Macaque, what do you think about needing Iron Fan's permission to date Blue? What's up with DBK?

HAD THIS LMK AU/FIC PROMPT IDEA IN MY HEAD ALL DAY.
Macaque finds and artifact and like in the JCA episode Demon world with the book of ages rewrites time. MK is unaffected and transported to this world one where SWK never went on the journey to the west, never got trapped under the mountain.
In this world demons are way more in power and terrorising people, it’s pretty bad.
MK is freaking out when he runs into Red Son (Who is far more similar to himself as Red Boy much more powerful and also never had father stuck under the mountain) the two fight and this version Red Son just falls head over heels for MK. MK is very confused when midbattle this version of Red Son is on one knee starting up with heart eyes asking him to marry him... he’s flustered and confused especially with his crush and how different this version of Red is.
MK is so flustered because this version of Red Son keeps talking about how his eyes are like solar flares and he’s the most handsome person he’s ever seen and MK is having a very hard time focusing on making a plan when his brain keeps being turned into mush by his crush waxing poetic at him.
Red Son manages to catch him and ends up in the demon bull court and MK is freaking the fuck out trying to figure out how to fix things while everyone else is apparently planning his and Red’s wedding?!
PIF see’s this mortal (or at least somewhat mortal) she can sense SWK’s power and is suddenly very offended the other never told them he had a son, how rude they could have an arranged marriage for their sons years ago now city’s going to be so rushed.
SWK is very confused about the letter he gets from PIF and DBK and of course shows up at the court... with his husband Macaque who is sooooo pissed and worried (This world is perfect Sun never got turned soft by that stupid journey he can’t lose this)
MK is left dealing with this version of his dad/mentor who is really different but also not in some ways... it’s a lot... made worse by having Macaque RIGHT THERE knowing he also remembers things and that this is his fault...
Family dinners he’s forced to sit through are so awkward.
Macaque deciding to use manipulate to make sure MK won’t try to ruin this by pointing out How much happier SWK is here, how much happier red is here and do you really think your version of him will ever smile at you like that your enemies kid...
In the end MK does get back Red helping him because he wants MK to be happy and fix this.
When they get back turns out through SWK being near the artefact he remembers the other world...Macaque disappears instantly and SWK is stuck with very conflicted feelings.
MK on the other hand is happy to be back but also...misses having Red be happy to see him... or at least until one fight
RS:You are so annoying noodle boy!
MK *Jokingly*Yeah but my eyes are like solar flares right?
RS:I how did you...HAVE YOU READ MY DIARY???
  MK:..what?
  RS:...
  Bonus
SWK:MACAQUE GET BACK HERE WE HAVE TO TALK ABOUT THIS
M: NO GO AWAY I HATE YOU
SWK:...YOU REWROTE FUCKING REALITY SO THAT WE WOULD BE TOGETHER!
  M:...
  M:THAT PROVES NOTHING!!

Red Son- Monkie Kid Soulmate au
More Monkie Kid soulmate au!
This time: Red Son!
Tumblr media
Red has five soul marks: the stylized monkey on his palm (MK), the green dragon on his wrist (Mei), a purple bull head on his left shoulderblade (DBK), an iron fan on his right shoulder blade (two guesses as to who that is), and finally, a skull with glowing blue eyes on his spine (Sans the White Bone Spirit).
The scar on his wrist is from his time as Guan Yin’s disciple. The bracelets were pretty tight and were on for a pretty long time (about 50 years in this au), so they ended up causing some scarring.
Once Red gets the marks on his palm/wrist, he starts wearing fingerless gloves. He despises the mark on his palm, believing that anyone who’s soul is represented by Sun Wukong is his enemy. He’s very insecure about his soul marks, and refuses to let anyone see them (he doesn’t even let Iron Fan see them).
It’s only after he switches sides that Red Son starts letting others see the soul marks on his hand and wrist, and even then that’s limited to MK and Mei. Still, Red has some days where he hides his palms and wrists, because he can’t bear to be reminded of his parent’s betrayal.
