What's the general plot of the fantasy au if you want to share?

King is a humble blacksmith/enchanter in a generic fantasy town whose name changes every time I reexamine this AU. His son, Gold, shows a lot of talent for magic - he comes by it quite naturally, King and Gold's mother, Banana, were known for their innovative spellwork.

So Gold is chosen to go to the Royal Academy of Magic in the Capital City - King is only a little worried, this is the first time Gold's been away from him for more than a day, but Gold is excited to have some freedom from his overprotective father.

Final exams are something that friends and family are invited to view - a show of the country's upcoming talent - magic is a rare talent and any mage that's reached the final exams has incredible talent. King remembered his own exam fondly and went to watch his son eagerly.

Gold's examine went well up until his teleportation circle exploded - he never reappeared and was presumed to have died in the explosion.

King suspected sabotage but the academy wouldn't let him investigate - blaming the accident on Gold's own inexperience. It happens sometimes with unskilled magic use.

King was not satisfied with that and broke into the academy's forbidden library and stole a book on demon summoning - demons could perform feats of magic unthinkable to mortals, with their help he might get answers, or even better, retrieve Gold from wherever he was sent.

The demons, The Chosen One and The Dark Lord, arrive as a pair. After a long contract negotiation King binds them to him and the trio begins to investigate and see if they can reunite father and son.

Additional things to mention: the King is victim, Gold and Aqua's romantic relationship, the fact that when the town folk meet Dark and Cho with King they think that King is really not coping well and has been sleeping with these very wealthy men who are taking advantage of King's grief.
