22, 17 and 8 for kh?
22. your favorite part of canon that everyone else ignores
hm this would probably have to be all the soriku subtext lol. not *everyone* ignores it but as a whole, most of the fandom (especially the casual fans) tend to write it off or not even consider it
17. there should be more of this type of fic/art
stuff to do with twisted wonderland! i just think they're very similar (disney video games about defeating people overcome with darkness) and it's absolutely CRIMINAL that there's so few crossover fics (and so many of the ones that *do* exist are very SK-focused and as someone who doesn't care for SK, it's a bit frustrating)
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about
dream drop distance and kh3 are actually not that bad. i will defend dream drop and 3 with my LIFE.
#expanding on the ddd/kh3 hate and why i disagree: lots of people claim sora is ooc in ddd and i couldnt disagree more#sora just seems like he's been ''dumbed down'' because he doesn't believe himself to be in any danger! yen sid has assured them that theyre#-safe in taking this exam! not to mention he's still riding the high of having defeated xemnas and getting his friends back! he's probably-#-at the best point in his life since the islands got destroyed!#and with the kh3 hate: yes there are a lot of valid criticisms. however. kh3 had a very troubled development and all the time it was in the#-works meant that people's expectations were WAY too high for what the team was feasibly able to achieve. so yes kh3 has its problems; all-#-the games do. but i think that the rancid hatred is overblown and that the team did the best with what time they were given.#ANYWAYS sorry for rambling in the tags but this is a topic that i am VERY passionate about <3#athena rambles#athena answers asks!#ask game

12 Nothing left
written for @steddieangstyaugust (prompt: Terrible Things – Mayday Parade ) and @augustwritingchallenge (Prompt: animagus ) Rating: Mature Relationship: Steve/Eddie TW: mention of plane crash, mention of Steve’s parents death, suicidal thoughts, magic Words: 1735
The grumpy black cat shows at his door for the fifth night in a row, demanding loudly to be fed the fancy tuna Steve’s mom used to buy in the bio shop.
He has never had an animal and even if the cat is definitely a stray with no collar and probably full of fleas, he doesn’t seem eager to get a family. He wants his fancy tuna, nothing more.
Steve sighs, goes into the kitchen to grab a little dish and the can of tuna then he gets back and grabs some water too, and goes back to his backyard. The black cat is still there, staring at his reflection in the water like it was something unusual, but his pointed ears flinch when he hears the door slide open and turns toward Steve with a soft mew that makes Steve chuckle.
He doesn’t step closer until the food and the water are neatly positioned on the plates and Steve has moved away, staring at him from one of the deck chairs. The cat eats quietly, always very aware of Steve’s presence, and when he’s done he licks his thick black fur and then he blinks at Steve with his eyes so dark that they seem to hold all the secrets of the universe and then he disappears through the woods.
Steve sighs, realizing that the cat visits are the best moment of his day. In the last two weeks, his entire life was destroyed. He lost his place as the alpha male at school and his parents…
He puts his hands into his hair and pulls until he chokes back the tears.
His parents are dead. The plane they rented to get on that stupid island never made it. They are dead somewhere in the ocean. No flight data recorder, no plane, no emergency call. Nothing. Just Cindy, his father’s secretary, calling him to give him the news.
And that’s not all.
His father wasn’t the great businessman he pretended to be. He had so many debts that Steve would have to renounce his inheritance if he doesn’t want to drown in his debts. Still, he’s feeding a stray cat the best tuna in town and pretending that everything is fine.
The news of the accident didn’t make it on the news to protect Steve from debt collectors so none knows that he has nothing left. None knows that some days he wonders if it wouldn’t be easy for him to just put an end to his misery.
He was having those kinds of thoughts the first time the cat showed up. Big, furry, and loud. He has mewled until he got Steve’s attention and since that day he has shown up every night, at the same hour, when waves of despair fill Steve’s lungs, making breathing an unbearable task.
It’s just a coincidence, Steve isn’t so naive to believe that a stray cat is trying to save him, but he has found himself waiting eagerly for the elegant animal to come to visit.
While Steve cleans the little plates he reminds himself that he should try to find a job, but that would mean that the entire town will know that he has nothing left and his stupid pride won’t let him. He sighs loudly. He has one week to leave the house, then it will be put on sale and he’ll have to start living in his car like a homeless guy at nineteen.
That’s not the life he thought was waiting for him.
A scratch on the door attracts his attention, and the big black cat is back, holding a lizard in his mouth.
Steve chuckles, opening the door to let him in, “Come on. I don’t bite.” Steve chuckles, while the cat weary gets inside, leaving his bloody prey on the Persian carpet. Steve will put it in the trash as soon as the cat leaves, but it’s nice seeing that at least he has a friend left.
“Milk?” he asks the cat, not really waiting for an answer but pouring some in a little plate while he grabs his beer, “You must be thirsty after your hunt.”
Steve cracks the beer can open while the cat slowly laps the milk.
“I’m having a hell of a week.” Steve complains, drinking his beer, “My parents died in a plane crash. They didn’t even have a funeral because there was no body to retrieve. They asked me if I wanted a commemoration ceremony but it didn’t make sense to bury two empty caskets in old Lord Harrington chapel, you know?” he drinks some more, “Oh, and I’m full of debts. And I’m going to lose the house soon. Hope the new owner will be kind to you. You’re a good guy. You even brought me a lizard.” Steve chuckles, grabbing another beer, and another until he’s too drunk to stand and he simply sits on the Valentino’s tiles his mom personally chose when they moved.
“I won’t even be present at the graduation ceremony. The Principal told me he’d have my diploma delivered where I wanted. But I have no idea where the hell I’m going to stay. Not here, that’s for sure, but I don't know how comfortable my car is for sleeping. Had a few hookups but never slept there. Not even once. Maybe I should have tried ahead. To be ready. And you have to take care, little friend.” Steve sighs, “I'm only telling you this because life can do terrible things. You can’t know it but I used to be sort of good at school, I was rich and famous and had the prettiest girl in school. Then another boy came and claimed my crown. My friends left me. My parents died. And all I’m left with is a car and a stray cat that loves my mom’s fancy tuna.”
The cat steps closely so slowly that for a moment Steve thinks that he’s imagining it, but after a few moments the cat is standing next to his feet, his dark eyes pointed at Steve like he had understood his entire discourse and he was sorry for him.
Those eyes are dark, so dark, almost magnetic. But he’s just a cat and Steve has drunk too much. He should go to bed.
“Yes, you should.” the cat says, and Steve giggles.
“Cats don’t talk. God I drank too much.” he decides, standing up and wobbling toward his room, moving one leg after the other but feeling that it's not him who’s ordering his limbs to move.
Bullshit.
He’s just drunk.
***
When he wakes up the next day the sun shines too brightly and he curses himself for drinking too much. On his night table, there’s a big glass of water and some Advil. At least past him foresaw that he was going to need them in the morning.
He slowly steps down the stairs, but he freezes: someone is singing in his kitchen. Steve grabs an umbrella from the umbrella rack and steps quietly into the kitchen. In front of the fires, cooking some eggs and bacon stands a beautiful man with long black hair and deep dark eyes.
“Good morning.” He says, smirking, and his teeth look a little bit too sharp.
“Who the fuck are you?!” Steve asks, holding the umbrella tight to his chest.
“Are you threatening me with an umbrella, Steve? For real?”
“How do you know my name?!”
“I know many things about you. And I know you had an awful week and that you need to eat something more than chips and candies. Sit down. It’s almost ready.”
“How did you get in?”
“You invited me.”
“I never did such a thing.”
The man turns with a little smirk, and his tongue flickers on his lower lips just for a moment in a very familiar way.
“This can’t be true. I must be still asleep!”
“What can’t be true?”
“You… your tongue… the cat… it’s not…”
“I need my opposable thumbs to cook, but I guess I can indulge you for a moment.” the man winks, and with a puff he disappears.
“Where the hell…?”
But when Steve circumnavigates the table the big black cat is staring at him with the same smirk the man had.
“Do you prefer this form? My uncle says I’m cuter like this.”
Steve startles and falls on the ground, hitting the floor harshly, while the cat steps closer to him, climbing his legs with ease.
“Hi, Steve. I’m Eddie. Nice to meet you. Now can you tell me where are you hiding that incredible tuna? I really enjoyed it.”
Steve points a shivering finger toward a kitchen cabinet, and Eddie gets down from his lap and turns back into a human to open the kitchen cabinet, “Here it is! I’m going to miss it when we move.”
“We… what?”
“My uncle is coming to visit soon, he’ll decide if you are one of us, but I already know you are.”
“One of you?”
“Animagus. Mages that can change into animals.”
“Am I?”
“Yes, you are, Eddie confirms, putting some eggs and bacon on a plate and offering it to Steve, “That’s how I found you.”
“I… I didn’t transform into an animal.”
“No, you didn't.” Eddie replies, nudging the plate closer to him, “But you almost did. I smell the stench of your despair from miles away. I just had to make sure before calling Wayne, don’t want to make the old man travel so long for a false alarm, you know?”
“I don’t know what you are talking about.”
“Eat, Stevie.” Eddie insists, taking a chair and putting the tuna on a little plate but eating it with a fork this time, “Phoenix burn themselves when they’re desperate.” Eddie says, licking his lips, “And you almost did.” He explains, holding the fork and gesturing with it while he talks, “I thought you were a grumpy old man tired of living between normies. You can easily understand how surprised I was to see a young phoenix with no training abandoned in a huge and empty house.”
A knock on the window interrupts them and when Steve turns the biggest eagle he ever saw is staring at him with his head tilted to the side.
“Oh, that’s Wayne. He’ll explain it better. Anyway, if he says you’re one of us you’re coming with us.”
“Where?”
“Home.”

Cale's Super Rock Villa Has a Deeper Meaning
So, I was re-reading the Caro Kingdom fight against the White Star recently (around chapter 450) since it's a super underrated fight… so much stuff I forgot from that part. Like, Mary actually using a dead mana sword?? That's so freaking cool!!
Anyway, the reason I bring it up is because there's an important detail about KRS's past there, which I totally missed before!
As Choi Han attacks the White Star in TCF Chapter 453, he recalls a flashback from CJS's life:
After struggling at work with Kim Rok Soo when he first entered the company, he headed home right away after finishing work for a while after he got used to the work. There were colleagues who wanted him to join them after work because he was a friendly guy, but he always declined and headed to his own place. Only Kim Rok Soo and the team leader knew the reason he had to go straight home. Honestly speaking, his home wasn't much. The company that was located in Seoul was located around the central border of the destroyed area and the still somewhat intact area and Choi Jung Soo's house was around there as well. His house was a small one bedroom in a building that was barely maintaining its shape as a villa. The building looked old like the buildings in a movie about the apocalypse he wanted before the world changed, but the people living inside were happy.
GUYS. DID YOU CATCH THAT? KRS LIVED IN A VILLA!!
And old, crumbling villa where he owned only one bedroom – but that's not the freaking point!!
First of all – KRS liked Super Rock Villa so much because it reminded him of his old home! That's just so sweet. He's such a sentimental guy...! 😭
But that's not what I want to focus on. Yes, there were the Henituse villa and the Harris Village as well, but... Super Rock Villa is different. As something that Cale inherited, by himself, it represents something more than merely a house to live in.
Think about it: the state of the two villas Cale lived in... it's like an allegory to his previous life VS his new life!
In his old life, he lived among the very people he protected, but he kept distance from them. It wasn't a physical distance – since he was living in the same building as them – but he didn't make any friends with his neighbors. Just like with his co-workers, KRS enjoyed their happiness from the sidelines... because KRS was cursed and doing his best to stay away in order to protect them 💔
But! BUT! In his new life, when he got Super Rock villa, not only was it in pristine condition – in contract to the old one which was falling apart – but the first thing he did, was fill it with living beings!!
...Sure, he also did that stupid in-denial internal monologue how he's doing it because he wants them to protect him. But we all know Cale is a shameless liar by this point; even to himself. ...Especially to himself.
So basically: Cale did that because he WANTED TO LIVE AMONG HAPPY PEOPLE AGAIN
Except this time – he was a part of that family!!
The whole Wind Island's test of fear later re-affirms the idea completely. Cale's biggest fear is the Super Rock villa being empty. The happy home meant for friends and family becoming their grave.
The Super Rock Villa is so much MORE to Cale than merely a cool rich house to live in. It directly represents the state of his life and family 😭
#tcf#trash of the count's family#lcf#lout of the count’s family#cale henituse#cale#tcf cale#tcf analysis#character analysis#super rock villa#tcf meta#see things like that is why i adore this novel so much#there's just so much to dig into once you start paying attention#cale is such an interesting person with so many complexities to his past and behaviours and choices#i love it

