come from her syrena, if only because joanna is nothing if not biased); laughter mellows into a smile and she settles herself better into her makeshift throne. "we ought to hire a better master in arms for casterly rock. i remember father only wanted the best for us, but that old fucker is long dead. most pitiful," perhaps if that miserable, merciless man that taught the lannister how to defend themselves had lived longer, her brother wouldn't have turned out so soft (not that she can say much about it, in truth, when she skipped on lessons and barely remembers them, but hypocrisy is something that becomes this queen of westeros). a hand comes to brush away a strand of raven hair from her niece's shoulder, a hum of content from the back of her throat a brief response. "that would be a delight. you know i care to keep all my cubs alongside me, darling. some time in the red keep would do you good, too. the rock is a wonderful place, but there is only so much light on it for you to properly shine." at least that is how she had always felt, pestering her father until he had found a position for her in the targaryen court, so many decades ago. "lorent, sure. he's red blooded and just out of his breeches, so he wants to prove himself. but drystan… he's too pretty to take part of the melee." she sighs in distaste, pulling her gaze away from her niece only to look upon the athletics field. "ah, they shall begin soon."

closed starter for drystan baratheon on day three, @gcldenblades.
" are you having fun, drystan ? " she questions in greeting, offering a small smile. cerenna adores her cousins and genuinely wants them to enjoy themselves in casterly rock. " remind me to show you the hall of heroes if you have not already been... i predict that will be a favorite, " though not ever given much thought, cerenna figured she couldn't stay in casterly rock forever - even if residing there presently and forever more was quite the temptation. she did want to marry and rule over a house, but renna would be damned if that was riverrun. " are you competing in any of the events ? "

closed starter for argella baratheon on evening of day 2, @dvnastics.
there is no love reserved for house baratheon or the extensions in which they marry into, though cerenna knows now is not the time to hiss and claw at those she dislikes. she has been humbled, in a sense, with her betrothal and the anger that threatens to lash out is kept at bay for the time being. for now, she will be a dutiful lady of house lannister and be cordial to those within their home... if only she could pick and choose like the king. the biggest test comes when she spots argella, always a tinge of envy combined with uncertainty at the eldest princess. " good evening, princess argella, " she offers in greeting yet refuses to stand from her seat. " how fortunate we are to be hosting the royal household within the rock. " cerenna grins with sincerity yet her voice drips with sarcasm.

closed starter for joanna lannister in-between events, @cordoleo.
there is something quite terrifying about getting what you wish for when it is twisted and changed from the original vision. cerenna had thought that her eventual betrothal would be of her choosing, that her betrothed would be either in love or obsessed with her... but aysia was quite the opposite of that. as frustrating and embarrassing as it is to not be desired, she could hardly blame the liege tully when renna suspected they were in a similar situation of a lack of choice. the person she blames is her aunt and though she knows it would be unwise to outright deny the betrothal, cerenna would rather run home to her mothers than entertain the idea of a hopeless marriage. had their month together only made her company undesirable ? she takes a deep breath before she enters the room and curtsies before her aunt. " your grace, i hope the rock is as you remember. i have missed it these past few weeks... "

closed starter for cassia upcliff on day one, @milkhoncys.
perhaps it is the feeling of having strangers lurking within one's home that puts her on edge, perhaps it is news of her betrothal - or perhaps she finds it silly to be seeking treasure during celebrations in which she should be congratulating her mother, not the entirety of westeros on their keen observation skills. regardless of reasoning, she holds the clue tightly in her hand with irritation, not caring about what impression is to be had on lady cassia. knowing casterly rock and lannisport like the back of her hand will only be an advantage to winning... and there is certainly some fun in success. " no doubt it is talking about the gardens, " cerenna says, not knowing any other green sanctuary. " i know where it is referring to, but would you like to figure it out, my lady ? "

closed starter for willem lannister, @milkhoncys.
cerenna thanks the gods everyday that their house of casterly rock is lacking of masculinity. however, if she were to have a brother, she figures willem would be well enough - they already share the lannister name. she wastes no time in catching up to willem's pace, hand snaking around his bicep. " my lord, i saw you shall be participating in the joust... who's favor will you have ? " a simple curiosity with the intent of gossiping behind the corner.

closed starter for isao serrett, @thcrnedhearts.
she exits the large lannister tent and begins pacing through the rows of westerlands houses without much on her mind. purple eyes dart back and forth, in search of something to sink her teeth into without much consequence - and that's when she spots lord serrett. " afternoon, my lord, " cerenna curtsies and peers up at him through long lashes, the approval of others much more needed than she knows. " i heard you were competing in the melee and the joust and wished to grant you luck aloud, though i doubt you shall need it. "

the plays are her least favorite part of the activities, finding herself bored with the performances and thinking how foolish one would be to believe any shred of acting ... but then a thunderous roar of applause startles her back to the present. cerenna claps along with the others and returns a smile toward the princess. " incredibly lovely, " she echoes, not daring to spoil the fun for her favorite cousin. " are you enjoying the acts ? i find them... tame to the other events, but enjoyable nonetheless. " the lady lannister gives another grin with no intent to be the rain cloud to syrena's sunshine.
open starter ; fourth day , plays - accepting replies .
emerald gaze watches players intently , her focus mainly on the bard who sang ' jenny of oldstones ' --- a song that the young faun's heart always enjoyed hearing . how sweet the story . she leaned forward just slightly as song reached it's end , clapping furiously as singer and dancers to bow before starting something new . " brava ! " princess said with a smile to outshine the sun . " wasn't his voice just lovely ? " she asked her company , eyes so bright and wide - innocent .