The only mark that Red Son always feels right about is the skull on his back: he knows the Baigujing is his enemy, and he’s perfectly fine with that.
Red ends up dating MK, and has a platonic relationship with Mei. The three end up becoming very close with each other, and would 100% die for each other without hesitation. Mei and MK both become very good at bringing Red out of a panic attack, and while MK might not understand any of Red’s technical jargon, he is still willing to listen to the fiery demon go on for hours about his latest invention.
Red and Mei have a sort of rivalry going: the two are very competitive when it comes to racing, and they will try to out do each other with how cool they can make their vehicle. MK knows better than to intervene, and has relegated himself to the sidelines as a cheerleader. Outside of that, Red and Mei are incredibly close, and have bonded over their less than stellar relationship with their parents, as well as the crippling expectations they hold themselves to. They will often talk about blueprints to each other, and have been known to spend hours pouring over them together.
Once Red joins the gang, he becomes... fiercely protective of Mei and MK. Now that he’s actually gotten to experience a positive relationship, he refuses to allow anyone to take it from him, and is TERRIFIED of the idea that his parents may go after MK and Mei to get back at him. Whenever the three go out together, Red Son is there’re with a 1000 yard state that deters almost any demon. (Spider Queen makes one attempt to kidnap MK again. She vanishes a day later, lair burned to a crisp. Demons of all shades avoid MK after that.)
After a while, word gets out that Red Son is courting the Monkey King’s successor. This leads to several instances of other demons attempting to court MK as well, in a desperate bid for power, and to get into Wukong’s good graces. MK is completely oblivious, and Mei and Red both agree to obliterate anyone who tries to take advantage of MK.
Red begins courting MK about two months after the switch, but most of his efforts either go unnoticed or end up being misinterpreted. Mei ends up joining forces with Jin and Yin in an attempt to get these two idiots together, but these effort usually end up making things more complicated.
Red ends up full on confessing to MK after a really bad fight against Macaque. MK ends up badly injured with a stab to the gut, and in a moment of desperation and terror, Red Son yells that MK can’t leave yet, because Red still hasn’t had the chance to tell him that he loves him. MK, with quiet tears in his eyes, tells Red Son that he knows, that he loves Red back, and that he has for a while now but could never work up the courage to say it.
Mk ends up in the hospital for a bit, but he survives, and once he wakes up Red asks if they’re a thing, to which MK, of course, says yes. After that, Red stops wearing the finger-less gloves entirely.
Some miscellaneous things:
Red Son is Bi here.
His relationship with Mei is queerplatonic: Mei is ace in this au.
Red and Pigsy... don’t get along. At all. The only time they ever work even remotely well together is when they are protecting Mk and Mei, and even then they still butt heads.
Red Son ends up getting possessed by the White Bone Spirit for a short time before he joins the gang, as Iron Fan decided that it was the best way to keep control of him.
DBK and Iron Fan are much quicker to turn on Red in this au: They sent him on the weather station mission in an attempt to get rid of him. They are also much more overtly abusive here: think Ozai’s treatment of Zuko in ATLA.
Red Son is an insomniac, and will often stay up all night with Mei.
Red and Sandy end up forming an unlikely bond: Sandy and Red have a tradition where they will spend two hours every Thursday meditating together. Sandy ends up giving Red a therapy cat named Jinhu.
Wukong is very suspicious of Red Son at first, and spent about three months constantly monitoring him before he realized that the fire demon was head over heels for Mk. After that, he begins to watch Mei and the Gold and Silver bros try to get them together. He finds this absolutely hilarious.
Red Son has sleep paralysis. This has led to more than one occasion where Mei walks in to find Red Son staring in awe at her because, when he is stuck in sleep paralysis, he sees Mei as a huge ass green dragon. This also applies to Mk, who shows up like this .
After he gets more comfortable with showing his soulmarks, Red gets into the habit of rubbing them whenever he’s nervous. It comforts him, knowing that at least there is someone out there who cares about him.

So, I'm curious about something: What would a "Macaque possessed by WBS" au look to you? What would it be like?