9 - Coast - Luffy x f!soulmate!reader
Chapter 9
Taglist: @mystic60 , @louisechec , @pinksh1t , @violetmatcha , @urbisexualfriend
Masterlist!
Content below the cut <3
It's been quite a couple of days since that night. So, let’s have a little recap:
First, the crew had managed to run into marines, my first encounter with them so far, and it was terrifying. They shot cannons at us even as we managed to lose them in a fog, the crew relatively at ease while it happened; I didn't understand how they could be so calm. If even one of those cannon balls hit the ship, we would've been sunk to the bottom of the ocean, and yet they were all just laying there... Luffy specifically 'couldn't move because he was too hungry,' and by that point I was ready to have a panic attack.
In the end, all thanks to Nami's navigational skills, we ended up arriving at an island inhabited by an army of goats that were led by an old man named Zenny. Throughout the four to five days we had stayed there, we had learned that he had used to be a pirate-money-lender, marooned after being chased off with a great fortune. Then, the same marines had somehow managed to track us down, and we found out the sergeant chasing us was actually acting against his higher-ups' orders; he wanted to search out Zenny and steal this alleged fortune, but it was actually eaten by goats, so there wasn’t any fortune to steal.
It was an insane venture, ending happily with the sergeant being arrested for his crimes, and the rest of the marine ships being destroyed in the reef surrounding the island when they made the move to arrest the crew. Zenny decidedly became a pirate himself, and all of the Strawhat crew remained relatively unharmed throughout the ordeal.
Oh, and during our stay, Zenny taught me how to take inventory, as well as how to easily manage finances. It was a skill that I was genuinely excited to try out with the crew, and was hoping it would be something that I could actually be useful for, since I felt like I had nothing valuable to contribute to the group. So, that was pretty exciting.
There was one recent development that was a bit of a downside, though...
"You don't look much like a pirate, girl." His voice grated from my side, old and weathered over the long years of use. I turned to look at him, confused on how he could tell. Why did it seem like everyone was able to see it so clearly? Was I that out of place?
"Um... Well, I'm not really. Luffy is my soulmate." I decided to leave out the part that I was from another world entirely.
"Soulmate?" He blinked widely at me, as if I had just told him the most surprising information in all his life.
"Yeah." I nodded, and he furrowed his brow.
"Sad for you, girl. He doesn't seem like he cares much for your company," he gestured to the teen, who was stuffing his mouth full of fruit a few feet away, completely oblivious to our conversation about him. My stomach dropped.
"That's... not true." I weakly denied. Truth be told, Luffy had gone back to his old ways of running around and doing whatever he pleased without so much as looking in my general direction. Every time he ate, did chores, or even before he slept; it was like I had been forgotten about all over again, I was a lost thought in the back of his mind. I had been trying my best, ignoring the discomfort to keep the peace, but if Zenny had noticed then...
"Well, I'm sure you thought it through. You've got some guts to follow a ruffian like him."
Guts. Maybe that's what I needed. Was I not 'gutsy' enough for him? Was he ignoring me because I wasn't his type? That wasn’t possible, right?
Well, fine. Whatever.
I could ignore him too.
And so, I had been... Sorta'.
It was a lot harder than I initially thought; Even as we were chased by marines again two days later, helping Henzo find his long lost friends in Ape's Concert (The Rainbow Mist), and saved the town from a tyrannical governor who was actually the ex-captain who ransacked the town years ago.
I couldn't help but feel guilty every time he said something and I would ignore him, or avoid his general presence whenever he waltzed on deck.
What I wanted was for him to see that he was bothering me, that his aloof nature wasn’t cutting it, but it was so conflicting to feel the bond of our souls say otherwise.
In an effort to hide my ever growing discomfort as each day crawled by, I had begun to work on a project with Robin. It was more for Robin's interest than my own, considering I had already accepted my transition into this world as final; But, after seeing inside of Ape's concert and its many mysterious abilities of warping time and space, Robin decided she would to attempt to formulate a hypothesis on my random appearance from the sky. Assuming that Ape's Concert was some sort of space-time rift, it would be a borderline perfect explanation for how I had managed to make it here practically out of thin air. We added it to the top of the list of possibilities, and I tried my best to help her brainstorm ways in which this might have taken place, despite my very limited knowledge. What she found most helpful from me seemed to be information about my old home, even though I had never once spotted a rainbow mist in my life; other than actual rainbows.
When the research was done, and I was stricken with boredom, I had to practically beg Nami to let me help with the finances of the ship. It took me several days, and lots of pining, in order for her to finally agree. She may or may not have practically ripped my head off in the process, but in my eyes, it was an absolute win.
Now I was able to help her keep track of the berries, the stock of the ship, and even the logs of our recent adventures. We came up with some different ways to distribute the money to the crewmates for the appropriate errands and even allocate them some personal spending money, much to Nami's dislike, and I was feeling fairly fulfilled.
Well, that was until I went back out on deck and was reminded of how stagnant my relationship had become with my soulmate, again. Fulfillment was replaced with frustration, and the loop reset once more (just like the never-ending waters of Ape's concert, funnily enough).
The exhaustion of course wasn't helping; nightmares seemed more and more frequent, morphing between my old memories of a shitty childhood and current issues regarding my soulmate, and sleep was becoming less and less. I felt awful about it, but there were a few times I had snapped at Nami or Usopp whenever they accidentally (or purposefully) pressed the wrong buttons. At those times, all I could do was apologize before keeping my lips shut tight. The others were picking up on my tenderness, I could tell, but I didn't feel like dragging them further into the drama anymore than they already were. Luffy couldn't tell at all, naturally.
And that's where we're at right now, to end that rather large summary. We've since left Henzo and friends' company, and are back to sailing on the open seas. Everyone is chatting about the recent adventure, Luffy expressing how fun it was, while the rest of them question how he could possibly have enjoyed something so dangerous and appalling. Zoro is working out somewhere in the background as everyone begins to disperse.
I feel a light tap on my shoulder, something small bounces off and drops to the floor, crumbling to bits on the floorboards. Confused, I furrow my brow and hold out a hand. Another piece of deteriorating-something falls there, practically turning to ash in my hand. I look upwards, seeing something overshadow the Going Merry, and feel my face pale.
"Is that rain?" Zoro asks, and I can’t find it in myself to respond.
"No way, this ain't rain." Sanji disagrees.
"U-Um..." I whimper out, seeing the massive galleon begin to fall upon us, "It's definitely not rain."
The rest of the crew look at me, then they look up.
Silence.
Chaos ensues. The boat lands only a few hundred feet from us, but the broken pieces of it are still falling onto the ship. The waves rock the boat side to side, nearly capsizing us from the force of the collision with the water.
"Why are things falling out of the sky so much recently?!" Usopp points an accusatory finger at me, scrambling desperately at the boards beneath him while sliding around.
"How am I supposed to know?!" I shout back at him, clinging to Nami and the mast as I struggle to keep myself in the same spot.
"And I'm not a thing, Usopp! I'm a person!"
"Why the hell does that matter?!"
Another wave comes, and Usopp is sent flying into me. The argument is soon forgotten as we clutch each other with a conjoined mission of trying not to fall off the boat. We slam into other crewmates, like Chopper, as we go.
More jostling, more shouting, and more panicking. Nami is screaming to turn the rudder, Zoro is saying it won't work. Sanji is shouting for Luffy to protect the ship, and Chopper is laying flat on the ground. Robin has managed to plant herself to the boat using her devil fruit.
Usopp lets go and I'm sent sprawling on my back, sputtering and coughing as bits of debris fall on my face. Something large, but light, falls on top of me as I attempt to recover, and as I clutch it in retaliation I can feel it fall apart in my hands.
I open my eyes, see the empty eye sockets of a skeleton in front of my face, and feel my stomach drop. It hits me that a literal dead person is laying on top of me, before I begin to screech so loud that I was sure every pirate and marine could hear me within fifty miles. The emittance hurt my throat, but I didn’t care.
All of them look at me, but I'm too busy flailing and getting further tangled with the dead guy, trying to get him off and failing; still screaming.
"A skeleton dead guy!" Usopp hollers with me.
"Don't just stand there, get that disgusting thing off her!" Nami shouts at Usopp in anger, who stays frozen.
"I'm surrounded by death..." He sobs hopelessly, before Zoro rushes over and finally rips the corpse off of me. Picking me up like a sack of potatoes, he rushes over to a safe spot where we both can hang on. I whimper out a 'thank you,' still shivering at the feeling of somebody's bones in my hands, and he grunts.
When the continuous rain of broken-ship finally stops berating us, Nami has come over to hold me since I couldn't stop shaking and Zoro didn't know what to do about it; while he, Sanji and Luffy begin to question what the hell just happened. Usopp and Chopper are quivering and holding each other tightly. Robin is looking at the skeleton with interest. I wanted to puke.
"Alright, why did a ship just fall out of the sky?" Luffy asked, sounding a little flabbergasted.
"Captain error?" Sanji asked.
"Well, the sky is clear. Who knows?" Zoro added.
"I knew coming to the grand line was a mistake. It freaks me out! First, we travel over a ship graveyard, and now they're falling out of the sky complete with skeletons!" Usopp cried, eyes bloodshot and looking around wildly. Chopper's teeth were clenched so tight he couldn't even speak.
"Uh, Nami, can you make sure there's no more ships about to fall on us?" Luffy asks, completely ignoring me.
"No, you idiot! I'm busy doing what you should be doing right now!" She yells at him.
"How would I even know that anyways?!"
"Doing what now?" He asks, fuddled by her first statement and disregarding her own question.
"Comforting your soulmate!" She barks at him, and I pull away anxiously as her hold tightens.
"I-It's fine." I mutter, not bothering to look at anyone as I turn toward the bathroom.
"I-I need to go wash my hands, anyways... They're covered in bone... dust..." I shiver, before moving toward the door. I couldn't care less about Luffy, right now; not when I was imagining my own bones turning to dust like that mans' was.
---
"A sky island, really?" I ask Nami, who nods.
I had finally come out of the bathroom after needing to recuperate from the scare. Also, it took a while to get the bone out from under my nails. Ugh.
"Yep, look," She pointed at the log pose, which was indeed angled skyward.
"And Luffy found a map of the island on that ship as it was sinking." She handed me the old, weathered parchment, and I unfurled it carefully.
Skypeia. It was written in Script at the top of the map, the other, much smaller writing being illegible from usage and time. You could still make out the shape of the island, though, surrounded by sea monsters and covered in forests. There were outlines of cities and people within it. I curled it up again and handed it back to Nami, afraid of leaving such a relic out in the elements for too long.
"So... How do we get there?" I asked, and she shrugged.
"Dunno'. But right now we're salvaging the ship to look for more clues. Luffy, Sanji and Zoro are down there now." Her tone sounded impassive.
Pause.
Luffy was at the bottom of the ocean?
I looked at the yellow tubing trailing down into the dark water, and felt my stomach turn. But, he couldn't swim, right? So how was he...?
"Um... is he gonna' be okay in there?" I voiced my concern, the current focus on ignoring him forgotten as the soulmate bond resurfaced my worry over his well-being.
"He'll be fine," Usopp brushes off my nervous look with a wave of his hand, "I made those barrels with a special design; they'll never get busted open!"
He seemed confident, but I still wasn't. Who would save him down there if something bad happened? I guess he did have the other two, but still, how would they swim up from the bottom of the ocean? That sounded impossible.
"If... If you say so." I said, though inside I disagreed with the words; but what could I do at this point? He was already down there.
I looked back over the ship's edge, realizing I had forgotten about something else when I came out. I meant to ask about it originally, but I was caught up in the weird contraption that was newly discovered to be keeping my soulmate alive. This ignoring thing wasn’t going so well.
"By the way, who's that?" I pointed at the large galleon next to our own small ship, looking like there were many, many men on its bow.
"Oh, yeah. That's another crew trying to salvage the same ship that the boys are on right now; speaking of which, I'm gonna' kill those morons if their captain doesn't do it for us."
"Nami," I took a moment, contemplating what she meant, "their captain is also on the ship?"
"Duh. What else did you think I meant?" She responded in her usual know-it-all tone.
"Woah. Okay, guys. What the hell did I miss?" I ask, completely overwhelmed by all the information she was feeding me.
"Quite a bit." Robin laughed from behind us.
"Well, to start--" Usopp started an explanation, before he lost his footing due to a sudden, large vibration.
RUMBLE.
Tremors began to erupt from the depths below, and a large, dark shadow began to spread below the boats. It stretched so long that I couldn’t see where it ended. I took a step away from the edge, heart racing at the sight; it was getting closer.
"There's something else down there..." Nami says nervously.
"It's huge. Anybody just wanna' run?" Usopp adds, sounding timid.
It bursts from the water beside the galleon right after he speaks. Water slides off its enormous, gray back as the waves disturb the ships gently. It looks like a turtle, or a tortoise, but of a gigantic size. Its eye stares forward, skin covered in warts and bumps as the tubes that are connected to our ship dangle from its sharp-toothed maw.
"Does anybody else see the monster the size of an island in front of us?!" Nami exclaims, sounding frustrated at the lack of response from the rest of the crew as we all stare up quietly, almost awe-stricken. I hear Chopper swallow thickly, looking ready to pass out.
Still, nobody responds. We continue to gaze at the creature, and the men on the galleon are panicking over their captain being eaten. Inwardly, I feel the same way, but it hasn’t registered just yet.
"One tooth is the size of our boat... That's it, we're dead!" Nami continues, before Usopp is crying out next.
"There's no big monster, this is just one big, stupid dream that we're all having together for some reason!" He's tear stricken, before Chopper is joining in.
"A dream, right!" He confirms, and they all sigh in relief, seemingly appeased by the thought. I'm not, however; still staring at the yellow tubes that hang from the things' mouth.
"I-It's definitely not a dream." I say quietly, stepping toward Robin like she would be my new source of comfort or while the others lose their minds.
"Our boys just got eaten." She states, matter of fact, and the trio freeze. The confirmation of my own worries makes me want to step away from her instead.
"...along with that ship we were trying to salvage." She states without a single hint of emotion in her voice.
"How can you be so calm?!" Usopp is hysterical about the situation, not that I could blame him, but Robin was always like that.
The creature begins to grind the boat in its teeth, chewing loudly in a way that everyone can hear the wood of the ship in its mouth crunching. It's like it could hear what we were saying, taunting that it had just eaten members of the crew, and my soulmate, too.
Chopper begins running back and forth, freaking out in his normal-form. Usopp begins blaming Nami, and I am desperately searching for the bond between my soulmate and I to tell me if he's dead or not. Nothing felt different, but I couldn’t find him, either.
If he was alive, I wouldn’t ignore him ever again. The regret was like acid in my stomach, eating away at my insides.
Then, the monster is moving. It meanders forward, and Robin makes a point that if we stay connected, it will likely drag us to the bottom of the ocean, evident enough by the fact that it's pulling both the ship and the galleon as it goes. She's trying to devise a plan as everyone's agitation increases.
"Usopp!" Nami shouts.
"Yeah!" He shouts back, looking motivated.
"Cut the air hoses and get us out of here!" She lifts a determined fist, and I finally snap out of my stupor.
"Are you a devil?!" Usopp accuses.
"She's a devil!" Chopper affirms.
"W-Wait, no– Don't do that!" I yelped.
"You can't, what if he's still alive down there?!"
"Why the hell are you so worried about Luffy?! He doesn't even pay attention to you, anyways!" She shouts back, seeming desperate.
Okay, ouch. Valid, but ouch.
My feelings are only hurt for a second before another tug on the ship doesn't let me dwell on it for long. There wasn't any time to worry about that now, we needed to find a solution; we needed to rescue Luffy and the others.
Then, the cherry on top, the sky suddenly goes overcast. It takes only a moment, as if a bunch of rain clouds just swooped in and placed themselves above us. That isn't the case, either; the entire ocean has been plunged into darkness. Nami mutters how that's impossible, Chopper and Usopp stutter in fright.
A burst of water from the side of the ship, and a gurgling Luffy is sent flying up into the air and on deck. He groans when he makes contact, hat falling off in the process. A massive sack is attached to his back. It looks heavy.
I can't believe he's still alive, relief flowing through my veins like a hard to quit drug. Through the fog of all the hair-raising events that have taken place so far, he’s the light house that reminds me why I’m here.
"Luffy!" I rush over, crashing to my knees as he still doesn't respond to any of his friends' cries of his name. Screw ignoring him, this was more important.
"H-Hey," I shake him desperately, dread filling my heart as it drops at the pale shade of his face. He doesn’t respond.
"Get up, Luffy! Please don't be dead– wake up!"
The begging seems to work. His eyebrows twitch, before his eyes snap open and his skin begins to turn back to its usual tan. When we lock eyes, he grins, still laying flat on the deck.
"Oh, hey!" He blinks, "What's up?"
"A-Are you okay?" I scan all over his face, before giving a quick glance over the rest of his body. Nothing seems out of the ordinary, and I can feel the nerves inch away.
"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" He laughs, completely unphased, and I breathe a sigh of relief. He sits up, cocking his head to the side as he waits for my answer.
"Well... you were eaten by a giant turtle." I put it simply, not knowing how else to say it.
"Wait, really?!" He looks at me with wide eyes after snatching his strawhat from the floor, hand covering it in disbelief.
"Um, yeah--" Before I can finish, his eyes zip to something behind and above us. I can hear the angered-screaming steadily grow closer before Luffy's eyes get serious. It's quick; he loops an arm around my waist and tugs me with him as he rolls out of the way of the incoming punch, which leaves a dent in the wood where we were just sitting. His arm leaves the space once the deed was done, goosebumps raising all over as he pulls away. My heart stutters, feeling giddy at the fact that he had basically saved me, before it was covered by confusion.
The monkey man, who I assumed was the captain of the other ship, beats his chest and yells something at Luffy.
"He's... a monkey?" I ask, bewildered.
"Yep," Luffy laughs, "Sure is. A monkey wearing makeup!"
"That's... weird."
"I know. He said it makes him look refined or somethin.'"
"No, I mean that he's a monkey. We don't have people like that in my world." I shake my head at him.
"Really? That's weird. Just wait 'till you see a fishman!" He giggles.
"U-Um... guys..." Nami's voice quivers, and it's just now that I've noticed everyone's silence. Everyone, and I mean everyone, even the turtle-monster, is looking at the sky.
"What's the matter... with..." The words die in my throat as I turn to look in the same direction.
They're huge.
Three massive shadows that tower high into the sky, taller than any skyscraper I've ever seen. The imposing figures even loom over the creature that was threatening to sink us, and I realize as I look at the wings on their backs that they are the reason the sun suddenly disappeared.
My blood feels cold. Everyone else feels the same as we gawk and choke on the air in our throats, the natural reactions of our body fighting each other as muscles tense and urge us to move, while our brain tells us to keep still.
Nobody moves. Nobody breathes. Sweat is dripping from our necks and faces.
Then, a hulking figure begins to move. Two more appear out of the mist behind it; all of them bearing spears. The first figure begins to raise its own, slowly, readily preparing for an attack.
This was it. We were going to die.
Then, both captains break free from the intensity of the moment, and Luffy nearly ruptures my eardrums with his outburst from beside me.
"Sea monsters!" The cry seems to initiate a wake-up call.
The boys scramble for the oars, and it only takes a second before they're aggressively rowing everyone away from the danger. The wood creaks and bellows as we paddle over the waves, skipping and leaping with every harsh row. But they don't stop, all desperately working in sync as we speed away from the darkness and toward the light.
Nobody says anything, there's only the sound of the whipping wind and the grunts of those who are pushing us to safety. I sit in the same spot, staring at the figures that remain, still staring at the spot even when we manage to get to somewhere brighter; and I don't bother to move even when we eventually lose sight of them.
This world was insane.

