#think w daans unstable childhood (constantly moving around + his parents' sylvain worship) he didnt get a birth certificate or any--#--paperwork establishing his existence until he started working as a butler for the baron so when the desperate joy of getting out of--#--prehevil fades and levi is suddenly hit w the realization that hes got nowhere to go nothing to prove who he is (and that he doesnt WANT-#--to do that bc he deserted + is scared of the repercussions of that) and no plan for the future daan is immediately there to help him--#--figure it out. went to prehevil w a deathwish left it with a kid LOL