I actually already thought about this a lot, you just gave me a really great excuse to put my thoughts down into one post! I've seen a few different takes on this idea, but my take on it is:
This is also combined with my Macaque immortality headcanon. Mac is nearly out of commission after his fight with MK and Wukong, maybe just barely able to pick himself up and move somewhere he can lay low for a while. Unable to really do much for the moment and attempt to get back to full strength as smoothly as possible. Probably in the same run down dojo, not thinking they would look for him in the same place he had been because it's so obvious (and he's right).
After WBS is driven out of DBK she takes a different path on the way to find a new host, sensing Macaque's diminished power. She doesn't know who it is, but a powerful but weakened host is still a weakened host she could take advantage of, temporarily at least.
When she sees it's Macaque this gives her pause, but then only fuels her even more. This is one of the most powerful demons she could think of ever finding like this. He is incredibly tenacious and mentally strong, and had he not been like this he would be far to strong to take... but beaten and bruised and quite frankly unable to defend himself from her take over? It's far too tempting. But she needs to be cautious. He may be weak now, but he wouldn't be weak forever. And not even for very long.
So she possesses his body but doesn't take over just yet. The icy coldness of the spirit inhabiting him shocks him before she offers him a bargain.
She will give him extra power, maybe just enough to even take down the Monkie Kid again, in exchange for hosting her spirit in safer harbor. She is too weak on the outside, but inside she could give him just enough of a boost.
He accepts after a while, knowing of her reputation and power but being completely confident in his ability to fight her off if he really wanted her out. And he decides, when she suggests working with the Spider Queen to get the artifact she needs for her plan, to keep her secret as a little ace up his sleeve. Can't have too many tricks stowed away now can he?
The events after go roughly the same as canon, Macaque joining forces with the Spider Queen and her knowing something is up but not realizing Macaque is possessed. He is much more annoyed and frustrated than WBS by herself is, however, and he takes great fun in tormenting Wukong while he is captured. Wukong asks why his scelera are tinted blue at the edges and his fur is patched with white in the shape of fighting scars but he ignores this. (The white fur is his healed patches of wounds, the fur growing back stark white instead of black.)
All the way up until Wukong is freed by DBK. Unbeknownst to Macaque WBS has been slowly encroaching on his mind while he is sleeping, planting little seeds to sprout so she can take full control. She's been using his body for short bursts when he is supposed to be sleeping, unlike wukong he actually needs to sleep eventually.
She takes over him completely for the first time while he is awake durring the final scene where she confronts Wukong, now with the added bonus hurt of being threatened with the face of someone he personally knows. (To Macaque it looks as if Wukong tried to punch him completely unprovoked this time, he just entered the room)
And of course the special finishes off like normal, and after Macaque starts to realize he is missing bits and pieces of his memory. A minute here. A few minutes there. The Spider Queen starts to look at him in even more fear than before.
Because WBS can't really physically hurt anyone with the body she has in canon, she has a normal human host. Macaque is everything different, strong, and she can lash out when necessary. And hurt. And destroy.
Just like with DBK.
It takes very little time for him to realize that the reason Syntax flinches away from him and has a slash of a scar that formed on his cheek, the reason Strong Spider moves in front of Huntsman when he steps too close, and the reason the Spider Queen keeps him at arms length is because they think he is turning on them. That he is lashing out at them for no reason.
When he tells WBS he is going to come clean to SQ his own hand slaps down over his mouth and WBS has learned how to take just enough control to move parts of Macaque's body against his will.
The next time he is seen by SQ days later he has a slash of white over his right, now icy blue, eye and a smirk that doesn't belong to him.
"Allow me to introduce myself properly, your Majesty..."

My first thing to do knowing hyperfixating on LEGO Monkie Kid is making a role swap AU because of course, though I was also inspired by @cassidyisnowdrawing ‘s Yellow Light Verse (that I really hope it doesn’t look like I’m copying you, I did my best to make them different from each other)!
So in this role swap, while everyone’s roles in the story are swapped (Mei’s the Monkie Kid, Red is her partner in crime, and MK serves DBK and PIF) their backstories haven’t changed, if that makes sense. Now while I keep their personalities similar to canon, they’re going to still have some differences due to their different circumstances.