Thinking about how the Brazilians are doomed by the narrative to be far from home since the start. Just fated to be eternally adrift in the distant echoes of their own existence. It started with their ship crashing in a secluded island where they got stranded with no contact or communication with the outside world. Despite this, they adapted and began establishing a life there. But the moment they find a place a person to call home they are snatched away from it.
Felps being happy that Cucurucho being nice to him and he has a happy life and then in a blimp all of that was gone as he was yanked away and froze. Cellbit being happy that atleast he is surrounded by people he loves and especially his best friend but in an attempt to bring him back, him breaking more and more apart from his family - his home - to be yanked and secluded away.
Tazercraft establishing a new life, a new family around them but then soon enough two of their important family members were taken and frozen away as a third one is deep in grief. For so long they were by each other's side as their anchors. Then they got their family - their home - together only for both of them to be yanked away from it. Oh and then Walter Bob the companionship the dynamics that they formed couldn't even last a day before being snatched away and deteriorate to a point where they don't even know if he is alive . Then as they nursed through each other grief, Pac had been taken away leaving Mike alone with his thoughts and then the tables were reserved leaving Pac is a much much worse position with all his home broken apart. And now Mike's gonna be back to lost son, lost Pac and Forever, and deep in grief and blame Cellbit.
And Cellbit, coming from a life where anger and trauma reigned supreme where him even thinking of having a family seemed like a distant unfulfillable dream. However, the island came in front of a new ray of hope but that was soon shadowed by bouts and bouts of hurt. His best friend gets taken away, he destroys all his relationships with all his family - his home - around him. But he fought through and then he found love, someone to call him home - someone who his own anger almost took away from him. And now as finally Cellbit was begin getting used to a comfortable life a family life and a home to call home. As he felt his cards have finally been dealt right a tornado comes and destroys everything he held dear to him.
Poor Forever, ever since he's been here, he has just become accustomed to some or other of his family member just not being there and even if they are present, there is some kind of power that causes continues to serve as a wall between the ties of their lives. His attempts at love despite all his efforts still have him running in circles. Forever has seen his family - his home going through every single problem imaginable yet he has stayed strong and powered through. He gave up such a good fight until the end yet he is now as further away from his home - his family as he could be.
All the Brazilians love with their whole heart but the fate has been anything but kind to them. Everything they have had to let go has been so against their wills , the claw marks might as well be visible. In a cruel twist of fate, the story's inkwell ran dry, leaving our people stranded in a world where home became an echo and destiny a bitter stranger. They are just stuck in a maze of lost homes and stolen dreams, of forever being a wanderer in the desolate realm of narrative inevitability.

A Man After Midnight | Spencer Reid
Add yourself to my taglist! | Here’s my masterlist!
Pairing: Spencer Reid x Fem!Reader
Warnings: A little bit of angst, mention of alcohol use, fainting, fluff, not proofread
Author's note: Spencer Reid; king of destroying relationships, it seems. (Read You Knock The Wind Out Of Me to get this reference lmao)
Words: 2.614
Spencer and y/n have been best friends since they could remember. While everything around him was changing; him going through his education quicker than anyone has ever been able to, him moving to Washington D.C., him getting into BAU… Everything happened with y/n right by his side.
She was a constant.
They were twenty-nine when y/n got engaged to her boyfriend of one year, James. Though Spencer wasn’t the biggest fan of James, he could see how happy he made his best friend. She wanted to marry him and no matter how much Spencer told her he disliked the guy, he couldn’t stand in the way of her happiness.
That was why he was the one to organize her bachelorette party, unbeknownst to y/n. Her sister was her maid of honor, she was the one that was supposed to organize it. But Spencer insisted on it. After all, he was the one who knew her the best. Her sister would just hire a stripper and call it a day, but that wasn’t what y/n wanted.
Y/N wanted a bachelorette party akin to Sophie Sheridan’s in Mamma Mia.
Ever since it came out two years ago, y/n had been obsessed with the musical movie. Every time they watched it together – which was a lot – she’d tell Spencer she wanted a party like that at one point in her life and that he wasn’t a true best friend unless he made it happen for her. Of course she was only joking, but when the opportunity arose, Spencer took it.
With the help of his friends – who had become y/n’s friends too – he managed to pull it off.
Of course it wasn’t on a remote Greek island and her mother wasn’t in a band. Neither did she not know who her father was. But other than that, Spencer, JJ, Emily and Penelope managed to pull it all off. From the setting to the decorations to the ABBA-centered playlist Penelope curated.
Spencer was excited for her to see it.
But then again, maybe he didn’t want to be the one to see it. Maybe he didn’t want to be the one to organize it. Maybe he wanted to be the one his friends organized a bachelor party for, parallel to her bachelorette party. Maybe he wanted to be the one to marry her.
Not James.
“She’s gonna love it, Spence,” JJ complimented as all four of them admired their work.
Spencer offered his friend a thankful smile, even though he couldn’t muster up the thankfulness. He felt terrible for feeling this way. He should be happy for his best friend. He should be celebrating. But he was actually dreading this night more than anything.
Even more so when he saw something he wasn’t supposed to see. Something that angered him to the fullest, yet there was nothing he could do about it. It was James’ word against his and no one was going to believe the love-sick puppy who had been accused of trying to sabotage the relationship in the first place.
Though seeing y/n’s smile widen when she arrived at the party was a great consolation prize. Her face lit up entirely as her eyes scanned the sight before her. Even a couple of tears rolled down her face as she took all of it in.
There had never been a prettier picture than watching her cry her happy tears over her surprise bachelorette party. Spencer wanted to take a picture and keep it in his wallet, just so he could look at that beautiful, radiant smile of hers forever.
As the guests started to dance around to the ABBA-music playing, Spencer stood near the bar to watch everything happen from afar. Y/N danced with her friends from college, her co-workers, Spencer’s co-workers, … She hadn’t even noticed him standing there, not that he wanted her to. If anything, he wanted her to ignore him for the entire night and enjoy herself whilst he sulked by himself.
“You’re just gonna stand here and watch her all night?” Penelope asked, nudging him with her shoulder when she came to the bar to top off her drink.
Gazing into his drink as it swirled around in the glass, Spencer chuckled softly. “I don’t know… Maybe it was stupid for me to do this and to attend… I just– I don’t know what to do, Penelope. I’ve told her a billion times that I don’t like James and she marries him? What kind of a friend am I to let that happen?”
“A friend who doesn’t want to stand in the way of her happiness,” Penelope responded with a dose of honey wrapped around her words.
“And what did get me?”
Before Penelope could answer, the volume of the music increased and y/n’s friends and colleagues formed a large circle around her. The guests started singing along to the song, which Spencer deducted to be Voulez-Vous, the Mamma Mia version instead of the original ABBA one. He didn’t even know what was happening until they all started to dance the same choreography. This wasn’t something he had planned, but it was seemingly a surprise for y/n as the men from the bachelor party swung into their party, just like in the movie.
Y/N was quick to find James, who held out a necklace for her. Smiling, y/n turned her back towards James, allowing him to put the piece of jewelry on her. When her eyes landed on Spencer’s, she offered him a wide grin, which he weirdly didn’t reciprocate. Y/N wanted to walk up to him and ask what was wrong, but James quickly twirled her into a dance.
“I’m gonna go talk to Spence,” she told her fiancé.
James grasped her tighter against him. “Let him be, baby.”
The venom in his words and tone was quickly detected by the ever-perceptive best friend of the BAU’s resident genius. After years of following Spencer’s adventures at the BAU and hearing all about his cases and how he helped them get solved, y/n got familiar with a few profiling skills.
She grabbed his hands and pried him off her. “I’m gonna talk to Spence,” she said a little more determinedly before turning on her heel and making her way over to the bar where Spencer was removing himself from.
It looked as though he was leaving.
“Hey, where you going? I haven’t danced with you yet,” she said, almost carefully.
Spencer offered her a soft smile as he stuffed his hands into his pockets. “I-I’m a little tired. I think I’m gonna head home.” His eyes darted towards something behind her, the fire behind them prominent enough for y/n to notice.
“What?” She almost whined. “Spence, this is my bachelorette party and I wanna celebrate that with you.”
He simply shook his head. “I can’t be here and celebrate you tying the knot with someone who doesn’t even love you.” His voice was leveled, not once did the volume of his voice increase. It was steady, determined, just loud enough for her to hear over the music.
“Spence…”
“Y/N, I saw him today. He was making out with one of your bridesmaids behind the hotel. I didn’t want to say anything because who’s gonna believe the guy that’s been in love with you since forever and has actively tried to talk you out of dating him because he doesn’t like James?” The words rolled out of him like a fast train making its way to its next station.
“Spence…” she tried again, her voice nothing more than a whisper.
Though she did catch his declaration of love, her mind was spinning over the fact that he had seen her fiance kissing one of the bridesmaids. The two pieces of information clashed together and simultaneously chased one another in her mind that she didn’t know which to react to first.
“I know I’m supposed to be your best friend, y/n. But how am I supposed to support this marriage?” he said gently, not noticing how y/n’s head was spinning and she wasn’t paying much attention anymore. “I-I just… I’m sorry…”
He offered her an apologetic smile before turning on his heel and leaving her alone. With her mind going at a hundred miles an hour, y/n turned back to the party. James was gone. Spencer had left. And for some reason, she didn’t recognize anyone else.
“Hey, you doing okay?” asked Emily when she found the bachelorette in a daze in the middle of the dancefloor. But before y/n could answer the brunette, Emily was taken into the circle that twirled around y/n again.
It was the perfect metaphor for how her mind was spinning right now. She tried to keep up with the inner circle that was James making out with another woman. It made her wonder how many times he had done that before tonight. While she also couldn’t ignore the outer circle; Spencer admitted that he was in love with her. A sentiment she had shared when they were eighteen, but she ignored it since he was focussing on his third pHd and she didn’t want to be a distraction.
Conversations overlapped, faces faded in and out of her peripheral vision.
Then suddenly, everything came to a halt and she blacked out.
The inner circle – Emily, Penelope, JJ, her sister and her best friend, along with James’ brother and best friend – rushed over towards her to get her to wake up while the outer circle fawned over her as well.
“Give her some space!” Penelope shouted and started pushing people back, James’ brother doing the same. “Boy genius!” she called when her eyes landed on Spencer, who had rushed back when he heard the commotion.
“What happened?” he asked, kneeling down next to her and propping her head up.
“I-I don’t know,” JJ answered. “She was dancing and suddenly she collapsed.”
Emily shook her head. “She wasn’t dancing though. Something was wrong with her. She looked distraught, confused… Something was going on in her head…”
Spencer felt guilty. Him telling her about James being unfaithful towards her might’ve overwhelmed her. He should’ve just kept his mouth shut, but then she would’ve just walked right into her own unhappiness. She would’ve found out about James one way or another anyway.
Her eyes fluttered open and though her eyesight was still a little fuzzy, she could make out the familiar features of her best friend’s sharp face and plump lips. A tender smile crept onto her face. “Spence,” she whispered.
“Yeah, I’m here, y/n/n. Are you okay? You wanna try sitting up?” She nodded her head carefully as he helped her sit up, using his body for her to lean into for support. “You doing okay?”
She looked at him, her eyes getting used to the darkness. “Yeah, I–” she stopped and looked around. “Where’s James?”
Spencer almost felt disappointed she was still asking after him but y/n had another idea. When she looked at James’ brother and best friend and noticed how their expressions had changed from worried to guilty, she knew enough.
The girl wriggled the engagement ring off her finger and handed it to James’ brother. “Go get your brother and get him home. Tell him to come pick up his stuff tomorrow and to never, ever call me again.” She got up from the ground, using Spencer to lift herself to her feet. “Everyone else, leave.”
As Penelope, JJ and Emily tried turning on their heels too, she stopped all three of them. They looked at her with an incredulous look, confused about why the bachelorette wanted them to stay.
“Since you helped set this up, we might as well enjoy it… Call Morgan, Rossi and Hotch, too. We can’t let a good party go to waste.”
Everyone filed out of the party, confused murmurs floating through the night sky. Y/N took this opportunity to turn to Spencer, her best friend since forever. Suddenly, she saw that eighteen-year-old she fell in love with before her. The honey eyes, the plump lips, the long curls. All of it reminded her of the pure bliss she felt whenever she was with him.
It was something she had never really felt with James.
“You were right,” she told him. “I-I should’ve listened to you before when you said you didn’t like him. I should’ve walked out on him when he told me he wanted to be with me forever after week two.” A soft chuckle left her lips.
“You couldn’t have known, y/n/n.”
Placing a hand on his cheek, she pulled herself closer towards him. “What I do know is that you’re the one who’s always been there for me. You were there for everything. The good, the bad, my ugly braces-and-zits phase when I was fourteen,” she grimaced at the memory, causing Spencer to let out a laugh, too.
“I thought you looked cute with your colorful braces,” Spencer cooed bashfully and y/n positively melted.
“You, Spencer Reid, are the fortune at the end of the rainbow. You help me chase the shadow away. And I–I love you. I don’t think the crush I had on you when we were eighteen was ever gone.”
His eyes widened in surprise. “Y-you had a crush on me?”
“Very much so.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?”
Her arms wrapped around his neck while his snaked around her waist. There was a boost of confidence that guided him, something that y/n had never seen in him before but she very much liked it.
“PHD number three,” she muttered with a shrug. “And after that, you were busy with the FBI academy and then came the BAU, so I just… Left my feelings for what they were…” She let out a deep sigh. “But I can’t keep it in anymore, Spence. Maybe it’s your confession earlier or the realization James has been cheating on me on the down-low, but something re-sparked these feelings or something. So, I–”
Spencer shut her up. He shut her up by crashing his lips to hers, surprising her with a long-awaited kiss. At first, she was surprised, but it didn’t take her long to figure out what was happening and melting into him.
“Gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight!” the speakers blasted, louder than before, and it startled the couple. When the two broke apart from their entanglement, they found Spencer’s co-workers and y/n’s sister staring at them with wide grins on their faces.
Derek, Aaron and David had arrived while Spencer and y/n were focused on each other and now all of them just wanted to party.
David rose a glass to the sky. “To Spencer and Y/N,” he said whilst Penelope handed y/n and Spencer their own drinks so they could join in the celebration.
“And to bachelorette parties being hijacked by the BAU,” y/n’s sister called out, earning a confused glare from the others. “What? I don’t like her co-workers.”
A collective laugh filled the night sky, giving the starting shot for their own party. This time around, Spencer did dance with y/n. In fact, he kept her so close at all times that Penelope and JJ had to pry him off her just so they could have a dance with y/n.
Life often threw a curveball, though this one was her favorite of all time.
As many times as y/n had sung along to the song, life finally gave her a man after midnight.