closed starter for jocelyn lannister, @xlannisterlionessx.
she sits in silence, alone, a brush combing through her hair as candles burn around her in the lannister tent. cerenna has always needed moments to herself and with the massive influx of guests, the crowds have her stomach in knots - not of anxiety, but irritation. she nearly snaps at whichever sibling has disturbed her peace but when her gaze sets upon jocelyn, her features soften. if not for her own exhaustion, she would rise and hug the woman. " evening, mother, " she greets with a smile. " i had to retire early so i could stand a chance to hear my own thoughts... are you well ? "

with cerenna lannister / @dicmcnds where: the garden mazes.
her arm was linked with her dear cousin’s as they walked through the maze, on the hunt like the lionesses they were, but their prey took the form of promised prizes that alicent hoped shan’t disappoint. the king had promised that no expense has been spared; it would be quite embarrassing if the prizes hidden about the gardens are nothing special. perhaps they might find some jewels. or even trinkets from essos - that is where their queen-to-be unfortunately hailed from. however, there was another interest that wouldn’t quiet within her mind. ❝ while i’m excited to find the hidden treasures, i must admit i had an ulterior motive for asking you to accompany me. ❞ the mask she normally wore slipped. a devious glint entered dark eyes. ❝ it’s been far too long since we last talked. you must tell me all the gossip you’ve heard in that time! ❞

it takes everything in her not to scoff at the misinterpreted offense, yet shakes her head instead. " i meant nothing of what you assumed, my lady, though you presume to already know me so well. " cerenna struggles to remain neutral with the slight insult, having genuinely meant no ill will with her words but to find common ground. as if it would be the cruelest thing in the realm to be married to herself. her hands lift as if an attempt of peace and wanting to assure them they are both in agreement on not wanting the betrothal - had cerenna wanted it at all, by now, she would surely have laughed at the thought. the last thing she needed to do was beg for an unwanted marriage. " my aunt would be more receptive to me voicing my thoughts than anyone else if we are to see a way out of this, " because she sees no other option in their predicament. cerenna can't help but raise a brow at what is proposed. " you act as if you can barely stand me now... so i do not see how that would be believable to anyone, which leaves us making everyone look like fools. "
“ i will match how you speak to me . if you wish for different , then you do the same . ” brow raised at cerenna , as if sia would let the other's tone go unchecked while in private company . in front of others they may have held their tongue , but if they were to have the same goal , they both would need to mind their tempers . “ i have informed my father of my disagreeance in his decision . have you informed your aunt ? i should hope not . ” it's a genuine comment as rumors about the queen swirled through the lands and sia somehow doubted that family wouldn't be on the receiving end too . not from what her own brother had told them . “ this is what i propose , then . we could pretend as if we are happy with this betrothal and play the part , or , we will both make it look as though we are so mismatched for them to have tried to put us together it'll make them look the fools . ”

there is a certain safety tied to the lannister name that cerenna has leaned into plenty throughout her life. her sharp tongue and words that threaten to bite would earn discipline in other circumstances but who would ever dare to invoke the wrath of a lannister when the other lions will follow ? not someone as intelligent as argella, though they will surely walk circles around each other. a game of taunting one another - that is enough at that given moment to keep cerenna engaged. " you would be surprised to know how often in your presence i tend to hold my tongue. " which is true, yet not for the harsh reality that they could bond over certain aspects if she were to say everything on her mind. a slight huff is given to mimic laughter though lips stay pursed into a grin. not for long, though, as the princess' words ring true and hit hard. there is also another truth that dawns on her - that her future children may share a similar fate if she ends up in the power she craves. would her mothers be disappointed ? everyone made their own choices in the end. " yes, unfortunately... a risk someone took that will not pay off and i am to be punished. i suppose it could be worse, i could have been betrothed to a vassal house. how is house lefford these days ? " a quick sigh is given but she smirks regardless.
it was always a bit of a risk for a lannister ( or one affiliated with them ) to speak to argella with such piqued candour . yet , as affronted as argella could become cerenna had the luxury of being the queen's niece and no matter how much argella fought against it , joanna did outrank her , thus a safe harbour from the tempest was offered to the lannister woman . ❛ you mean to tell me that all this time you have been nice during our conversations ? ❜ whether or not argella had intended the humour that laced her words would remain a mystery , but she offered a huff of laughter all the same . ❛ i should hate to see you at your worst . ❜ the chalice was brought to her lips once more , golden arbour sweetening lips as she mused over cerenna's words . ❛ such is the nature of our status , i am afraid & one day our children shall loathe that about us too . ❜ the thought of change hadn't crossed her mind . whilst argella had been devastated over the news of her own betrothal ( oh how she had shouted , begged and cried ) she was always going to follow through with the decision . the alternative would have been a loss of everything and argella was far too stubborn to allow something like marriage to stand in the way of her ambitions . ❛ i take from your blatant displeasure that someone is forcing you into something ? ❜