Mei:
Mei would be a lot more insecure and eager to prove herself, both as Sun Wukong’s successor and her worth as a person since while I’m having backstories for the characters stay the same, I could see Mei and MK both being worse off self-esteem wise without having each other around growing up.
She’d still just as bubbly, excitable, protective, and phone savvy as Canon!Mei, if not more so on the protective aspect. Tends to go absolutely apeshit the most when someone threatens Green, Pigsy, Tang, Sandy and eventually includes MK and her own mentor, Sun Wukong, under this umbrella.
Case in point: when she sees Sun Wukong and Macaque fight. Through sheer protective anger and hurt about being betrayed allows her to lift the staff and decimate Macaque.
Sun Wukong would get attached a lot quicker to his successor in this AU because Mei just has that energy which activates Parental Instincts he didn’t even know he had.
Does noodle deliveries for Pigsy but has also makes vlogs of what it’s like working at Pigsy’s Noodles. She says it’s to better advertise the shop, but really she just likes making memories that she can look back on and show others. Starts doing it while also being the Monkie Kid and training with Wukong.
Was genuinely scared/intimidated by Demon Kid upon first meeting him but was quick to find that while he’s got the dramatics of being a villain down, he fails at the aspect of actually partaking in villainous behavior. After that, they’re quick to transition from enemies to frenemies to just being friends.
Makes no effort to hide her wanting to be friends with Demon Kid and finds his quiet bewilderment at her friendship adorable but also kind of sad.
A troublemaker despite her innocent face, which definitely makes Sun Wukong proud to see her causing chaos and get away with it. That, alongside her kind nature, are the reasons he chose her as his successor.
Creates tech for the team alongside Green, though their differing styles of inventing can cause complications or make the inventions backfire on them both, though she takes these more in stride compared to Green.
The undefeated queen in DDR and Monkey Mecha despite Green’s multiple attempts to dethrone her.
Mei: Hey, hey DBK look at me. DBK: [turns towards Mei] Mei: [ready to kick his ass] B I T C H!
A slight bit better at focus and following Wukong’s lessons compared to Canon!MK but still tends to get ahead of herself in wanting to learn flashier techniques before even getting the basics down.
Likes to wage psychological warfare on her enemies. By that I mean, she essentially likes pulling Bugs Bunny level antics to frustrate them to do stupid stuff in combat out of anger, allowing her to fuck them up with a smile on her face.
Green (AKA Red Son)
The most changed personality wise due to different circumstances in this AU, a lot more calm and composed to counteract Mei’s hyperactive demeanor and less prone to losing his temper. Though he’s still pretty uptight.
Is still the son of DBK and PIF but he had ran away some time after DBK had been imprisoned. Makes an effort to make sure he’s not recognized by anyone, dying his hair and wearing makeup. Still wears Canon!Red Son’s shades but they’re larger and he still dresses like a rich bitch because he has standards. He refuses to wear the color red for unknown reasons to Mei and the others, at least until they find out about his family.
Just as protective of Mei as she is of him, to the point he had some objections to her being chosen as Sun Wukong’s successor but eventually let it go once he saw how important it was to her. Begrudgingly chose to fight alongside her, thinking he might as well and avoid her getting herself killed. His way of showing he cares can appear condescending but Mei has known him long enough to know he really doesn’t see her incapable of taking care of herself.
Works alongside Mei to use their combined tech knowledge to combating the threat of DBK and his demon forces. However, his inventions can also have a tendency to backfire or not work as intended, much to his frustration.
Enjoys racing on his motorbike, participating in races across the city and often winning in 1st place. He is most definitely a cocky little bastard about his skill in racing, one the few things about himself that he puts a lot of pride in.
Had a complicated relationship with Demon Kid at first. At first, he resented the other for essentially being his parents attempt to “replace” him after he ran away and led himself to believe that he was much more appreciated by his parents for his control of his flames and magic power. However, that illusion is soon shattered once he sees how Demon Kid gets when they foil his plans since he’s familiar with that look of worry and resigned accepted that he’d have to go back to DBK and PIF with another failure on his back. Tries to show empathy after that without revealing his true identity, which only causes confusion for Mei and Demon Kid on how he’s so familiar with DBK, PIF, and demon culture as a whole.