Hello! I saw you mention Childe in labyrinth warriors (hope that’s the right name) when talking about the 4.6 appearance, can I ask you about your thoughts on him there? I didn’t get to play that event- so what I know about it is spotty at best. Just that it’s in Inazuma, had Xinyan I think? And that Childe was there. And the little paper dude. I’m genuinely curious about what insights you gained from the event into his character- and I’d love to hear you talk about Childe more.
(can you believe. when i say. now that im finishing this up. that it got out of hand anon??? uhhhhhhhhhhhh. i mean. at this point this should be expected)
hi!!!! sorry this took a bit, ive been somewhat sick all week and also just now absorbed by the nuzlocke im doing but Anyway. am here now thank you sm for the ask and enabling childe thoughts!!!!!
. readmore bc this Actually got just. unbearably long otherwise JIWDJDWJKDJKWWJDK 😭😭😭😭
so the outline is basically as u said, but like. to summarize it w some particular details mentioned since they Do matter (sorry it got giga fucking long bc i think the full context is helpful for discussing childes parts too lmao). but here goes:
so a mysterious domain has appeared out of thin air on narukami island with monsters spewing out from within into the countryside. now this is an Issue (TM) bc timeline-wise this is still v much the immediate aftermath of the inazuma AQ and the civil war - the nation & esp the tenryo commission rly isnt in ideal shape resource and manpower wise to deal w another crisis like this and it has sara rightfully tense after the initial waves of the monsters were finally forced back. she kinda cant afford to send her men to scout inside the domain (it also kinda. opens and closes and reopens at random which is another issue for potential scouts) but if nothing is done to stop the monsters she must commit to a full on assault to destroy the domain to remove the threat & shes more or less on a timer with that. making it quite the precarious situation for her politically too and not just security wise. (keep this in mind)
how we end up being asked to investigate the place has to do w the. im ngl p convoluted xinyan b plot basically she was invited to a music festival as a performer but it was cancelled so now she lacks the travel permits she needs and getting new ones is Not fast without some inside help. we agree to look for sara so she could argue xinyans case, run into her dilemma w the domain and she agrees to expedit the process if we investigate the place in her forces' stead. (xinyan the civilian tags along for some reason too)
first time u go in, u find the paper dude (kind of an enchanted paper familiar of sorts) aka shiki taishou outside who has lost his memory yet is undoubtedly connected to the domain which is obviously a bit suspicious given the whole. monster spewing into the neighborhood deal. but idk she passes xinyans music vibe check so she argues we should help him recover his memories and in turn discover the truth of the domain along the way.
once we get inside the domain we obviously run into mr. worldwide himself including but not limited to a closeup of his crotch during his introduction for some reason. yeah its been nearly 3 years these things you cant unsee. that and the sending us sausage in his bday mail. like bruh
now childes (as he eventually divulges) in inazuma to look for traces of scara who ran off w the gnosis and happened to stumble into this strange domain with weird vibes. he thought it might be something relevant and waltzed in, proceeded to get locked inside (as the domain shifted) and beat the shit out of all the monsters there all the while having the time of his life bc hes simply built different. bc turns out the place is basically just a full-on sparring simulator for warriors that seems to be running by itself w no one overseeing it ever since the domain resurfaced cue the "pratice targets" aka monsters running wild
dont wanna recap the entire thing in detail but basically. firstly childe kinda improvs another new identity as an adventurer noticing xinyans liyuen attire bc Osial Incident and picking up the awkward energy we have at the realization of. this might be messy if we tell her. and xinyan buys it and nicknames him "red" w/e. so thats why the harbinger thing doesnt become a bigger conflict
he then informs us that all the monsters within the domain turn into torn paper charms when destroyed and that there are "replicas" of shiki taishou strewn about the domain that should restore his power and hopefully memories over time.
so we end up going thru the place helping shiki taishou gather his power and uncover the nature of the place. he kind of has an identity crisis happening bc all the monsters the place is generating seem to imply he was created for some nefarious purpose as a weapon of some sorts (childe says some Very Interesting Things in response as an attempt at pep talk. will get to it).
but TLDR what we do discover is actually that the shikigami/paper magic and the domains functions were basically a system invented after the domains creator harunosuke studied similar adeptal techniques in liyue in order to create the shikigami as these battle partners for samurai fighting against monsters from the cataclysm. these paper dolls could then record and replicate the monsters it and its partner fought in order to train others inside the domain so that inazumas protectors would always be ready to face such a threat if it ever came to be. shiki taishou was created as the "overseer" of this domain and its functions as a training facicility. by regaining his memories and finding clarity in his purpose shiki taishou gains control over the place again and is able to shut down its rogue functions so that it no longer poses a threat. he then promises to improve upon its workings by taking it to dormancy again. sara is relieved that the crisis could be averted without costing her manpower or further resources she doesnt have. yippee
So. yeah that took way too long mb jdwhjwdjdwadwaj but. Childe.
so there are a particular standouts in here in my opinion.
for one that is less like. a characterization aspect but more of a "gotcha" confirmation thats very nice to have is that he explicitly confirms that wherever in the abyss he spent those 3 months at 14, it DID involve places tied to the irminsul and its roots.
fissures between great tree roots u say?????? Inch resting ajax. tell me more abt the trees king.
also this monologue is literally so fucking sexy in general i love his single-minded pursuit of something as like. quintessentially simple as just. Improvement. but bc he has literally 0 fucking chill in his boundless hunger for that one singular ambition it alone is enough to disrupt the gravity of the world around him....... (but we will get to that)
Anyway. another Very good fucking moment from him character-wise is during the 2nd act. where weve spoken w sara about the tense situation after the 1st day of investigation ended w all of us minus childe (who got "trapped" inside the same way a child gets "trapped" inside a free-for-all candy store with all amenities included. he had a blast) getting thrown out and the domain rearranging itself again. and like we go back in once the entrance opens and are even more eager and restless to start figuring things out bc again. sara is on a timer.
and then .
guys im pretty sure theres a twitch emote for this???? something starting with C and ending with AUGHT?
LMAOOOOOO
he reads the shit out of us trying to all "subtly" push for the investigation to proceed so the crisis we are actually tasked to investigate can be solved. like this is literally just Actual 5d chess situational awareness and picking up cues from people around him and honing onto exactly whats stirring up in the undercurrent from childe. basically. he just lays onto us like. ah right. this is probably a big problem for that tenryo commission right? such a problem that theyd even ask an outsider to cover their duties... when thatd never happen during regular times right? a conundrum that could get even more problematic if theres a harbinger publicly around... right? oh my bad my bad haha just thinking out loud bestie lets get back to investigating shall we? hahaha
he is such a smart fucking Bastard oh my godddddd bro is out there smelling the traces of societal unrest and any and all weaknesses in a given governing structure like hes a shark tasting like 0,00000001% blood in the water . professional & supernaturally efficient problem causer everyone. this is what he was hired for . i love him
like. hes SMART guys. and hoyo Knows how to work his intelligence into the writing too its soooo scrumptious man .
and like bro hes being such a fucking menace in here too bc. he couldve kept this observation to himself too. but nooooo he just had to shove it in ur face that we are Not being as slick w keeping him in the dark as we would like to think💀💀 smug ass.
it makes me think abt how many things he actually Notices among the harbingers and all their power plays and schemes among one another but that childe simply keeps to himself bc he has nothing to gain from disproving the assumption of himself as this. gullible and simple-minded loyal warrior harbinger and the person-shaped time bomb we toss at wherever the flames of discord need some help sparking alight. after all, we saw this in arles quest too - how not only did he use our pathetic distraction attempts as an opportunity to fish relevant information on both arlecchino and pulcinella for himself (which i already commented on) but also. the fact that he Very clearly noticed our attempt at distracting her and intentionally helped us out without even knowing anything abt the matter at hand. to the point where even arle makes that Highly pointed comment about it and all but spells out that childe was assisting us on purpose the entire time.
like he is just. incredibly perceptive and so fucking intelligent like especially back in 2.2 where even Bigger of a portion of the fandom (if thats even possible) than today just thought of him as this. stupid fucking baby infant meow meow idiot brainwashed by the tsaritsa and completely owned by zhongli and signora XDDDDDD . seeing this unfold made me so fucking happy abt the way like. yeah HOYO knows what his character is all abt. the fandom can ruin him all the want but the games story isnt going to bend to their will.
Speaking of Which.
The weapon thing.
so as ive already alluded to prior . the entirety of labyrinth warriors despite it highlighting childes intelligence, attitude, priorities and ambitions in a way thats like. genuinely so fucking good and comes off as natural with no forced sounding exposition or backstory dump . mostly got a fan reception more in the way of . waa waa my baby boy is depressed with sigma PTSD 3.0 with DLC because calling yourself a weapon is self dehumanization and it signals he is suicidal and has no self worth 🥺🥺🥺🥺 he got TRAPPED in the EVIL DOMAIN consisting EXCLUSIVELY of all his favorite activities nonstop he must be feeling so scared i need to hug him my babygirl!!!!!!!!!11!1!1
when its like. ah yes. i have never heard of a motif ever before.
bc like as much as i do genuinely consider it something that more or less can be taken at face value as an Aspect of who childe is (not necessarily the whole of it, just another mask true to a part of his self) . it should still be acknowledge that part of the reason why his dialogue (and the event in general) fixates on the notion of being a "weapon" has to do with shiki taishous character arc.
because thats what he is. and is trying to discover what kind of purpose a discarded (bc harunosuke left the domain abandoned at the end) weapon and tool like himself can even have anymore. and childes lines taking that repeated emphasis of. whats so bad about being a WeaponTM (& expanding on what that means for Him) specifically . are as much about himself as they are just an attempt to communicate his worldview to shiki taishou as a way of pushing him towards solving this identity crisis he has . that paper boy literally Needs to solve in order for the domain to stop malfunctioning.
and like. okay even if we just look at it w/o paper boy. so say childe considers himself a weapon . but what does that mean to him?
[incoming top 5 dialogue lines that genuinely fucking challenge my sexuality this is so fucking hot. no one talk to me]
"Only those that wish for an end will find one."????????
"My limits vanish behind the horizon with every step I take"??????
FUCK OFF OH MY GODDDD
like people think of childe as this fatalistic if not actively suicidal then at least like passively reckless and uncaring towards his own wellbeing blood knight w low self esteem barreling towards his death and here he is. using his own fucking words. saying that the mere CONCEPT of an END. is not in his fucking VOCABULARY. because it does not serve his ambition to let such confusions ever obstruct his sights.
people think his purpose and ambition is soooo tied to his family tied to the tsaritsa that if those are ever taken away he will just freefall into the depths of directionless confusion and depression and whatever. when.
Here he is. giving a fucking pep talk to a DISCARDED WEAPON THAT HAS LOST HIS PURPOSE. EXCEPT HE KINDA JUST SAYS ITS A SKILL ISSUE TO EVEN NEED TO CONSIDER AN END TO YOUR PATH (hes silly like that). AS AN UNSTOPPABLE FORCE OF NATURE. A WEAPON THAT CUTS ANYTHING.
oh hey thats funny now where have i heard that before. bonjour my baguettes any fontainian cults or god kings out there interested in the world and fate altering power of unstoppable weapons that can cut into anything even ego and destiny itself and whatever that may mean?????? O____o
i swear to fucking god if the entire time this entire weapon allegory from labyrinth warriors was all about all cleverly n loosely associating him with themes relating to descenders and wills that rival the world all the way back in 2.2. and yet on release all people wanted was to weep for how sad it was he thought himself a weapon. man why is it always like this . i weep for THAT.
like. idk i dont have anything poetic to say abt it other than childes drive as an individual is just fucking breathtaking to me??? its literally Scary how utterly consumed he is by that ambition yet at the same theres this . crystalline clarity he has towards viewing it and himself ?? this weird ass self awareness that coexists with the all-consuming pursuit and ambition of it all??? this isnt sad this is both ridiculously attractive AND batshit insane like dudeeee . and like . the way he talks about it too like this is just a matter of fact everyday thing to him 💀💀 bc thats his abyss shrimp color vision this is how he rolls . its nothing grandiose its just how he is . this is normal to him its unbearable i hate him
like somewhat unrelated here (sorry) but sometimes i see ppl go against the possibility of childe having sth to do w the 3rd descender (which like yes is a crack theory for now and its not sth i can fully align myself with either as of rn Due To Those Thematic Clashes it just lives rent free Because of how conflictingly insane it is while also having some Strangely compelling evidence in its favor) or even just. Any higher predestined significance assigned to him in the grand scheme of things with the sole argument of like . but then everything about Him is worthless bc it wasnt His ambition and His drive to overthrow the world he wasnt Just A Guy (and. sigh. as the op. of that ancient thing. stop taking that old ass hastily typed post too far and too literally thx. its abt the vibe the attitude the subversion. having a destined purpose if the story handles it well does not conflict w being the quintessential just a guy thanks xx). he was just special all along so it all means Nothing and its like. dude. he told a recently-amnesiac paper boy having an identity crisis that its a fucking skill issue to ever falter in the face of some greater purpose haunting in your past or defining your origins. that a True weapon cuts himself free of even that without even a sliver of hesitation . ppl think that if indeed some soul of the 3rd descender is resurrected in story and idk tries taking over his body with past lives and memories or whatever. you think he isnt ripping the essence and existence of that poor fucking dude apart and devouring him alive into the crushing depths of the black hole of an unquechable ambition that beats a steady pulse at His core just to reclaim HIS place as the ultimate weapon to cut through everything???????
aww thats so cute. you guys think even the hypothetical of theories akin to these being legit on some level is automatically going to ruin his arc and character bc hes gonna be taking it lying down!!!!! you think hes going to look at a Grand destiny Assigned to him by someone Outside and Above and not spit in its face!!!
just like his narwhal looked at the destined cosmic end of All life to fall to ruin and immediately devoted its entire existence to denying the universe that very outcome isnt that curious why are they the sam---------------SORRY SORRY where was i at
like. i see how it is for yall. well. myself on the other hand. i have some fucking faith in him lmao
partially . indeed Because. i read the goddamn text of labyrinth warriors. where they let him Talk about what these things mean to him. and how he Truly isnt about to stop. Ever. hes not looking for an end and if presented with one he sure isnt about to respect it. hes just. built different its absolutely amazing
and yeah my bad i got. sidetracked very badly there. you asked me abt labyrinth warriors but bc its childe this is just what tends to happen like my brain fucking spirals. but like . no im not saying that the weapon theme being such a prevalent aspect in the story is like 100% a descender and sword of narzissenkreuz thematic parallel and intentional reference i just think its Quite interesting in hindsight . that This is the angle they drilled in on .
anyway hopefully this at least had Something to illustrate abt why i love labyrinth warriors for how it serves to establish how much of a madman childe ajax tartaglia my beloved truly is . and how to hoyo his outlook towards the world has very much been one of endless limitless hunger and never-sated ambition . and not whatever fanon wants to cook up. childes greatest enemy has always been stagnation and he has always looked towards the Future. of surpassing each and every limit and boundary on his path . like thats what makes him who he is.
also. last lil thing aka. Most Ignored Canon Line Spoken By This Man
which is a shame bc. its so fucking interesting??? i mean. i get that ppl dont know what to make of it bc everyones so fixated on picturing childe as this loyal puppy tsaritsa fanboy who couldnt even deign to imagine discarding allegiances to anyone yet here he is. saying exactly that.
like ive seen ppl be like oh hes trying to Convince himself of this!!!! hes putting up an act!!!!! and its like? no? i dont think this contradicts anything about his character. people just find it uncomfortable because it implies that the things he listed there are not something of any Inherent value to him. which adds up perfectly fine to me but what do i know.
like the way i have always seen this is that it really isnt. oh childe says he isnt actually a loyal person When it matters to him personally and isnt actually invested in fulfilling his duty (as of Right Now, mind you) which would yes seemingly contradict a lot of other things. but really its just that those concepts alone are void to him. you cant stop him from pursuing his ambition by saying its evil. if the tsaritsa ever truly loses his respect and leaves him completely disillusioned in the archon that once was a fellow honorable warrior in his eyes, the concept of "allegiance" will not be able to dissuade him from turning that burning ambition of toppling the heavens towards her throne too. personal respect maybe. a sense of honor. maybe even disdain so extreme that even investing that time into her now is a waste? sure. but like. you get what im trying at? he is way more ambivalent about these things than most people really Want him to be. bc they dont fulfill the hunger that burns at his core.
and it adds up. bc like. his ambition his drive towards battle and bettering himself and becoming a weapon completely unstoppable and irreplaceable that can conquer the world . is his north star. its the singularity that all else about him orbits around. of course silly little concepts like right and wrong will be secondary to that. we just really havent seen a moment where his ambition is in true conflict with the bonds and oaths he has sworn in his current life. but i have a feeling that if and when we do. this line will make a lot more sense lmao
anyway uhhhhhhh
yeah i liked labyrinth warriors!!! very underacknowledged and misrepresented event that had a ton of fun stuff abt childe. i am super normal about these hip and enjoyable aspects of his character as they are explored within this event as the length and contents of this post imply!!!!
omg anon i. really fucking hope u got at least Something u were looking for out of all this KWJKJKDWWJKDWJKDJKWDK i swearrr i just cannot. stop myself from completely fucking losing it on the asks of every innocent anon (and like non anon too why not) approaching my ask box 😭😭
but thank you again for sending this in!!!!!! have a nice day!!!! im very normal thanks for asking!!!!!
#Deep sigh. Yeah name a more iconic duo than me answering an ask and shit getting completely out of hand. ill wait#well maybe years down the line therell be enough of this bullshit from me that i can make a bingo card#'Jen Goes Insane About Childe Ajax Tartaglia And/Or Narwhal: Anon Was Innocent Edition'#it could be a wholesome group activity!#jdajklwdjwdjwdjkdjkwjkdjkdjkwjkdwjk#well this is . a something . im going to run away now#genshin#asks#childeposting