The exhausted voice of reason among the team alongside Pigsy.
Often challenges Mei to video game championships which devolve to them play fighting once Mei inevitably beats him at everything.
Has his own façade of confidence but often fears not being strong enough to keep his found family safe but is too proud to admit until someone gets injured and he starts fearing for the worst.
Sun Wukong enjoys messing with him due to his uptight nature, especially at the Monkey King’s impishness.
Goes completely feral in combat once he gets the Dragon Sword. Even before that, he was willing to run over Demon Kid’s demon puppets with his bike to give Mei a hand.
Demon Kid (AKA MK)
A kid who’s a lot like Megamind: he lives for the dramatics and presentation of being a villain but fails at actually acting villainous when it comes down to it. Does his best to appear serious, intimidating, and someone not to mess with but that façade slips very often when it comes to things like being complimented or when someone mentions the Monkey King and he turns out to be a complete dork.
Not the son of DBK and PIF, but rather a low level demon that PIF had chose to be help her free DBK after Red Son had disappeared and she was left alone. Mainly because Demon Kid had no one else either and she saw potential with his strong magic, though it was rather out of control when they met. PIF had decided alongside DBK that they’d keep him around as an assistant/minion of sorts once he had helped her free DBK.
Since he doesn’t have Canon!Red Son’s prowess with technology, I considered instead that he’s skilled with magic and his own fire powers, using them a lot more in combat or during his schemes against Mei’s team. Still a major contributor to DBK’s army, but instead of the mechanical Bull Clones, perhaps Demon Kid instead supplies his king with sentient demon puppets given life through his magic. The armor can run the same, except with a magical angle instead of technology.
I have this idea that he’s actually able to pull out Sun Wukong’s staff on his own, much to his surprise. He’s quick to try and say it was due to a spell when PIF questions this. He’s left both amazed and terrified at the mere possibility of him being worthy to wield the staff of Sun Wukong himself.
His first meeting with Mei plays out similar to the show’s canon, though instead he intended on teleporting Mei away with a spell under the guise of “eliminating” her for DBK. Even while chasing her through the city, he was going to simply take the staff and scare her enough to never cross the Demon Bull King again. He tries to convince himself it’s to allow fear of DBK to be spread by leaving her alive but really, he just could never bring himself to kill or seriously harm someone.
Though like Canon!Red Son, he’s prone to losing his temper with others before immediately apologizing afterwards out of reflex. Also tends to teleport away from situations when he’s embarrassed himself, often saying he’s only allowing Mei and Green to win this time but next time will be different.
Spoiler alert: It rarely ever is.
DBK and PIF are often frustrated with Demon Kid because they know he has potential to bring Sun Wukong’s successor and her team to their knees with his powers and knowledge of magical spells but he fails to fulfill this because of his own inability to be cruel. They’re both like that episode of Spongebob where Plankton tries to teach him to be assertive/aggressive except they’re both Plankton and Demon Kid is Spongebob.
Quickly becomes attached to Mei and Green since they’re genuinely nice to him and while he insists that it’s because they’re his “personal archenemies”, he most definitely sees them as his friends and is constantly coming up with flashier schemes to impress/amuse them as well as get feedback from them. Was actually really lonely before meeting them, having to use his demon puppets for company. His attachment to Mei and Green can quickly evolve to possessiveness when he thinks someone is trying to take them away, whether they be other enemies that decide to fight them or a friend who is simply spending noticeable amount of time with them.
In the case of someone else trying to kill them, Demon Kid would be quick to shut that down and make that person immediately regret it since, in his words, he’s the only one allowed to destroy the two. This is one of the few situations where he gets completely serious and doesn’t bother with the theatrics.
Does his best to make himself look scary such as shoes to make him appear taller, jagged face paint, and perhaps sharp eyeliner to imitate PIF since he sees everyone fears her.