Silver Kingdom Pastry / Faerie Pastry AU
Also known as 'The Silverless Faerie'
Just nutshell summary:
An AU where Pastry runs away from the St.Pastry Order and find herself in the Faerie Kingdom where she becomes a citzen of the kingdom as well swear an oath to Elder Faerie to protect him and the seal after learning about the Beasts from him.
Then swearing an oath to White Lily Cookie during the events of Beast yeast Episode 1+2
-----
I'm going to put more information down under read more because this AU been bouncing in my head and I really want to do work on this Au + even write a few drabbles for it.
More detail information:
After learning the truth about the Witches at the Tower of Sweet Chaos; Pastry runs away from the St.Pastry Order and ends up in Beast Yeast in hopes that the Order wouldn't follow her across the island.
At some point; Pastry ends up in the Faerie Kingdom after Silverbell Cookie discovered her passed out in the forest with a high fever during a patrol. Being confused and panicking on the inside; Pastry tries to leave the room that she woke up in to only find her body protesting as she's still suffering from a fever.
It doesn't take long for a faerie cookie walks in and spots that she is wake; the faerie cookie gives Pastry some soup and medicine, not answering any question Pastry has before leaving despite Pastry's demand for the cookie to stay and answer her questions.
Questions that would soon be answered when Elder Faerie walks into the room whom was informed by the faerie cookie that Pastry has finally woken up after three days of discovering her in the forest.
Elder Faerie answer most of Pastry's questions (where she is, what happened and who he is.) in return for Pastry answering some of his questions (Who she is and what she was doing in the forest in the first place but doesn't reveal she ran away from the Order or what she discovered about the Witches and White Lily.).
Afterwards; Elder Faerie allows Pastry to stay in the kingdom so that she can find a new purpose in her life after she recovered from her fever and her revealing she doesn't know what to do.
During this time, Pastry got to know the faerie cookies including Silverbell Cookie and Mercurial Knight Cookie; the latter of which she becomes best friends as they both had similar connections (both of them gave up their flavour + name for a purpose.)
She also discovered that White Lily Cookie is regarded as a hero in the kingdom as well as her body, which confused her since she saw White Lily got rebaked into Dark Enchantress Cookie.
Once she discovered White Lily's body; Pastry goes to Elder Faerie to confront him about it; fearing that she's being trick somehow again.
She reveals she knows what happened to White Lily to Elder Faerie and the actual reason why she was in the forest in the first place (her running away from the Order), including how she witness what happened on the Night of the Witches (cookies being eaten alive and White Lily being rebaked.)
After getting over the shock and horror that Pastry described to him; Elder Faerie comfort Pastry before explaining how the world isn't black and white as he tells her the story about the five Beasts whom would have destroyed Earthbread if the Witches didn't seal them away for their crimes.
Elder Faerie then tells Pastry to think over about it and allow her to come to her own conclusion, as he doesn't want to influence her and want her to walk down her own path of freedom and truth.
It takes a few days, however, Pastry finally able to accept the truth as well, swearing an oath to Elder Faerie to protect him and the seal so that the Beasts Cookie doesn't get released into the world.
Some time pass and that's when Pure Vanilla + the group shows up. Pastry just lingered on the side, mainly keeping to herself, and follow the group.
That's when all hell breaks loose, considering the seal broke and Shadow Milk Cookie is released. Pastry helps the group out and assisting them to the best of her abilities.
When Elder Faerie Cookie dies; Pastry becomes upset however doesn't cry since they still need to take care of Shadow Milk thus shove her grief to the side and allow her angry to fuel her to keep going.
She quickly tells White Lily Cookie that she will protect her since she is the new guardian.
Pastry doesn't get captured by Shadow Milk when Shadow Milk capture some of the group for the final round. When arriving at the final confrontation with the jester; Pastry tries to encourage White Lily Cookie to fight Shadow Milk Cookie as Earthbread would be doom if the jester wins.
White Lily Cookies seals Shadow Milk Cookie which Pastry is happy about.
In the aftermath; Pastry goes to the side so that she can finally grieve over the loss of Elder Faerie Cookie due to the fact that she saw him as a father figure and a positive influence on her life (especially since she was mainly surrounded by negative influence before meeting him.)
She still attends to the feast since the feast is in honour of Elder Faerie despite the fact she wants to be alone since she doesn't want to dishonour Elder Faerie's memories.
There's also a bitter side as she wished Elder Faerie didn't die in the first place, however she doesn't blame Pure Vanilla, White Lily or anyone in the group since she knows it's not their fault but instead blames Shadow Milk and Dark Enchantress (the latter breaking the seal in the first place which allows Shadow Milk to escape in the first place.)
Afterwards, Pastry swear an oath on her life and fork that she will protect White Lily Cookie since she is the new Guardian, and she wants to ensure that the seal doesn't get broken again or fight against the Beasts to the bitter ends if they do get out again.
Even despite not feeling ready for an adventure; Pastry will follow the group due to the oath she swore to White Lily as she doesn't want to break the oath that she made.

Okay so I saw art on here the other day of Deku leaning over a casket with bakugou in it, in his hero uniform. And it inspired this fic. I wrote this in like an hour - it’s not edited, sorry.
FOUND THE ART - beautiful bkdk art by Bleedingivorydraws
You can also blame @z-mizcellaneous-z because we had a quick little idea abt a super angsty fic so they put me in the mood. *no worries bestie! I’m just joking around. I love you! /plat and I’m kinda thankful for getting this out!
Also, please get tissues ready when reading this cuz I fucking was sobbing writing it.
Still The Wonder Duo
“Remember when we were little and we had planned to become heroes together? We would play heroes all day long. You’d always wanna be All Might and you would let me be All Might too. It was nice when we would switch who was All Might. But even on days when I was All Might I still looked at you; still followed your lead. You were my hero even then. You were so overwhelming to watch, but I could never look away.
“I remember when we got our All Might trading cards too. I was so happy we’d gotten the same one. I knew we’d be together forever because that’s how little kids' brains work. We got the same card at the same time and it proved that destiny was real.”
Izuku sniffles and eyes shift to the card currently laying visible under black and orange gloved hands. Izuku’s own hands cover a majority of them and he can barely see the blood on the corner.
“Destiny is a bitch.” He whispers to himself and shakes his head trying to quell the still steady flowing tears down his cheeks. “You think you’ll get All Might to sign it wherever you both go? You know he will.”
Deku swallows tightly, lump in his throat, but he refuses to start sobbing. He needs to have clear enough eyes right now. Needs to keep soaking in blonde hair, the angles of pale skin, the new scar covering the right side of a face he’s known since they were children. Take in the sharp point of a nose and the curve of lips he’s only recently discovered the taste of; he reaches to cradle the cool sharp jaw of his childhood best friend in his palm. His other hand grips tightly to black and orange gloves, placed over a nonmoving stomach.
“We didn’t even get to go on a date yet.” He wishes red eyes would snap open at this confession and Kacchan would glare at him tightly and grumble: “all the good places got destroyed, shitty nerd. But let’s ditch these fuckers and i’lll make something back at the dorms before the extras show up and ruin it”.
Izuku would have laughed and used OFA to get them back to the dorms. They’d get to the kitchen and Kacchan would have him start cutting vegetables for whatever meal he’d make for him. And then yell at Deku when he didn’t like the cuts he’d make. He imagines Kacchan would wrap his arms around him, hands placed over his own to guide him in a demonstration of proper cutting and chopping techniques. And once Izuku would have completed his task he’d have sat on the counter next to the stove while Kacchan cooked for them - stealing as many kisses as he could. Then they’d move to eat at the island, ankles wrapped around the other. He’d try to steal Kacchan’s food, and they’d argue that it was the same food in each bowl. But Izuku would want Kacchan’s because Kacchan’s food was always better. He’d have those wonderful, bright, red eyes on him again. He’d have been happy just to see the intensity of Kacchan’s eyes bare into his soul for one last time. He would have -
“Kacchan - ” Izuku chokes on his next breath, because its a vision of a life they won’t have anymore. One he’ll never have again. Because the person he’s supposed to share his life with is lying before him in a casket. For someone so lively in life it's terrifying and wrong to see him so still. “Kacchan - “ He chokes again, chest tight and constricting. The tears are coming in stronger.
He rests his chin on his bicep. It’s an awkward angle, but he needs to be able to breathe in the caramel, smoke and sweat of Kacchan’s orange jacket without moving his eyes away from his face.
Izuku had been sitting outside the dorms with Kacchan, enjoying one of the last nights before they were sent out to fight. The late may nighttime air had turned chilly and Izuku had just about to suggest they head inside when Kacchan shucked off his favorite orange jacket and draped it over Izuku’s visibly shivering shoulders.
“But what about you?” He’d asked.
Kacchan had shrugged, “I run hot,”
Izuku hid a smile into the collar and breathed in deep. “Kacchan gave me his jacket.”
“Yeah, well,” He’d rolled his eyes, like it didn’t matter but Izuku could just make out a blush across Kacchan’s cheeks, “Don’t expect it everytime, Deku.”
“Okay.” He giggled into the coat.
Kacchan had rolled his eyes again, then lifted his nearest arm. Deku had taken the invitation and scooted the half a foot over to curl up into Kacchan’s chest.
“After all this is over, I’m going to date you so damn hard.”
“You can’t make dating into a competition, Kacchan?”
“Fucking watch me.”
“I already do.”
Kacchan had huffed in embarrassment, but Izuku knew he liked it. He shifted up in his hold and kissed what he could reach - the edge of Kacchan’s jaw. Kacchan of course didn’t think that was enough and had turned his head to press his lips firmly to Izuku’s. Izuku had felt like he was in heaven; the happiest he’d felt in a long time.
Now he’s struggling to find those kernels of happiness as the body under his hands remains cold.
“I wish giving you your jacket back would make you warm again. But I know your pride won’t let you take it back.”
Izuku stares at Katsuki Bakugou and studies his features till his breathing has returned to a relatively normal pace and the tears are no longer destroying his image of victory.
He doesn’t know how long he sits there.
But he knows it’s not long enough.
“Izuku,” A hand appears on his shoulder and Deku jumps and turns to look into a grey and blue eye. Shoto. Next to him stands Kirishima, his own red eyes - not the red that Izuku is desperate to see though - are filled with unshed tears. “It’s time to go, Izuku.”
Fear rises up quickly in his chest and he chokes once more on his breath, “What?” He turns to look at Kacchan, waiting to see an eyes roll and for him to tell them both to ‘fuck off’ till he was ready. But all that remains is a peacefully blank expression. “But… but…” He can feel the panic rise, “It hasn’t been long enough. We only just got here… we can’t…”
“Izuku,” Shoto squeezes his shoulder, “It’s been 5 hours.”
“NO.” Izuku shakes his head. He can’t look away from Kacchan. He has to be with him. Screw Kacchan’s pride, Izuku will walk with him till they get to his resting place. “No, it’s not time. I can’t leave him.”
“We have to go, Midobro.” Kirishima sniffles. “They have to take him back.”
“They can’t have him,” He growls and shoots his friends a glare so sharp he sees them take a tentative step back. Good. His eyes go back to Kacchan.
He hears shifting next to him, Shoto’s hands leave his shoulders; but he doesn’t look away. Trying to memorize blonde hair and how it sits just so, the way it felt to hold Kacchan’s cheek, the arch of eyebrows when doing something stupid, the way pink would tinge across his nose when Izuku would stare too long. He wants to see it now.
“Midoriya, It’s time to go.” A new voice says.
“No.”
“Midoriya, I will lift you out of here. Let’s not make a scene.”
“I don’t care. I can’t just leave him. He promised.”
“Promised what?”
Izuku can feel the tears welling up again, throat tightening and his words are voiced just above a whisper, “That we’d do this together. Side by side. He promised.”
“Okay, okay.” The new voice soothes, “He will always be with you. No matter what. He’ still with you, tied to your soul. So it’s okay to leave; because he has never left you.”
Izuku is surprised at the words and turns to look to his left to see Aizawa-sensei squatting near his knee. His eyes are red and not from quirk use. They shine like he just put eye drops in. “Sensei,” Izuku whispers.
“Come on, Midoriya. One more goodbye.”
Izuku gasps and turns back to Kacchan. Goodbye? No. no no no no no. he can’t say goodbye. It’s not time yet. They stil have so much they need to do.
He didn’t realize he was shaking his head and muttering until Aizawa places a hand on his knee, “You have to. It’s time.”
“NO!” He shouts. He can’t he can’t he can’t he can’t -
“We can do this the hard way or you can walk out of here on your own.”
He doesn’t remember what he answers, just tries to touch Kacchan one more time. Maybe he tried to wake him? Maybe he tried to kiss ice cold lips one last time. Tries to run his fingers through golden hair onc last time. But one second he’s sitting and the other he’s benign held tight to Aizawa’s chest and carried away from Kacchan.
“Kacchan!!” He screeches, tyring to see past Aizawa’s shoulder. “NO! No you can’t make me leave him! He can’t leave yet!!”
He tries to push away, but he’d been pretty week from the fighting and hadn’t been eating much since the final battle. He was weak. Kacchan would be so mad at him. Well he’s mad at him too.
“YOU PROMISED!” He yells, tears are flowing freely now, blurring his vision, “You fucking promised we do this together! You’re not allowed to leave me! You hear me! Please!!”
They’re getting further away, kacchan drifting farther away from him. He can make out other people on the edge of his peripheral; but they don’t matter. No else matter right now..
“Take me back! You can’t leave me! Kacchan please! Please please please! You’re mine they can’t have you!”
He cries and tries to escape Aizawa’s hold but his hold is too tight. Izuku gets one last glance at Kacchan’s bright blonde hair and fitted in his hero suit - looking as gorgeous as ever. As beautiful as he should be as Izuku’s symbol of victory. And then they turn a corner and he’s gone.
“NO!” He screeches once more, “Kacchan! Kacchan Kacchan Kacchan - “ He cries. He sobs. He can’t do this without him. It hurts without him. They were supposed to do this together.
“It’s going to be okay, Midoriya. It’s going to be okay.” Aizawa tries to soothe him.
“Kacchan - “ Izuku sobs into his Sensei’s shoulder. He can only say the name of his future. He thinks of what could have been. Sobs for the person who should be holding him currently. Sobs for his closest person. Sobs for a boy who was gone too soon; for a boy who was only just coming into himself.
Izuku passes out against Aizawa’s shoulder, Kacchan’s name on his lips.

beta testing
Peter presented as an alpha when he was seventeen. Tony had whisked him and his aunt away to a trip to Maldives as soon as Peter's rut was over, to celebrate. Presentation was like turning twenty-one; Peter had tried to convince his aunt to let him drink a little, but he was still one-year off from the drinking age on the islands.
That was two years ago. Since then, Tony has managed to destroy his life in most ways, save the universe, rebuild his life from scratch, move to Malibu, and move back to New York. He won't pretend Peter calling him from his old lab with tears in his eyes on Christmas hadn't been a reason to return to the city.
Peter and Tony are closer than ever. Peter underestimates the strides he's made for science just by giving Tony someone to bounce off of that isn't a metal arm in a dunce cap. On his own merit, Peter is busy revolutionizing the textile industry. His webbing formula is extremely flexible, pun intended, and he's been working on a variant that could be used instead of Kevlar. Tony has the patent paperwork ready whenever Peter says the word.
MJ and May are both alphas, and Peter's friend Ted is an omega. Tony remembers the first time Peter came to the lab with scent strain -- super senses suddenly surrounded by pheromones? Recipe for disaster. "I'll be okay, Mr. Stark," Peter had said, even though his face was green. "I just, you know, need to get used to it, like before."
Tony is just a beta, much to his father's chagrin. He'd held out a hand and said, "come here, kid," with his wrist pointed upward, bare. Neutral. Just sweat and oil and cologne and whatever personal smell lies dormant on most beta's skin.
It had been the right move; Tony knew that as soon as he saw Peter's shoulders sag with relief. Peter surged forward like Tony was offering him water in the desert. Instead of scenting Tony's wrist, Peter had wrapped his fingers around Tony's wrist and used the hold to pull Tony up and out of his seat, a little closer. Buried his nose in Tony's neck, where the tie was loosened and the button of his dress shirt popped. Breathed.
Tony had let him, mostly out of shock.
But then Peter said, breathlessly, "thank you, Mr. Stark," and Tony said, predictably, "anytime, kid."
For some time just after his presentation, Peter would set his bag down and pet DUM-E on the head and pull Tony in close to clear his nose of the smog of the city and Tony thought, yeah, this is normal. It was normal because they both made it normal. If there's one thing Tony learned in his life, it's that it's only weird if you make it weird. Peter needed a palette cleanser made sense, and Tony would give Peter the whole world. What's a little scenting between friends?
The rest of Tony's friends had some things to say about it. "Watch yourself, Tones," Rhodey would tell him on the odd nights he had free to sit and watch a game and try to keep Tony from self-destructing. "You're great at managing a crisis but you've never been great at seeing them coming."
Tony wasn't worried about it. At his worst, Peter Parker was still one of the best people Tony had ever met.
This strange new tradition continued long after Peter got a handle of the rest of his new heightened senses (again) but what was Tony supposed to do when the few times Tony didn't immediately offer his hand Peter's eyes got wide and sad? What is Tony supposed to do? He's just a man.
The scenting also seems to remove whatever barrier was left between them. Peter took the opportunity to shift himself from mentee to friend as best he could, considering he was nearly thirty years Tony's junior. Tony has always been a tactile person; now, Peter felt confident returning small gestures. A clap on the shoulder, a on the hand on the hip, a tug on the sleeve. There aren't many people around who can sate Tony's need for physical connection -- there aren't many people around at all -- and if Peter needs the same thing, it works out for the best.
The touching bleeds out of the lab without Tony noticing. Peter started coming over outside of his lab days with a movie or a craving for a restaurant and Tony loves indulgence. He loves indulgence even more when they're someone else's. He took Peter to Thailand for a weekend, spent another with Peter's feet in his lap while they watched Star Trek from the pilot. He started booking larger hotel rooms when he had to travel for work and invited Peter every time. Peter never said no, but eventually Tony stopped booking the rooms with two beds.
That's another large difference, but this one Tony notices; Peter starts sharing his bed.
In an innocent way, of course. The first time they were in England and the heating was terrible and it was freezing. Peter never dealt well with the cold to begin with, and he'd looked so shy asking to sleep next to Tony. He'd smelled nearly panicked, so much so that even Tony could tell, but Tony didn't need to be an alpha or omega to tell how relieved Peter was when Tony simply rolled over and held the sheets up for Peter to crawl inside.
After all this time, Tony has finally realized that if he gives Peter an inch, Peter will take a mile.
It started in hotels, but Peter has effectively moved into the Tower since then. Even though he has his own room, decked out in everything a nerdy college student could possibly want, the bed goes mostly unused. It started with Peter bodily carrying Tony to bed when he went on a work bender and staying so Tony wouldn't sneak back to the workshop. It started with Peter knocking on Tony's door, shaking with remnant nightmares, and letting Tony pet his hair until they both fell asleep. It started with...well. Tony isn't sure when it started.
"He's already living there, isn't he?" May asked, when Tony asked permission for Peter to officially move in. "What's the difference?"
"Well, I know I'm not family--"
"--Thank god." May rolled her eyes. "I trust him with you. Why wouldn't I? It's not like you're a prowling omega in the shadows or anything."
Tony is just a beta. Alphas don't really need betas -- not the way Tony needs Peter.
It's been two years since that weekend in Maldives. Tony knows because FRIDAY had sent some of the photographs to his tablet, and with that comes the question of why Peter is in his bed and why has no one mentioned to Tony that he's in too deep?
(People have. Rhodey, for one, and then Happy, and also May Parker, albeit Tony had been uncomfortable so he hadn't really been paying attention.)
Right now, it's Pepper in the doorway, dressed tidily and sighing heavily when she opens Tony's bedroom door. She thinks Tony has bedded another pair of hot legs in heels, but Tony sees her eyes widen the moment she realizes it's Peter.
Peter is clinging to Tony, his face buried in Tony's neck, dead to the world. Despite the danger sense, Peter sleeps like the dead unless something tells him he shouldn't. Right now, Tony feels the heat of his breath against his bare skin.
"Oh, Tony," Pepper says, shaking her head. "You don't have to hide anything, you know."
"I'm not." Tony is awkwardly propped up on his pillows, the tablet settling now on Peter's back. "There's nothing going on."
"Sure." Pepper turns on her heels, flicking her ponytail over her shoulder. "Paperwork will be on the island. Tell Peter to call more often. Try not to do anything you would normally do."
"I'm just a beta!" Tony argues at her back, a loud hiss, but Peter lightly pulls out of sleep anyway. Tony stays still until Peter settles back down, the pads of Peter's fingers pressing into the dips of Tony's collarbone. "I'm just a beta."
Peter has talked about omegas almost non-stop since he went to college, mostly the pretty and talented Gwen Stacy or the pretentious Harry Osborn. For once, Tony wishes he were an omega so he could tell whether Peter was spending time with them, with anyone else. An alpha, of course, would also be able to tell, but...
Tony clears his throat.
"Good morning," Peter says, not long later. His lips press into Tony's neck like a kiss. He smells like sleep, his bare chest warm against the rucked-up tank top Tony usually wears to bed. He yawns. "Whu' time issit?"
"Late." Tony bonks Peter on the head with his tablet -- he's managed to close out two projects in the interim -- and Peter rolls onto his back with a groan. It's suddenly much colder. "Pepper wants you to call her more."
Peter freezes. "Was she here?"
"For a minute." Free of his leech, Tony throws his feet over the side of his bed and stretches, all the bones of his spine popping back into place.
"Was she..."
Tony looks at Peter over his shoulder with a questioning eyebrow.
"Was she surprised I was here?" Peter asks finally.
"No." Tony frowns. "Well, a little. You know how she is."
"That's a non-answer."
"Does it matter?"
"Did she say anything bad?"
"About you, kid?" Tony laughs, rolling his head on his neck. "Never."
When Tony goes to stand up from the bed, he feels a slight tug on the back of his shirt. Peter is leaning over, Tony's shirt in one hand, his gaze down on the covers. "Mr. Stark, I...uh."
"You can call me Tony, you know," Tony says, for the millionth time. "We've been over this."
Peter frowns, and when he looks up at Tony he's chewing his lip to shreds. "Tony..." A thick swallow. "My, uh, my rut..."
Tony jolts. "It started!?"
"No!" Peter's eyes widen, and he lets go of Tony to shake his hands frantically, no, no, no. "It's soon. Uh, maybe in two weeks or so."
Very soon. "Does your aunt know?" Ruts only happen once a year unless they're triggered by a heat, and the last one Peter spent at May's. Tony had missed him terribly. "Should we get stuff moving?"
"I was, uh..." Peter runs a hand through his hair. "She's out of town! This...uh, this whole month. I was thinking about just, you know, spending it here."
Tony frowns. "Wouldn't it be better if she was gone?"
Peter pales. "No," he says. "I will not elaborate. And uh, can I have it here?"
Tony pauses. There's no...there's no reason Peter can't have it here. Tony can't smell the rut scent, and there's plenty of room. Peter's guest room is still there, although most of his clothes and personal items are strewn about Tony's room. But Tony can hear just as well as anyone else, and the idea of Peter going through a rut only a few rooms away is...
Peter is already rambling. "My ruts really aren't that bad, you know? Because of the spider bite, like. You'd think it'd be worse because everything is, just, more but I don't know. It's like I'm so used to being overwhelmed and controlling myself, it's really not bad? And it's even better when I have a, um, a partner."
"A partner?" Tony balks. "You want...a partner? For your rut?"
"Uh." Peter blushes, pressing his lips together. "Yeah."
Tony sits on the thought and finds it rather sour. He licks his lips, wipes a hand down his mouth and chin, thinking. "Do you want me to leave, then?" Leave Peter here, to be taken care of by some omega. Someone else, when it's Tony's job to take care of Peter. Not that...god.
Tony is so fucked up.
Peter makes a small, confused sound. "No--no. You don't have to leave. That's not--"
"I don't know if bringing a stranger in here is the best idea," Tony says, standing up. The first thing he does is take off his reading glasses. The second thing he does is put on his watch. Both of these things are written into muscle memory, and he can do them without seeming bothered. "But let's stick a pin in this. I need coffee, pronto."
"Yeah." Peter deflates. "Yeah, we can talk about it later."
Sure.
Tony is halfway through making a pot of coffee when he comes to two separate, terrible conclusions.
He would 100% help Peter with his rut if he could. and
He can't.
Tony is just a beta.
By the time Peter gets out of bed, Tony is long gone and the pot of coffee is done brewing.
Unknown to Tony, Peter grumbles, pours himself a cup of coffee, and plots how to get Tony in his bed -- biblically -- within the next two weeks.
#omegaverse#starker#ironspider#drabble#i might make a little drabble collection on ao3 so if i ever wanna come back to these i can#i was gonna write the full conclusion but then it got long#everyone makes fun of me because i can't write short things TT

Time to save them all, Chapter 2
June 1st 1978
Harry had been in the past for a month now and to be honest, it wasn’t going well.
Harry had set up a tent deep into the forbidden forest, far enough that even Hagrid couldn't accidentally bump into him. Covering the tent walls were every location he could think of where the horcruxes were. Most of them were easy, apart from three. The diary and Nagini were most likely with Voldy and Harry had no idea where Dumbledore got the ring.
What didn’t help was the fact that he now had to carry around the diadem everywhere he went. He didn’t want to break into Hogwarts to get it so, when he arrived in this time he snuck out of the great hall, grabbed it and ran as fast as he could out of there. The thought of being seen by anyone terrified him, imagine what would happen if Dumbledore saw him or worse his parents.
However, by the state of him, it wouldn’t matter.
His hair had started to grow out and stubble resided on his face. Mud caked his boots and jeans, to the point you couldn’t see the colours underneath. His tank top had developed numerous grass stains, as well as his Weasley made cadigan. The Gryfindor sword constantly remained sheathed and strapped to his back at all times.
He didn’t have many opportunities to clean, as the nearest body of water was the black lake but it was too close to school and he had to only go when the students were sleeping and werewolf Remus wasn’t running about.
Harry had a plan.
It was a shit plan that could possibly lead to death but it needed to be done.
Once Harry destroyed a horcrux, Voldemort would be on to him. Luckily, this time he didn’t know who Harry was, so finding him would be difficult. It also helped that his number of followers hadn’t reached its peak yet.
So on June the first 1978, Harry was going to walk into the creepy, monster-filled cave, grab the locket and destroy it and the diadem simultaneously and if Harry was lucky (which for some strange reason he is, considering he has continuously been defeating one of the most powerful wizards ever, from the age of one and up) the combined blast from both destroyed horcruxes would give him enough time to flee.
Merlin help him!
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2 Hours Later
Harry thought he was God!
Because it is physically impossible for anyone to survive what he had just gone through.
First, Harry had to get to the island, that was basically a giant fucking rock in the middle of the sea, where he had only been to once, had no fucking clue where it was, all without getting splinched.
Second, Harry then had to get into to the magic cave, row the boat to the stupidly placed pile of rocks, and drink the posion that made Dumbledore go fucking insane.
Thirdly, Harry then had to perfectly hit both horcruxes at the same time with a sword, all while being clawed to death by terrifying lake creatures, in the faint hopes it could possibly save his life.
So, Harry thought he was God!
—----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
June 11th 1978
Harry had since moved from the forbidden forest and was now walking down the streets of Diagon alley. He was in desperate need for a hot shower and a decent meal so a night in the leaky cauldron was his best bet.
The 70s were quite a fun time in Harry’s opinion. There were people of all genders wearing bell bottoms, heels and tight shirts with messy hair and lots of denim and leather. He imagined a younger version of his uncle Sirius wearing these muggle clothes and dragging the marauders to Bowie and Queen concerts, like he detailed in the future.
The wizard world hadn’t changed much. He still saw people in robes and pointy hats, mostly the same stores occupying the same places. The only difference he could find were the different quidditch players plastered on posters.
Although he was in a time before his birth, he felt comfortable here.
Harry could see the effects of destroying 2 horcruxs this early on in the past did. Deatheaters were becoming violent (more than they already were) and we're hunting down anybody who could possibly be connected.
He knew where the next horcrux was, with Bellatrix Lestrange. She wouldn’t have put the Hufflepuff cup in her vault yet, that would happen in a few days. Hopefully, he would be able to steal and destroy it while they were on their way to Gringots (as apperating there would be near impossible considering the curse on the item).
Harry hoped luck would again be on his side.

Tell me more about your academic rival people???
Alright so. They live in this world made of these beautiful floating islands with waterfalls that fall into nowhere (*cough* except its not nowhere). And there's one main country (I really need to go find my notes that has the names of the places cuz I cannot remember them for my life lol) that encompasses a group of said islands with one large main island in the middle where the city is and stuff and then all the little islands around it are full of small villages and stuff.
Nixie, our main girl, is from one of the small villages with her mom and her little sister. They've been struggling with money for as long as she can remember, and her dad has never been in the picture. She has exactly one memory from when she probably 6-ish, maybe a little younger, of an Uncle Ash that she'd never met before and never saw again, and he spent a weekend with her and her mom (sister wasn't born yet at this point) and then just disappeared and never came back.
Nixie turned out to be very magically gifted and ended up getting into this school on the mainland that's known world wide for being one of the best when it comes to magic. Mom panics for a minute cuz it's always just been the three of them and she's not ready for Nixie to be that far away, but in the end she knows Nixie going off and being able to actually make money is probably their only chance at ever getting out of poverty and so Nixie goes off to boarding school, whether she even really wanted this herself or not, I'm not sure yet.
One of the biggest things at said school (which I should really name) is how fiercely they encourage competition. These kids futures depend on where they are on a leader board. Nixie and Aerin have spent every year they've been in this school together fighting for that top spot.
Aerin doesn't have the same reasons for going for it so desperately as Nixie, but he does have his own. See, his dad sucks. He's very aggressive verbally and belittling. They live on the mainland because his dad has ties in the government. He wants Aerin to be at the top and anything less than that isn't good enough and he's very abusive verbally and emotionally, with a few bouts of physical abuse. Aerin has yet to really come to terms with the fact that this is abuse and that it's not okay and is instead just believing all of it is his fault and if he just does better, his dad will love him again.
So they're both on opposite sides of this, putting ridiculous amounts of pressure on themselves (and having pressure put on them by their parents) trying to fight to be the best and they often take it out on each other.
But somehow they both end up befriending this new girl, Cari. (Her full name is Caridoma but she absolutely will not respond to that, she'll flat out ignore you.) No one really even knows how she got in to the school in the first place because she couldn't care less about its competitive nature and doesn't even do her work half the time because she's more interested in something else. Often, that's helping someone else with something completely unrelated to school. She's very sweet and also reckless and often does not think about the consequences of helping people. How she ended up befriending both Nixie and Aerin-who could only dream of being so carefree-I don't know but she managed it. She absolutely hates being in the middle of their rivalry though. She ignores them both anytime they try to insult each other. Especially since she sees the way it affects both of them (even the things they try to hide) and how burnt out they both are on all of it.
They have this one teacher though that Cari adores. Not sure yet what she teaches, but she often throws out everything the government wants from her and encourages them to work together, to help each other rather than trying to destroy each other. And somehow she ends up getting Nixie and Aerin actually working together on something, which goes about as well as one would expect. That is, until they start stumbling upon secrets about their government and what they're *really* building below the islands-and what already was below the islands. And that secret keeps leading them to more and more, secrets about Nixie's family and about who Cari really is. And before long they're tangled up with a rebel group they thought was full of terrorists and they're involved in this whole mess they don't know how to get out of.
Absolutely feel free to send more asks anytime! I love talking about them and each time I talk about them I have more ideas and everything starts to make more sense lol

Idk if this video was already uploaded onto Tumblr yet or not or if the post no longer exists, but I'll still put it up here to be safe, this video is made by KeyBlack, AKA "The Artist Formerly Known as SquigglyDigg.".
-Genuinely unpopular opinion: I prefer the idea of Maria being Sonic's close friend in the past than Shadow's. Why? Simple. The idea of Shadow wanting to avenge the death of someone who loves earth and wants him to help humans BY hating humans and wanting to destroy their world not only makes zero sense, but it makes him come off as a manchild (or I should say "Hedgechild") who throws tantrums way out of disproportion even though he's supposed to be a sympathetic character. If Maria survived (she didn't, just saying if), how would she feel if someone who is like a brother to her came back to hate the very thing she loves and completely went against her wish? Sonic being friends with her makes PERFECT sense. It'll explain why he loves nature and exploring. Fans complain about his more relaxed and aloof sides in Sonic X (half of season 2 were anime adaptations of the Sonic Adventure games) but it makes sense to me because even when he doesn't directly remember the trauma, his body that grew up with wanting to be on earth still gives him an instinct to go off on his own and appreciate beauty and his brain might be telling him to isolate himself in case if he ever were to draw too close to people, the tragedy could possibly repeat itself. Poor Blue Blur, someone give him a hug! :C
Headcanon fuel time
-Sonic was a young hoglet when Gerald took him in to use him as a base for an Ultimate Lifeform. Gerald was busy working half the time, so Sonic spent more time with his granddaughter Maria. Sonic and Maria were each other's first close childhood friends (close enough that they considered each other siblings). One of their favorite games to play was tag because it was the best way to use up energy and bond. Gerald taught Maria how to invent so one day, Maria invented Sonic his own socks and red shoes when his preteen stage finished.
-About 50 years later, Eggman found a deep-frozen body of Sonic in the deep depths of an -0 degree ocean and took him to South Island to thaw in hopes to find an opportunity to take his powers for world domination.
-When Sonic woke up from cryonics, he got amnesia and had to learn life skills again. Although he won't admit it, Sonic has self identity issues because he can't remember where he came from.
-Sonic regains his memories of his past in Space Colony ARK after the events of Sonic Adventure 2. When he gains memories of Maria, he becomes unusually depressed to the point that even his friends notice it (they're used to the upbeat and positive Sonic). He took the death of her very hard since losing Maria is like losing his sister.
And with that backstory in mind, maybe Shadow was actually Sonic's unborn brother/cousin! :O
#sonic the hedgehog#sonic#sonic theory#sonic lore#Sonic is the real Ultimate Lifeform theory#Sonic is Longclaw's and Chaos' baby theory#This theory also makes sense because it give Sonikal more basis#it deepens Sonic's empathy and eagerness to make life better for Tikal and his essential dad mainly because he knows what it's like to be#born in the past and lose his past family due to tragedy and deal with someone they knew before be driven to revenge and learn to#open their hearts and that they can be better people with humanity and use their power to save the world instead of destroying it#at least I see Chaos having that arc if he appeared again for that reason instead of appearing just to remind us he was Sonic's rival#at least he kinda did have that arc in the Sonic X comic issue C:#Youtube

Warning! Spoiler from Sonic Rush Adventure and Continue from these
Punch: I want him to be free and want him to travel around the world as much as he wants.
Gigamesh: Me too. Both you and I never had a time since little when we could travel around the world as much as we wanted, unlike the prime world.
Punch: You're not age Mr Gilgamesh.....
Gilgamesh: At least I was once a child too even not from the earth!!
Punch: Sonic should go to the many places he wants....both two of us can't but Sonic can.....that's why.....my brother.....
Gilgamesh: As long as Eggman has done the bad stuff but for him to travel and gain experience. I think is worth it.
Punch: And play and kick some butt with that jerk Eggman that is pretty fun and not boring. I think is worth it.*Evil Laugh*
.
Gilgamesh: My childhood has already ended. I don't have a right to replace my brother's life. He has a will to live by his own freedom.
And in Sonic Rush Adventure
When Sonic and Tails are tracking a mysterious, unknown source of energy in the Tornado, when they are sucked into a hurricane. The two then find themselves on an island, where a raccoon girl, named Marine the Raccoon, takes care of the two when they woke up. She tells the dynamic duo that she wants to go adventuring. With this, the hedgehog and the fox set off for different islands, and the adventure begins. In this ending Tails says maybe they end up in Blaze's dimension because that is what Chaos Emeralds want not Sol Emeralds. (Not only reason Sonic and Blaze found out that the Emeralds brought them together once again, and did not threaten to destroy both worlds this time because they were stable) In this scene Sonic though why Chaos Emeralds acted on their own will, not Sonic, that's makes Sonic question because he was the only one who could use Chaos Emeralds until Blaze gives him the answer.
Blaze points out that the reason is from Sonic himself.
In this scene Sonic is shocked and later he changes to a happy smile because that's from Super Sonic or the other him that lives inside him not because Chaos Emeralds acted on their own will. Make Sonic felt happy because the other him tried to tell Sonic that the other him always be there for him even though Sonic wasn't the one who used Chaos Emeralds. No matter what happens or Sonic may get lost in the darkness or in danger, Super Sonic or the other him will be there for him, and want Sonic to know he has never been alone. The same reason in Sonic X, the other him agrees and though the same as Sonic, stays with Chris just a little longer and heals Chris' heart as the best as Sonic can as a friend.
"You know what, Chris? The moon is the same in this world, and in the other world." meaning "Even I am not here but I will always be there" The same means "I'm not staring at the moon and thinking about him!" and The same meaning as this one Source
Punch: Even this power belongs to you and to us, it's up to you when to use those powers. What you want to do it's up to you decided, not because of us but your own freedom.
Punch: You'll be fine. You already know that yourself, don't you? So don't throw away the kind you've become.
Sonic: I know I'll be fine, after all.....I've always been "me". I live by my own and my free will not from my brothers or from your memory.
Gilgamesh: That's right. You kinda remind me of myself when I made decisions to be responsible as a king for the first time. Well, this is where we part ways. Bye, Sonic.
Punch: Life is full of pitfalls but I know you've got what it takes to pull through. And don't worry. You'll do just find on your own.
Sonic: Bye, my brothers. Until we meet again. And thank you again.
Sonic: It only took you being there walking to make me happy. Being together, even though we weren't together.

from prey to predator ep2 s 3
After some time of introductions and traveling around the main island the newcomers met firstly the clowns, secondly the lost souls and with them the souleaters, then the plants and lastly ants but as they were coming back from the giant hive that was the bug kingdom Margareth heard something
rustle
Margareth - WHAT WAS THAT DID- DID- DID EVERYONE HEAR THAT
Markus - there is nothing there calm down
Dorothy - what did you hear
Margareth - it was rustling from over there
Markus - don't panic it was probably a rat or something
And with that the group continued the travels, but Margareth seemingly as the only one, kept hearing more of the rustling it felt like it was following them, but, she didn't want to be a bother. They got home and went to sleep. But the rustling didn't stop, until Margareth went to Dorothy where she got a spare matress and slept on the floor, finally being able to sleep with the comfort of safety and dorothy's presence. The next day they set out to get grocories needed for thier dinner. They tried to get to the kingdom closest to thier landing site that being the Rainbow kingdom, and since Erick decided to get himself the best bedroom in the castle for the time of the lessons, as he conveniently had the best relationship with the clown king for some odd reason, Erick was able to help them pick the best tasting and the most affordable food that planet rasvin had to offer. So they bought everything they needed and got on the way back, But it was only when they were coming back to the landing site did it happen Rustling happened and with that rustling fell one, two, three until Margareth was the last one to hit the ground as the fourth one. When they woke up it was clear as the day what happened, they got kidnnaped, but what wasn't clear for now, was why that happened they saw things they haven't yet been showed, rats, human like rats, they were the size of a eleven year old grey fur and small rodent hands and they were behaving in human ways, right now they were looking through the grocories, the group looked around, they were in a open stable like structure tied with ropes and next to them was a… a person? thier face and hands were covered with a cloth and gloves, they seemed unfriendly, it was probably the leader of all the other rats, He looked back at them and the group saw what he was doing, he was reading a book, Ericks book
Erick - HEY GIVE THAT BACK
??? - i do not think i will, I must say Erick you did this to yourself
Erick - how would i do any of this to myself, i did nothing wrong
??? - as if. Not only did you play as a god you also changed people into objects or animals
Erick - animals? wait hold on! i know who you are! Please let me explain myself, it might even help you!
??? - oh.. so you know who i am huh. That's weird because when you turned me into this you didn't even ask me for my name!
As the man said that he aggresively pulled out his cloth mask reveling a rodent face
Erick - Look i am sorry i had to do this or else you would destroy this world!
??? - and how would i do that! i was just a pathetic plant!
Erick - you… you were more than that a wrong move with you and your anger… it would destroy all, in a proper way of a destruktor
??? - D- de- … What wreched thing are you assigning me now
Erick - do you know what a destruktor is
??? - of course i do! a wreached montster fuelled by the anger of the person that became them!
Erick - do you remember how angry you were getting how much wrong stuff happened to you? that is why. A destruktor is cursed from it's birth by the Astral goddess with the worst of luck, it only appears when the person reaches full adulthood and thier life becomes more frustrating and stressing it becomes more and more stressful until the bubble finally pops.
the stranger now worried looked at Erick and considered his words he knew that Erick spoke the truth but he still didn't know why he was a rat
??? - so what's the point of all this why am i a filthy animal now
Erick - I got a theory when i saw that the deseas that a destruktor has isn't affecting non abstractal thinking species, you know the species that can't have abstract thoughts, and i tested that theory on you, and guess what… It works! That type of change can prevent the transformation and can prevent further destruction. I didn't consult you because the stress of being hit with the fact that you are a destruktor would suerly change you into one. But now i see that i might have been too harsh on your form. You know, i could change you into a kobolt instead of a mus folk. But that would mean you would need to move somewhere where i could make sure you are doing fine.
??? - OH please do so, i am tired of living here with those filthy rodents!
Erick - alright then would you kindly untie us
the stranger quickly cut through the rope, the rats were noticeably sad that one of them was going to leave but they didn't make a move to stop him from doing so they even helped to get the ropes off and helped the group with getting up then quickly Erick and the rat man settled on the form of a humanoid rattle snake and then the man was quickly turned into his desired form. Then they said thier goodbyes to the rats, and went back home to the kingdom, where they told about thier adventures to the king, ate, and left behind Erick and the man who introduced himself as El Mariana, they went to sleep and it was even more calming for Margareth as she now was sure the rustling won't happen again.

okay i watched the last episode of aot, i couldnt bring myself to live react because i was so invested but i have so many thoughts
the entire fight on eren's back is so insane i loved how it was the past lives of the 9 titans. there was so many moments where i really thought someone was going to die, basically at least once with all of the characters besides mikasa, it felt v much high stakes. genuinely for a second i thought armin was a GONER when he was in the paths. i like the scene with him and zeke a lot there, especially with the leaf and baseball moment. absolutely iconic though that we go from that to levi literally killing zeke on sight. when we see eren jumping around with people in their memories thats where i started to get a little lost lmao. im assuming its the same as when he showed zeke how he spoke to grisha through memories and its all in the paths. the moment where jean and connie turned into titans (and gabi but honestly.. fuck gabi to this day) i literally thought that was it for them.
but the whole thing with eren explaining his motive to everyone and erasing their memories, i still just dont see the point in his plan. like eren himself said that he tried a numerous amount of times to change the outcome but it was always going to be 80% of the world thats destroyed by the rumbling. its also hard to tell if its really erens will or ymirs will manipulating eren through the founding titan. especially because after mikasa kills eren and we see all the ghosts (?) of the scouts and past people ymir also shows up, and its one of the few times that her eyes are clear. eren says too that ymir was bonded to mikasa because of the loyalty/love they both have for eren and the king. so maybe ymir was the one who truly wanted freedom and had to wait for an ackermaan or someone with a bond to an attack titan, since they also have the ability to go through past memories, in order to get to this moment where she gains freedom. idk thats my out there theory when it comes to this convulted plot lmao
post the rumbling i wish we got to see more of what the other characters were doing after. a lot of plot points seem unresolved. annie and armin started getting pushed heavily (out of nowhere) but we dont even know if they end up together. it looks like jean and mikasa end up together at the end scenes where its super tiny drawings. levi also literally lost his best friend and officially has no one left of his peers/mentors and is heavily impacted from his injuries of the battle/war and all we see is him wordlessly handing out candy? idk just watching these characters literally suffer and go through tragedy from the beginning and then be through literal war for multiple seasons i wish we got to see them happy post all of that. it didnt ruin the end or anything for me though, just left me wanting more
okay so the very end where we see presumably hundreds of years go by and the tree that mikasa has buried eren under has grown into basically a replica of the tree ymir fell into, i actually dont hate. i know a lot of people were upset that eren did all of this to stop the war/violence and it ended with at least the island where paradis was to be destroyed, but i actually dont mind the ending. i get what they were going for with the fact that its inevitable for humans to fight. i also dont hate the idea that its all a cycle and the parasite is still there under the tree. i think it makes sense because they didnt burn erens body, and they also said that parasite was "life" which may make it impossible to kill even.
its been crazy watching the whole show unfold, and live reacting to it since the start of season 4. overall i didnt dislike the ending. there were really high notes for me, and i felt the actions scenes were really good. i think just wrapping up the character story lines post the rumbling fell a little flat. still 10/10 episode and show <3
